I have Airtable base which contains persons name and their job title. I want to retrieve LinkedIn URL of person’s based on their name. How to do that?
I have created an automation that sends an email with text and numbers. The numbers are pulled from two dynamic fields. One field is a percentage and the other field is a currency. However, the percentage and currency formats aren’t making it over to the email (sent by Airtable). Looking for input on how to format the numbers into percentage and USD currency.
Basically, I want to import a Google Sheet into AirTable then I want to be able to edit fields in AirTable and those fields are automatically updated in the Google Sheet. Thanks for any help!
Hello community,I’m a coordinator for events around Cleveland, Ohio and we track food truck vendors in Airtable. Each vendor needs to submit a TFSO permit (Temporary Food Service Operation), which is a standardized PDF. Right now we export each record from Airtable and manually fill out the permit PDF, which is repetitive and slow. I just discovered Instafill.ai, an AI PDF form-filling service. They have a case study about automating Michigan STFU permits, which sounds like exactly what we need.Has anyone used Airtable automations to send base data to similar services? Or used Zapier to automate filling PDF permits from Airtable records? Any tips or examples would be a huge help. I can share the blank permit PDF if that’s useful. Thanks!
I’ve set up a base that tracks a specific team’s incoming trouble Tickets. The main Tickets table has a single-select field for Status, which can be ‘Submitted’, ‘Needs further details’, ‘Queued’, ‘In Progress’, or ‘Done’. I’m now working on reporting and management would like to know the full time it takes for ticket resolution, but also how long a ticket remains in each status before progressing.I can’t decide which of these approaches would be preferable: Have an automation create a new linked record in a Reporting table with a time stamp when a ticket is created, and then create an additional new linked record on the Reporting table for each subsequent Status update. Then I’d need to do a little more work to compile all of the records on the Reporting table that link to each Ticket (I’m assuming via a bunch of rollup fields). I’m hoping that stamp can also include the name of the Status that’s being recorded Have an automation create a new linked record in a Reporting table with a
Good afternoon,I am using Make.com to pull information from Airtable, generate a letter/timesheet, save this to One Drive then I need to import it back to Airtable as an attachment. The Make.com syntax is fine (and has been checked by the Make.com support team), and when I run it, there is a fleeting icon of a file appearing in the attachment field on Airtable, but then it disappears and the attachment is not in Airtable. If I run this through Cloud Convert to create a PDF, it works, but there is a 10 second delay in creating then uploading the document, which then means further iterations fail. What I need is for the document to pull in as a PDF directly from One Drive to the attachment field in Airtable. Any help gratefully received. It works fine when I use Google Drive, but I’m trying to avoid this as the company would like me to keep it all on the Microsoft subscription.Thank you, Jane
I have a base and different tables. I am working on scenario in Make.com. the logic is watch records ( rsvp table), get a record from ( rsvp table), get a record from presentation Topic, search records( Summit speaker), update Summit Speakers, zoho email, search records( affiliate interest) and then update affiliate interest. When I use id it gives me 200 but no field updated it is clear but when I map data from watch records and get a record (rsvp) to update affiliate interest I get an error 422 it says can not fine such collum. But all collums are there, cache was cleaned, reconnecting was done, tried upsert module. Nothing helps I think problem somewhere in Airtable but where? Will be glad to hear any suggestions? Thanks for help.
I have a form that someone may fill out multiple times using the same email address. I want to use that email address to update the original record created with the new information (if it is new). Can someone guide me through the automation to do this?
