I don't know if this is intentional, but I can't imagine it would be, as every form can be modified in interfaces. Hitting the + button on a Kanban stacking field opens up a form that can't be customized.Only the fields that show on the record as they appear in the Kanban stacking field itself show up on the 'add a new record' form.Is anyone else experiencing this? It makes the Kanban field almost entirely unusable, especially for users who don't quite understand what's going on.Or am I just doing something wrong?
In the interface designer is there a way to calculate the average number of entries added per week?We enter an intake date on the the data page for each new entry.
Hy,my name is Josef, I own a agricultural contracting business and built myself a little interface for managing machines and operators in a timeline view.I spend a lot of time in the Day view, but it is a little bit confusing. First, it is not visible right from the start where the day starts and where it ends. Second, I don't need to see all the hours from midnight to midnight. So the main Question is: is there a way to either Zoom in or to only show a specific range of time like from 5 in the morning to midnight?thxJosef
Apologies if this has already been addressed elsewhere, I couldn't find a similar post and need to get this off my chest 🙂I'm desperate to have the functionality available to add new linked records through an element on an interface in whatever layout / style I need (List, Grid, Kanban...etc). Right now it appears the only way to do this is to add a "Field" element from the linked records, and use the "card" layout. When you add an element like a list, kanban, grid...etc that shows linked records, I want to filter those linked records by the main parent record, AND have the ability to add new linked records to parent record through one of these element layouts. Each element filters properly and appears to keep the button where adding new linked record should be, though it's grayed out, locked, and displays a tool tip saying "this feature is not currently available....etc"The verbiage of the alert leads me to think this is a feature that's coming very soon, or AT would have just r
I am creating a form in Interface Designer. I have fields that are single select. Unfortunately I need the person who is filling out the form to be able to do single select option, if their option is not listed then they are able to use single line of text. When I go to change the preferences it only shows that it can either be mandatory field or not. No option to allow to input text if single select option is not available. Is there a way to make that possible or is that not feasible?
It's hard to explain my problem - Please watch the video of my screenRecording-20230523_073707.webmHopefully someone can help 🙂
Hi! Is there a way to add images to interface? If not, can I use extensions in the interface?
Hello, I recently noticed an issue with the column headers for list elements in interfaces. When you add a prefix field to the list, the column header for that prefix field is not visible. This is fine, except that this affects the alignment of the other column headers within the list. Specifically, the header for the second column that appears in the list (aka the first visible field that is not the prefix field), is aligned on the far left side of the list, over the prefix field instead of the field it's supposed to be referring to. For example, if you want to display project information and your fields include Project Status, Project Title, and Project Staff, and you create a list element with Project Status as the prefix field, and Project Title and Project Staff as the visible fields, you will get a list that has three columns (one for each field), but only two column headers, with the "Project Status" header not visible, and "Project Title" aligned over the status column ins
We are evaluating Airtable for use as a flexible project management system. A significant part of our workflows concern the intake, organization and review of PDF documents (e.g, correspondence, memos, progress reports, etc.).We have a firm grasp on how Airtable can help us with respect to the intake and organization workflows for PDFs as attachments. However, we are struggling with using Airtable to efficiently review PDFs, which is largely a product of our inability to display full resolution (or near full resolution) views of PDFs.The "record review" interface layout would be nearly perfect for our PDF review workflow if we could immediately display a full resolution view of PDF attachments when the record review interface is first opened without the need to click on the attachment, wait for it to open, and only then be presented with the full resolution view of the PDF.Based upon my search of this forum, it appears several people have requested the ability to incorporate full
Scenario: I have a base with a table in it. This base has the grid view, kaban view, and a form view. The form view allows for the creation of new records. When using the Kaban view from within the Data section, it seems very useful in my overall goal in creating a ticketing system. What I am trying to figure out is when creating an interface for these records using Kaban as the element, is there a way to allow for adding 'seeing and adding collaborator's comments' from w/in the Interface? I can see these comments fine in the 'Data>Table>Kaban View' but don't know how to see these comments, let alone add new ones via the Kaban view in my interface. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
From what I have explored in the Interface Designer, I find it difficult to create a combination of Line and Bar Chart. Is it possible to do this in Interface Designer?
