Hello! I am trying to set up a work request form, and am stuck on one part. I’m not sure whether I need to use formulas or automations, but I’ve scoured help videos and articles to no avail trying to find what I’m looking for. I would like to have a numerical Work Order ID (basically a consecutive numerical number) added to a record field as soon as the record is created. Ideally, I’d love for it to take this form (Year-####), as that’s the current system we use, but I’d settle for just a unique numerical number for each new record created. I’m sure this is simpler than I’m making it out to be, but any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hello All! Thanks in advance for any help but I am stumped. I am trying to automate updating a multi-select field from a Linked Record Field, and after looking for help here I found this thread: I followed the guidelines here but I am running into an issue with a completely different field. When I test, I get this: I am not sure why it is trying to do anything with the photo field :(Long story short, I want when someone is added to this department on one table, for their profile to be updated as well, with the matching department name on the multi-select field. Here is the way I set the automation:

I am trying to create an automation to tag Donors as recurring when they make a donation that has a recurrence of more than 1. One table has Donors, and the other has Donations and a field called “Recurrence Number.” I tried to set it up so that when a donation record enters the view “recurring” (because the donation has a recurrence number higher than 1) the Donor in the linked record field has a field updated to tag them as a “recurring donor.” But i keep getting the error “the record does not exist and am not sure why. 

Hi! I’m trying to create an automation that is basically:If publish date is yesterday and status is not ‘published’ then the publish date updates to today.  I saw some people mentioning creating a TODAY() formula field and using that as a dynamic trigger. Questions with this:How will this field affect already existing records?  What needs to be added between the parentheses of the TODAY() formula?

I've been trying to find out what counts towards my automation run; however, either I can't find it, or I'm constantly overlooking the something.Basically I just want to have a solid grasp on what adds towards my automation limit?Is it just counted every time an automation runs?Does steps in the automation also count?Does loops count as one or multiple runs?

I'm experiencing issues with error notifications in automations. Notifications have been disabled for all accounts, yet some accounts are still receiving them.Is there a setting that overrides the user's notification preferences in their interface?

All,I am trying to create a simple automation that for some reason, wont work.   On my “Trips” table I have a date submitted field.  When this field is populated, I want all the corresponding expenses that are listed on the “Receipt Log” table to be updated with a submission date.  I created a view on my Trips table to show all records that have the date submitted field populated and I use that view as my trigger.  I then do a “Find Records” action that shows all the expenses that have the same “trip name” as the trips in the view.  The find records is working perfectly. I then created an Update Record action and using the Airtable Record ID from the Find Records.  But when I test this action out, it continues to fail saying “invalid input”.  I can’t figure out why. Appreciate any suggestions,Kevin

Hi Airtable Community, I’m attempting to send an email every time a new record is created. The message of the email should include the contents of every field that has data in that new record. Our fields are added to regularly, and I do not want to edit the automation every single time a new field is added to our table.  Is there already a known solution to this, that will automatically include all fields with data in the message of the email without pre-coding the specific field into the automation?  Thank you,Danny

Hello everyone, I have a pretty specific question form a form I want to have connected to my site. So I want to have a contact form on my website that is kindoff a two step process. First step is the user inputs their name, number and address of the property. Once the user inputs this info and clicks get a quote, it will take them to the second part of the form where they input just a couple more details.Ideally what I want to happen is this:If the user completes the first step but upon moving to the second step decides not to complete it because of time it would take to fill out, I still would like the info that he submitted in the first step to be submitted to airtable. Is it possible to do this? 

Hi,I am having an issue using automations and having a message sent in Slack as the final step. I have a formula that looks to an estimate and creates a budget off of that number. I then want to take the data from that field and enter it into a slack message. The problem I am having is the number I am using from the field ( as an example) is 75.6. It is being output from the Slack automtion as 75.61953142857142. No matter how it gets formatted in the formula cell (i.e. with no decimal points, ROUND formulas, etc. the long number always gets output from the Slack message. Is this an inherent flaw in the automations or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any help in advance. 

