Hey everybody, I need your help I have an automation that works when a new record is created. However, I already have over 7,000 existing records. I want to add a button to all the records that pressing it will: Duplicate the record. Delete the old record. Remove the word “clone” that was added to the new record. What is the easiest solution you recommend? Thanks!

Hi Expert, i am new to Airtable and i would like to seek your help on setting of my automation i have 2 tables: Table A - Store up the items information with price, name, cost, supplier name, etc Table B - Store up the supplier name, credit limited, item code, etc. So i would like to set up an automation, when i added a new record in table A, then airtable can find the new record and get the supplier name. then it goes to table B search for this supplier name, if the supplier name exist, then do nothing, but if there is no this supplier name, then i create a new row. Sorry that i am not very good in automation and would like seek your help to teach me the setup , thanks!!

Hello! I have a rollup field that finds the minimum and maximum times that somebody has requested office hours, and therefore creates the start and end times that would go into, say, an Outlook Calendar event. I have confirmed that it is formatted like a date in the pre-rollup field, and it still asks me about how to format the date post-rollup. However, when I want to use these fields in the calendar event creation automation, the field is just blank and my automation breaks. Is there something I’m missing? I’ve tried also creating a formula field that takes the rollup field and formats it like a date, but again still get getting a blank field. It appears to work when I create a strictly-date field, but that defeats the purpose of my rollup. Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Every time my script starts to find the specific record to work with it stops with an error. My database has 20k entries with 30 fields. There is no possibility to use scripting for managing records at all in such a case. How can I solve that?

Hi there, Hoping to get some help on setting up a base where all production tasks are the same but will need to be updated and changed out season overseason with new dates based on set start dates and set dates. Below is a screen shot of the excel example dates and when they shift season over season as well as a screen shot of the base I started. I feel it might make more sense to have two sheets one with task that reoccur each season then another with dates for when each of those tasks needs to start based on the season? Let me know if anyone can provide any guidance for how best to load in the in the data

I have dated element I am sending weekly with an e-mail automation. I cannot get them to sort according to beginning date. They are randomly sorted on the grid. Is there a way to fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi All, I have an issue that I think would be simple to resolve, but so far has eluded me. I have a table with a status column with 3 possible options, that stack on each other. What I would like to happen is for the status to be automatically set based on 3 date fields. I have found a way to automatically concatenate the 3 status based on the 3 date fields, using a formula, which is great, but the issue is that this formula results in a string that does not play well with the chart “apps” and I cannot visualize the counts of # of records with each status. So I need the status to be in the multiple select format in order to be able to use them in the apps. But I cannot figure out a way to automate the population of the status the way I can with a formula. I tried to use automation based on the formula to fill in the multiple select field, but it only pulls in the “Acquired” status and creates blank statuses. Any help would be appreciated

Hi all. I have several tables, Batches, Protocol, Points & Stability. In table Protocol I have a linked field to batch# in Batches, and 2 more fields, a single select; and another multiple linked field from 3rd table Points that makes an array of a variable number of Points (1 month, 3 months, etc.) for a record in Protocol. My goal is to get any automation if possible, when a new record in Protocol is made (with multiple n points field), to create n new records in the Stability table according the number of points, where each new record pulls the different points of the array and the single select. This is needed because in Stability table each record uses a initial date field and sums for each Point a fixed months depending on the date (30 days for 1 month, 90 days for 3 months, etc.). So I can get an alert when any record in Stability reaches the due date (initial date + point time). Any ideas? Tks

Hello, We are trying to reproduce in Airtable what is essentially an abstract application system. It’s better than what we currently have but there is a process flow we are having issues with. the flow we expect/want: User completes Airtable form #1 - a standard abstract submission form. On that form they have the option of adding 3 attachments; a profile picture, a short ePoster abstract, and a 5-minute SciTalk video. Crucially this is optional at this time. They do not have to submit this content but can. We send them a thank you email complete with the next steps. This includes a link to Airtable form #2 a simple form to submit their profile picture, ePoster, and SciTalk. When they submit the form it will update to ADD these new documents to the original form submission rather than replace it. Once the user submits the 2nd form they receive a second thankyou ema

Hi there! I want to create an automation trigger based on selecting a specific single select input. Is it possible to have the automation discern between which one is selected or just that the field was changed? For instance, my single select is a “status” tab and want to automate different types of emails based on the current status.

