I see a new layout option is available on the interface designer. Selecting this option just populates an empty page with a drop-down field off all my tables. I cannot for the life of me find anything anywhere in Airtable that might allow me to add an interface extension. Having the Base extensions in the interface would be SO amazing.
in airtable interface we created an interface that can create a treatment plan automatically by using scripting but now our client are having difficulty creating the treatment plan automatically as it continue to show timeout. Don't know why is like that?
Hi all, I’m trying to setup a project management database with a grouped timeline view in an interface. I’ve worked out how to colour my individual ‘phases’ but it appears there is no way to recolour the overview lines that show the overview timelines of each group. See screenshot below The default colour is very hard to see on white (Shown in the green box below) , and the overview line on the top-most group (shown in the red box) is essentially invisible… Is there any way to change these default colour schemes? currently this limitation is standing in the way of Airtable being a usable timeline management tool for us.
Hello Airtablists! 👋🏻I am trying to improve our documentation and I’d like to keep running lists of active interface pages. I don’t see any extensions like Field List or Base Schema for the interfaces. Does anyone have a solution for getting a quick list of all of your pages? Ideally currently published, but getting all would also be ok.Thanks for your thoughts!
Hey everyone,In my databases interface section I have two interfaces containing several list views, that are of course referring to the same data. The first interface is ment to be for typing in data in our planning process and mostly used from desktop devices. The second interface is for executing purposes and is mostly used on mobile devices on location. This interface should be read only.Summarized:When we are in the office, we are planning and typing in data in the first interface. When we are out of office, executing jobs, we log in to our accounts an our mobile devices to read the condensed and important data.BUT:What we are faceing is, that it seems, that within the interface section of our data base alle lists behave the same in terms of a field being read only or being editable. In easy words: When I change the status of a field from read only to editable in one list in the interface section it does this not only in this list, where I am changing it but in all lists, that show
Hello,we have a ticket/appointment form, where we add all relevant team members to the appointment. Now I would like to create a page in timeline form, where I group by single team members and see all the appointments that are assigned to this person.Currently this is the case: I add an appointment through the form and select multiple team members. Then, in the view, if grouped by the Team Members, it shows me for each combination of team members the appointment. How do I change this, that I see for each team member the appointments?Do I need to create additional fields in the base? Thank you so much for your support!Best,Philip
Good morning everyone,In my company, I manage the content of all our Airtable bases. We’re on the Team plan, and the 10+ other members have Read-Only access.Interfaces : We provide multiple Read-Only interfaces to make the data easier to view.Scripting Extensions : We use scripting extensions that can manipulate table data (for example, to get the published versions history from one of our tools).Forms : I plan to add forms so team members can interact with some of our base content (for example, to submit development tickets). My questions :Interfaces : If I add an editable field in 1 of my interface to make the large text areas easier to manage, will Read-Only users be able to edit content ? If they do, will these actions incur charges ? Is the logic applicable if i make the entire interface editable ?Scripting extensions : Similarly, if a Read-Only member launches a script that appends changes to a table, will we incur extra charges ?Forms : If a member submits a form that adds conten
Hey everyone,I think I’ve raised this before, but unsure if there’s a workaround …It seems from a record template, you can’t add an assignee to a task, who doesn’t have base access permissions? I guess the logic is that they won’t be able to view the task in the base?Similarly, if you have 2 views, eg) Admin and Tasks, with views of the same list of tasks, you can’t assign a task to someone in the Admin view, that only has access to the tasks view, even though they’re the same tasks?Any thoughts / experience with this? The main pain point is the Record Templates assignee field, as we can’t fully automate assignees in recurring project tasks, so they need to be manually added / an automation created.
Hi Community, I would like to create a new record that is automatically linked to a parent record when I click "+ Add record" in the interface detail view of my parent record in Airtable Interface. To try to explain clearly, my database is comprised of two hierarchies in two different tables.Table 1 is "Communications" and contains the parent records.Table 2 is "Web Articles" and contains the child records that are linked to a "communication" record in table 1.When I am in the interface list view of the "communications" table, and click on the details of the "communication" record, I can see my linked web articles (see screenshot 1).The only way to add a new record from here is to create one with a form. If I then try to add a new record (+ Add article), it opens a form to create a new record in the child "web articles" table, but there does not seem to be any way to link this new record directly to the parent record through which I clicked "+add article" in the details view, even
Hello !this might sound strange but I'm encoutering issues while wanting to allow users to edit or add new records to a list view in an interface. Sometimes the toggle button to allow this just doesnt exist ... this is quite frustrating and I haven't figured out the way out of this. Please help 🙂 See screenshot
Hello! I’m working on a series of budget interfaces for my team members in a university office, and I want them to be able to edit certain fields of their personal budget “dashboards” (not the Airtable Dashboard interface style, just the word they’re using) without editing all of the details...which would open us up to folks potentially messing up other important info by mistake. Currently we have the dashboards viewable as grids, because they give us the option to have Sums at the bottom of each column, showing folks what their running balance is for each budget category. However, the only way I can seem to get the “edit this column” option is by using a List view, instead of a Grid, which doesn’t calculate the sum automatically. Is there a workaround for this folks have seen? Essentially, I want them to be able to edit some-not-all of the records’ fields, and I want an automatically calculated sum at the bottom of the grid/list/etc. Ideas? (The two images below illustrate what we’ve
Hey everyone,I’m trying to imbed an image of our plant into a dashboard I have created. The goal is to create a “heat map” of all existing product based on concentration and location. I have everything else completed, but can’t figure out for the life of me if I’m able to do this as it’s crucial to the completion of the dashboard.
