Is there a way in interface designer to make a GRID VIEW that is GROUPED have certain fields that are auto collapsed? USE CASE: I have all my tasks grouped by Complete vs Incomplete, Then by “responsible party”. every time I open my project, I see ALL TASKS. I want to have access to quickly view what is completed which is why I don’t filter it out altogether. But I want it to show up with the completed tasks group being collapsed as a default.
I’m trying to rollup a text field within an AT interface. I’ve created a Lookup field which is correctly showing duplicate results. However, I want to rollup the duplicates so the result only shows once. Results of my look up are the following:Transactions Policy PolicyThe two “Policy” records are identical and I’d like to roll those up. I’ve tried the rollup up functions, but they seem to only work on values rather than text.
Did AirTable remove the ability to use forms on interfaces on mobile devices? We were previously able to submit forms on the mobile interface, but now we get the pop-up message that the page is not supported on mobile. Can we get this feature back?
Hello,Quick question: when I use a record picker in an Interface, why can I create a new linked record… but not pick an existing one?It is called a “picker”, right? 😅Context: I’m building a CRM to manage photography projects. A project can have multiple venues. I’ve got a field linking to my “Venues” table, and yes — the field allows multiple links. But in the Interface: I can only select one item at a time, I can’t pick multiple existing venues, But weirdly, I can create a new venue every time. Which… leads to dozens of duplicates, breaks the logic of relational design, and honestly makes me want to go back to Google Sheets and sticky notes. You used to have this working (RIP Record Lists and side panels). It was beautiful. It made sense. Now, even for simple things like choosing two people for a project or adding a venue that already exists, I need to invent workarounds that feel more 1998 than 2025.Or it is just me that don’t really understand the new logic of the interface and re
I am hoping to use a cutdown “form” or interface designer method to enable stocktakes of our database items via mobile phone and the airtable app. I have created an interface with a barcode field to be used as a key to all the items and an associated display of the fields for each record that can be changed - location, number of items etc. As others have mentioned I was surprised ot see that sharing the interface also shares the entire base but this doesn’t worry me as its only for internal use. When I look at the barcode field for the base/table on the phone app, I can see the camera/scan option and can scan in a barcode. But when I launch the interface and see the barcode field, I can’t see a camera option. If I select the barcode field it just shows a screen keyboard and I can’t see how to enable the camera. I want to use the camera/barcode to find the item in a record list then manually enter the associated data. Also there doesn’t see to be a way to access the interface from the m
I set up an interface for reviewing and managing customer credit limits and I can’t figure out how to set a field to display with the numbers right-aligned.It would look so much better and be more readable with the currency values right-aligned the way they should be!
We have embedded an iframe with an Airtable Interface into our Website. The problem is that the content of the iframe is not updating in realtime once i change data inside Airtable which SHOULD reflect in an immediate change of the iframe (Interface) contents. The content in the Airtable Interface however is updated immediately - only the website embedded iframe is still showing old content. How can i make the content inside the iframe update immediately?
I have a record picker on Page 1. I also have a search button, which has an action set to ‘go to interface page’. This point to Page 2. On Page 2, what I’m trying to achieve is a record summary of the record picked on Page 1. Could someone advise if this is possible? If possible, please explain how. Thank you in advance.
Hi all - I’ve got a calendar interface that shows my warehouses their upcoming schedule. It displays three different event types. Problem is, while all the events appear normally on the web app, only one type of event is showing on the phone app. I’ve double checked all the interface settings, filters, date fields, etc, and everything is correct. Why would certain events appear differently between desktop and phone? Here’s the same month view on desktop vs phone - note the 5/25 & 5/26 FMSC Closed events appearing on both.
Are there ways to export on-screen data for the applicable record or child records to a PDF or XLSX from interface designer? I'm aware of the page builder extension in the base, and the download to csv option in the base view screen - but I want my users to stay in interfaces. I'd like to be able to add a button up top that says "Export to XLSX" on a project plan and have an XLSX or CSV document be spawned for download from the interfaces screen. Alternatively it could be emailed or pushed to cloud storage. Is there a way to do this natively? Or only with 3rd party integrations?