Because the script need a user answer to carry out the action (yes or no) when he find a duplicate into the conditions. And I would like the script carry out “yes” by himslef at each time. I have encountered a new problem running automations using Outlook 365 email. When I test this step, I get this error: Microsoft reported an error while processing this action: Access to OData is disabled. It was working fine until a few days ago. I asked the email administrator and he says there have been no recent changes to the email settings. Has anybody encountered something like this? I did a Google search but there is not a lot of information on this error.

I have a Client Table which links to an Appointment Table. The Primary field of the Appt Table is a date field. On the Client Table, I have an Appointment Lookup field which looks up Appts that fit certain parameters. I then have an automation setup which copies the Appointment Lookup field into a Linked Record field. These linked records are displaying the date/time as 7 hrs later than the correct date/time which is the name/primary field of the record (the lookup field also displays the date/time correctly). If I click on the linked record it expands the record and the name/date is correct. It only seems to be happening with the automated links. If I create a separate linked record field and choose some appts manually, they display correctly. So, it seems there is something in the automation, maybe having to do with a timezone setting (?) that I’m not sure how to fix.

AirTable customer service sent me here after saying they couldn’t re-create the error. Since last Tuesday, my automations to Facebook have been failing. They were working fine before, then they stopped. Twitter remains connected and the automations are fine. I changed nothing that would trigger this but here’s what I’ve done to try and resolve it. 1- Disconnect the Facebook account. 2- Reconnect the Facebook account. 3- Go to automations and select the Facebook account. 4- Select the Facebook page for the automation. Also note, I manage 4 pages. Only the one that I have previously used is showing up. 5- The selected Facebook page does not stay there. 6- I receive an error message about the automation. You have 100 rows with pictures. You want to modify the pictures to include the logo of your company and a frame on top of these pictures. I figure this would need an automation. The question is can you superimpose two columns (Pictures) on top of each other? to create a third column with the mix of both pictures?

I want to create a 3 step automation, but having trouble with step 3 (update record) When a record matches conditions. I want this to only run 1x per month on the 30th day of month (I know how to do this) Find records in a table that match certain conditions (I know how to do this) Update all records that match the certain condition in step 2. Specifically, I want to update a column to have checkbox checked for all the records the meet the condition in step 2. Can someone please assist

Hi, Two questions about Automations: I have a record in a table that is linked to multiple records in another table. I have a trigger set up that triggers when a record in table A matches a certain condition. This works fine. As the action, I wish it to update all records that a linked to the triggering record. This works when only a single record is linked in table B but fails when there are multiple. How can this be resolved? I have an Automation set up to send a Slack message to a channel when a new record is added to a table. This works fine when the record is added via a form as all the data in the fields is added at the same time. However, when a new record is added in Grid view, the automation triggers as soon as I tab away from adding data in the first field of the record. This causes a Slack message to be sent with missing data. Eg: “A new invoice for “” has been added with the cost: “”.”, rather than something l

Hi everyone, I have a record called “projects copy” (its just a duplicate name) and I’m pulling projects which are linked to a member’s memberstack ID. I also have a table called “members” The members table also contains this memberstack ID. I would like to automatically update the “projects copy” table in other columns with the information from the “members” table, so that I can bring in their profile information, like picture, slug, username, email, etc. How can I do this?!

I have two tables: Table A: Populated from a form from an external source. It has 3 columns: Customer Name, Customer ID and Entry Date. Table B: Contains 10 columns of customer information, including Customer Name, Customer ID and Completed. Options for the completed field are Yes/No. I want to update the Completed field in Table B to “Yes” whenever a customer completes the form/a new entry is added to Table A. I’ve gotten close and can do it manually by creating a linked field of Customer ID, but is there any way to do it with an automation? I feel like I’m missing something simple.
