Hi all, I’m having a hard time finding an answer to something that seems like it should be easy, but I can’t quite figure it out and other examples don’t fit my use case very nicely. I tried making sense of dynamic filters, but it wasn’t doing what I needed it to. I’m working on an advertising sheet across multiple vendors, categories, months, and stores. In essence, we have one tab in our sheet where all of our bills get dumped. It has the vendor name, amount, and single-selects for month, store code, and category. I’m creating a linked database that creates a pivot table of all of the vendors as the rows and columns for each month of the year, using rollups to calculate how much we spent with each vendor each month. Sounds simple. However, I’m running into issues with trying to filter the table by store. Many stores utilize the same vendors, so when I try to filter by store code, it’s totaling all of the bills per month for each vend

spreadsheets Hi, I’m trying to recreate the structure of the attached spreadsheet in Airtable, but I'm running into trouble because each checklist item needs a different field type. I'm a PM, and I'm building a checklist that I want to go through once per project. Each checklist item requires a different field type. After discussing with ChatGPT, I was told that if there are 10 field types, I should create 10 separate fields and input each item only into its corresponding field type. But this checklist isn't just for me — about 20 team members will need to fill it out frequently. If it's structured this way, it becomes very inconvenient for everyone to use. What would be the best way to structure this kind of checklist in Airtable?

I have a single select field with options A, B, C. How can I limit a user’s ability to select an option twice? Once an option is selected they should not be able to select the same option again. 

rtf text fields are very limiting because there is no ability to add tables and advanced formatting such as callouts, toggles, dividers or images/videos.It would be extremely useful to have a few more elements in a similar way to Notion.Do you know if there is a plugin/addon to achieve something similar and make a more functional built-in editor?

Hey there, I am wondering if anyone knows how to use Fillout to generate unique forms for people in the airtable database. The idea is this: let’s say on some column in Airtable, Bob is only eligible for groups 2, 4 and Adam is eligible for groups 1 and 3, is there a way for Fillout to read this information on airtable and then create a personalised URL that gives Bob a form asking him to pick only between groups 2 and 4, and similarly with Adam? And can it do so while having a ‘live-booking’ functionality - so within Airtable, we have a Groups table that displays the remaining seats, so if group 2 currents sits at 0 remaining spaces, Bob will only have a form that asks him to pick group 4 (not a great example but hope you see what I mean).I would really appreciate any insight into this :)

I run a nonprofit that runs mentoring programs. I have a table that has a unique ID per mentor/mentee (a list of letters and numbers). That is the primary field. Their names are then in another field. There are about 72 people engaged in the program.I want them to be able to fill out a form for their mentoring activities/hours per month. I’ve created a new table, where the primary field is autogenerated. I’ve created the form, but I’d like for them to be able to choose their name from a list on the form so that it connects automatically to the main table and shows how many hours, meetings, etc for each person.Unfortunately I can only add the ID linked record for them to choose from, which is an internal number that they don’t know. Any creative thoughts on how I can get them to choose their name and have it still link/connect?

Hey experts, I’m a beginner of Airtable and I’m setting up the bases & interfaces to present my team’s resource allocation plan.I have set up two bases: Task & Timeoff. And I have created an “Utilization Interface” as shown in the below screenshot.I’m wondering if there’s a way to show the timeoffs in this interface as well? If so, should I merge the two bases (task & timeline) together? Or if there’s any other best practices that I can keep these two bases separated but still show both the task and timeoff in the same utilization view?Thank  you so much for your guidance!!

Hello all:I have a table that stores our department's class offerings schedule. The important fields are:Lecturer's name Course number  Day of the week (Multiple select - as there can be multiple days the class is offered)  Start time of the class (the date does not really matter here; We only care about a typical week) Duration of class (in minutes) - helps to compute the end time of the sessions. I would like to generate a view that shows us the Weekly Schedule that is “date Agnostic” for an entire semester. The columns will be the weekdays, and the rows will be the time frames of each day (running from 7am to 9pm). I would like the classes to be filled into a “calendar-like” view based on their time and day of offering. This will aggregate across all classes, and i would also like to apply filters to it. We achieved it in Tableau, but it would be nice to have it in Airtable, where all our data are typicall

I’m very new to Airtable, here’s what I’m trying to achieve. I have a table named Inventory: Name, Category, Price.A table named Project: Address, inspection date, images, Reno Estimate. Ideal process: From the Project I want to select items (30-50 items) (ideally a multiplier field. eg: 1x, 2x etc) from the Inventory list. (Or even just a checkbox) So for the Project I’ve selected what Inventory items I’ll need and the total of their cost.Hope that makes sense.

