My company publishes books and the titles of the books often change throughout the course of the publication process. We currently ingest records via a CSV download from our title management platform that is manually uploaded to Airtable. We already have an automation that deletes or rolls up duplicate titles. Currently, when a book title changes, it is viewed by Airtable as a new record. Is there a way to have Airtable check the upload and see that the ISBN is the same and update the record title rather than create a new record? Example: Title ISBN ORIGINAL TITLE 123 NEW TITLE 123  Instead of creating a new record for “NEW TITLE”, I would like Airtable to see that the ISBN is the same and update “ORIGINAL TITLE” with “NEW TITLE”.  Thanks!

Hello, Been very busy and I suspect I’m going blind with what’s probably (hopefully) a simple data flow. As a picture says a thousand words, my problem is as per below; I can self link a record to its own table with a lookup field, which in this example I consider that as “Pushes to” - So A pushes to B. But what I’m needing, is another column that tells me the reverse of that relationship, so I can see that “B” is pulling from A - and then even create a filtered view around that very “Pulls From” data. I’m keen for your thoughts on this, hoping there’s something simple that I’ve missed that will allow this workflow. But I also have access to scripts/automations too if they’re the only way out of this.

I have two separate AirTable bases that I’m using to track our orders and inventory. I just upgraded from a free account because I wanted to be able to sync information from the two bases to be able to compare orders to inventory side by side. I’ve created a new base and synced tables from each existing base but cannot figure out how to get data from one table into either the other table or a new table. I’ve tried lookup fields and linking to new record fields and can’t get a new field to populate with information from the other table. Is this not possible or hopefully I’m just missing a simple solution?

Hello, I am trying to get a field named “Statsig Url” in a table named Experiments (this is a field with the url type). (My intent is to get the record id based on the value of the Statsig Url field). I am collecting grades for students, a few of the grade types have subcategories that need to be averaged (some of the nomenclature is strange as it’s being translated from another language). I need to calculate a “Values” score by averaging the “Honesty”, “Empathy”, “Lucidity”, Performance”, “Respect” scores. I’m trying to keep the table design very simple as we will need to eventually translate and teach non-English speakers how to use it.  Is there a way to calculate averages only for select rows, by student? (I would like to calculate a Values score and a Property Respect score by averaging the relevant subcomponents). I understand I can see it with a View, but I want to be able to calculate the actual number to put in a clean interface view. And if I need to collect this data monthly, are the columns I have for Month/Year the best way to do that, and we would just continue adding rows? 

Is there still no way to create reusable code in Automations?I see this thread from 2021, with 6k+ views, which seems to have no resolution (blockchaining is possible in Scripting Apps, but not Automations).  Someone must have solutions for this?  Copying/pasting seems prehistoric.

Cannot get this Switch to work and its very simple.  I have a field that has the year of the record stored as a number (ie 2025).  I can easily get this to work with these arguments as a singular IF, but I dont want to nest 5 Ifs. The below will not function, doesnt even give an error, wont even let me save it. Hello! I am trying to set up a work request form, and am stuck on one part. I’m not sure whether I need to use formulas or automations, but I’ve scoured help videos and articles to no avail trying to find what I’m looking for. I would like to have a numerical Work Order ID (basically a consecutive numerical number) added to a record field as soon as the record is created. Ideally, I’d love for it to take this form (Year-####), as that’s the current system we use, but I’d settle for just a unique numerical number for each new record created. I’m sure this is simpler than I’m making it out to be, but any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I’m trying to integrate SAP Business One (SAP B1) Service Layer API with Airtable scripting to fetch business partner data. The integration works perfectly in Postman and Python, but when I run the same API request inside an Airtable scripting block, I get the following error:401 - Invalid session or session already timeout. What I’ve Tried: Confirmed that it works in Postman and Python I can successfully authenticate and fetch data from SAP B1. Session ID is returned properly, and I manually add the ROUTEID. Using remoteFetchAsync() in Airtable Scripting I correctly pass Content-Type and Cookie headers. Thanks in advance for any help but I am stumped. I am trying to automate updating a multi-select field from a Linked Record Field, and after looking for help here I found this thread: I followed the guidelines here but I am running into an issue with a completely different field. Hi there, hoping someone can assist me. I need a formula that will note true/false based on an attachment field.For further context, this will be used in another formula that combines various fields into a link which goes to a custom Typeform. The fields from Airtable are set as hidden fields, but at the moment I'm having issues with the logic because it can't recognise if the data is true/false since the entire file name is showing. Having this terminology would be good so I can simplify the link and the Typeform logic.I tried working with the TRUE formula but couldn't get that to work.Let me know if you need more information. Hello,I am in need of a formula that can calculate a duration of time for payroll for hourly employees. I have a column with Start Time and one with End Time using duration. I also have separate columns for both to capture AM or PM. I just can’t seem to get the formula correct and getting the correct duration. If I need to change my columns I am up to however it can work. I do have a date column to if that helps with the formula. Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi - I'm absolutely stuck trying to achieve the results I want, and I'm hoping for some focused support. I have 3 Tables in my Base:- Vendors - which contains companies I contract work from.- Resources - which contains the individual resources that work at those companies, as well as their individual monthly rates. Resources are linked to Vendors.- Monthly Cost - contains a list of records for each month of the year (eg; January 2025, February 2025, March 2025, etc).  In Resources, I'm assigning Months, from the Monthly Cost table, for when I expect this resource to work. In Monthly Cost table, can see the assigned resources by month, and I created a Rollup field to show the Vendor names associated with the Resources that are assigned to the month. It also has two formula fields: Prior # of Years from Joined date to Separated and Total Years. I need your helpto correct the formula for calculating the total years of membership.I am trying to calculate the total number of years they have been members. I can do that, but the problem is that when they join, separate, and rejoin, we don’t give them credit for the years they were gone/separated. I am working with two separate bases in Airtable and would like to use a Lookup field to retrieve data from a table in another base. Is there a native way to achieve this without relying on third-party integrations?Additionally, I need to link a specific cell from one table in a base to another table in a different base. Is there a built-in Airtable feature that allows this?I would appreciate any insights or best practices from those who have worked with similar requirements.

We have a list of names and dates, like so McClelland, David (1820 - 1899) We would like to separate the dates from the the name, so everything in parentheses would be extracted and moved to a new column. I know there must be some code for this, but I am not sure what it is. Help! Kevin
