Hi Community, I would like to do something rather simple however, I am struggling with linking tables. I have an E-mail address column in table A and the same in table B. All addresses from B are in A, but not all of A are in B. Whenever a new record (including a 5-star rating column) is added in B, I would like to synch A such that the rating is reflected in a column there too. Thus, similar to VLOOKUP in Excel, when the e-mail addresses match, Airtable should pull the rating in B to A. Any ideas?

Hi community. I am trying to “clean up” my list of collaborators by converting all email addresses from personal or @gmail addresses to our @organizational email addresses. When i delete or remove the collaborator with the gmail or hotmail address, I resend an invite to their organizational email. Some have accepted the invitation but it has their @gmail address listed again. What could be the cause of that?

I have listed multiple addresses in the cell for the maps app, however only the first address listed in the cell is plotted on the map. Is it possible for the maps app to pick up multiple addresses listed in one cell? Thanks!

In Google Sheets, I’m experimenting with making a Sheet to log blood test results. Types of things (eg. proteins, minerals, red blood count) tested for are on the Y axis. Adjacent, each has a normal-range threshold, defined by the lower limit and the upper limit. Then, the subsequent X axis includes a number of different date columns, carrying the specific numerical result for each test type. Due to complexity of views, I can imagine using an Airtable Table eg. to group test types - eg. there are a number of White Blood Cell test types. But how else / how well could this translate to Airtable? Each thing tested for has a normal range, defined by two column cells containing the lower and upper thresholds, accordingly. This allows me to use Conditional Formatting to shade the cell background cell green/red if the reading is out of range. What can I do with Airtable here? Indeed, do I have the axes the right way around?

I cant work out how to produce a report in page designer without it taking a seperate page for each record. I expect I am missing a really obvious setting but I cqannot find it. Thanks for any help.

Hello Friends! I’ve been getting very excited by the Gantt view! Especially the ability to push tasks and have all of the following tasks push with it. Is it possible to pull all of the following tasks when pulling tasks backwards? Or a way to update a set of records to have no “dead” space between tasks? Thank you! Paul Warren

Context: We have an airtable form for speakers to submit a topic, bio, date, and time for their workshop and our speakers are from all over the country. Issue: We wanted people to be able to select their own date and time. From there we had an automation that, once we changed the status internally on the grid view to “Add to Calendar”, the automation would add the event to Google Calendar. It all worked perfectly until we had someone from another time zone use the form. We’ve tried toggling on and off the “Use GMT for all collaborators” and we tried telling people to enter the time zone as Eastern, but in both cases we haven’t been able to have this process flow as intended. Are we missing something? Is it possible for someone to enter a date on a form and have that form consistently give us a date/time in Eastern?

Dear Community, Could you please help me with an airtable billing plans. For now I have a workspace with a free plan with 12 collaborators with an “editor” access that I’ve added for free. I’d like to add another workspace as a paid “Pro”. I know that I need to pay for each collaborator that I invite in a “Pro” workspace. My question here, do I need to pay to my existing collaborators within a free workspace when I have a paid workspace? Thank you!

Hey everyone, here’s an advanced question: We have 4 AirTable bases, all of which have their own version of a table called “Sales”. I am currently centralizing the 4 different Sales tables by creating a 5th base which has the other 4 tables synced to it (via sharing the views with no filters). Let’s call this the Central Base. What we need to do now is to take specific columns for all 4 tables synced to the Central Base, and put them in a new table called “Central Sales”. Here’s an idea of how it would look like: So the “Client” column on all 4 other Sales tables would feed the “Client” column on the Central Sales table. This is what I don’t know how to do. I duplicated a table, and I have a column of long text, where I wrote A LOT of text in 2 different cells. When I wanted to copy that text, it disappeared and showed me a text from a different cell. I need this information - why did it happen and how can find it?

Hi. A Euro problem, mainly. I am importing data from Filemaker via Excel, all on a Mac. However I save the CSV file to be imported, the accented characters don’t import. I can correct them on-screen, so it isn’t that your system doesn’t accept such characters, just that it doesn’t accept them in a CSV file. Is there a solution?

