Hello, I’m wanting to know if it is possible to add a row when things are added to google sheets. I’ve tried using Zapier, but it doesn’t seem to work the way I want it to. It is not letting me add a picture of it to this post, so here is a link to it: imgur[dot]com/XadQ88y I want to be able to put businesses names in each of the Business 1, 2, 3… sections and their email in the corresponding spot. When I use Zapier, if I put business 1 and business 2 in at the same time, they end up in the same cell in Airtable. I want them to get their own row. Is there a way for me to do that?

I’ve tried to work this both using just the formula and also a combination of the formula and conditional fields (which seems like how it was designed to be used). I have an Inventory table that contains our inventory. I have an Orders table that contains our Orders. The Orders table references the Inventory to identify which item is being purchased. On the Inventory table I’d like to create a field that sums the amount of orders placed against an Inventory item so we can tell when we’re running low. Here I do a “rollup” field that has two conditions and a summation of the values for the formula. The first checks if the order was actually purchased. When I only use this condition, the field sums correctly. The second condition is suppose to take the linked field on the Orders table and check if it is the same as the Inventory Name. Hi, I’m facing issue to import data from a RTF file into Airtable. I tried to convert RTF to XML or CSV but I’ve got data loss (CSV) or the new document is unreadable (XML). Does anybody already managed to do this? Thanks

I’m trying to print a multiple page Page Designer Block in landscape. I have a Page Designer Block that generates a report which contains on each page a record, which contains some static text, some inline fields, and a grid. The pages are set up as 8 1/2 x 11" in landscape. If I print these to either PDF or a printer, they print in portrait mode, making the text very hard to read. This occurs even when in the Print menu I’ve selected Landscape. If I set the printer or Acrobat also to Landscape mode, the first page prints fine, but all the remaining pages are blank. Note that display is fine if I use the Previous Record and Next Record buttons. It’s also fine when selecting Present. How can I get a usable landscape printout? Thanks, Erik

Hello, I’m trying to figure out how to wrap text that’s in a grid view. There doesn’t seem to be any control that allows for wrapping of text. I’m having the same problem with Page Designer as I had within the table itself: linked fields can’t be wrapped and get cut off by the width of the column. Hi all, I have an Airtable that has individual movies for rows, and asset types for columns (for example: artwork, title card, etc.). The options for these single-select columns are statuses that each asset is in: ‘NEW’, ‘REQUESTED’, and ‘PUBLISHED’. I want to create a pie graph block that shows the total number of each across the WHOLE airtable, not just for one asset type. I created a formula column that concatenated all statuses across a row. That might look like: ‘REQUESTED,REQUESTED,NEW,PUBLISHED’. However, using the airtable block for graphs, I can’t break down this concatenation to individual statuses. I could easily convert the concatenation to a multiple select field and make a graph from that, but multiple select field (as far as I know) does not allow for multiple options of the same status. Any workarounds for this issue that you can think of?

I use Airtable to track my weekly services for a company. I would like to automate invoicing by also attaching price associated with the service. For example: Service A = $60 Service B = $240 Service C = $70 Currently, I filter all of the services in the table (filter specific service) and paste a price to all the entires. I repeat this with each service type. What I would like is some kind formula or something whereby I can set what Service A, B, and C cost so that the price automatically appears in the field next to the service column. At the bottom, I can see the total. I will then use this for invoicing. Maybe creating a new Table where each service rate is defined and then somehow connecting this rate to the “Service Log” table?

Hello! I wonder if you might give us some way of offsetting the “Q1”, “Q2”, etc markers on the Gantt timeline, to support a fiscal year that does not match the calendar year. Or, if not that, to hide the markers altogether. I realize there’s a way to use formulas to have fields reflect an offset fiscal year based on dates, but I don’t believe it’s possible to change this header and it’s very confusing for viewers. With base.getTable, do I use the name of the base? I’m getting an error even trying to run the example. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Hello, New airtable user designing a way for employees at a small business to exchange non paid time off. We want to create a “time bank” style exchange, were employees can offer up shifts of different lengths, and other employees can claim them. When you claim an offered shift, you contribute to your balance in the time bank, and when you offer up a shift, you use your balance/credit. I am having trouble figuring out how to set up the formula, though I know it should be simple SUM (hours earned minus hours used). Do I need to put that formula in a specific view of the base? I’m able to set up a column to display that formula but I don’t know how to integrate that with other data I want to include, including the dates to be swapped, employee name, etc. Any advice would be very useful.

I have a table in which I track each time I contact a client. I also have a formula that uses the date contacted and cycle frequency to determine the next date to connect with the client. I also have a view that filters the view to only show future “next contact date.” I would like to create a way to show in this view only the clients I need to contact within the current 7 DAY week. I can’t come up with a formula, and the filter options for the view don’t provide a way to do this. I was thinking a separate column with a formula that would only populate if the “next contact date” column had a date for the current 7 DAY week. Maybe a checkmark and the view can be filtered if a record has a checkmark. I’m stumped and would love some thoughts.

I wrote a formula that converts options chosen from a multi-select list into a string and appends the responses when “other” is selected. I want to take the resulting comma separated string and convert them into links to connect to other records. Is there any way to do that without disrupting the formula? Or is there a way to continually copy the contents of column A into column B while being able to link column B to other records?

Hello! Im trying to build a question pool where people should answer with a value on a scale. Like the “opinion scale” in typeform or “linear scale” in google forms. I seem not to find a solution on this. The problem lies in the description of the extremes: What I tried is to build the extreme’s description into the question itself (in the format of “question? 1:low extreme answer 5: high extreme answer”), but with these they just seem to be too long for the cells to fit. I inserted them into a new base, converted them to become column headers (by importing a copypasted set from a sheet). So the looks like this: and then realized part of the text is trimmed. Hi there. I have a work tracker and a table lifting all of my tasks. Next to the tasks I have a Single select column listing the status of teh task as ‘Completed’ ‘In progress’ or ‘Not started’. I would like to add an extra table purely for Completed tasks. and set it up in a way so that when I categorize a task as ‘Completed’ it automatically feeds through to the ‘Completed tasks’ table, and then hides it from the main ‘Tasks’ table. Please could someone explain how to do this? I’ve done this once before but can’t remember how. Thanks

I know how to show Videos for a given Unit via lookup of all the Modules for a Unit. A Course will have one or more Units. What’s the best way in AirTable to show the Videos for a Course? I created 2 tables - Table 1 - Input from a form I created - Including a tracking number and quantity actually received Table 2 - Download from a website with the tracking numbers and quantity shipped I wanted to link these two tables with the tracking number field to then be able to create an additional field that would calc how many items I had outstanding. When I go to link the tracking numbers between the tables - The data in BOTH tables for tracking number columns totally disappear? I feel like this is pretty simple… am I missing something basic? please help!

DTS-07232017 Hello, RE: Scroll Bars Not Functioning Scroll bars are not functioning on mobile desktop web browser mode. Whether in Chromium or FF neither scroll bars are functioning. The cannot be accessed. So there’s no way to scroll horizontal. In the Airtable mobile app, the mobile is entirely limited, dysfunctional making it useless. So obviously Airtable wasn’t developed with mobile coding and is restricted, to laptops. This is irritating, to be on mobile technologies, on the road working on a database build only to find out it needs a laptop! What pisses me off is at this point I might as well use MS Access.
