Hi! Excited about the ability to use forms in Interface. I have a question about single select fields in Interface Forms. Currently, if you type in a new option in the single select column in the Airtable base and that option currently doesn’t exist, you can add it to the single select column by pressing enter (after you’re typed up the new option). I am not able to add new options to a single select field in my Airtable Interface form. Am I missing something or has someone found a solution for this? Thanks all!
Hi guys, I created a simple CRM for a client on Airtable. The page for All Contacts have filters. My client would like to be able to set filters on this All Contacts page and then, from the interface, send an email to the subset of contacts she just had displayed (see screenshot below). The solutions I have in mind don't completely meet her need:Setting automations to have emails sent to different groups of people doesn't solve her problem since she wants to be able to send emails spontaneously. So there's no event in the database that could serve as a trigger for possible automations. She could of course export the list of contacts into a CSV, then copy and paste the email addresses into her email provider interface. But that's manual mindless work that I'd like her not to have to go through. I think the first step towards finding a solution is the ability to select contacts directly from the interface. How can I do that? Thank you for your help.
Hello All,I have been implementing new Form Interfaces for our candidates to fill out and I noticed that the banners and images have been getting removed; initially I thought it was because I duplicated the Form (which auto-removes the images), but when I checked on them a week later, all the images and banners were gone!Has anyone else experienced this issue? For clarity, I published and distributed 2 Form Interfaces, which I spot-checked and tested before and AFTER they were sent out to everyone. I can add screenshots if requested, but there's nothing really to show aside from the images.
I have an interface with a dashboard with two pivot tables tracking budgets.I have a dashboard page set to allow printing; however, every time I print, one of the two pivot tables are cut off although they both fit on the page, and there is no horizontal scroll needed. I've tried to expand the table and print them one by one, but then the same cut-off still happens. This is how the pivot tables look on my screen only - only 5 columns to print: This is how it looks on an A4 page - where the two last columns are cut off:Does anyone know how to get these two pivot tables to actually print out so the printout is usable, or is it a bug?
Hi allI have an orders table, an order line items table and a products table. In interface, i want my staff to make orders using the products table where they 'add product to new or existing order'.So when they click on the product this should bring up order line items form to add quantity, sell price etc of selected product and then either create new order (parent table of order line items) or link to existing order (order ID, vendor, consignee etc)Any ideas? Thank you!
I have an interface with a Field of the "Linked to another record" type. I want users to be able to either add or remove a connection to an existing record, OR to add a new linked record. I can set the field to allow these two things independently:However, in the interface both of these things don't work. If I allow for both, users can only remove the connection or add a connection to an existing record. However there is no way to add a new linked record. If i disallow the "Allow users to link/unlink", then users CAN add a new linked record. I want both of these things to be possible, as the interface field settings seem to imply.Am I missing something?
I am using softr as my front end for airtable. I have about 200 users on softr, and I want each user to be able to see their overall "performance" metrics for themselves only on softr. I don't like the data visualization tools on softr as much as airtable. Is there a way to specialize the airtable embed interfaces so it filters the data to only be the email of the person logged in on softr?
This function is available for the base. When I search there, the scanner symbol appears. Is this also available for an interface or a similar solution?I can scan using a form and would also like to be able to scan and then edit the product.
I'm trying to make a small CRM. Two of the main datatypes are Contact and Company. Clients work for Companies. When I get a new lead, I enter the Contact's information. When I do that, I'd also like to be able to create a record for their company if it isn't already in the Company table. So, bottom line, I should be able to either select a company, or type in the company's name and have it create a new record in the Company Table.I've created a simple interface to create a new contact, but as I understand it, interfaces only insert into one table. Is there any way around this? I thought about trying to add an automation, but it seems like the interface templates for adding new rows to a table don't support what I'm trying to do.
I went into Airtable to create a new form, and was pushed to do this in the "Interface view".It seemed relatively straightforward, but I can't find an option to "stop accepting new form submissions", like there was in the normal form view. You can "unpublish" the form, but this leads to a really nasty error message if someone tries to access the link (see screenshot). Is there a solution for this? At the moment I have had to edit the form by removing all of the fields and adding text to confirm that it is no longer accepting submissions.
Hi,I'm trying to display fractions and percents based on a cap/denominator of my choosing. Ex. x / 54.The goal is to help the team know at a glance/status report that we are either at cap or below and by how much exactly. The same need is also needed in that if we're below by 3 for example, maybe 1 is in transition and only 2 is truly missing.I fiddled with columns and formulas a little bit and found a way for a column to display a fraction by having a autocount row and a formula row returning a concat of the {autocount} +"/54" for x/54 but I cannot display that on a dashboard. Also learned formulas can't count records in the table, hence autocount as a workaround. If anyone has thoughts on how to show fractions that would be great. OR display a count of "54" or "20000" without it ruining the table as a last resort, so that I can display a regular count as one field, and that "fake/determined" count as another field next to it.Edit: Also found out after more fiddling, autocount does not
In order to keep costs down at our nonprofit, I have it set up so only a few people have paid editing access in Airtable - the rest have read-only access to an interface. They have the ability to create/update/delete individual records with interface buttons that open surveys in Fillout, which is slightly clunky but far better than previous alternatives. I've run into a situation where I'd like to make it easier - our list of contacts. It's huge, and things are constantly out of date, and I am DESPERATE to make sure keeping it updated doesn't become my job. I already have a record review page in the interface so I could add a button to go to survey to update that information, it just feels like there will often be batch updates (everyone at this org got new emails or something) where it would be a lot more convenient to have it feel like a spreadsheet. The more I type, the more I think I should just add an update button here too and it'll be fine, but I'm interested to k
For my interface I want a grid view meant for people within my organization with all the fields visible and I want another view of said interface meant for external organizations that only show some of the fields. How do i go about this?
