Hello- I saw this formula for creating SKU’s based off of Single Selects and codes: SWITCH( {Product Category}, “Mural”, “MUR”, “Magnets”, “MAG” ) & “-” & SWITCH( {Class}, “Economy”, “EC”, “Deluxe”, “DX”, “Premium”, “PM”, “Platinum”, “PT” ) & “-” & SWITCH( {Substrate}, “Canvas”, “CN”, “Wood”, “WD” ) & “-” & SUBSTITUTE({Size}, " x ", “”) & “-” & SUBSTITUTE({Product Name}, " ", “”) My Question is: Is there a way to not specifically call out the IF selected in the field types, basically what ever you select becomes the “CODE” - because I have thousands of selections that would not work here - would take me forever to write and I don’t want to have to add new ones as the new parts come in - make sense?

I started working on an Airtable Template and there was sample data in it. I didn’t realize I had to clear the sample data before using it. I did some manual deletions and then started entering new data. I then got a bunch of popups wizards to guide me through using it. I saw an option to Delete Sample Data. I clicked on that assuming it would only delete the sample data - not new data entered! It deleted everything. I’ve checked all the ways to restore (trash icon, snapshot, revision history, workspace trash) and it’s like the info never existed. Is there any way I can get this restored? Or do I have to start from scratch again :sob:

Hi ! We have a search app installed on a base, the app is configured to search accross 5 tables. When we search for “permis” (in French), the search return results for word starting with “perm” like “permanence” for instance, but that’s not relevant at all. Also, it only search content starting with the search keywords. For instance, if we search “entreprenariat”, it won’t return content with the words “l’entreprenariat”, again, that’s not relevant at all. Is there a way to know exactly the search rules for the app ? Or a way or another to configure the rules ? Because, as is, it’s quite useless… Thanks, Nicolas

Hi, I have no coding experience, Im trying to run a Vlookup to search a value from a single select field (integrated from jotform) and bring a value from another table related to that value. Saw a script on youtube but won’t work, the only difference with the video is that the selectRecordsAsync is crossed out.

I have a base where we log samples into and out of our laboratory. Samples in and out are in separate tables. Samples out has a link to the corresponding sample in. In the samples out table I have a link field (multiple selection) to a separate table that lists the tests that are done on the samples that go out. We started with a simple multi select but changed to the current system so that we could associate more information with the list of tests (methods to be used, approved laboratories, levels of detection etc.). We have set up a second base where we record the various test results for each sample. We could do this in the original base but for various complicated reasons we need a separate base for this. Each time a new sample out record is added to the first base, the second base is updated with a new record, ready to record results against. Hey! I’m working with a base that has a number of tables broken down by category that archive information from different team members. We’d like to be able to track and share out via a weekly email how many ‘rows’ each team member added across the entire base that week. I’m really at a loss as to how to do this in an efficient way. Is there a limit to the number of options you can have for a multi select field? If so, what is the upper limit?

When I change the filters, and therefore the visible records, I would like there to be a field that numbers the records. The reason is I want to copy and paste only the records I use over to a collaborative view that has sorting turned on, and the rearranging makes it difficult to do last minute updates.

I have a table with all customers to be invoiced. They are to be invoiced monthly on a set date. I have a data creation date as well as the day to be invoiced (i.e. every 25th of the month, the fields is only 25) I want to create the following: from the creation date (for example may 10th), create the next date that is day 25 (therefore may 25th). is there a formula to do this? Thank you!

Since yesterday Airtable doesn’t seem to work well in Chrome. Selecting, importing and copy of data is a real burden. In other browsers, it works fine. Anybody else with these issues?

Hi All, I am working on the feasability of a rental application for holiday houses with airtable. My first target is to allow a user to fill in a form where he would enter an arrival date and choose from a choicelist all the possible stays available containing this date. Do you think this would be possible with airtable? Thanks for reading :winking_face:

Hello Airtable Community, I have three table: In table A is the column Fruits. In table B there is the column Vegetables. In table C I need to create a column called Fruits and vegetables, and that allows me to select records from Table A, column Fruits, and from Table B, Column Vegetables. That is to say: I need a column C to call me the records of the Fruit column (found in table A) and the Vegetable column (found in table B). I know how to link tables and do look-ups, but I don’t know how to integrate in the same column different records from different columns in different tables. I appreciate your help.

