I have an Automation that updates a Multi-Select field in a different table. When the update occurs it over writes what is currently in that field. Each name has a different color. I want to augment, or add to the existing data in the Multi-Select field not over-write it. Not sure how to approach the problem within Automation. For Example, a field of user names, each name is in a color bubble separated with a space. Initially the field is updated with the name “John”. A second update to the field with the name of “Tom”. The resultI was expecting is : “John Tom”, or “John, Tom” each name in a different color bubble, but what I get is “Tom” and an empty color bubble. Any suggestions.

Hello, I copied a database from another account, it worked perfectly (almost), the forms followed well, but the automations did not follow... and that was the most important thing for me. Did I make a mistake?

Hello - I have a event data table ( nested in a event base) where I have list of potential events where my clients could participate. One of the column in the table is year column where I have a added a field agent to check the year the event is happening by routing the field agent to the event website cell.  So the field agent goes to the event website and check the year of the event and outputs that in the year column. I want the field agent to go back to the event website on a regular basis to keep checking for the year. Because the year column is connected to a secondary trigger automation where multiple field agents goes to the event website and collates the details about the event (Description, Target audience, topics discussed and others) For the year, when the field agent checks the website today, it might be still 2025 but tomorrow the website might have been to the subsequent year which is 2026.  So the question is is there a way t

Hello, I've built my site and linked my forms from the backend and captured in AirTable perfectly. This forms contain data from buyers/sellers landlord/renters(property field), I want to know if Omni can assist me in creating a matching feature so I can link buy-sell or landlord-renter requests that come in with certain perimeters which then matches and creates a new set of data, that i can follow up with. Is this possible?

I wanted to find out from the Airtable Community - is anyone using Airtable to send *Scheduled* emails? If so, then I’d like to know how you do it, and how timely the emails are. Over the last couple of years, I remember hearing on these forums that Airtable doesn’t update very regularly… and that if I say send it at 5:00pm Airtable might send it at 4:45pm or 5:15pm, or even a day late. Is that still the case, or can I send scheduled emails that are sent at the correct time yet?  To be clear, for my use case, it doesn’t have to be exactly on the minute for me. I am at a nonprofit that’s just trying to simplify our systems to have a lower technical learning curve. It’s up to 150 emails a week for appointments. I want to simplify these workflows so I don’t have to use Make or Zapier to send *Scheduled* emails.  I would be glad to use Airtable AI

I’m confused at why this is so difficult to figure out. I want a record created automatically once a month in a table via automation with start and due dates filled out. You can’t add formulas to automation fields so that’s a no go. My workaround is that I’ve created a ‘creation date’ field that is filled in by the automation’s ‘expected trigger time’. That create date field is then used to fill in a start date and due date formula field using the DATEADD function with some math. My problem with this method is that I’m not able to change dates independent of each other if I need some flexibility and the only way to adjust dates is by adjusting the ‘creation date’ date field. Having due dates populate based on the date the automation was fired off seems simple enough but I can’t really figure out the best way to do this. Any input would be great!

My AirTable implementation deals with scheduling and staffing of courses for a university. We have a table for Professors, a table for Courses, and a table for Offerings which marries the two together with each record representing a single staffed course-section that students will ultimately be able to register for.Of note: currently our professors do not have AirTable access. Having them create accounts is currently not an option, unfortunately. Additionally, our plan does not include AirTable Portals.When we initially link professors to offerings, we need to send emails to have the professor accept or decline the position. We currently intend to do this via a Fillout form that will allow them to edit a single select field with accept/decline as the options (the “Accepted?” field below). My AirTable project deals with scheduling and staffing courses for a University.  Good day.  I’m looking to add or rather hard code the time 6:00am as shown int the automation field below: How might I go about doing this?  Currently it brings in the date, but it changes a bit.  For example it’s specified as 7/21/2025, however what it changes it to is 7/20/2025 5:00pm  Here’s the automation:Would there be some way to “tack” on the hard coded time 6am or would I have to create yet another field to do that?  Eventually this will be used in a Workato Recipe, and they’re more buggy. Thanks!

Hey all.I have a table that has a “status” or “level” for users.  The idea is to have the formula update an unique status/level with the year, e.g.,CONCATENATE(Select," - ",YEAR)SO what I’d need is Gold 2024, Gold 2025, and then when the year with a formulat: (YEAR(TODAY()) updates, we’ll have 2026 and so on.Unfortunately, with a formula right now, 2024 cannot be created.  Perhaps an Automation that updates this based on year(today()) ? Any ideas?

Hi all, I want to create a Table 1 with a list of tags and use it to create a matchmaking system that works across other tables.So whenever I add a tag to Table 1 it would automatically appear as a tag option in different multiselect columns in other tables. Is it possible? How can I use the same tag system across several columns? 

Hello,We are using the “Phone SlackID” field in Airtable and passing its value into the body of a message using the “Slack Send a message” action in an Automation to send mentions.In the “Phone SlackID” field, we’ve set each user’s display name in the format @last.first, and it has been working correctly for almost all users.However, after one staff member changed their display name, they no longer receive mentions. Specifically, @last.first now appears as plain text.Could you please advise us on how to resolve this issue?

The above is a view.The idea is instead of trying to get an automation to trigger by 48 hours prior to the start date of an event, and sending an email, I thought perhaps, the automation being triggered when entered by a view that only displays events that are 48 hours(2 days) prior to an event. However, my view from the settings still shows, all the start dates.   

Hi, I’m building a page to track hours — comparing what we’ve budgeted versus the actual hours spent. We’re tracking time in Harvest, and at the moment I’m manually entering that data to match it up, which means there’s no direct link between the two systems. We use the same standard phases for every project (example: B01-B09). Each time a client signs a fee proposal, I want to add these same phases to the new project and allocate the initial budgeted hours. In Excel, I’d simply copy and paste multiple rows, but in this system I can’t duplicate more than one row at a time, which is slowing things down.Ideally, I’d like to be able to duplicate all phases (B01-B09) and assign them to a new project in one go, then input the hours. I also update the actual hours weekly, so it needs to be easy to maintain.

I have an email automation set up so that when an attachment is added to a field, an email is triggered to a project manager with a copy of that attachment.Currently, we delete the old attachments before dropping a new one in so you do not receive multiple attachments with the email that gets triggered.Now with the new Versions feature, I want to keep the old attachments in the field but only have the latest attachment added to the email. Is there any way to limit the attachment field in the email automation to only the latest one that was added?

Trying to build an automation where an email is sent when a record enters a view (specified by a month status). The record contains a previously uplodaded file (pdf). Up to that point I’m able to make the email automation work, but when trying to add a last “update record” step (so that the record is updated after the email has been sent out, by having its status changed/updated) I get an error. Seems as if Airtable wont be capable of updating the record  “status field”  because the record contains an attachment. Trying to work a solution that will allow me to keep using the product. I have a paid version.
