I have a problem using Automation to create a link between records in two tables.I have Table A and Table B.  Table A has a link field (’Link-A-B’) to Table B.  Table A also has a Form to create a new record in its table.  The form requires user to choose an entry into the Link-A-B field.  If the user selects a particular choice for the value, then the Form exposes another field in A (‘New Option’) that the user is required to type a value into.  Upon submission of the Form in this case—with a non-empty value in the’ New Option’ field—  an automation is triggered to create a new record in table B, and to enter the value of ‘New Option’ in A into the primary field in the new record in B. All the above I have working just fine in my Automation so far.  But the next action that I want to subsequently have happen in my automation is to change the link value in the Link-A-B field in the new A record: From what the Form user had selected, To a link to

Hi, I have a list of people with different positions and locations. I would like to create groups of these records like: * All the people who work in Sales * All the people who are located in EuropeAnd I can give it different parameters and it will sort by the different groups. >> I don't want to create all the groups beforehand. Meaning, I don't want to give it a defined list in case there are job titles or cities that aren't in my list. << Can anyone suggest an automation tool to do this? 

I have one table "Companies" it is related to "Campaigns". When I send a Campaign to a Company I want to batch or else automatically link the Campaign to the company.I see that linked records are not part of the batch Update extension. Example:I create a view of Companies that's 100 records.I have a Campaign that's "Direct Mail Piece 1"I export that list and send mail to those companiesI want to show link these 100 Companies to the Direct Mail Piece 1 Campaign so I know which companies have received which marketing.How can I accomplish this?Thanks!

I have an automation that will email a specific person when a record enters a view. The view is looking for a status change. Once the status has been changed a field is populated with the user that changed the status. As part of my automation, I’d like the person who changed the status to be CC’d on the email that will be sent. How do I get the email of the AirTable user to auto-populate into an email field?

I am trying to delete some records from a child table when the parent record is removed. To do so, I have created a view on the child table showing records where the parent link field is empty. On my automation, the trigger is set to be when a record enters that view, the automation fires.  The automation is firing but I get an unexpected permission related error I have not seen before. I am the workspace owner. I can manually delete rows in the UI. This seems simple....what am I doing wrong? Is it possible to get the previous value of a field to compare to when you have an automation trigger because of an update? I am thinking the only way to do this is to hold the old value in a hidden field and then update the hidden field after you take care of whatever you needed to take care of. I think the only issue is a person can make multiple updates to a field before you ever finish the automation so your previous value will be out of date if an update occurs before your first script finishes.

I am trying to automate my airtable to send an email to me and my coworkers anytime someone updates or changes data in any part of the table. However, I want the email to specify what columns or what parts of the table were changed. Is this possible?

Hi All, I'm putting a Zap together and linking our recruitment ATS with Airtable. I'm adding job adverts that come from our ATS in to Airtable first, and then I can send to another platform via the Zap. I've run in to an issue that I hope Airtable will solve. Our ATS sends job adverts to 3 job boards, so when it comes from the ATS to Airtable, it enters the job advert record 3 times. So it's duplicated twice. Unfortunately the ATS record has a data field that has all 3 job board ID's together so I can't filter the record by just one job board.Is there a way I can mark the duplicates with a true/false or checkbox field using some form of automation? I can then filter them out in another view and use the view to pass on the information to another platform from Airtable via the Zap without any duplicates. I hope that makes sense! Any help would be much appreciated. 

I have an automation - on form submission I receive an email.One of the fields in this form is an attachment.  My automation works fine - I receive an email when someone fills out the form, but I am not to access the attachment of the form. It shows access denied

Hello,I am trying to figure out how to insert an image to Gmail: Send email automation.Image is stored in the attachment field and needs to be inserted into email text as an image, not as the URL.While it is easily done for images stored publicly (not inside Airtable) by using the format <img src="https://.......">, I can not understand from the Airtable Help articles how to do the same with the image stored in the Airtable field.Thank you in advance for any hint or advise.

Context Unable to create an automation in Airtable. The path is as follows: An update in the "Sleep" field of Table1 triggers a search for records in Table2 that share a common field (using the "Name" field as the link). The automation then uses a script to update the corresponding records in Table2 with the updated "Sleep" content from Table1 into the Table2 fields, that have the same name, "NewSleep."Automation Path Image Below:My script is producing an error "'recordtoUpdate' is declared but its value is never read.(6133)." Hi there! I have a question about AirTable automations and photos. For our company, our team members fill out a form through AirTable every time they complete a job. There is an automation set up where the answers to the form are emailed to 2 email addresses - the team member who filled out the form, and then a company admin email account. One of the fields in the form is to upload a photo of the job. For a while, the photos were sent as attachments to the email, but that no longer works. Is there any way to either attach or include the photos that are uploaded to the form in the email that is automatically sent with the form answers? I have not been able to figure out a way yet! Thank you!!

GG ☀️New to the community and to Airtable automations After hitting a brick wall all morning - linking the records of '⭐️ Associates'  and '🤝 Clients'  so they update each other when 'Associate' and 'Client' are added to the same row of a field in 'Project ▸ TRACKING' - I now realise I have a new issue, automatically deleting records!i.e. when I delete Client X from Helen the fields remain linked.The current automationwhen Associate, and Client are not emptyupdate Associate table ⬇️   note: to make Record ID be valid I had to select Associate/Edit Token/and select ID 🤷‍♂Now, how do I go about reversing the process? I have two Date fields. I need a third field that simply displays the date in the first field unless it's blank, then displays the date in the second field. Here is the formula I'm using: IF({Dev End} = '', {Deadline}, {Dev End}) The formatting options for both Date fields and the Formula field are the same:I'm having two problems. First, the output date in this new Formula field is coming back one day before where it should be. I assume I could just add a day to the result within the formula, but I'm not sure why this happens in the first place. I suspect they have to do with the Time Zone. If I display the time zone, I see GMT, but I can't seem to select my time zone (EDT) unless I also display the time. I'm not interested in the time.The second problem is that I'm not able to use the Formula field as the end date in a Gantt view. Sorry if something similar has been posted already - I'm hoping to figure out an automation where when a record on one lable is labled (via checked checkbox) as a primary contact, that record links to the "primary contact" linked record field on a different table. In a perfect world, this could coincide with an automation where if the primary contact changes (a record is unchecked), that record is unlinked, and replaced with the new record.Or - is this possible to do with conditional formatting at all? This is for exports from a donor database. I have two columns Credit & Debit. Credit is for the donation amount and Debit is for the CC processing fee amount. Debit is a calculated column based on a formula. Each "Donation" (Record) has both credit and debits but I would like to have a separate record for each of them.I.e. 1 Record for John has his donation amount as well as the other misc. columns and 1 Record for his CC fee.I only know the term in PowerBi of unpivoting columns to achieve this. Is there a way to do this in Airtable?

Hey guys, super new to airtable and JS, still trying to figure out how i can embed my script in this first post of mine.I wrote a script that finds the largest number in a field, increments it by one and does some other formatting stuff (add a 'Q-' +(last two digits of the current year)+(current quote #))) then puts it in that same field for the record that triggered the automation. It sorts all records in Ref Max No(formula field to extrapolate a number from our quotes. Hi guys!Im trying to create an automation that changes a single select field from one option to another. I have a record of a tour which has a start date. I would like to change the field of "Week" to "Last Week" if the start date is before today but not before 1 week ago. It is my understanding that I first have to 'Find Records' before, and then use those records in the Record ID field of the configuration, but it still isnt working! Can anyone help me understand what the issue is? Thank you
