I am NOT a coder... but this process is slowly making me one (sometimes to my regret).I am trying to put together a script triggered by a change in a field titled "Invoicing?" on a table named "ALL INVOICES 2024" that will update a different table titled "Client Overview" by adding "Offboard/Last Inv" to a field named "Active/Inactive." These two tables are NOT linked to each other and I don't want them to be, but they do have one field that is identical between the two of them: "Client ID."After banging my head against a wall for about two days, I decided to just backtrack to the most basic tutorial to see how I might put this together. My first task to "learn" is how to make Airtable identify the record that triggered the script to run. I stripped down to the easiest of tasks: Output the Record ID of the table that caused the trigger. Hello, let me first give a little backstory on the process I have leading up to where I need help...I have two tables (Table1 and Table2). There is a button on Table1 that triggers a script. The script copies a few fields from Table1 over to Table2, one of which is an alphanumeric code. While copying this alphanumeric code over to Table2, it also performs a check to see how many times this code already exists in Table2, and populates that number into a field. Table2 contains a complex formula that uses the existing alphanumeric code and the number of times that code has been seen before, to generate a new unique alphanumeric code. All of this works flawlessly, I'm just struggling to figure out how to execute the last step... copying this new unique alphanumeric code back to a field on Table1.First attempt at a solve, I setup a new automation that watches for new records entering a view on Table2. I’m trying to create an automation to take data from one cell in a record and paste it into another, linked, cell in that record. I set it up to trigger if “PART NAME” is not empty and “PARTS” is empty. Then it is supposed to take the value from “PART NAME” and update “PARTS”. When I run a test it does find a record to update but when I turn the automation on nothing happens. Any idea where I’m going wrong?

i have a automation that builds out new records, and depending on the project being created in Table A it connects to different linked records on other tables, for ex Table B and Table C. Table B uses a text field as primary field, so anytime i am connecting to this table with Update Record, it easily links to existing or creates new.however Table C uses a a formula as a primary field. When i use the update record it is not connecting due to computed field. i dont want to create new records, i just want to connect to existing. I have a formula on my recoird creation that determines the correct linked record, and it does exist, but it still fails.

Hello, I am using a form to register event attendees. This form sits within a table called "Event". However, the registrants are records in different tables. I want the completed form to trigger a contact on a different table (within the same base), to update a field marking "registered to attend event". Is this possible?Attached is the automation I have set up, and when I tested the automation with test data it worked. The field in the other table was updated. However, over night, I received lots of error messages. I wonder if it is because I used the record " When a record matches condition", and therefore it is continuously running? The error was occurring at "update record" and was saying "Received invalid inputs". Sometimes it was working. Sometimes it was not. Would anyone be able to help please?

Here is what I have managed so far:• In the first table, when I confirm that the record is eligible through a single-select option, I have been able to:1. Copy it to a second table dedicated to Marketing.2. Copy it to a third table dedicated to the Backend.What I am unable to do is:1. When I activate a trigger in the Marketing table, I would like the record to update in the Backend table as well.I have tried both reproducing the tables manually and individually copying the columns and using the "link to another record" function with tables in lookup.The error I encounter is that sometimes it doesn't find the record, and other times it indicates that the input entered is not feasible.In the end, it just needs to update a single-select field, nothing complicated. 🥹  

Hello friendsI have a script, that makes queries and record update,  after that I have Google Calendar Sync, Calendar Dates are dependent on Script results. I tried await keyword in front of record update statement and the timeout end of the script, but Calendar Sync executes before the script ends, how i can solve this problem, any ideas?

Hello,I need help setting up an automation that links records in a "dependencies" field to a predecessor/successor record (determined by order number). The goal is to automate tasks to hit contributors dashboard when its their turn to work on the project. We have a Projects, Tasks, Content Type and Templated Steps boards that ive set an extension to generate a specific task list based on the type of content. I can edit the extension code to include the dependencies field and set those are part of the template, but the problem is that many project managers use this as a starting point and edit the task list manually, adding or subtracting tasks for their specific need. If a project manager edits the task list, they have to manually manipulate the dependencies field using the gantt view, which is cumbersome and manual. id like to set a way for the field to automatically update based on the task order. So the trigger I have in place is "when record is updated"- on the task board, so

Good afternoon,I am attempting to create an automation that sends an email to my team with details about some work items.We use an Interface view to organize those records, and I need to generate links to each record so that when a team member clicks it, it opens in the Interface view, not in the Data view. The default is a view that doesn't show all the data we need (instead of the view from which the automated email came from), which is annoying in the first place. I'm trying to solve that via the interface. I know how to generate a link to a record in the Data view, by just using the record ID. Hello - full disclosure, I've only just started to get into scripting in Airtable, so bare with me as I'm still learning!My actual goal with this script is actually quite complex, I'm probably only about half way through. I'm trying to sync an excel online file (that's a .url file) to airtable and airtable won't recognize it. Can anyone help? If this doesn't work I'll have to figure out how to go map fields from oracle to airtable but would be far easier to just use the excel online file that is already mapped correctly and pull that into airtable and have it automatically update from there. There's no editing we'll need to do from airtable to excel online, just one way sync to airtable. Thanks for your help!