It would be fantastic if Chart Elements could serve as a linked filter for Grid Elements, in that highlighting a certain column of the chart would automatically apply that value as a filter to a grid of records elsewhere in the interface. This is especially needed in Interfaces since the Chart App in our bases is already capable of showing you components records when clicked!
Hi there. Has anyone figured out how to filter records in Interfaces for current week? I want to summarize values for this ongoing week and don't really know how right now. Thanks!
I just spent 1/2 hour trying to figure out why I couldn't get DELETE to show up active when I was trying to delete an interface under the new UI. (Which btw, this is seriously over-complicating how to delete btw)I ended up deleted elements instead of deleting the interface because it is so confusing.
Is it just me or is this the worst placed delete button ever? That's where the close button goes, guys... Good job there's an undo feature!
I'm afraid I don't love the new lefthand sidebar menu which is due to be rolled out next week. It takes up valuable space which would be better used for interface elements and data. The reduction in available space means that we'd need to redesign some interfaces, as data and field names are now truncated and don't display correctly.Perhaps it could be adjusted so the sidebar rolls out when the user hovers over the far left of the screen, or similar?
All of the sudden, my users can now create records in linked fields in Interfaces. I have no way to toggle this off. This is a HUGE problem for the reliability of our business workflow and for keeping safety rails up. This needs to be fixed ASAP! Anyone else notice this?
Hello,We are creating an interface that is filtered by collaborator is current user. But collaborators can be of 2 kinds (from a simple select: commercial and analyst). And both fields have to appear in the record in the interface. So that a Commercial collaborator knows who is the analyst assigned to this process, and vice versa. And also, so that in the collaborator field only a Commercial collaborator can be chosen for that field, and only an Analyst can be chosen for the other field. We have tried to use linked fields to a different table with User, Type of user (commercial, analyst). And then we do get the right people in the right role... but of course, then you don't get the current user filter in the interface.Looking around and with many tries, we have found no way to do this. How would we be able to do this?
I need to be able to interface general information, name, email address, title, phone number, to external clients so that they can edit the data and the changes are also automatically made on our end, on our base.
Previously had the blue bar highlighted on the left on the with each subsection to chose from and this was originally show across the top bar. Unfortunately, Airtable recently updated their format and now this bar appears on the left side as shown and the format is much worse. Has anyone run into this issue and is there an easy fix? Really annoyed that Airtable is changing Interface designs.. Thanks!
I love how the Interface Designer allows for the pop up window to add records to a base. This is great, I just hate that it follows the permissions set by adding into the regular base. I don't want Staff to be able to enter a new line into the base, rather follow the steps laid out in a form. This is why previously we used a form link to add new records. However, the Interface Designer Add button does not allow any person to add new records into the base regardless of permissions, only those with the permission to add new records. It should be like how the forms work. Drew
Love the new list view in the interface designer that allows for hierarchies of info, however I'm having an issue w/ formatting! I've noticed that if I have more than 2 levels, it's the second level that has the bolded, larger heading text. This not only makes no sense, but it looks horrible and makes it visually hard to digest when one record starts and another ends in a long status list. Is there a way to make the top level have the bold heading text?
I am running into an issue with an interface.Trying to use a form to add a record, one of the Single Line Text fields is shows as "Invalid visual variant", not allowing data to be entered.Any thoughts on how to fix this? This particular field is not linking to any other records, there is no formula associated with it either.
Happy New Year everybody. Is there a way to justify text in Interface Designer ?
Is there any plan to add Text color option to Text Elements and X/Y axis labels in the Interface design?I am trying to create some nice dashboards for a small client to monitor the results of their surveys/questions in the surveys. The client provided feedback that bold would be a nice start to the X/Y but something other than Grey is so hard to read.