I’m an airtable newbie. I’m building a base for planning production (live events) for the AV company I work for. One of the things I need to track is our pre show, show, and post show milestones in the planning process. The time frame is based on when we are loading in gear for the event. I need to make an automation that will take the load-in date and subtract 30 days for pre-show items, stay the same date for show items, and add 14 days for post show items. I have the pre, show, and post as a single select. Any and all help would be appreciated 

I'm using the Outlook automation "When a new email is received" for the first time. However, it's not allowing me to pull the Sender. The Sender is grayed out (see image), and when I hover over it, it says, "No valid nested options."Has anyone seen this before? Do you have any idea how to fix it so it will pull the Sender into the newly created record?

 We are not using Comments and instead developed a separate “Updates” for team members to make updates to projects. We want the ability for users to “tag people” but looking for a way for those people to get an email or Slack notification. Any thoughts how to do this?

How can a newb find his webhook url so i can have vapi communicate with airtable -   i have this set up in another account and copying all to a new client account - and i can not rember how I got the url to add to vapi?  halp if you can

Hi,In my Airtable, I have a simple Work Order app, connected to Softr.My tables are: Owners, Units, Work Orders. All 3 tables are linked.I would like to automate (autofill?)  “Owner’s Name Surname” in Work Orders  tableWhen a user chooses an Unit (like in WO 6),  Owner’s Name Surname  should be automatically filled (in WO 6 -  “John Doe”).(I can rearrange  Owners  table, and make   Owner’s email   as primary field, if that will help)I have tried different Automations, but I couldn’t make it. Thank you very much. 

I just tried out automating sending some emails with Airtable. Is there a way to remove the Airtable branding? The „via Airtable“ in the from field, as well as the „Sent via Automations on Airtable“ at the bottom? Thanks!

Hi,I have a content management system in Airtable where I could use some automation support. I am attempting to use the new Airtable AI, but it just won't work the way I want it. What I want to do is:Request a new record (requests new content using a form) to be created, it currently creates a Google Doc with the record details on it and changes the status to "assign to writer"I want to have it where if I assign the writer as "AI" it submits the record details to AI (with a detailed prompt I created).Writes the content and places that content on the Google Doc.I have it producing the AI generated content within Airtable using the prompt but can't get it to add that content to the Google Doc and update the database field to "For Review". Hey all, this is my first post, so I hope I do this right! I have created an automation that, when a field box is ticked, a series of Find Records run. Each Find Record action gathers a list of records (people) that meet certain conditions. This is followed by an Update Record, that adds the linked records to a single field. The Update Record step looks like this: Find Record 1 record ID, Find Record 2 record ID, Find Record 3 record ID. This works perfectly unless one of the Find Records comes back empty, in which case the whole automation fails. Two the Find Records often come back empty, so this is a problem. I’ve played around with conditional actions, which is messy but it kind of works until a conditional action has an empty Find Record, where the automation stops and doesn’t move down to the next condition(s). Can anyone think of a workaround? Thanks in advance!

I’m not even sure the correct terminology so having difficulty looking it up.  I am creating a form with timeslots.  I need people to fill out the form and select a timeslot, but once someone has selected one, that timeslot shouldn’t be able to be selected by someone else.  Is this even possible?

I see several posts that are similar to my question, but I haven't been able to find the actual solution yet.  I have a database of all our locations, and at any given time we have about 40 pending locations. I'd like to send an automated email to the listed manager each month asking for an update until the status is changed from pending to open.  Some managers have multiple pending locations at one time so I'd like to only send one email per manager rather than multiple if there are several pending in their area. There's probably a few ways to do this, but for now I have a rollup column on a different table that breaks down by district all the pending locations.Any thoughts?

Current Issue:By default, Airtable automations trigger every time a defined condition is met, such as when a field is updated. However, in cases where changes happen in quick succession, the automation may run multiple times unnecessarily. This leads to inefficiencies and potential inconsistencies in workflow execution. Objective:I want to configure an Airtable automation that runs only after a certain period of time has passed since the last change, rather than triggering immediately with every update. This delay would allow for multiple consecutive changes to "settle" before the automation executes, preventing unnecessary or redundant triggers. 

I have a date field that I am wanting to use to send a slack notification when it is updated and/or changed, however while doing planning I am amending that date field multiple times to settle on the final agreed date - is there a way in which that slack notification can only be triggered once the date is settled and planning has been completed?
