A custom script that helps you integrate Airtable with the OpenAI API without using any 3rd party tools like Zapier or Make - possible even with the free Airtable account. Just copy-paste the "script" and start getting responses from gpt-4/3.5, immediately. What can you do with the “script”?You can bring the power of OpenAI language models (GPT-4 and GPT-3.5) to your Airtable base and utilize them to create content for 1000s of rows at once. For example:Generate product descriptions based on several data pointsCreate personalized emails for 1000s of guests based on available dataDo programmatic SEO by creating super-optimized AI contentGenerate content for anything and everything that follows a patternLearn more about the script here: https://invertedstone.com/store/airtable-to-openai-api/
I know a lot of you including myself on the forums wish there was a way to attach dropbox image links so you can maintain your digital assets locally such as this post: Choose Dropbox or Google Drive for attachment storage Product Suggestions I would love for my attachments to get sued in my Dropbox. This would allow me to use Airtable as a digital asset manager Or even renaming uploaded files (in bulk though) Rename Uploaded Files Product Suggestions I think it would be great to be able to update the names of files once they’re uploaded; this is especially needed when linking images or files from online instead of uploading since you have no control on the naming structure for those external files. I’ve recently found that searching a base includes what’s in the filename and this is becoming problematic since I often link to images on the web that have a lot of text in the filename that I would prefer not to be there. I th
Hey community !We just redesigned and relaunched Data Fetcher, and I wanted to share it for anyone who might find it useful. What is Data Fetcher? It’s a no-code Airtable extension that pulls data from APIs directly into your bases. Think of it as connecting Airtable to your external data sources without the complexity of coding or leaving Airtable. Why we built it: We kept hitting the same wall: Airtable is great for organizing data, but getting external data in (and keeping it updated) was always a hassle. What it does:Import from any REST/GraphQL API Schedule automatic updates (up to every 5 minutes) Chain requests together into sequences for complex workflows Handle authentication & pagination Transform data as it’s importedReal example: One of our customers, Fox Logistics, increased their shipment processing from 1,800 to 2,500 per week after connecting their external systems with Airtable through Data Fetcher - all without adding headcount. We’ve put together a list of pre-bui
My client just spent 5 minutes raving about how a small fix genuinely improved the quality of life for their staff. So thought to share. They run a medical services biz. For managing charts, appointments, etc., they use "Jane," which is super HIPAA compliant (so no API, of course). For the extra workflows Jane can't do, they export PHI-stripped data to Airtable weekly and also use Asana for patient-specific tasks. The problem? Practitioners in Jane needing to see Asana tasks for a patient had this annoying little dance: copy PatientUID from Jane URL, tab over to Asana, paste, search, pray. Took barely a minute, sure, but multiply that by X times a day... and it becomes a real point of friction in their workflow! So, I figured there had to be a no-code way. Whipped up a super basic Chrome extension using Windsurf (one of those AI builder things – I wanted to explore these AI builders anyway, so good excuse!).It's not going to win any innovation awards, and it's definitely not a unicorn Saa
Hi everyone! 👋I’m excited to finally share that I completed my Airtable certification back in February (https://verify.skilljar.com/c/7k9pzk4zucj9), and I'm now looking to integrate Airtable into my freelance services.I'm Shuaib, a business process automation freelancer with a background in Computer Science and I work with automation platforms like make.com.Earlier this year, I earned my Airtable Certification, and while I quietly celebrated it in February, I'm now ready to make it part of my public tech stack and service offerings.🔗 Here’s a look at my work: My PortfolioI'd love to hear from others in the automation space:How have you integrated Airtable into your services? What kinds of systems have you built with Airtable that are tightly coupled with automation tools like Make or Zapier?I'm especially interested in use cases like CRMs, inventory or asset management, and other backend systems that benefit from Airtable’s flexibility and structure. If you're using Airtable as the cor