I’ve set up a marketing base and part of what I’m using it for is creating UTM parameters. There are a few fields that are inputted via form, like campaign name and start date. Each of those has a secondary field in the base where the data from the first is made lowercase, special characters and spaces are removed, etc. Then those reformatted fields are all concatenated together into one field called ‘Calculated UTMs’. As is standard with UTMs, several of those different sections are separated by underscores.I’ve set up an automated email to send these generated UTMs to someone on our GA team, and I’m pulling in the ‘Calculated UTMs’ field, but it’s displaying the final UTMs incorrectly - instead of showing with the underscores, it’s removing them and using them as indicators of where to make the text italicized. The field is also shown in an interface, and the underscores are correct there. I’ve tried using asterisks and backslashes around that field name in my automation, but it’s no
Hi there. I have a table "business partners" with records of type "supplier" and "brand" which are linked between each other. a record of type "supplier" can be linked to multiple records of type "brand" but a brand can only be linked to one supplier. i always want the links to be two way. i.e. if i add the record "Gmail" to the table and link it to the existing record (of the same table) called "Google", i want airtable to automatically identify that there is a missing backlink (ie. record Gmail has "Google" in its "link" field, but record "Google" does not have anything in its link field) and link the record "Google" to "Gmail" automatically. i have an automation that can trigger based on view conditions correctly. i want the automation to trigger, then "find" the linked record (i.e. Google) by ID and then copy whatever existing links are in the "link" field and add "Gmail" to that. However automations refuses to find a record in a table based on the values of a "link" field. ev
Question:What are the best practices or automation options in Airtable to manage and proactively govern user licenses and access?Details:We're currently reviewing our Airtable usage to optimize license management and access control. Our goals are:Reduce the number of licenses to under 50 (e.g., a user like Stevie B. currently has two licenses).Convert some Editors to Viewers where appropriate.Remove access for users who no longer need it.Identify unknown users with access and resolve their status. We would also like to develop a governance process to prevent this from being a recurring issue. For now, our model involves each admin monitoring Editor licenses whenever adding a user and reaching out to teammates if any license changes are needed. We’d love to hear:How other teams handle license management efficiently in Airtable.Recommendations for automation or tools to track and alert admins about license usage.Any governance frameworks that have worked for similar access management needs.
Hello, The article on “Airtable automation action: Send MS Teams message” has options mentioned in it that I don’t see on my airtable (we have enterprise), specifically the “Dynamically messaging channels and users” section. Are these upcoming changes? I would love to see these implemented, especially being able to tag people in teams messages or sending messages straight to users. Link to the article: https://support.airtable.com/v1/docs/send-ms-teams-message-actionLet me know. Thanks!
hello i want to make symptom and medicine database. where i select multiple symptome and common medicine shows. i have done relationship, but how to get common answer of multiple symptoms medicine . plz guide
Hey! Wondering if anyone has any insight into this!I'm creating an automation between Make.com, Chat GPT and Airtable to automate part of my content creation process. I'm stumped in this automation and would love a hand! The make.com senario uses a webhook to grab an airtable record, sends the record data to Open AI for Chat GPT to make a completion then sends the completion back to the original airtable record. And it's all working, which is exciting!EXCEPT the chat GBT completion doesn't end up back in the airtable record. I'm not getting any error messages to troubleshoot though. Not from make, airtable or chat gpt so I'm not sure what or how to troubleshoot this. All I can see is that the scenario completes successfully but there's no output in airtable.Inside the Make.com RAW log there also shows a Chat GPT output but the output doesn't relay to the irtable record. Again, I'm not getting an error message anywhere throughout the process. It all looks lik
Hello Community, We have noticed the following error when sending automated emails: Although I have defined the customer as the recipient (with myself as the trigger in CC), the email is primarily sent to me and only to the customer in CC. Screenshots are attached. Do you have any idea what could be causing this?
HERE IS A TRANSMITTAL - TO 3 PEOPLE -AND WITH 2 DOCS….MATRIX AT THE BOTTOM GIVES THE COMBINATIONS OF PERSON (EMAIL AND NAME) AND DOCUMENT (URL AND POSSIBLY ATTACHMENT)WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO IS CLICK ON SOMETHING LIKE (INDIVIDUALLY) THE 2 X INDIVIDUAL ROWS FOR RECIPIENT…..SEND THAT PERSON AN EMAIL THAT CONTAINS EITHER OR BOTH, THE URL TO GET BACK TO THIS SCREEN (AND THEN WE HAVE TO PAY A LICENSE FOR THAT USER OF COURSE) SO THEY CAN UPDATE THEIR 2 ROWS IN MATRIX - OR - BETTER - SEND THE EMAIL WITH JUST THEIR TWO ROWS - WITH URL AND ATTACHMENT LINK - AND SOMEHOW A CHOICE OF APPROVE/REJECT/NOTED STATUS AGAINST EACH DOCUMENT THAT SOMEHOW COMES BACK TO THE MATRIX ROWS AND UPDATES THAT STATUS AGAINST THEIR NAME AND THE RIGHT DOCUMENT.- IS THAT POSSIBLE ? ANY BETTER IDEAS…..BEEN AROUND THE HOUSES WITH ZAPIER AND JUST COULD NOT MAKE HEADWAY SO AIRTABLE AUTOMATION MIGHT BE WAY TO GO (SOMEHOW).THANKS - YOUR ADVICE IS INVALUABLE!MIKE IN SW LONDON UK.
