Hello all. I am hoping to organize my backpacking gear with AirTable. Weight is an important attribute of each item. What’s the best way to add a field for weight? Ideally, I would like to set up the field so it could calculate both lbs and oz. So 18 oz would recalculate to 1 lb 2 oz. Is that possible, or should I just keep things simple and record everything in ounces? Thanks for your help.

Hello, I was curious if it’s possible for a formula to return the Day of the Week from Date Field? So, if my Date field reads, “9/27/2022,” is it possible for a formula to understand that this date is, “Tuesday?” Thanks.

Hi All! For the Gantt Chart view, does anyone know if there's a way to have airtable automatically adjust all dependent task start dates when the predecessor task is moved up (backward in time)?  I see that airtable automatically pushes out all dependent tasks automatically (this is great) but if a task duration is shortened or end date is moved back, all of the dependent tasks stay exactly where they are. Is there a setting I need to turn on to enable automatic date adjustments in both directions?  This seems like a very basic feature for Gantt charts and doesn't quite make sense to have it only for updates in one direction but not the other! Jack

I have a database of students in various "home rooms" each assigned a teacher.  I can easily create a view that shows the students in that homeroom that I can send to the teachers, however, there is one more record in another table that is linked to the teacher that shows their budget of what they can spend each month and how much they get for each class.  How can I send them a "dashboard" that has the records of their students, AND the one record for each teacher that has their budget? Thanks,Jeff

Hi, I am using an attachment field and looking to upload the attachments from my google drive. I was able to connect my google drive however it is only letting me choose attachments from ‘My Drive.’ I am looking to choose the attachments from ‘Shared Drives’ as it is a team folder. Does anyone know if and how this is possible? Thanks in advance.

Apparently when a dash aka minus sign is used as the first character of a text field, a single quote is inserted in CSV export. There's no need for this and it confusing when you expect a normal CSV export behaviour.Can you please list the extra character insertions you do beyond what the CSV format requires?EDIT: it's inconsistent even. Sometimes it inserts a single quote (that isn't there in the data) and sometimes it doesn't. Even two rows below each other.% grep -o '..\- C[^ ]\+' exported.csv,"- Choice"'- ChoiceAfter experimentation, we found that a single quote is inserted at the start of the value if:- The value starts with a dash- The value contains an opening round bracket (aka parenthesis)This sounds like a bug rather then a feature to me.

Hi,I am stuck with the following (most probably simple) problem -I am getting a records list of a tableI am filtering the list acc to 3 criteria (name, type, date) this all works fine, I log a correctly filtered object in the consolethen I want to get the value of the column with the name „tac_descr“ (variable set at the beginning of the script) of the found object/row.This should be done in the „active_descr“ definitionPls see the error in the console; no clue what is wrong; I have the correct object filtered (active_immo_tacs) and I just want to display the cell value of the column „tac_descr“ of „active_immo_tacs“. Could anyone pls help me on that? thank you very much - I am now trying to solve this since hours…

Wondering if there is anyone interested collaborating on the creation of a habit tracker base I’ve been working on. The idea is this: Place those paperthin RFID tags in the places where my habit takes place. Reading → Kindle Cover Exercise → On my shoe rack next to my gym shoes. Brush/Floss —> Next to my tooth brush When I do that habit, I just bump the tag with my phone. (This is basically a frictionless way to habit track, which I like) If that specific habit is a Yes/No kind of thing, a checkbox will be ticked in my Airtable. (I’m presently accomplishing this through IOS Shortcuts though I’m sure that Tasker can do the same thing for Android.) So I know how to create and restore from a Snapshot.As I understand it, I can rename the restored snapshot with the name of the old (corrupted, that's why I'm restoring) Base, and go on my way.But wait! All the links, forms, and sharing relate to the old base (of course)! So I have to reshare the new Base with all those folks, update links to the Base anywhere they exist, and give people with links to the old Forms, Views, etc, new links. What a pain!Am I missing something? Is there a better way?

I have tried to contact AirTable support, but can get no response from them so I will post this here.Airtable has a very nasty bug if you change a text field containing a large numeric value to a number (integer) field, it changes the data values.  The attached video shows two fields, the left one is a TEXT field, the right field is just a copy of the left for reference.In the video you will see me change the type of the left field from TEXT to NUMERIC (integer) - See that this changes every value in the field with no warning at all.  I am guessing that it only does this on large numbers, I have not tested further.

I need to revert an airtable back to 7/20/23. It is in the list attached. But the Create button will not let me select it or any other date on the list.

I have two tables, one for active projects and one for completed projects. I want to move complete projects from the active projects table to the completed projects table. I don't mind doing it manually (the volume of weekly change is low), and I don't mind copying from active to complete and then deleting the record from the first table after I've successfully added it to the second table. But I cannot figure out how to do any of this, and searching the help info and community hasn't helped. All I've found so far is "copy record URL" which doesn't seem to be useful at all. I'm sure I'm just being dim here, but I need some step-by-step guidance on what to do here. TIA!

hello, newbie question. someone who uses softr with an account and who sends and receives data by softr thanks to a personal space must have an airtable account? for example if softr is used as a platform for users who register and create an account in softr to provide, use, operate and retrieve information that will be recorded in Airtable. Hi, Hope all reading this are well and staying safe. I’m creating a Business Dashboard with a range of graphs for different purposes. Some of these are stacked charts. My need is to achieve consistent order and colour of category groupings in charts, in two ways: Consistent order and colour of category groupings when changing a stacked bar chart to a stacked line chart. Airtable seems to take control and change the order and colour (see screenshots below). Please note: in creating the stacked line chart I simply copied/duplicated the stacked bar chart, and made one adjustment: changed the chart type from bar to line. I have built a couple dashboards in an Airtable Base which I am happy with. But the downside is they are a bit buried and hard for others to find so I am considering leveraging the Interface Designer tool to display them. What’s the most efficient way to get Dashboards that already exist in a base over to interfaces? It almost seems like I have to re-build them using the interface designer which I am dreadding - is there a quicker way to port them over? Which area has more graph customization options - building dashboards within a base using the Apps or Dashboards layout w/in Interfaces? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Hi, I'm facing the deduping issue. The situation is that when I dedupe records in Airtable, the checkmarks in a column disappear. From the attached file, one record with "opportunity" column should have a checkmark✅ and the other one doesn't have. However, it showed that both records don't have checkmarks at all. Kindly let me know how to solve it! Thanks a lot

I work for a nonprofit company and we have been trying to purchase an enterprise plan from Airtable since December 2022.The agents have not been professional and have not gotten back with anything tangible for over 2 months.We have received no response and we would really like to proceed. Sales and Customer Support haven't been helpful either and we have been reassigned to several agents with no contract in sight.Is this an internal issue?Quite disappointed with the level of service.

I have two tables; my primary table is a listing of our inventory units that we are running promotions for; when an inventory item sells, we add it's stock number to table 2. I'm looking for a way to set the status of each record in table 1 so that it shows as "for sale" if its stock number doesn't exist in table 2, and gets updated to "sold" when its stock number is added to table 2 as sold. Any ideas on how to best achieve this?
