I have a lot of documents that want to organize. Airtable only allows photos. It would be great to add a scan feature.

I have a table with contact information for people and business. I need to associate contacts (in the same table) with each other where appropriate. When I associate Sally with Joey (see screen shot), I'd like Joey to automatically be added as an associated contact for Sally.I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how to automate this. Especially since I don't want to affect the Pizza Shop record in this case, I just need to locate the record that was just linked to (Sally) and enter the record that was updated (Joey) while also retaining any records the "linked to" record (Sally) already contained in the linked field (Pizza Shop). 

Hello guys! I work at a biotechnology company and we use bioreactors to produce fertilizers. My problem is the following: I have a database with two tables: Orders and Tasks One of the fields in the Projects table automatically calculates the number of fermentations (tasks) I have to run depending on the volume of fertilizer I need to produce. The calculation considers the total volume that must be made per order, the number of bioreactors I have available at the time of the order, and the production capacity of each bioreactor. Since the number of brews (tasks) is dynamic, I would like to automatically create a Task list for each order. For example, if I need to perform 17 fermentations (tasks) in a given order, I would like 17 new records to be created in the Tasks table and associated with the order. I Need to update an Airtable record's "Status" and "Booking Options" fields (both are Single Select type). I just signed up for Twilio, including a A2- 10DLC registration. I tried to send a couple test from Airtable, but Twilio says Undeliverable because I’m not registered. Does it really take up to two weeks to have an A2p 10DLC registration approved? Is there anyway to send or test twilio in the meantime?

Hello folks, I am new to Airtable, any help is highly appreciated. I have different tables under the same base that tracks existing inventory and sales. I would like to create a third table that summarizes data for example I would like each row to represent a month and calculate profit/loss for that month but if I use rollup or formula fields it will apply the same formula into entire column which doens’t help my case. I need unique calculations to be carried for each row as each row will represent a month. 

I’m trying to create a form as follows; Based on the entry on one of the fields, I send out an API request with the field value. I get a result from the API and I show that in the form itself. Is this possible?

Hi,   I’m used to work with spreadsheets where you can refer to a cell in a previous row.And I know spreadsheets (data in rows) and database (data in records) can’t be compared.But I would like to build a project where I can see the evolution of a certain value.Here you have a simple table where the first column (datum = Dutch for date) is chronologically ordered and each value is unique.In the third column, I entered the difference between the current status and the status of the “previous month”  manually to show what I want.  Is there any possibility to get this done in Airtable?  With formulas in another extra table?

Is there a way I can share just a single record with an individual, via a customized link?  My nonprofit runs a program where people apply and then their application goes through various stages.  We have an Airtable form (as the application), which links to a base where each person’s application is displayed as a separate record.  We would like a way for people to automatically view the status of their application, so we are trying to see if there is a way to share their own record with them, but only their record-- not anyone else’s records in the base. Obviously, we could copy and paste their record and send it to them, but we often are contacted multiple times by people who are wanting to know about the status of their application as it moves through the phases, so we are curious whether we could create a custom link that we can send to people after they initially submit their application.  The idea would be that they can then return to the s

hello my friends Can i set a role for validation at entering data in a table ? i have a table that contains promo- codes for a marketing department. Every promo code assigned for a section in sales department. it shouldn’t assign in the table for two sections in sales sales department. is there a role to validate if a colleague is entering a code in the table for department A, a role that says ‘this code is already used for department B’ ? is it available rather than the team filter on duplicates to resolve after that ? thanks

I need a column to calculate the total days- formula being ENDDATE minus STARTDATE plus 1.  Any suggestions?  I can get the datetime_diff, but that is days between not total days.Thank you!! 