(So, since I’m a “New” user even though I’ve used airtable for years, I can only post 5 images per post, so I’m breaking this up into multiple responses. ) Hi guys! I encountered a need to have this solved, and the nature of the problem just doesn’t mesh well with creating a formula to fix it. Here’s a topic that was looking for a good answer on this, and one that gives an answer that I think can be improved upon: Rolling Customer Number Based On Year Base design I need to create a customer number that includes the year, and an accruing customer number. E.g. 2020-0001, 2020-0002, etc. The thing is, every year, the year has to change in the customer number, and the four numbers after it have to reset. So if the last number of 2020 is 2020-1234, the first number of 2021 will be 2021-0001 again. I can get the year from the Created Time field The problem is the numbers after the year… I figure I can’t use an autonumber because it won’t reset each year. …

If you’ve ever wanted to create an approval workflow using Airtable that includes electronig signatures and automatic creation of PDF files, you could always piece together different tools to make that happen. For example, you could piece together a solution that combines DocuMint or PDFFiller, along with DocuSign and Make. Or, you could combine eSignatures.io with Make. But I wanted to see if there was a way to combine everything together with just one platform, and it turns out that you can do all of the above with just one tool: Fillout’s advanced forms for Airtable! On this episode of the BuiltOnAir podcast, I show how to use Fillout to create the ultimate approval workflow for Airtable!Hope you enjoy! May 2023 Update: AirToWoo is now Connect for WooCommerce. We have a demo Airtable base here which you can copy, and you can sign up here.Hi fellow Airtabler’s (and Woocommerce lovers!).I’m excited to share a brand new integration between Airtable and Woocommerce, which allows you to manage all your products, categories, tags, orders (and more) for Woocommece from within Airtable. We’ve shared it with a few of our contacts, and the average speed saving has been 10x. If you’ve ever used Woocommerce, you’ll know how slow it can be to go through and edit products one by one, so it was a no-brainer to tap into the ease and speed of Airtable, and make it possible to easily sync to Woocommerce.Withour further ado, I bring to you: Connect for WooCommerce!Any input would be greatly appreciated 🙂
I’ve been at my company for about two years and our content team’s workflow has changed pretty drastically in that time. We decided we needed a new Airtable base and to switch to an Interface for ease of tracking projects with multiple components across multiple teams. We finally have the visibility we’ve been lacking for full team transparency. Whereas before each team has its own tab in the data layer that were linked but didn’t really talk to each other, all deliverables now live in one tab and each content piece (based on an Updates tab from the Content Calendar template) lives in a second tab and is automatically created based on content type. There is also (based on the template) a separate area for when external stakeholders request content so that we can vet it for all required information before pulling it into the team workflow. Using interfaces has also allowed us to better share calendars and status updates with external stakeholders, giving them only access to the informat
I wrote a Tampermonkey script to allow us to customize the colors of the field headers!(Tampermonkey lets you install scripts in your browser to customize and add functionality to a site, in this case, Airtable! https://www.tampermonkey.net/)To use it, you'll need to set up the exact field IDs and colors that you want those fields to be in this bit:const colorMap = { "fldI5EIoOG25a85F7": { r: 255, g: 224, b: 204 }, "fldxj4ka7M2FwkJAP": { r: 207, g: 245, b: 209 }, "fldAPHkUW98PsaZV3": { r: 255, g: 234, b: 182 }}; For the colors, just google 'Color Picker' and a bunch of options will show up (when I did this Google actually popped up its own Color Picker actually)For the field IDs, right click the field header and click 'Copy URL' and then paste it somewhere, and it'll look something like this: https://airtable.com/appbvEVTtJoARHXPM/tblkT2pj3Ouz1wQRQ/viwKoIZQGVZEAfOap/fldI5EIoOG25a85F7That last bit is what we're looking for 'fldI5EIoOG25a85F7'---Let me know if you have any issue
Hello 🙂I am creating a scenario in Make(Integromat) to resize images, and compress if they exceed 5MB in size.Bellow is the screenshot of the scenario I have created, but it is not working as expected. I use HTTP to check the resized image size in MB From here on, I am no longer sure what I did wrong, but Get multiple variables does not give me the resizes and compressed image. If the scenario received two images, one being resized and other compressed, I get two same compressed images. I would really appreciate help.Thank you, Pjero 🙂