We manage a vehicle fleet and to make it easy for non-technical staff to add vehicles, I have created simplified interface forms with just the necessary fields (and some optional ones). This is great for adding one at a time, however often we will be adding multiple of the same vehicle. being comfortable with large sets of data myself, it's easy enough to just duplicate the record mulitple times in a grid view, however for users not comfortable with a grid view, is there a way for me to add a dropdown or number field or something to my interface form that will create a number of duplicates equal to the number provided in the dropdown/number field? Or is there another simple way to generate duplicate records? Thanks for any help in advance!
Hi! We've created a base with a tab for each project (e.g., Project 1, Project 2, etc.), and within each project, we need to view (in the interface) the payments made, sorted by year. To manage this, we've created a column for each year within the base. However, this setup makes all years visible across all projects, which is not ideal since each project has a different timeline. For example, if Project 1 runs from 2022 to 2025, I would want to see only those years on that project's page, and not years that apply to other projects (like a project spanning 2008 to 2025).In the interfaces, we have different tabs for different projects (e.g., charity projects), but currently, we don't have the option to filter the years so that only relevant years show on each project’s page. Is there a way to display different years per project within the interface, rather than having all the same years appear across all pages?Thank you!
Hi there,I built a custom CRM on Airtable for a client. But I end up with a lot of pages on the interface. So to organize them, my usual habit is to break up the initial single interface into standalone interfaces. One for each category. Like here:But in my client's case, this design choice wouldn't make a lot of sense since a. only one single team will use the interface, b. all the pages refer to the same category (CRM), c. they want something that's as simple to use as possible. So for now, here's the solution I found to sort out the multiples pages. I created blank pages and used them as dividers between sub-groups of pages and renamed those pages '–––'.Have you guys found any other creative workaround for this need?Thank you.
Hi!I just created a form using the newer form builder for the staff to use to submit expense reports, reimbursement requests, etc. All staff have editor permission on our "Expenses" base, where the form populates to. When the staff opens the form, there are buttons along the top of the form that allows them to navigate home, edit the form, or view the data (see picture attached). Is it possible to remove these buttons without changing the staff permission levels? They still need to have editor-level permissions so they can engage with the base in other contexts, but I don't want people to be able to easily or unintentionally change the form or edit the data.
Hi!Really need help, tech support didn't help me.When I click "create record" and want to enter data that I don't have in another table, I want to see a button to create a new record, but I don't have it and I don't know how to make it.I think you will understand everything when you see the two screenshots below. In the "base" mode, the button to create a record is there and when the record is already created, the button is there too.
Hello everyone, I have been greatly enjoying Interfaces, what a wonderful tool, thank you ! However, I don’t understand if and how I can delete a record from inside an interface. For example, I have an interface that is a record list. Above that record list I put a button/link to a form associated with the table from the record list, so that I can create new records. But I don’t understand how I could delete records from inside the interface. For now, I’m going back to my base with grid view, I have to find the record, right click and delete. Not the most efficient. Is is possible to delete a record from inside an interface? If not, did any of you find a decent workaround? Thank you, Ray
Is there currently a way to change the order of forms in the "Form" section of an Airtable Base? Similar to how you can move and group views, automations, and interfaces in their respective sections. Currently it appears that forms are just listed in the order of creation with no ability to group or reorder for ease of viewing on the back end.
The map app works when I am working at table level. When using share or Interface, changes to the Filter do not update the map.Suggestions?
Hi guys, We're building an internal app on Airtable. We would like to know whether we could white-label the app, namely can we change the domain name used in the app URL? Thanks.
It would be nice if you could make an item on a calendar appear taller/larger like how you can with rows in a grid. Is there already a way to do this?Example below, would be more readable if the items were larger especially if toggled in the week or day settings
I've created an interface for my team that displays a Gallery of active projects from our Projects table. I want them to add/remove projects from that interface without having to go the the data. The option to "Allow users to add/delete records inline" sounds great, except for:The popup looks like a form, but there is no submit and the new record is already created. Confusing.Where do I go to delete the record? The pop-up only shows the fields I chose to display in the Gallery, I really want all fields. Otherwise, the user has to create a new record with a few fields and then re-edit it to see all of the fields.I've hacked my way around #2 by adding a Button to the detail page that deletes the record. Not great, but OK.My hack for #1 and #3 is to replace the option with another button that has a hard link to a Form I created. That form then has a hard link to redirect back to the interface after waiting a minute. VERY CLUNKY.Is there a better wa
I can't seem to get labels to appear on my scatter plot even when hovering over the points. I am trying to plot leaf length and head weight for varieties, I'd like to be able to label the points with what variety they represent.
