I am working on an interface for my installers to use in the field. I'd like to add a way for the installer to upload photos. The twist is that I'd like to only have my installers on as commenters, not editors. Is there a way I can set a button to allow the installers to upload a photo to the record?
Hi everyone, I created an interface form to collect data for a program application. One of the questions is a date field that asks the applicant to select a date for an event. When clicking on the date, it automatically opens up a calendar widget which is not very user friendly because you have to manually go back month by month to find the necessary date. Is there a way to disable the calendar widget from popping out? Thank you!
How can I give users who don't have AT license, the ability to add/update/delete data?1. Obviously I can build a form, but that only allows adding, but no update/delete.2. With interfaces, I can build full access functionality, but it is disabled for non-licensed users, giving them only view-only mode. What am I missing?
Hi, I'm really new to Airtable. I was wondering if there was a way to add a button to make fields editable for the Record Detail template. Basically, I want to be able to edit and update the current record on the Record Detail.
We have a paid Teams license - just a few seats for the development team.Am I right in thinking that if we share an Interface by email as readonly, then that doesn't require a paid license for that user?We were going to use Softr as the front end, but it looks like Interfaces gives us better functionality.
I've created a Grid View in my base, and created a specific order by dragging and dropping records (not using a Sort condition). When I share the view, the order is preserved. When I add the view to an interface, the order is NOT preserved. What are my options? Is this a bug that will be fixed? Is there an easy way to create a priority field of some sort instead that will auto-change when I re-order the records based on changing priorities?
Hello,I'm looking for a way to filter records dynamically similar to currently available options "Current user" and "Current user's email". What I have in mind is a formula field in the database that outputs something like "@acme.com", "@company.org". Then, in the interface designer I would like to set up a filter that filters all records and shows them to the user of this domain. A similar feature is available in forms sharing permissions, where I can share a form with users from the specific domain. Thanks to this feature, I could have one interface with dynamic filters, where the user with email ending with "@acme.com" would see all records associated to this company. The current workaround would be creating separate interfaces and sharing them with the necessary users, but if I'm providing services to multiple companies and want to implement some changes or upgrades to the interface, I have to reproduce it in all the separate views.Could this be put on the feature roadmap? €
I've done a lot of searching and tried a variety of suggestions but I can't get this to work. I'm trying to make the viewing of record details in an interface very intuitive for the user. Here is what I've tried:1. Button Field URL Formula: CONCATENATE("https://airtable.com/appxxxxxxx/pagxxxxxxxx" & RECORD_ID()) and CONCATENATE("https://airtable.com/appxxxxxx/pagxxxxxx?detail=" & RECORD_ID()) 2. Created a URL field that contains variations of the URL shown above in #1, along with a Button field that references that field in the formula.3. I found some information that suggested how to get the URL of the record detail view in an interface, but the format of the URL looks nothing like what is posted. This is the format I read that I'd find when I got the URL of a detailed record view: https://airtable.com/tblXXXXXXXXX/viwXXXXXXXXX/recXXXXXXXXX but this is what I get instead: https://airtable.com/appxxxxxxxxxx/pagpxxxxxxxxxxx?de
Interface designer is nice but on mobile it’s quite pointless and I hope I’m mmissing something. Wouldn’t want to use a 3rd party for building interfaces. the list views show a random number of fields see sceenshot below. How can this be fixed? Also, to add a record - you need to ba an editor. So bad 😞 I have loads of people only doing that. Submitting records. Now I must make a workaround - because through a form it works
Hello all,Within a Project Management table and related interface, I have a collaborator field ("Watchers") which is intended to allow users to receive alerts whenever a project they are "watching" is updated.I do not want to show everyone who is watching - I would like only to display information about whether the signed-in user is watching the project, so people don't feel shy about watching projects.I am stumped though, about how to display a "Yes"/"No" answer to the question, does the signed-in user appear in the collaborator list field. Any tips?
Hi,Looking at creating a dashboard for an CRM/ERP application. One key metric to show would be conversion, i.e. percentage of leads that became customers. Since the dashboard "Number" element can only summarise a given column, not perform calculations between columns, I created a new table "BI" to hold various metrics that I will need.In that table it is easy to link e.g. all contacts and perform rollups and formula calculations to get the needed metric. But then I realised I seemingly cannot place an individual record, say "Overall conversion" (formula: customers / all leads) in the dashboard.I found that number or graph elements could be used to summarise e.g. yes/no columns which in a way would show the same information, but I'd prefer a simple "Conversion: 42%" instead of a whole graph with all the other, unnecessary information. How would you go about this?Rgds,Björn
I am using Airtable to manage a sales pipeline. I have created a sales dashboard using interfaces which reads across all opportunities. I want to be able to create quarterly and monthly reports by duplicating this dashboard and then filtering the records it reads to a specific date range.I can't seem to find the option for filtering a dashboard at the global level - does it exist?
