Interface Designer

HI folks, trying to create a record review and dash board in interfaces. I am in editable mode. However I cannot add, change, move or colour elements. The '+' sign at the bottom left corner of the screen does not appear so I cannot even create new elements.  I am an 'owner' of the base so I should be able design and edit interfaces. Any signposts or advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello! On the grid view, users are normally able to add new options to a multiple select field. However, when I try to do this on a form, I can only select from existing options. Is there any way to get around this?  

Hi there, I'm on a business plan using interfaces as a ticketing system with multiple external parties. Each external party has an interface with a unique filter condition and are given read-only access. I want them to be able to view the comments too - is there any way I can do this? I've enabled record-level details such that when they click on each row, the individual record shows. however, it doesnt allow me to configure this record-level view with Comments/Activity feed element. All I'm seeing are the Fields, and two other options: Chart and Number. 

I am setting up a KPI tracking sheet for our business but I'm stuck on how to create the layout for data input. Situation: I have KPI's I want to track on a yearly /quarterly / monthly / weekly base --> so each KPI has need of different columns for data input (months / weeks / ...), how can I make a clear overview? Or should i make different tabs depending on the date range for input?Also some KPI's are numbers, some are percentages,.. so i cannot make 1 column for data input. Should i make different columns fe 'KPI number' , 'KPI percentage' and then leave open some columns which are not relevant? I feel there are better options but I just recently started using Airtable so would love to hear from some more experienced users 🙂

Hello, I have an interface that generates data based on individual users' data. When I share this, the link looks like:https://airtable.com/(appID)/(interfaceID)I want to use URL filtering to display the data for a specific user in the Airtable based on their email. The user's email can be found in a list of users called "Students," the field for their email is called "Email." Hello All!New to Airtable but loving it so far!I created a CRM for my company, and also created several interfaces for employees to use the CRM. Everyone uses the interfaces on the Airtable mobile app on their iphone.One of the interfaces is a Referral Log, that allows users to add client referrals, comment, and keep track of them. Every employee has full access to this Referral Log interface, and can edit, create, etc.I have built everything to be seamless, and it is perfect so far - save for one issue:When a user comments on a Referral, or uses the @ symbol to add someone to the thread - they receive a notification that someone commented or mentioned them. This notification exists in the "notifications" menu in the apps base menus. However when you click into the notification a message appears "This page is not supported on mobile. Go to Desktop view." - the annoying part is you can easily just go to the record you were mentioned in and view the comment there, so the page is totally

Hi - looking for some assistance with an interface where I am looking to achieve filtering according to a selection. The example is as follows, I have a timeline view which we will filter by a 'Customer' field, which we would then subsequently want a field which we have called 'Deals' that only relating to the specific customer. The currently 'Deal' filter is a look up field which comes from a separate base.  

When I use the user search in my list interface, it displays "4 results" in the search field but no items show in the list. What am I missing?

Hi,I am trying to understand how interfaces and users interact. I have a series of interfaces that I intend to have users edit the information for certain fields.I have set up the interface pages to have the correct fields editable and I set up a user (different from the owner) so that I could check that it is working properly. When I go into it with the test user though set as an Editor, I am unable to edit the fields that I should be able to. Can anyone please explain how this work, or how I should have the interfaces so that they can be edited by users? Thanks in advance for anyone's help. S

Hi, I'm currently trying to display my teams averages in an interface. In my table, I have a user field where records are assigned to a team member, a date completed field and a status field where the team marks "Complete" when finished.In my interface, I would like to display the average count completed per day. I know this can be accomplished through lookup/rollup fields but I'm struggling to get it to work properly and would really appreciate some assistance.

Is it possible to change the position of the menu in Interface so that it appears at the top? Or maybe on the right side?I would be happy to helpthanks! 

At roughly 4pm EST 8/19/24 none of my users, including myself (admin) could no longer click linked records to see the detail screen for the latest (non-legacy) interfaces I have built.  The legacy interfaces still allow for linked records to be clicked into detail screens.It was working fine one minute, no changes to the interface were made, then the links simply stopped showing the flyout windows when the records were clicked.  When editing the interface and selecting the link destination it gives you the icon to test the flyout of the link and that does not work either.  Nothing at all happens when clicking the records.  No settings were updated or changed.  When I dug into it I did find that I could update my layout I was trying to click into and "Upgrade it out of legacy", however, when I attempted to do that it froze the page up and never was able to accomplish the upgrade.It feels like an update went out that accidentally caused this issue.  Hoping t

Hi guys! I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong or something has recently changed? Long story short, I'm not able any longer to nest the records through the interface. Currently, I'm working on the new base and I wanted to nest records to organise them in some logical order. For example, if I look at one of the bases I already created, you can see the option to nest the records. Now, I'd like repeat the same process in another base and the option to nest the records is missing?Any idea if something has changed? Thanks!