I want to be able to see more information for my events in the calendar interface, similar to Notion and/or Clickup. Airtable only allowing me to show everything on a single line makes it really messy - I want to be able to see it as multi-line. Putting it all as labels is insanely messy. Hoping that someone has a possible solution for this - is there a place where I can put in a feature request? This seems like something that exists on most scheduling apps I’ve seen, really disappointed to not have it in Airtable.
I'm using the new Form Builder to create a form to share publicly. I published the form, and created a link for "Anyone on the web." However, if anyone tries to submit the form without being logged into AirTable, they get the following message, and the form never submits. Any ideas or workarounds?: Refresh page to submit formThis form has been updated. Refresh the page to submit your form. Any information you already entered will be saved, but not submitted.
Hi all,This has been asked before, but the previous topic didn't get any replies: We’re encountering the same issue: the record revision history looks different when viewed from the Data side versus the Interface side. Is this a bug, or is there an underlying logic we might be missing? DataInterface
I can’t believe I couldn’t find an entry about this in this forum yet. Hmm ok, here’s my problem: Every time I open Interfaces it goes straight into the editor and I have to click launch to use it. For me (main administrator and builder) it is annoying but works. Now my user back from holiday wanted to access and couldn’t. It gives a message that says to click on launch or ask the owner. No launch button though. I opened the interface on my side, had to click launch again did so and she could get in. This obviously is quite an annoying and NOT acceptable behavior. I have no idea where and how to change this behavior? Please help
I am building a base for our clients. Goal is to have them access their data through a portal. They will want to print professionally formatted reports with our company logo and page breaks. Are the print options in portals the same as interfaces? If so, this will not fit our needs. Would you suggest we use a 3rd party such as Documint?
I'm curious about this new Portals feature and where it is going. Is anyone using Portals? What is your experience?- vs. existing third party portal app (e.g. Softer, Glide, Noloco)- Mobile availability- Setting permissions and inviting users (e.g. partners, vendors)- Price/value- Sharing interfaces already used internally as portals vs. creating dedicated interfaces- Collaborating with portal users via comments
I would like to send out an email through automation and share a link to a specific record in an Interface. Is this possible? Regards, Ruchika
Hi everyone! I'm trying to create automations such as emails and Slack messages to send reminders to my team to update certain projects (records) in a project management interface. When we were using data mode, I simply linked to the Record URL in the body of the message in the automation. Is there a way to link to a specific project/record in the record review layout? Or perhaps in the record summary layout? Here's a link to the video I sent to customer support. I haven't heard back from them and they suggested posting here. https://www.loom.com/share/d6166031e85e47afaf7e1311866f7b88thanks! Megan
I have a view on an interface for a large database of plays that I want to group by their playwrights. I have added in a user action that allows this to happen. However I have to click ‘Group’ and select ‘Group by Writer’ every time I open the interface. Is there any way to ‘lock’ this grouping so that the plays are grouped in this way every time I open the database? The first picture is how I’d like the database to open and the second is how it does open (where I then have to manually group them).Grouped Airtable Ungrouped Airtable
Hello! In the interface, I have a kanban section with some cards where 4 fields shows, aside from the name of the cards. Now my problem is that those fields also show their title. So at the moment it look like this:Garry’s PubTypeCADAddress157 Rue de VilléCityMontréalBut I want it to look like this:Garry’s PubCAD157 Rue de VilléMontréalAnd I cannot find the option to hide the field titles anywhere.Anybody with better luck than me here?
Trying to find a solution to always show every month in a range. Pivot tables don’t provide any customization for this, so I am trying to reimagine data in a dashboard/interface bar chart. There is an option to show empty records, but as you can see its still skipping months. This is a single select field, with every month as an option. I want to see months that are missing any selections. I’ve also tried it with a date field updated to bucket by month, but still same issue. What am I missing?
Hi all Does anyone know if Airtable has considered other options for date pickers?Currently it doesn’t allow for choosing years (which you usually can on typical date picker forms). So unless you use your keyboard, it’s not practical to move to other years or even months ahead. Looking forward to your thoughts. Soeren
I have been working on a few bases an just want a steer on best practice re conditional logic on forms for Interface users. So for example if I have two record pickers on the form, one is to select Client, then there is one to select a project, I only want to see Projects relating to the client that I have chosen aboveIt seems that I can’t really do this with a native Airtable form, but I have been able to do it with Fillout forms, which is great for forms being used by external users, such as customers. My question is how do people provide this functionality to internal interface users? Do you have to link out to the Fillout form from the interface or can it be embedded within the interface in some way. I am on a Team plan. Thanks