Hi Airtable team! Not sure if this is the right place for reporting bugs.I'm also aware that the features being released are all still a work in progress.I have a Kanban interface that is sorted by a date field. It works great on desktop, but not on mobile. On mobile, the records are still sorted alphabetically. I also like the feature on desktop where we're able to hide empty stacks which also has not translated over to mobile yet.I also wouldn't mind if the mobile Kanban looked the same as desktop and we just had to scroll to the right to see more stacks.Again, if improving some of the mobile experience is something already being worked on, that's great! Just wanted to bring attention to the "sorting bug" specifically.
Hello!Anyone have an idea as to why my line graph is a bunch of scribbles? I want to chart number of applicants to specific majors overtime from term to term. The terms are in the correct chronological order on the x-axis, but for some reason the lines start in random terms and jump to other random terms.Thank you for any help!
Hey allBeen working with the new Dashboard option and so far I have had a positive experience. One thing that I seem to have lost is the ability to link to a sidesheet record detail like I can in other Interface page. For example, I have an interface page that is just a list and I am able to open a detail sidesheet from that interface page using a URL like this: https://airtable.com/apptXXXXXXXXXXXXX/pagXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/recXXXXXXXXXXXXXX?tableId=tblXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Which is great, I can hand out that link and people will go to the interface page and the sidesheet opens for the record. It looks like I am unable to do that with the new Dashboard page. Is that correct? Or is there another way to do that?Cheers!
Hi there,I’m using the Interface timeline view to display lots of events that happen over a 2-week period in October 2024. However, for some reason the total date range visible in the timeline view is 1st Feb24 until 20th Jan25 – which means the horizontal scrollbar is tiny, and very difficult to use. I have to scroll very carefully left and right to find my 2 week period. Does anyone know what defines the date range please ? And more importantly, does anyone know how to change it ? I want ONLY my two week period to be viewable, with no ability to scroll to dates before or after. All thoughts gratefully received, thank you !
Hello! I am trying to build an interface that would allow our team to plan out large projects that require multiple tasks, all in one form. For example, I want to input a Project 1, add a description, input a deadline, and add a priority status. This should feed into a Projects table and I assume have a field that links to the task records. In that same form, I want the ability to add smaller tasks that are part of the larger project. Specifically, I want to be able to add tasks, a description or notes, a deadline, and most importantly an assignee to that specific task only (not the project). This should feed into a Tasks table with each task as its own record. One form would be best versus having to create a project on its own and create task records separately. Is there any way to do this? Is this even possible in Airtable?
I'm making a dashboard from an interface, and when I display a number that is the sum or average of a group of fields it always displays the number with two digits after the decimal. Is there a way to round that number to no places after the decimal? Also for some of the numbers, I want to add a dollar sign to the beginning of the number. Is there a way to do that when the number is using a "Number" field?
Hi there!I'm building out a capacity / utilization tracker on Airtable. I'm trying to build a line graph, using either the chart extension or interface tool, comparing utilization per team over a set amount of time. Each of my tasks has an start and end date -- I'm able to see the sum total of utilization per team by end date (i.e., tasks ending in May or June), but I'd like to plot it based off overall duration as I have some tasks that start in one month and end in another. As in, if I have a task that take 15% weekly utilization from May 2nd to June 30th, I'd like it to show up in my team utilization line graph for BOTH May and June, which will help me show total utilization by month. Ideally, I could do this by week, but I'm assuming month is simpler. Is there any way I could do this? I'm wondering if I can do a date-if formula to splice out the months that my task is in and then use that as my X axis? Thanks in advance!
Why is the form interface different than editing an existing record for selected related/lookup fields in another table? The form interface for adding a new record is very minimal and only shows 1 field while editing an existing record shows multiple fields. Ideally, I want the new record form to show more details so I can filter out the best option. Is there any way to get the new form field to show more details?I've attached the screenshots below to show the differences: Adding new record form Editing existing recordBase details: I have a base with multiple tables that use lookup fields. 1 table for Publications1 table for ReferencesThe References table has a lookup to relate to individual Publications.
I'm trying to show the graduation rate and drop out rate of program participants in a dashboard. We used to track both in separate fields to using the percent filled under summary type, but both fields were recently combined into one. I tried to find a way to show an accurate percent of graduates and non graduates with both being under the same field, and have been unable to do so. Is there a way to do it? If so, what is it?I'm trying to show this as a straight up number, and not in graph form.
Hi there,So interfaces seem really helpful, but I essentially can't use *any* of them, because it appears they consume from the 5 request/second per base rate limit that currently causes *all* interfaces to fail. This is because we have many automations already accessing the base, accordingly. Can someone from the Airtable team comment on whether this is intentional? I was hoping the interface designer used a different API rate limit quota than for my backend automations, but it seems that's not the case. Thanks!
We track inventory and want to be able to show our inventory based on where it is located geographically.
Hello, How can I have only the last number entered in the data without needing to put a filter in place with the month indicated ?Thank you so much
