Hi everyone! I am excited to share with all of you that as of today conditional automations are now available in Airtable for all users. Conditional logic lets you trigger groups of automation actions only when certain conditions have been met, ensuring your automations are primed to do exactly what you want. Once you’ve set up conditional logic, Airtable will check the first conditional group you’ve set—if the conditions for a group have been met, the actions in that group will run. A few common questions: Do conditional actions count towards the total number of 25 actions allowed per automation?Yes, conditional actions do count toward the total number of actions allowed for each automation. Can I nest conditions in automations? We do not currently allow for nesting conditional groups in automations at this time. The Airtable Community Change Maker Spotlights are a new ongoing series where we will be highlighting inspirational creators across the Airtable Community. We are thrilled to highlight Kuovonne Vorderbruggen! LM: How long have you been using Airtable? KV: I discovered Airtable about five years ago in 2018 as part of a search for a low cost, cloud-based, cross-platform database system for personal projects, and every year since then has been a new adventure. Initially I forced my Airtable builds on bewildered friends and family who didn’t understand why a database could be better than a spreadsheet, but in 2019 I found that people would pay me to create Airtable bases. So, in 2020, I decided to re-enter the workforce full-time, focusing on Airtable consulting. The following year, 2021, I started selling Airtable scripts and premium licenses for my extensions. Then, in 2022, I decided that I would rather be an employee than run a business when one of my clients mad
Hi all - I hope everyone is having a great week! 💫 Some may remember, that back in 2018, Airtable released “Blocks”— which let you build your own tools and added additional functionality to Airtable. Then, in 2020, Airtable released the Apps Marketplace, which added even more functionality, and led to the renaming of blocks to apps because, well, they’re applications that work within Airtable. But that was never as clear as we hoped, especially in an era where Apps can refer to everything from Miro to Angry Birds to the application your team builds with Airtable. So as we look forward, we wanted to choose a name that reflects the way our customers can—and will—use these powerful tools. Our goal is to extend the functionality of Airtable, so we wanted to choose a name that reflects that future. “Extensions” was a natural choice. The Future of Extensions Extensions will retain all their same, great functionality. In the future we’re building toward, Extensions won’t just be somet

Hi everyone, I hope you’ve been well! I’m Jade, a Product Manager here at Airtable. We’ve got an exciting new feature that is live in Airtable today - you can now deep-link to a specific cell! Prior to this feature being released, users were only able to copy & share the record URL - this wasn’t ideal for bases with a high volume of fields per record. Imagine you want to share a single field with your colleague, but your only option was to copy an entire record with every field! Now with our new feature, you will be able to copy and share links to a specific cell. This simplifies the link sharing experience, as well as make it easier to navigate in a base. Using this feature is simple - right click on the cell you want to share, and click “Copy cell URL”. Now when you navigate to the base using that link, you’ll be brought directly to that specific cell. This feature works in the grid view, as well as the expanded record. Here it is in the expanded record: And here is the grid vie

Happy February! We’re excited to announce that our new remoteFetchAsync function is now live within the Scripting App. One of the most common issues we see users run into when writing scripts is in trying to use the fetch API to communicate with an external service. Because Scripting App scripts run directly in the user’s browser, fetch requests will be blocked by the browser if the target server doesn’t support Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS). The new remoteFetchAsync method transmits the request from Airtable’s own servers rather from the user’s browser, thereby getting around CORS issues. remoteFetchAsync works very similarly to fetch and expects the same inputs, except for a handful of “gotchas” stemming from the fact that this is run from a backend. Resources to get started: Read documentation: Learn about the functionality of remoteFetchAsync here. Share your script template with Airtable customers: Already built a script that utilizes backend fetch? Submit here to get it l