I use Airtable for timesheet purposes.  The employee completes a form in Airtable, and then that causes a row to be created in my Timesheets table.  Then the payroll staff go in and click an "Update Row" button on the row to enter the date paid. My primary field was a concatenated field of Last Name, First Name, Date Worked when I realized that a person can have 2 rows for the same date which apparently broke my automation.  I have been researching this all day and I do not know how to fix it.  Someone pretty please help! Updates 'Created By' as 'Automations'.I want the script to even update another field say 'User' with the user object (of the person who actually clicked the button).Is there a way to input the actual user object using automation script?I saw that I am able to get 'email id' , 'id' - which is usrXXXXXXXXXX and name. However what I actually want in the field is the complete user object which is similar to how 'Created By' and 'Modified By' fields look. Hello everyone, I am having some issues working on a script that I made using Copilot. Here's the reason why I am making it: I have a base which is composed of two tables: Table A and B. I am doing this because, in my company, we review conversations from customer service in order to improve it. Basically, Table A is composed of a form, and we get to see the results to the different questions and one big score (which is a formula field). I made Table B, so a second team can work on conversations which have a QA Score below 80. To do this, I need to create an automation which is composed of 3 steps: 1. When a record is updated in Table A (the QA score appears after grading the conversation)2. Create a record in Table B and add some information: customer's name and Table A QA Score (it's a number field now)3. Since any record will be added to Table B, I made a script to delete any records with a QA Score above 80. This is where I run in some issues

Hello! I am running into an issue automating an email notification when the date column is changed from one date to another. I have the automation set up so that when the date column is changed and the status is 'Sent', the email is triggered. The issue is that the email is getting sent every time the date is changed (including when the date is entered initially).The only workaround I've figured out so far is to set it up so that the record must match Status = Sent and Date is changed and we enter the date column second, but that leaves room for user error. Is there a way to ensure that that the email is sent only when the date column is updated from not empty?

Hi!I have the tables "units" "location," and "event."Events have a lookup field to location, and a location has multiple units. What I want to acheive is to create an automation so that when a record is created in event, a new event for evry unit in that location.I started, but seem to be stuck onTo give an example:Units are lightbulbs, locations are buildings and events are service missions. A user can change one or all lightbulbs in a location via a form as part of a service misson. If the user changes all lightbulbs in a location I want to create a new record for each of the lightbulbs in that location.The point is that it's important to track when the lightbulb last had maintenance.

Should there be a few second pause between multiple triggers? I have 100 records. Every record has a checkbox for approving. Once I check the checkbox an email automation runs. I have an habit of approving multiple records at the same time. Because of that I am not receiving the email. How much pause should be there between 2 triggers in different records?

Hi there, I have a database of social media campaigns with start dates and end dates. I’d like to have both dates add a year when the end date is older than yesterday (so once the campaign ends, it’s automatically set up to happen next year). Ideally, I’d like it to happen once per month, but it can be any trigger. I should add that I’m on the free tier of Airtable I’ve tried a few things, but I can’t seem to get the formula DATEADD({Start Date}, 1, 'years') to work with the automation. Any suggestions?

Hello,I am creating a base for performance reviews. Individuals receive Case Review scores (based on a form submission) in one table and then those scores are tabulated in a second Cumulative Scores table. My tables are linked. When I initially created my rollup fields in the Cumulative Scores table, I was able to pull the info from the Case Reviews table and populate my rollup without issue. Now when new forms are submitted, those rollup fields are not updating. I have tried adding lookup fields and automations, but I can't see to get it functioning. Can anybody help me resolve this issue?         

Hello, I have a 'Client' table linking to another table that holds information about Event Labor. From the Event Labor table, I am trying to send an automated email to the client (email address linked from its own table.) When creating the action, the 'Email (from Client table)' is an option, and then I have the choice Linked Record ID or Value. I assumed to use Value but neither choice is working.