I saw this post from the r/Airtable subreddit and was interested to get our Community’s thoughts on Airtable as a solution to the goal identified by the user. From the Reddit post: Hey guys, I have been using Notion for well over 6 years and I have toted its amazingness for all of those years. However, it has come to the point that I simply need to be able to print a Gantt chart or timeline view straight from the software and it just does not do that. I have asked Notion support 15+ times over those 6 years and I get the same response every time.I have 10 users and we manage around 30 projects in the construction industry at any given time. In Notion I have a database of our projects with properties for information regarding those projects as well as a separate database for just task tracking. The task database has a relation back to those projects so if something is added anywhere its always included in the one database. I've stuck with this format of task tracking purely because the m
Hey Y'all! My name is Louis Piotti from Philadelphia. I work as the CEO of the nonprofit AfterShock Fam (aftershockfam.org) and the CTO & Co-Founder for Polaris Pathways (polarispathways.com) and I also do custom builds for businesses from large manufacturers, festivals, workshops, and schools.I just spend hours banging my head against a wall trying to find how to merge records similar to the De-Dupe Extension but would just do it automatically and just built it.I shared the template for everyone to use along with all the code / prompt history in hopes that less people have to goes through 1000 records 1 by 1 on the De-Dupe extension haha AIRTABLE TEMPLATE: https://airtable.com/appdymmnNJo098vJG/shrssRCuFQcrla1Rc FINAL SCRIPT:// Initialize the table and fieldslet table = base.getTable("Contacts");let query = await table.selectRecordsAsync();let records = query.records; // Define specific field names for non-single-line, single-select, checkbox, or attachment fie
Hi friends we have just launched an iOS app named AirKit on App Store which is just made for Airtable user. The problem it solves is straightforward: it takes so many steps to create a single record in the current Airtable iOS app, why not we let Siri to do it? Just say “Hi Siri, AirKit add Tasks” (e.g. Tasks is one of your table name), you could light fast save important data to your base, check it out on App Store if you’re interested! *Original post has been updated to include a few more notes and screenshots*If you prefer working in the Airtable desktop app and wish you could create shortcuts that opened a base or interface in the desktop app instead of a browser window... I have somewhat of a workaround. The desktop app is essentially a web app. You'll be creating your own web app(s) using Safari 17 or higher. This method will require a Mac running Sonoma or Sequoia. Log into Airtable on Safari and navigate to the desired base or interface page that you want your web app to open to. (You'll be creating as many of these as you need, each opening to a specific base & table view or interface page)Copy the full URL in the address barIn the menu bar, navigate to File>Add to Dock... In the dialog box that appears, enter the name of your web app in the upper space and paste the full URL into the lower space. Click "Add" to add a shortcut to the web app to your dock. (It will also be added to Launchpa
Here's something I created using automations with a script to allow me to get quick totals on any table view for specific values. I have 2 cases listed below and have found it to be a great way of collecting totals without having to create other linked records, rollups etc. Of course I have to hit the recalculate checkbox to get my total for each row, so it's not live, but I can live with that. Also, you have to make sure your references are correctly spelled (Source Table, Source View, etc). I hope others find it useful. I've attached the javascript below.let inputConfig = input.config(); let record_id = inputConfig['SummaryRecID']; // Reference the "Summary Table" let summaryTable = base.getTable("Summary Table"); // Fetch the specific record in "Summary Table" let summaryRecord = await summaryTable.selectRecordAsync(record_id, { fields: ["Source Table", "Source View", "Field", "Value"] }); if (!summaryRecord) { console.log("Record not found in Summary Table."
Hi Airtable Community,I urgently need clarification on the best Airtable plan for selling templates. I recently had a video call with the Airtable team, but my main concern wasn’t fully addressed, and I need to make a decision ASAP since I’m actively selling a product. My situation:I’m creating and selling Airtable templates that my clients should be able to fully edit—entering data, modifying records, updating menus, etc. Essentially, they need to use the template independently within their own workspace.I know that the Teams plan does not provide this level of flexibility, so I need to determine whether the Business or Enterprise plan is the right fit. While I have pricing details for the Business plan, I still don’t know the monthly cost of the Enterprise plan.My question:Which plan allows me to sell templates where my clients can fully edit and use them within their own workspaces, starting from my initial setup?I would appreciate a clear and direct answer, as I need to finalize my
