Hi AT community! Is there a way to extract a persons name from an email address? I have a form that requestors fill in that automatically creates a record. In the form it asks for an email address, and there’s another column for their name. If column A has the email address they entered, I’d like column B to hold their name. Also, all company emails follow a pattern of: fname.lname@domain.com How can I add “fname lname” into column B? I just need what’s before the dot, and after the dot with a space in between.

Hello. I recently created a survey in Airtable and can see the results, but am having trouble getting totals for certain result areas. Such as how many people voted 1, voted 2, etc. If someone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hey there- Need a bit of help with a complicated formula. I’d like to create a formula that tells me how much to bill any customer on any given month. A customer’s bill is determined by how many square feet their space covers. Billing begins when we deploy our product in their space, which can happen at any point in the month. I’ve created formulas for the following: -Billing start date {Billing Start Date}- This is based on the date our product goes live -Number of billable days in the month when billing began {First Month Billable Days} I have created fields for January-December. I’d like the prorated monthly amount to show up in the appropriate month field (correlates to the {Billing Start Date}, and for any monthly field following that to show the regular monthly fee. For a customer whose space was deployed on 10/12/21, I’m envisioning an output that looks like this: August: (blank) September: (blank) October: $400 November: $10

Hello, I have a website built with ReactJs, Gatsby & deployed to Netlify. Hosting at rebel.ca. I am sending a very simple data to my Airtable form. Everything works perfectly in development, Netlify builds without any issue, link from Netlify work perfectly. However once I deploy to my domain hosted at rebel.ca, I am getting an error that API key is missing for Airtable (but for example not for Prismic which I am using as well). I have set up several “Single Select” field types, but editors still keep bypassing this by manually typing in data, many with typos and spelling errors, and its driving me crazy! Is there a way to force them to select one of the options I made available (like excel does) ? Thanks

I would like to lookup entries from another table. But ONLY if they have a certain value in a special field. Is this possible? Example: Table 1: Matchdays Table 2: Players In Table 2 players can either be “available” or “not available”. In Table 1 I want to ONLY list the names of the players that are available. Not ALL players that are linked to that matchday.

when can I use interfaces features in mobile app?

Hi everyone, I am new to airtable and trying to create a view that will give me a ‘count’ of how many times a client attended a session in the month. I have linked the ‘client’ table and select all the clients that attended for each session. As can be seen, I have also added an ‘attendance months’ field so I can group by month. I am having trouble trying to structure one of the tables to provide the count for each client for the given month. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi! I work at an Ad Agency and we use Airtable as a project management tool between all of our clients and creators. We specifically track each concept we are working on in a single row. We charge clients against a monthly hourly allotment of 30 hours per month. We are looking for an easier/ better way to track monthly hours per project per client. Some projects hop month to month and a designer may spend 5 hours in January and 6 hours in February. We need a way to track these hours in each month for each concept. Currently, we have 12 columns, one for each month of the year, for the designer to put the hours used per month per project. Some projects only last 1-3 months so it is kind of redundant to have so many collums. Ideally, I want one column that can allow a designer to input their total hours per month as needed vs 12 different collums

Hi everyone, Basically, I’m putting together online forms for staff uniform orders for my organisation, a heritage organisation which manages over 80 visitor sites across the country. We have two broad categories of uniform sites – Formal and Casual. Formal is shirts, smart trousers, waistcoats etc — Casual is polo shirts, cargo trousers etc. What I’m looking to achieve is to have a form where staff can click on their site and the form automatically reveals the options relevant to them — so those who click “Site A” (which is a Formal site) see the options for shirt and waistcoat sizes, whereas those who click “Site B” will see options for polo shirts, but not for shirts or waistcoats. I have a Sites table that contains all of our sites which staff can select from. It includes addresses, management and whether the sites are designated as casual/formal. I saw another question here about this, but it had no answer. I have multiple choice questions in typeform, and when I try to map them to multiple select, I see the fields listed but they’re grayed out. It only happens sometimes and I can’t figure out why it doesn’t work all the time. The answers I’ve added in airtable match typeform exactly. This is a huge blocker for me!

Hi! I’m trying to make an automation that will notify me when an entered record shares a field with other entries within a certain time. Essentially, we track issue tags and want to know if there have been 3 issue tags in the same state within a two week period (the state and receipt date are tracked as fields on the issue tag). My thought is to make a formula that counts how many entries within the past two weeks share a state with the given entry, and make that the condition for the automation. My question is, what formula (or group of formulas) would I use to look at other entries? I can’t seem to find formulas that look anywhere except inside entry that the formula outputs on. If I can’t do it with formulas, is there an app that will help me? Thanks

Hello, I am trying to connect Qonto (a bank) to Airtable. I made a first import from my Qonto external database to Airtable by mapping the columns with Integromat, and no problem. It has information like the VAT rate which is only updated later in Qonto database (the bank) So I would just like to map the two columns and update the data, but I can only find the option to map a cell (a record). I can’t find a way to update an entire column. Thank you for your help ! Quentin

In order to use Airtable Sync, do I have to Do I have to turn on the external publication of Share View Link in order to use Airtable Sync? I’d like to sync another BASE with Airtable Sync. In the case of AIrtable to Airtable, I need to create a Share View Link on one of them. If I set Access restricted to to a specific domain (@test.com) in Share View Link, it does not work with Airtable Sync. Can I somehow share the Airtable BASE without external users having access to it?

Using the Jira Cloud Sync, can airtable import “Order by Rank”? It doesn’t seem to work. Any other ideas on how to do this?

Hi! So I know there is an app to show how each field is connected. Where it will show if a field in one table is linked to a field in another table via a lookup or formula, ect. My database has a LOT of fields and tables, so I’m trying to consolidate some of the info and am digging into how everything is connected before deleting anything. My question is - is there anyway to see how the fields are currently being utilized in views for filters and groups, before deleting a field? I hope that makes sense! Thanks!!

Hi Airtable community, I am new to Airtable and looking to create an easy (not overwhelming) way to present all of the Tables/Tabs that need to be filled out by our clients. Currently, we have a number of Tables which creates many Tabs that have to be scrolled horizontally at the top. This is not ideal, as there isn’t a way to see all Table names at once. I am thinking of creating an Executive Summary Table which becomes the 1st tab in the list that has a Vertical list of Table/Tab names linking to the Tables/Tabs that way. However, I need help in creating these links. What do you suggest? Is there an easy way (automated) to create this Executive Summary? If not, how can I link to the Tables/Tabs themselves? Are there anchor links I can use? Thank you in advance!

I have some views where I have a lot of different single select fields that’ll automatically add certain values on record creation (by setting filters on those fields). I thought I’ll clean up the views and wrap them all in the new condition groups, however now the filters no longer add values into my fields. Is it me who does not understand the conditions groups? or is it a bug?

It’s a distribution company for television programs. Programs are produced using content from different partners. Each partner has a specific share of the pie for every program sold (that’s handled !) When the company sells to a client, a contract is drawn and it has n programs sold (handled !) Each contract can have n installments and therefore n payments (handled) Partners having some shares in the programs are only paid when my client gets paid. I have the repartition between the different partners on a percentage basis (i.e. partner A, on this program, gets X% of what we sold it for, partner B will get Y%, etc…).