Hi everyoneI hope for your help to improve an existing script for automating tasks for projects. I have courses and classes where we always have repetitive tasks in order to organize the courses.In order to avoid creating always the same tasks, I created templates with tasks and a script that copies the standard tasks to the task sheet, and assigns them to the person that need to deal with them.For example: each course need a zoom link, a graphic and a registration page. By selecting the template, these three tasks get copied and assigned automatically.So far so good. Now I want to add dependencies of the tasks in the template, because some tasks should have the status on hold, until a pre-requisite task is completed.The names of the tasks will repeat themselves, and when copying the tasks from the template to the task sheet I don’t know how to assign the right dependent task.This is the template sheet: 

Hi everyone, I have an automation, where the automation should copy a field whenever a new record is created. It should copy the data from Instance field to All Events field in the same table. However I get an error that says “Updating the record failed due to insufficient permissions.”. I made this automation as the owner of the base and I have absolutely no idea what or where is going wrong. Does anyone have any recommendations to solve this problem? Thank you in advance!

In my interface I can provide a Pie chart that will show the % of yes and no responses to a survey question.Each response, yes or no, is tied to a month value.  I want to see the % over time of the people that reported yes to display a trend chart month over month.  Example in Jan 42% reported Yes, in Feb 100% reported yes. This would be similar to my average satisfaction score month over month. How do I take the Yes/No answers and convert them into a % of the population in order to track month over month?

When I am downloading a .csv file from my base when opening the file in Microsoft Excel some of the data is missing/changed. The field that is having the issue is a linked field that lists numbers from an autonumber field. It seems that after 5 sets of 3 digit numbers the numbers just change to zeros. I have attached photos of the data from Airtable and what I am seeing in Excel.

I’m trying to write an Airtable script that sends data to my Integromat webhook trigger. How can you embed the full gallery view on a Wix Site. I don’t want users to have to click at the bottom of the table for the full view. I just want the full gallery view posted. Can this be done? This seems like it should be a no brainer but my brain can’t figure it out. Thanks for any help.

I am having an issue where I have a table that calculates a sum Total. I figured I could easily just show a user’s name + total on the interface but it seems very hard for some reason.Right now, I get the sum with a user’s name, but it then adds all of these columns for each unique sum there is within the data set.Example Image: And here is what the data l​​​​​ooks likeSo I am just trying to make a table on the interface (as we will share that view) that simply shows Name + Total.I have a bar chart showing this, which kind of works, but just having 2 columns with plain text would be nice too in the interface.Thank you!

Hey Airtable Community. I need help with automating the repetitive task of manually changing the name of a file after it’s been uploaded into my base. As of right now, we have a user filling out a form, and after it’s submitted, I want that to trigger the name changing. I have a field that is automatically created with a formula based on information captured in the form that I want the name changed too. I’ve been looking at using the Airtable automation feature, but after trying a bunch of things, I can’t get it to work (perhaps I’m just too new at this) I also feel like maybe using a script might be the answer, but I don’t know how to do that, and if that’s the path to get this to work, I’ll need your help too :slightly_smiling_face: . Ultimately, I’m not sure and was hoping you (the community) might know. Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi,I have an automation that is triggered when a record is created in Table X, and it then creates a new record in Table Y. This automation has been working well, but recently, I've noticed some failures in the Run History.It's not happening with all cases—only some. The trigger and all other actions work fine; the only issue is with the creation of the new record. The error shown is: “Creating the record failed due to insufficient permissions.”However, when I take the same record that triggered the automation and run a manual test using it, everything works perfectly and the record is created successfully.This is quite confusing—I don’t understand why some records fail while others don’t, and why it works without issues during manual test runs.Could you please help me troubleshoot this?

I’m trying to display metrics on claims details on a line or bar chart.  I would like to be able to insert a “goal” line so we can see easily if we are above or below our goal.   Is there a way to do this, or is there anything in the works that could accommodate this request?

Hi I would like to automatically open an input form based on a user input.I have a visitor request form(s),  First I would like to ask the user to identify the visit type (Form 1), based on a selection of a single drop down.  After the submit Form1 I would like to determine which Form to open next for more details based on their selection.  How can I accomplish this?
