The eco system ive been introduced to utilises airtable as a referencing and task hub for projects. The base data is integrated with Softr where records are created using a tiered importance methodology.Can someone please advise me on how to do the below without adding coding or other platforms for integrations to enable?When a record is created in Softr a. all fields must be filled. b. records appear in Airtable with a round robin assigned workflor for relevent teams c. each time a record is completed by the necessary team, the workflow pushes the record to the following team  Possibly integrate slack as an additional layer to communicate internally as well as link to input and update the above Create a dashboard on progress for each user and user group to track progress at micro and macro level of each projectAll advice is greatly welcome! Hello, I was hoping to get some guidance on what I’m doing wrong in regards to updating the “completed by” field on a salon “shift duties” board interface. My partner built the base/interface for her salon and has asked for help in making the automation work.The goal would be to change the drop-down for each task to “not done” every night via a scheduled trigger.I’ve found a few related topics and used those to guide me but I can’t seem to get past testing the actual record updating part.If I utilize the list of record IDs from the ‘find records’ step, I end up with ‘ received invalid input’ errors.My automation process:Scheduled Trigger → Find Records (Where “Completed By” is any of [all options selected]) →  Repeating Action Group (Repeat for each in [List of records]) and →  Update Record (Record ID is list of all records found previously - “Completed By” field updated to “not done”)A couple pics of my attempt:

I have two tables, Table 1 and Table 2, with different fields. When a specific record is populated in Table 2, I want the values of some of its fields to automatically appear in a corresponding record in Table 1where the cells were initially empty,  based on the primary fields of both tables, I’m calculating a total in Table 1 based on entries into records in several tables and need to have the total in Table1  automatically updated whenever the values change in the other tables. What is the best way to achieve this? IOW, what is the equivalent of XLOOKUP or Index Match in Airtable? 

I’ve just started some work as a freelancer for a company who have an eco system where airtable is the referencing hub for projects. Softr is used to create records linked to projects and the API pushes through the records to sit in Airtable. I’m searching for a way to create workflows easily:Generate automations whereby records that are imported from Softr to Airtable are automatically assigned to people in user groups on a sequential basis to spread workload Create a dashboard on progress for each user and user group to track progress.NB- this is entirely project based and therefore each step must be complete before progression. Thanks alot in advance for your input and advice! 

hi dear folks, I’m wondering, if I build the Base according to a specific project, once this project has been completed, how could I archive it? For instance, if I start from a Base on “house hunting”, after serval months, when I found the house, literally I shall not use this base anymore, it is no longer make sense to keep it on the workspace as well, and what’s the solution for the archive it in the local disk? Or do I need to archive it? Thanks for any pieces of advice.

I try to create CSV backup exports of all my bases as often as I remember. However, going through everything manually is a lot of work and leads to “not doing it” more often than not. I wish there was a way to automate this important backup process. Can this be done through an outside service maybe? Thanks in advance!

Hi all,Longtime lurker, infrequent poster. This might be a very simple issue, but it’s causing me grief & I can’t find any other posts about it.I have a table with my org’s class schedule (& all associated data) for multiple campuses. This is shared with the org in an interface. I’ve made a few different specific views, but mostly I have our users filter/sort/group the data in a way that suits their various workflows & bookmark the newly generated URL for future use. The customization option works great, and saves me from having to create a million views for all our teams. However, I can’t figure out how to allow users to show/hide fields, like they can in shared views of tables. Examples:

I'd like to have a changelog, ideally in Slack, that gets added to whenever a base, table, or field is created or deleted, and whenever a field name or type is changed. However, I couldn't find any functionality to allow this. Has anyone found a workaround for it? Thanks!

Hey everyoneMaybe I dreamed this, but I thought I could copy\transfer the layout of one existing Record Detail to another Record Detail.I know I can duplicate an existing Record Detail layout to a new Record Detail layout. That creates a new layout which I want to avoid since I would have to reference the new layout to replace a depreciated layout. And I have a lot of those that I need to clean up. Updating an existing Record Layout by using a different record layout is pretty useful.Is that possible? Was it ever possible? Thanks everyone!