Hello,In two different tables, there is a “customer” field linked to the “customers” table. This field can contain several customers (not unique).I would like to be able to copy the customer names from the field in table 1 to the customer field in table 2 without deleting any existing data, but adding to it. (Copying and pasting deletes the old data.)Example:Table 1: John; Paul; AliceTable 2: Richard; Linda; John After copying to table 2:John; Paul; Alice; Richard; LindaKeep Richard, Linda, and John, and do not duplicate John, who is in both tables. How can I do this?Thank you and have a nice day. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
What does this mean?"cannot assign list of object to collection of complex types"I can't select any field values. And how do I make it so I can select it.
I have a number of automations that have been working for years that suddenly stopped finding records as of the first time they ran in July. They were supposed to be looking for records in a related view, but were listing Condition Filters that had nothing to do with that view.I tried changing them to use Conditions instead of a View, and there were condition filters defined, apparently from copying another automation and then modifying it. They have been this was as far as I know from the beginning, but worked based on the View filters until July.I have cleared out the unused condition filters and am waiting for the first run in August to verify it is fixed. Just wanted to figure out why they used to work and quit without changes on my part.
Hi everyone,I’m hoping to tap into the community's wisdom here because I feel like I'm missing something obvious.I'm currently working in a base where I frequently need to link a large number of records from one table to a single record in another. For example, I just added 75 new [Tasks] for a marketing campaign and needed to link all of them to the one [Campaign] record. My current process involves either manually clicking the '+' and finding the record 75 times, or setting up a fairly clunky workaround with automations that feels like overkill. It’s incredibly time-consuming and prone to errors. This got me thinking about building a simple extension to solve this once and for all. Before I dive in and spend time building it, I wanted to ask if this is a common pain point for others too. Here’s how I imagine a simple tool could work:* Open the extension and select the table and view you want to work on (e.g., the Tasks table and the New Tasks view).* Use checkboxes to select all the rec
Me podrías ayudar.mil gracias
Good afternoon,I'm trying to use Airtable automations to send an email to folks through my Gmail account. Airtable is directly connected to my Gmail account. The emails send successfully, but the problem is that when the email shows up in the recipients' inboxes, the sender name is just my first name in all lower case (e.g., "matt"), but I'm sending it on behalf of an organization. This is unprofessional and isn't what I'm trying to communicate to my recipients. So my question is:How can I change the "Sender" on these emails when using Airtable Automations to send emails through my Gmail account?I already confirmed my Gmail settings, my Google account settings, etc. Honestly, it looks like it's just pulling the info from my email address (e.g., "matt" from "matt@company.com").Surely there's a way around this???TIA,ML
Hello,I would like to update the data in an Airtable table from an Excel spreadsheet. This is a “Customers” table (approximately 1,500 records) which includes a ‘Department’ column. The data for these “Departments” for each customer has changed, and the new values are in an Excel file.I would like to be able to replace the value in the “Department” field for each “Customer” with the corresponding value in the Excel file.If anyone has any ideas on how to do this...Thank you
I wanted to share a recent experience in case anyone else has run into the same thing, and if not, to bring it to the community’s attention. It’s one of those odd edge cases that can cause a lot of confusion when troubleshooting automations, and I think it’s worth having on the radar for anyone building complex workflows. Recently, I was troubleshooting an automation that ran in an unexpected way. While reviewing the automation run logs and the record’s historical logs, I couldn’t figure out how it had been triggered. The revision history showed no relevant edits, yet the automation clearly had fired. After digging deeper and testing different scenarios, I eventually discovered the cause, the collaborator had unintentionally undone an action almost immediately after performing it, either by quickly unchecking a box or pressing Cmd+Z (or Ctrl+Z) on their keyboard. Airtable’s automation system is sensitive enough to register the initial change even if it’s quickly reverted. However, Airt
When creating a trigger using the “When Record Matches A Condition”, is there a way to enter a table value into the matching field, other than a hard-coded value? For example, the table has 2 columns, [Cost] and [Original Cost]. Want to trigger an update when [COST] != [Original Cost], but it seems to only allow entering of an actual value. “When Record is Updated” trigger does work to accomplish this, but it can take about 10 seconds to update the destination field, and begins to execute the trigger the moment the value box is changed (If the value entered 100, it seems to run for 1,0,0 and then 100, as I can see the other fields updating with multiple values until the final value). Sometimes, if we type too quickly, it doesn’t update and will update based on “10” rather than “100”.