I logged out tried to log in back using my google account, but it looks like it’s a different account, I can’t see any of my workspaces or databases. I don’t remember, but I suppose I create an account using my email not my google account but it’s the same gmail. I guess when I logged in using the google account this account overwrote my old one since they have the same email. I hope someone from airtable can recover my databases and link them to my email. Hi I have a table with a lookup from another table in a grid view in which the result is Brown. When I go to the calendar view to select the field for the color, it’s not in the list of options. Thank you!

Help! I have an automation set up that when a new record is created in one table, to create a list of ‘to-do’ items in another table. Both tasks are related by their matching ID’s. (It’s a monster of an automation, so I had to shrink it to fit! lol) The problem is that when a new record appears in the 1st table it ‘fires’ the automation, right? But most of the time it is ‘firing’ so fast that it misses the ID number in the 2nd table and JUST lists all of the ‘tasks’. What am I doing wrong here??? Thanks, DG

Hello all! I am working on a project where I am inputting data that we collect into one table based around different areas we collect from and how many days it took to collect data. In the other table, I have been manually updating the rate of collection. It is structured by: Column 1 - Date Data Collected (with some repeat dates as multiple collections happen in a single day sometimes), Column 2 - Single Selection Dropdown of the Area Collected From, and then another Column - Data Points Collected. With these columns, is it possible to update data in another table that has a list of all the offices in one column and their estimated rate of collection in another column based on new data input into the first table. I hope this makes sense and thank you for your help!

Hello Airtable community, I´m having a difficulty for finding how many times a specific category (that is in a multi-select field) appears in a table where I´m tracking specific “needs” mentioned in 1:1 interviews. How can I do? Part B of the question (once the other part is solved) One more thing. In the report I may have the same person more than one time and I don´t want to double count the needs, what do you recommend me to do for this?

How do you set it up for everything?

I need an automation that, when there is a new record received in one table, to check a box with the matching ID in another table. THE BREAKDOWN: I have a (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” in table1 that, when the balance = $0, sends out a “Cust Survey”. The ‘Survey’ is identified by the same (unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number. WORKING PERFECTLY! I then have the “Survey Results” table, or table2. When a new set of ‘Survey Results’ are received in table2, we need to locate and match the “(unique ID) four-digit “Repair Order” number in table1 and check the “Survey Received” checkbox in that table. All the sudden I can’t think of a flow for the automation!?!

My base is used by salespeople to provide quotes for flights. Sometimes the same trip request is sent to multiple people on my team. I want to eliminate duplicate quotes. I need a way to notify a salesperson when 5 different fields are the same as a different record in the base. Any ideas? I would like to put this in a field so it can easily become an alert

Hi, is there a way to see the last changes that were made to a task in Airtable? I’m looking for a way to keep track of changes developers are doing for tasks in the project scope during the day/week, currently, I can only see the last status of a task and the last updated by and last updated time or open tasks one by one but its too detailed. I already configured Slack notifications but it’s hard to track the changes per project/filter by user etc.

Hi, I’m wondering if there is any way to create a form view in such a way that submissions can be made (by anyone with the link), but so that the record wouldn’t go live in another shared view until each entry was approved by a Moderator (i.e. me!)? I can’t think of a simple way to implement this function, but wondering if anyone else has tried this approach and found a work around?

Hi Everyone, First time posting a question here :slightly_smiling_face: I have a grid with different jobs, and I’d like to create a form for people to apply to the jobs posted. I’d like to enable people who submit the form to choose a job title and company from a dropdown. I’d also like the enable them to upload their CV and cover letter, but without it affecting the fields in the grid (I don’t want the grid to include the files). Once submitted I’d like an automated email to be sent to the employers with all the details of the applicant (I’ll have the relevant email for each company in the grid, so I’ll have to pull this data in the automation). How would you approach this? Thanks! Arik
