Updating An Existing Record via Airtable Form

Hi! I am brand new to Airtable (and admittedly, brand new to the tech world in general), so I wanted to share my first project and get some feedback/suggestions. Some background on the project: My dad’s company is built almost entirely out of google drive and he is wanting to start transitioning over to Airtable to automate some processes that are currently being done tediously by his HR team. One of these tasks is keeping employees’ contact info updated regularly. Right now, this is being done by HR reaching out to employees individually to see if their info has changed and then manually updating in google sheets. Current Project: Import current employee info into new Airtable base and set up a form to be emailed quarterly to all employees which will allow them to change any information and update their record automatically once this form has been submitted. Step 1: I imported data straight from google sheets into Airtable to create my Employee Info base. This google sheet had a lot o

PDF Generation Directly in Airtable with DynamicDocs API

This article shows how to generate a PDF based on one of the DynamicDocs JSON to PDF templates from Airtable. PDF generation is done by setting up a script which can be prompted with a button. The script creates a JSON with underlying data from Airtable and uses DynamicDocs API to generate the PDF. The PDF is then downloaded and put into the Airtable attachment field. What is DynamicDocs API?DynamicDocs API is JSON to PDF API based on LaTeX that allows users to generate dynamic PDF documents in a matter of seconds. PDF generation happens with LaTeX, a mark-up style language that separates formatting and content. LaTeX consistently applies a user-defined style throughout the documents and has become very popular in academic circles due to its ability to create high-quality, complex documents. I built a tool to get more customization out of Calendar embeds

Hey all! Ryan here, I created a tool that lets you customize and embed Airtable data on any website.I've implemented the feedback I got from here (Thanks again!) and am excited to share our new Calendar template.This template is a perfect way to showcase upcoming events on your website all whilst managing them in Airtable.The Template comes with a bunch of customisation options:The Calendar comes with 4 views (Day, Week, Month, Agenda)You can toggle which views you want to have on your template Choose a Default Calendar view for the Calendar.This is the view that the template starts with when the template first loads on your website. Grouped by 1 field

How to group rows by date so that groups are formed by day, without taking into account time. To get a group of October 4 with 2 rows and October 5 with 2 rows. I understand that the question is in the time display, but if you make a separate column with the formula DATETIME_FORMAT({Posting Time}, 'DD MM YY') and then group by it, then the program takes the date for text and sorts without taking into account the month, only by day.

Script to autonumber secondary key by group

I've gotten a lot of help from the community, and I'd like to offer something in return.  I was able to author a script that autonumbers a counter field for my detail records based on the group field of the parent record.  This is my first working script and I'm sure it has issues, so use carefully.  I'm sure better versions of this exist on marketplace or someplace, but I couldn't find.  I've submitted it to the marketplace, not sure if it's worthy of them listing it though.  It was a painful learning process to get working, but it does do what I need now. 🙂PS, I know airtable doesn't have a concept of "secondary key" (as in subject), but I think people like me that come from a SQL background might search on thatThe high level of this use case is I have a board meeting each month (Meeting is primary key of parent record). Making Airtable's Script Editor less cramped

Airtable’s Script Editor is great, but one flaw that’s bothered me for a long time is how much space the side panels take up, especially on small screens. There’s no way to collapse them, and no way to resize them. Soooo, I spent a few hours writing a userscript with some absolutely insane CSS rules to fix this. Now, the side panels in the Script Editor are collapsed by default, and can be shown by hovering over the handlbars to the right and left. The script is designed to work in both the Scripting Extension, and in the Automations editor. I haven’t released the script publicly yet, as it’s currently written using some experimental CSS properties which allow the CSS rules to be less complex. However, I already figured out a version of the code previously that doesn’t use these experimental properties and is compatible with current browsers, so it would just take a little time to fix up the code before I can share it. comment section is in infinite loading state.Replicated base to resolve.When it was cloned, the same phenomenon occurred again after a short period of time and four days.Is it an error in the air table itself...?

What is the best way for my database?

I am developing software for car appraisers in Softr and have structured my database with five tables:Enduser (Appraiser) - Unique identifier: Email of the appraiserClients of the Enduser - Unique identifier: Email of the client (One appraiser can have multiple clients)Vehicles of the Client - Unique identifier: Vehicle registration number of the client (One client can own multiple vehicles)Appraisals of the Vehicle - Unique identifier: Report number of the appraisal of the client (Each vehicle can have multiple appraisals)Payments for the Appraisals - Unique identifier: Payment number of the report number (Each appraisal can involve multiple payments)Is this structure appropriate? Work with your Airtable database via Siri. A bit advanced to understand maybe, but these are meant to act like “functions” that can be used separately like building blocks for your own shortcuts. How to create end user's portals with a third party software

Hi Community!We have the employee information on our Airtable.Also, we have some forms that they can submit, for example leave requests or overtime requests.It would be nice that they can see their own records they submitted in the past but it would be anooying to create one interface for each employee.Using the thrid party like Stacker might be the best option but we are wondering if there is any best way that they can see their responses for just their own somehow.We have different bases for Emplyee information and Leave request form/record but they are connected. Thank you,
