I'm wondering if there's a way to allow users configure fields from within an interface? e.g., my use case is that a certain user needs to be able to adjust Kanban columns on the fly by changing available values in a single-select field. They could do this easily in a regular Kanban view in the base, but is it possible to do this somehow in an interface?

Hello, I was curious if it’s possible for a formula to return the Day of the Week from Date Field? So, if my Date field reads, “9/27/2022,” is it possible for a formula to understand that this date is, “Tuesday?” Thanks.

I am running an entire business out of an Airtable base. I want to change a primary field from a text field to a formula field. However, if any IDs were also to change, it would be devastating for my automations managed by Zapier. I was hoping someone here could help with the answer before I move forward with the change. Hi All! For the Gantt Chart view, does anyone know if there's a way to have airtable automatically adjust all dependent task start dates when the predecessor task is moved up (backward in time)?  I see that airtable automatically pushes out all dependent tasks automatically (this is great) but if a task duration is shortened or end date is moved back, all of the dependent tasks stay exactly where they are. Is there a setting I need to turn on to enable automatic date adjustments in both directions?  This seems like a very basic feature for Gantt charts and doesn't quite make sense to have it only for updates in one direction but not the other! Jack

I have a database of students in various "home rooms" each assigned a teacher.  I can easily create a view that shows the students in that homeroom that I can send to the teachers, however, there is one more record in another table that is linked to the teacher that shows their budget of what they can spend each month and how much they get for each class.  How can I send them a "dashboard" that has the records of their students, AND the one record for each teacher that has their budget? Thanks,Jeff

Hi, I am using an attachment field and looking to upload the attachments from my google drive. I was able to connect my google drive however it is only letting me choose attachments from ‘My Drive.’ I am looking to choose the attachments from ‘Shared Drives’ as it is a team folder. Does anyone know if and how this is possible? Thanks in advance.

hello!i'm trying to send emails via the outlook automation. everything works like a charm, apart from the emails not arriving at all. so it doesn't work at all 😞 unless the receipient of the mail is an address with the same domain as the one i am sending from, that seems to work. but if i try to send to a gmail address, i simply never receive the email. does anyone have any idea why this might be? very sad.

Apparently when a dash aka minus sign is used as the first character of a text field, a single quote is inserted in CSV export. There's no need for this and it confusing when you expect a normal CSV export behaviour.Can you please list the extra character insertions you do beyond what the CSV format requires?EDIT: it's inconsistent even. Sometimes it inserts a single quote (that isn't there in the data) and sometimes it doesn't. Even two rows below each other.% grep -o '..\- C[^ ]\+' exported.csv,"- Choice"'- ChoiceAfter experimentation, we found that a single quote is inserted at the start of the value if:- The value starts with a dash- The value contains an opening round bracket (aka parenthesis)This sounds like a bug rather then a feature to me.

I am building a base of vendor records. Each record has a first name, last name, and vendor ID. Ideally, the unique ID would be the primary field. However, when using the "linked records" field in other tables, I have to enter the Vendor ID, which I don't know off the top of my head -- I have to flip over to the other record, look up the ID, flip back and input the ID to get the correct association. Is there a way to use the Last Name in a different table to associate with a record that has a primary field of the Vendor ID?My current work around is to use =concatenate(first name, last name), which is perfect for the above scenario. However, when I import bills from my accounting software, it imports using the Vendor ID number -- so it's the same problem the other way around. If using the concatenated primary field, I need to know how to associate the vendor ID with the correct record when it imports from my financial software.I hope this makes sense and thank you in ad

Hello, I would like to create a CRM from an existing customer list, with an event management function.In particular I have: a "customer" table and an "event" table.Customers must register for the event by submitting a form (which inserts data into the "event" table). When the customer already exists, a tag is created into the "customers" table referring to the event. Or in any case a link between the "customers" table and the "list" table.Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

I'm trying to put together an automation that will update a date field within a group based on a selected record in that group. I put together an automation that watched a view with only the main records and then pulled all the other records from that group into a list and then updated the record with that main record's date. However for some reason when I went to update the 2nd group with it's own automation, it started updating both. Is there an easier way to do this? Based on the image below, I want the date for CEE to go into all the CEE countries and the date for Benelux to go into all the Benelux countries.

I have a base that measures how many consultations our firm has booked in a given day. We have all inquiries logged onto a sheet called "Consultations." The Consultations sheet has details of each inquiry including which rep took the call and the result of the call (i.e. consult booked, may call back, etc.) amount other things. We have two other tables, one for the list of all of the results(i.e. consult booked, may call back, etc.) and the other that lists all of the sales reps that is linked to the consultations table. What I am trying to do is create a view for the sales reps that shows their closing rate (inquires / consults booked = closing rate) however, I want to be able to specify a date range to see if they are improving or declining not just all time. The problem is that I can't filter by the date of the records on the consultation table on the sales rep table. Is there a way to do this? 

I built a task management table that tracks, start, due, and completion dates.The start date is logged by an AT automation that pulls from a field called Todays Date. That field is set to PDT in the field options.The due date pulls a unique SLA from a field using this formula: {Start Date},DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE(WORKDAY({Start Date},SLA),'America/Los_Angeles'),'MM/DD/YYYY h:mm A'),"")) The complete date is logged using the same automation method for start date.Where I'm encountering an issue, is how early or late a task was completed. So duration of time before or after the due date. I've tried a few different methods, but I feel like this one should work: DATETIME_DIFF({Complete Date},{Due Date},'hours') The DATETIME_DIFF formula produces wildly inaccurate results. I've tried troubleshooting by adding an hours adjustment for GMT to PDT, or adjusting

The new record detail layout has basically broken my workflow. The old setup allowed me to resize fields, make attachments bigger, add grids of linked records, etc.Now, I cannot do any such thing, I'm limited in a single column or rows. Can we opt out of this to the old one? This has destroyed my ability to keep building on my interfaces.

However, the timeline will not display items that don't have a Start and End Date.Following  some other topics, most notably this one, I am trying to find a workaround where an automation automatically updates the End Date to match Today's date.A Checkbox is ticked for all contracts flagged as "Ongoing". Hello, I’m trying to create an automation: –TRIGGER: status of the record is changed to “Completed/Published” (I managed this part, I think) –ACTION: the “Published Date” field is automatically filled-in with today’s date (here’s where I get lost) Is it possible to do this, and how? (I tried various things but am getting “test failed”) Next question: Would the user still be able to manually change the “Published Date” field? For example, let’s say our content was published yesterday, but the user only updates their record in AirTable today, so they would need to manually correct the date. Thanks for your help!

Wondering if there is anyone interested collaborating on the creation of a habit tracker base I’ve been working on. The idea is this: Place those paperthin RFID tags in the places where my habit takes place. Reading → Kindle Cover Exercise → On my shoe rack next to my gym shoes. Brush/Floss —> Next to my tooth brush When I do that habit, I just bump the tag with my phone. (This is basically a frictionless way to habit track, which I like) If that specific habit is a Yes/No kind of thing, a checkbox will be ticked in my Airtable. (I’m presently accomplishing this through IOS Shortcuts though I’m sure that Tasker can do the same thing for Android.) So I know how to create and restore from a Snapshot.As I understand it, I can rename the restored snapshot with the name of the old (corrupted, that's why I'm restoring) Base, and go on my way.But wait! All the links, forms, and sharing relate to the old base (of course)! So I have to reshare the new Base with all those folks, update links to the Base anywhere they exist, and give people with links to the old Forms, Views, etc, new links. What a pain!Am I missing something? Is there a better way?
