I'm new to formulas but have learned quite a bit from these forums. I have arrays of Hardiness Zones for plants, which are written like this: 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b and so on. I need to put them into ranges like this "Zone 4-8". I have a huge database of contacts. I would like to group and categorize these into households/families.My initial thoughts were to group by last name. However many contacts share the same last name yet aren't in the same household. Similarly, some households have different last names.I've currently got a separate "single select" field called "household/family". THis does a good job at seperating the records; I'm not able to count how many options are being used though. Is there a better way to do this?Much appreciated on any ideas! Thaaanks

Help!  I am trying to create a field that combines first and last name.  I am using the formula below but getting the error message as shown.  Confused what I am doing wrong?

We had students respond to a number of self-reflection questions, and their answers are in table 1.  Table 2 uses lookup fields to pull in those answers, and then a formula field to attempt to score them.Each question has 5 answer choices, and each answer choice is worth between 1 and 5 points.  Here's an example with the number of points each answer is worth in parentheses:  How would you react to constructive criticism from professors in your host country?a) I might take it personally and feel discouraged. Hello, let me first give a little backstory on the process I have leading up to where I need help...I have two tables (Table1 and Table2). There is a button on Table1 that triggers a script. The script copies a few fields from Table1 over to Table2, one of which is an alphanumeric code. While copying this alphanumeric code over to Table2, it also performs a check to see how many times this code already exists in Table2, and populates that number into a field. Table2 contains a complex formula that uses the existing alphanumeric code and the number of times that code has been seen before, to generate a new unique alphanumeric code. All of this works flawlessly, I'm just struggling to figure out how to execute the last step... copying this new unique alphanumeric code back to a field on Table1.First attempt at a solve, I setup a new automation that watches for new records entering a view on Table2. I’m trying to create an automation to take data from one cell in a record and paste it into another, linked, cell in that record. I set it up to trigger if “PART NAME” is not empty and “PARTS” is empty. Then it is supposed to take the value from “PART NAME” and update “PARTS”. When I run a test it does find a record to update but when I turn the automation on nothing happens. Any idea where I’m going wrong?

Anyone have experience removing someone from a workspace, then adding them back to a base? Will that erase timestamp, commenting, etc? I basically have everyone in a workspace and 75% of them are editors of that workspace. However, I need no one but myself to control entire workspace and all its members have access to only the bases they are assigned to. Thanks

Our team has recently transitioned our CRM system to Airtable and configured a dashboard for straightforward reporting to our leadership.In our setup, we have a "Status" column that includes several choices. I've arranged a status view on the dashboard for a quick glance at the figures. However, I'm also looking to calculate a conversion percentage to demonstrate, for instance, the percentage of leads progressing from "interested" to "won" among other transitions.Can anyone guide me on how to establish a view for this purpose?

Hello Everyone,  Basically I have got a table with documents sign date and expiry date, and created a formula when it shows that the document is "Active" or "Expired" if the date is in the past. The question is how to create an automation so whenever formula changes to expired it will send an email telling a person that the document is now expired.  Hope that makes sense.  Thanks

i have a automation that builds out new records, and depending on the project being created in Table A it connects to different linked records on other tables, for ex Table B and Table C. Table B uses a text field as primary field, so anytime i am connecting to this table with Update Record, it easily links to existing or creates new.however Table C uses a a formula as a primary field. When i use the update record it is not connecting due to computed field. i dont want to create new records, i just want to connect to existing. I have a formula on my recoird creation that determines the correct linked record, and it does exist, but it still fails.

I have a table containing the following 'data'Project, Person, Start, FinishI want to plot on a Vega-Lite Heatmap style Histogram the 'heat' of these people over time. So the more 'Projects' then the higher the 'heat'. I have a form that I am editing using the "new form designer" - aka Interface Designer.I am adding some new questions that should be in a group - and all of my old questions seem to be in another group.Can I put the new group INSIDE the old group? Or do I have to figure out how to drag everything OUTSIDE of the old group before I can create conditional groups?Thanks!

Hello everyone, I have a base in which I have defined tasks with a start date and a deadline. Both dates are calculated from the start date of an event and a number X days before the event starts.In three cases the tasks have to start after the start date of the event which is why I used a negative number. I'm having trouble with using the DATEADD function (and yes totally new at this). I'm trying to add 3 months to a date in another column. I've technically gotten the formula to work but it's not quite getting the desired date. So for example if my date is 4/1/2024 and the formula is adding 3 months it's calculating 6/30/2024. I need it to actually calculate 7/1/2024. I've tried to add a day to the formula but keep getting an error. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am using a form to register event attendees. This form sits within a table called "Event". However, the registrants are records in different tables. I want the completed form to trigger a contact on a different table (within the same base), to update a field marking "registered to attend event". Is this possible?Attached is the automation I have set up, and when I tested the automation with test data it worked. The field in the other table was updated. However, over night, I received lots of error messages. I wonder if it is because I used the record " When a record matches condition", and therefore it is continuously running? The error was occurring at "update record" and was saying "Received invalid inputs". Sometimes it was working. Sometimes it was not. Would anyone be able to help please?

Hello all,we use interfaces in airtable so that we can only show the desired data to the users who need it at that moment. For example, we show records where the "current user" is indicated as the assignee.We also have a "Team" field where multiple users can be indicated. Here I would like to indicate a group as a team because a team changes every now and then. We created the group in the admin environment. Does interfaces then recognize the current user in the group?Does anyone know if this is possible?Greetings, Martijn

Hey everyone , I am slightly struggling to find the best formula for expiry data. Basically, I have signing date and expiry date and I need to create a formula that will indicate that if the paper is now after expiry date it will change to 'expired' and if it is within time frame then it is "active" And maybe it will be possible somehow to connect it to "Status" in single select feature? Thanks in advance !!