I need help in displaying number of characters entered, and number of characters left in text fields in forms. Something like this:The number of characters remaining should get dynamically updated as the user types/deletes the characters.
I have 2 forms that a customer fills out - 1 is info about the company, which populates on the company table. The second is for the employees table and it collects info about each employee that works at the company. I currently have the form set up to collect the company info first, then they click “continue” and it redirects to the employee form. They then have the ability to fill out the employee form as many times as needed. I tried using a pre-filled link for this button to auto fill in the company name on the employee table linking the two, but that does not work. Should I be using an automation? Is there any solution for this that does not include using a 3rd app?Any ideas for linking the records is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
Can anyone give me a definitive answer to this question?I have a list Interface with 3 levels of heirarchy - Apiary, Hive, InspectionThis is for beekeeping. An apiary is a collection of Hives and Hives are inspected frequently. On desktop in a browser (Safari) I can click into the Apiary Details and scroll down to the list of Hives and add a new one.Still on desktop, when I expand the Apiary the interface shows its Hives as expected with an ‘+Add Record’ (why can’t I call them Hives?) button, and when I expand a Hive I can see the inspections as expected and at the bottom of the list of inspections is a ‘+ Add Inspection’. All good. Makes sense. But none of those things are available in mobile (iOS 18.3.2, iPhone 12 Pro)I can open an item at any level and edit that item but I can’t add new hives or inspections. Looks like this:Am I missing something? This is a key feature for me and being able to do this in mobile is really why I’m building this app.I read an announcement from a year ago
Hi all,I have a list layout in Interface which allows users to click into records. In the page which loads, I have a list block which shows a list of players who have played a game. I have it set up to allow users to add new players to that list. It works as expected on desktop, but not on the mobile Interface. On mobile any existing players are visible, but there's no button to add a new player to the list.Is this a feature that just hasn't come out yet or am I missing something super obvious lol? TIA!
Hey all,I would like to update the access for some base collaborators who currently have full access to base & Interface to Interface-only access (these users were already shared as collaborators before it was possible to share an Interface without giving access to the base). In this case, does anyone know if I have to entirely delete these users from the base and then re-share them as Interface-only contributors (with the 'Allow access to data in the base' unchecked upon share)? Thanks in advance!
Is there a way to export an interface, configured as a "List" view to an excel file? I understand this gets complicated as many users have groups set within their list view. I'd imagine that this would work though, if groups are placed into different tabs/pages on the excel file. Unfortunately, "Print this Page" isn't a great solution to export data. Additionally, i've noticed that it formats very strange and is rendered useless. I'd like to also note, that the interface is the only employee facing option. Employees don't have access to the base. Only the interface. Thanks!
Hello Community, since this morning our teammembers, who only have access to our interfaces, are not able to run Airtable automations through buttons anymore. The buttons are greyed out and they get a warning saying "Not connected to an automation".However, when logged in through our administrator account (with full data access) the buttons and Airtable automations work as intended. We did not make any changes to the interface, database structure or fields, automations, or the users permissions and capabilities. No changes to anything recently. Overnight things just stopped working.Yesterday everything was working fine, today no automation can be triggered through a button unless it is the administrator account with full access to the data. What happened? What could that be?We need URGENT help here. 🙄
Hi All – I have a large base which essentially functions as a CRM. The first field in the base is “partner name” and the subsequent fields are information about the partner - location, bio, Linkedin profile, etc. We use the base to track engagement and other touchpoints with the partners. I want to build an end-user interface while allows my executive director to input the name of an individual from the base and then have it return a few specified fields. For example, the ED has an end-user interface and is instructed to input a partner name. After inputting the name, the interface returns Linkedin profile, bio, and last-emailed (all fields that we collect and keep up-to-date). I know it’s possible to just make my ED an editor and give access to the entire base but we have 50+ fields and I want an more user-friendly experience. Privacy is not the concern here, rather my ED doesn’t need to see all the fields and details in the base. Is this kind of build possible with an interfa
I notice that while i have a confirmation enabled on the computer for the delete button on an expanded record in the interface, I do not have to confirm to delete from mobile which has been risky for my team as we use our mobile devices frequently in the field and its easy to accidentally hit that big red button. There is also no way to undo on mobile if you miss the brief "undo" float message. Am I missing something? It would also be nice to have a delete confirmation feature when add/delete records in line is enabled for calendar, list, kanban views, etc. on an interface. I want my team to be able to click the calendar to easily add tasks to a certain date without filling out a form for each but I don't want them to accidentally delete records either.