In my base, I changed content type to multiple sections from single and now when I try to view the calendar view, "content pieces" it gives me a "Field “Content Type” was changed and can no longer be selected" Any suggestions on how to remedy this? Hey guys I am currently building a large airtable interface, the goal is to edit records with as much complexity. When I duplicated a block, I had this error code Your change was reverted because your interface is too big. Try deleting some elements. Any idea how to optimize this? Can the airtable team help?Thanks 

I just want to make sure I understand this properly.  I can create a mobile interface list view, but I can only sort by one criteria. I cannot then sort by a second one. For example I have TV shows and I can only sort by show name or episode. Not show name and THEN episode. Am I missing something?  Thanks  

Hello all,I have a new construction Community, which has not yet been mapped by Google Maps; but, I have a homesites map/ rendering of the Community. I want to be able to click on any particular homesite, and have specific data on that homesite become available. I already have a decent interface which holds the key info I want to be able to access quickly. So, this would be a complimentary capability, perhaps like a front end to the interface, which would be the Community homesites map. Click on a homesite, and it opens up the record details page (of the Interface).I reviewed the various map extensions, but have been unable to figure out how to make any of them function like this...Thanks in advance for any help!Joe  

I created an interface with tasks for each employee.I want each employee to be able to see only their tasks.I created a page with a filter for each employee, but I don't see an option how to make an exception so that employee X will not be able to see the tasks of employee Y and vice versa.How is it possible to exclude a certain page from any processing?thanks!

I am sure there is an easy way to do this but I am still fairly new to Airtable.I currently have a table that has six formula fields that give users information about their progress throughout the year based on criteria from other fields in the table.  I have created a record review interface that allows each user read-only access to see all of their updated fields as well as the information from the formula fields.  This is all working great except that multiple times throughout the year I need to go in and manually change which formula fields the users see.For example, at the beginning of the year, formula field1 is in the interface which provides the inital progress that the users will see. On date1, I need to change field1 to formula field 2; on date2, I need to change field2 to formula field3, etc.Is there a way to set up an automation to do this?  I am not finding an automation that will allow me to replace fields in an interface, and I don't know enough about inte

Hi friends, I created an interface that shows projects and within each project its tasks.But - it shows me this arrow (Chevron) even when there are no tasks under the same project and it's just confusing.How do I cancel it?This means that if there are no tasks in Level 2 then he will not see this arrow.I would appreciate your help.thanks!

Usability problem when linking to a record from the from the ‘one’ end of a many to one relationship.We visit homes to help people reduce carbon footprint and save money by taking energy efficiency measures.On every visit we recommend or take one or more actions, each of which has a specific ‘deliverable’  that holds standard values for savings etc.The entity relationship is:Visit to action = 1 to manyDeliverable to action =  many to 1We have many different deliverables, over 200. When adding a new action, which is usually done using a form that is prefilled with the correct Visit, the Deliverable field presents a long list that is in seemingly random order. I cannot find a way to sort or group the selection of links. Interfaces do not seem to help.Can anyone advise?  This must be a common issue . . .

Hi guys,For each of my clients, I create a project management interface where they can keep track of the project's progress. One of the pages on this interface is a list of tasks.As of now, I have to manually link each newly created task to the proper project. So I would like to automate this process.Ideally, I would have liked to set up an automation chose trigger would have been 'when a new record is created on this interface'. But this trigger doesn't exist.So the only workaround I found for now is to create a List view with hierarchy on and to show the Project name on the level above. But I feel it adds unnecessary clutter to the page design since clients of course only want to see the tasks related to their project.I assume I'm not the first one to have this need. So do you guys any other workaround to suggest?Thanks for your help.

Hi all;On Chrome, when inputting into an interface Long Text field, it resizes to half-width (see image), which is a pain in the butt for editing long copy on the fly. It's only recently started doing this, and it applies to both rich text and non-rich text fields.I'm not sure if it's an Airtable or Chrome problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

I have a "master" table containing Clients, and an interface page that presents selected information as a dashboard launching point for each client. I have a separate table where clients can input "evidence" of all kinds, and from that I can filter, sort, whatever until I can work with that information however I like.  I have an interface page for this table as well, where I can manually select which client I want to review the evidence for - and that's where I need help.I want to have a button on the Clients interface page that will take me to the Evidence interface page with data already filtered to match the Client from which the Evidence button was clicked.  I don't know how to grab that information (client name) from the Clients interface and feed it to the Evidence interface filter element before I even land there, as a clearable filter (b/c I might then want to stay in Evidence but move around to a different client without backtracking to the Client interface).Tha

I created an interface dashboard with several groups (different charts, different numbers, etc.).  For aesthetic reasons (making the data make more sense to execs), I would like to have 2 groups side by side. For example, I would like to have a YTD group of numbers next to a Month's group of numbers.  The YTD and Monthly data will come from different tables, so they need to be in separate groups.  It seems I can only create a new group below or above another group, but I would like to create a new group next to an existing group.  Is this possible? Thanks in advance!