Hi,I'm approaching launch for my first Airtable application, a support/ERP/CRM system for my wife's business (two users currently planned). Is there an agreed upon best practise how to launch a production version but yet be able to continue developing the application?I have little real experience in application management, although I have managed some LAMP applications with SQL updates and diffing PHP. I thought I would keep the current base as PROD, make a back-up of it and assign that a DEV role and continue developing new stuff there. But how to migrate changes from DEV to PROD?Rgds,Björn

I'm finally making great progress and haven't been frustrated enough to quit yet, so I think I'm going to be able to make this (along with fillout) to help support my makerspace.  I hope to eventually move from the free plan to Teams once I know I have all the major pieces in place.But once I do, and we're using it, I'm concerned that my future clugey attempts to add functionality might break operations.  Is there any concept of development, QA and production versions of a workspace?

I'm building a base to track volunteer sign-ups for a project. Table 1 stores Volunteer info Table 2 contains available Timeslots When a new volunteer signs up via a form on the Volunteer table, an automated email is sent confirming the timeslots they’re registered for.The issue: When I include a grid of timeslots (using a Find Records step in the automation), all of the times are showing in UTC. I need them to display in EST.Here’s what I’ve tried: I created a formula field to convert the time to EST using SET_TIMEZONE, and also tried A single-line text field that gets updated by a separate automation But when I try to include either of those fields in the grid, the grid shows the correct number of records, but all the cells are blank.Has anyone figured out a way to include times in the correct time zone (EST) inside a grid in an Airtable automation

Hello Airtable community, not sure it is possible, but Gemini says it is)) but when Gemini gives me the sample script and I adjust it and try to use it, it does not work. Here is what I am trying to do. I have a record (contacts database) where I have a multiple select “Status” for this record. And I have another multiple select “Services” with let’s say “Option A”, “Option B”, “Option C” and “Option D”.When I choose the option “Available” in this multiple select “Status”, I want to the script or automation to limit the options shown in the field “Services”. For example when “Status” is choosen for “Available”, my field “Services” will only display “Option B” and Option D” as an available options to choose from.Anyone thinks you can help me with some advise?

I am trying to convert an existing solution to airtable, and see some great enhanced functionality. however, there are relationships in my existing system that I am not sure how to appropriately recreate in airtable. For instance, i have a join table that shows several different related tables through a relationship. some of the relationships are many-to-many, and would be created in the main join table. What’s the best way to recreate that in AirTable?Thanks in advance…jesse

Hi, I have a request to set up a “tag” so that users can @mention everyone in a dept. in one new comment.  I tried doing this with groups.  I created a group made up of 4 users who are all Editors in the base, and gave the group the name “TechGroup”.  I would like to add a comment on a record and ‘@TechGroup’ so each member is notified. So, far this doesn’t seem to work.  Is there another way to tag multiple people in one mention? Thanks!

Can someone help with the coding of a script that converts the contents of attached .TXT files to a long Text filed?We have an attachment field [TXT] that contains one text file per field. We wonder if it is possible to copy the contents of each text file to a long text filed?I have see some notes on it, but we need scripting help to achieve it.Thanks for any advice.Kevin

Hi EveryoneI’m sure that this has been done before but I can’t seem to get anything I try to work Im looking to create a forula filoed that looks up and displays the PAYE Month a date in another field falls into for example 17/04/2024 would lookup and display PAYE Month 102/10/2024 would display PAYE month 620/08/2025 would display PAYE Month 5  I am dealing with the tax year in another field so I dont want to worry about the year below is the parameters I have tried if statements I have tried a switch example but cant get anything to work  I have tried setting a year start date and using dateAdd to add on the number days after the year start  but I just not getting anything to work right  If someone could point me in the right direction I would be really gratefullCheersJackieFrom Date

 Not sure what to title this.In a record detail interface page, there is the option to add a button and perform an action. (Yes, love it!) But it doesn’t seem like the option exists here to add a new record in a different base via a form—the dropdown on the right doesn’t seem to allow it. And unfortunately, “Interface Forms” for some reason still don’t count as “Interface Pages”, so I can’t click on “Go to interface page” and click on my form.The best current option seems to be “Go to external URL”, and put in the URL of the form. But that seems to only open my desired form inconsistently:open external URL in same tab = overwriting my current page, and there’s no way to complete that form, then hit a “back” button to get back to my record detail open external form URL in new tab = often it just does

I need to create a test/quiz for my employees in order for them to be certified in a subject area.I'd like to create a form with 30 questions, each question with up to 4 multiple choice answers.  I have an answer key, indicating which of the answers is correctIs there a way for the employee to complete the form and submit and AT automatically compares the answers to the answer key and provides the number answers correct and the percentage of answers correct out of 100.