I have three air tables in one workspace. One as a blog calendar, thought leadership calendar and social content calendar. Is there a way to pull all these dates into one calendar?

The manual way to copy text described above doesn’t work for fields Long Text Fields with Rich Text Formatting because if there is a rich text formatting in the copied text, doing Copy and Past (at least on MacOS) will add line breaks after every block of text and you end up with double or tripple line breaks. I don’t care about preserving formatting, just don’t want to end up with line breaks. So I am avoiding quotes and end up with linebreaks doesn’t help. This is a minor annoyance with copying text out of Airtable. Unless you do the extra steps to only copy selected text, copying the entire cell will add (mostly) unwanted quotes marks at the beginning and end of the copied text. Before you can use in another appliation, it’s almost always neessary to strip the quotes away from the text. There are a few tools on Windows but on Mac there are less options due to sandboxing etc, however, there are a few that work. If you are on MacOS, there is TextMate is one, WordServi

Want to confirm that you have to have a “date” field type to create a calendar view…is that correct? For example, you can’t create a calendar view if your date field is “single text” type…

Hey everyone! I’m making Airportal, which lets you hook up your Airtable base and make a portal where your customers can log in, and view and edit data that only pertains to them (i.e. with permissions). So I’d love to ask the Airtable community: are you interested in this? The portal works using the email address of your customers from one of your bases (you just need to pick which one!) and then automagically handling the login and making sure they can only see the records related to them. I hope this is going to be really useful for allowing customers to manage their data, their orders, their products… or whatever else you have stored in your bases! UPDATE I was able to get it working with the below code. However, Interfaces does not allow buttons that run scripts, so I’m back to square one on finding a one-way trigger for the linked record creation. We have an existing automation to create a linked record based on the action of a user checking a box in a specific field. The problem is that if the box is unchecked and checked again it creates a duplicate linked record. I would like to replace the box-checking user action with a button, this way the button is one-directional, meaning it can check the box but it can’t uncheck the box. I’m new to scripts and I’m trying to understand how I can make a script that checks the box. I imagine this should be REALLY basic, but I’m struggling to figure it out based on other scripting tutorials I’ve found. Hello all! I’ve searched and have not been able to find a solution for this. I want to be able to reference a column and change all names that appear in one column to PROPER names (which can easily be done in excel) Use Case: Folks are signing up for a service we offer and they input their names in some crazy ways. But we want to convert sloppy username case with Proper case so that the certificates we offer look consistent and classy, instead of having things like: john doe JOHN DOE John DOE etc. We’d like to take those examples and be able to uses a “PROPER” formula to change them to autocorrect to “John Doe” Thanks for any help with this. (hoping there’s some formula or hack we can use that doesn’t require some extra manual steps!)

Individuals in my organization have shared some bases with me which show up in the Bases Shared With Me workspace, but I would like to move them to different Workspaces that correspond with the topic of the shared bases. I do not see how to move a Based from Shared With Me to other workspaces.

Since a few days, all my items in calendar view are viewed as a one hour item. Even if they were noted for a longer duration before. Usually I could extend the duration by drag the item at the bottom. This is now impossible. There is an end date and time set, but even with an end time longer as an hour noted, the item stays as one hour. In the expand view I can see the end time and it’s longer than one hour. This is most annoying since some items have a duration of a whole day, and I need to see that so I know that I can’t plan anything else that day.

We are creating an online library of STEM lessons. Option 1, what we’re currently doing, is make all the lessons visible to the world. With this option, we would like only a few views visibile. (The audience is engineers who go into classrooms. Half of us like the gallery view, half of us like the spreadsheet view, and many of us like one view on the computer and the other on a phone.) Option 2 is limit it so only our members can see it. Is there a View Only Role, so most members would not be able to edit? There doesn’t appear to be an option for this. If only our members see it, I’m happy with more views being visible, as long as they can’t edit them. (Engineers love seeing behind the scenes.) We’re still debating the pros and cons of each method, but ultimately we have to use what the platform allows.