Hi!I’m writing a script that will create a QR code that you can scan to open a record. It works to open in the data view without issue. But I need to have it go to an Interface. If I open an interface on the desktop browser then right click on a record, then click on "copy device URL", that URL will work on the iPhone. I can paste that URL into a note and when I click it, it opens the Airtable app and goes directly to the record in the Interface. Exactly what I want. The catch is, that URL has a bunch of extra base64 encoded stuff. I can’t figure out how to get the elementId , queryContainerId , and savedFilterSetId. Using this partly redacted URL for example:https://airtable.com/appXXXXXXXXXXXXX/pagLAWnn0AqECV5AG?detail=eyJwYWdlSWQiOiJwYWdZdkdwVG1VbXZ4eURpYyIsInJvd0lkIjoicmVjMktQeGpvbHpxc0dkV1QiLCJzaG93Q29tbWVudHMiOmZhbHNlLCJxdWVyeU9yaWdpbkhpbnQiOnsidHlwZSI6InBhZ2VFbGVtZW50IiwiZWxlbWVudElkIjoicGVsRHhZVTlPOFp3T3draTgiLCJxdWVyeUNvbnRhaW5lcklkIjoicGVsM0ltR0tBOVpQRmhqVEoiLCJzYXZlZEZpbHRlclN
In Interface, I create a grouping of my data based on warehouses. That works. The warehouse names appear as their own defined sections, great! Why in the world do I have to see the field name above every single group in my page??1-It’s the same (useless) information over and over2-It’s ugly Is there a way to just remove the grouping title? We can remove grouping record sums! Why not the title? In this example I would remove the POSO WAREHOUSE text.(My fallback is to edit this for something like an Emoji or whatever, but I’d rather have nothing appear). Thanks so much folks!
Hi, A few our users are starting to see an error on the interface for a graph. The graph is replaced by the error 'Cannot access this data' Nothing has changed and this can be seen with anyone with database access as far as I can tell. Anyone have a solutions?
Hi everyone,I recently subscribed to the $120/month plan on Airtable to use the "Invite Interface Users" feature, with the goal of building a secure client portal.🔍 What I’m trying to achieve:I’d like each of my clients to access only their own project status and files (like contracts, invoices, etc.) through a personal and secure interface, without being able to see any data related to other clients.🚨 The problem I’m facing:After subscribing and setting up the interface, I noticed that: When sharing via a public link or inviting users as guests, they can still navigate across all records within the interface. There doesn’t seem to be a way to dynamically filter content per user, which means clients can potentially see information that’s not meant for them. here is the public sharing link : https://airtable.com/appDYt3YzQdpYcnOG/shrUpygqc5VuKVW4OHere is the link to the new "Invite Interface Users" feature: https://airtable.com/appDYt3YzQdpYcnOG/pagkFj34FIhwvysX2🔁 My question :Has
Hi everyone!I have created an interface to keep me organized, and one thing I would like to add is a table that would function like the data side, just within the Interface. For my specific example, I have various groups I invite to events, and it would be helpful to have a table with the group name, group contact, and then a checkbox for when I’ve contacted them. My interface is a “Record Review” interface.Does anyone know how I can achieve this? Any help is appreciated!
Hellowe are a marketing agency and use records as ‘tasks’ which have time against them so that our team can resource themselves each week and we use the timeline view to check their % capacity and utilisation each day/week/month. some people have a handful of tasks (1 per customer) assigned to them each month, with a number of hours to spend on the customer, but how they actually end up spending their time is a little bit each week. the challenge we have is if you pick a start date and end date as start and end of the month for this task is spreads it too thin and doesn’t allow the guys to setup their days in a more granular fashion.I guess we could break down and have tasks each week but then that’s extra admin, more chances of things breaking, not distributing the tasks evenly on some months with 4 weeks vs 5 and so on. just wondering if I’m missing a trick before deciding how best to proceed in an efficient way