Hi All, Our team is having trouble with the cells running into the other pages when printed. This doesn’t affect everyone, just some people which makes me think it might be a setting issues. Any thoughts?“So the problem of the grid lines not closing between pages is still there, but it looks less messy than having long columns of text and pics in the body of the report. I tried using the Page Designer Extension or an outside program as suggested by others, but they require you to basically restart the whole template.”

For the love of all that is holy, WHY!?In this most recent UI update, Airtable seems to have randomly increased the margin width on the Interface side pages, messing up many of my pages and making it much harder to fit three elements per line in many circumstances.Example 1:The lines in each section of this page used to fit the width exactly.Example 2:The Action Menu dropdown was to the right of the Status field. Now it is pushed to another line.It is no longer possible to have a section division, and fit three total elements abreast. I hope to god this is a bug and not an intentional choice.

Is it just me, or is anyone else seriously frustrated by Airtable’s recent UI update that removed base color customization?I used to rely on those colors to quickly distinguish between different bases — especially when juggling multiple tabs (client work, internal projects, staging vs. production, etc.). It was such a simple but powerful way to reduce mistakes and navigate faster. Now that everything looks the same, it’s way easier to click into the wrong base or waste time scanning titles.For a platform that prides itself on organization and efficiency, this feels like a strange step backwards. Color coding was more than just a cosmetic feature — it added real clarity and boosted productivity.Anyone else feeling this pain? Has anyone found a good workaround? Just me?Would love to know your thoughts — maybe if enough of us speak up, they’ll reconsider bringing it back!

Hi there,  I run an auto detailing business by myself and I am trying to create a booking system so my customers can automatically book a detail without having to message me. I have three different locations that I operate out of, and I would like for them to be able to choose the location and time.  Here is the tricky part.. I cant be double booked, so I need to find a way to limit this..  Any help is appreciated I currently have two tables set up, Appointments and services. All fairly basic stuff. Thanks

I am looking to create a database that is similar in structure and function to the “Brand and compliance checker” demo in Airtable’s AI Playbook (https://www.airtable.com/ai-playbook/brand-and-compliance-checker)Instead of brand guidelines, I am using different scenarios and their criteria to analyze real estate records. I have 2 tables. One is the property data (similar to the “Product Shots” table in the video) and one is the scenario/criteria table (similar to the “Brand Guidelines” table). In the properties table, I have a single column for each scenario (similar to the “Brand Check” fields in the demo) that the AI will resolve to either “Yes” or “No” depending if the record matches the criteria. I would like to know the best and most straightforward way to link the tables or instruct OMNI to reference the specific criteria i

I am a photographer and cinematographer. As such, I have innumerable external drives with images and clips on them. Each drive has a top level file ‘listing.txt’ that has the entire folder structure, down to each filename. This can have tens of thousands of lines. I want to create a base that lists all of my drives and has ‘listing.txt’ as an attachment. Easy.  BUT!!! I want to make the base searchable, so if I type in ‘badger’, the base will return the drives that have a file or folder that contains the word badger. Can I make the listing.txt file searchable? Or, do I need to break it up into 100000 character chunks and have numerous long text fields. (I have tried unsuccessfully to do this - but I don’t really know what I am doing!).  Insights welcomed, and thanks in anticipation,Roy Dunn

On my form, I have a couple of questions linked to a single select field.  It's automatically naming the button and I don't know how to edit that.  Instead of Add record or Add show, I just want to change it to Add Committee Preference.

Hi all, this might sound trivial but we are having an issue with Airtable opening on an old base instead of our newest one.  The old base is called Jan 2025 and the newest one, which we are working from, is June 2025. Previously, whichever base we closed the app, logged out or closed the browser on, was the same base Airtable opened on next time.Since creating the June 2025 base, Airtable always opens on the old Jan 2025 base. It’s happening for each user who logs in so it’s a universal thing. We’ve deleted the cookies, logged out properly, logged in again but no joy.I’ve tried searching but can’t find an answer. Any ideas please anyone?

I have been looking everywhere for this answer and I swear I have watched 100 Youtube videos to no avail. Hoping someone on here can help me :)I currently have a “projects” table and a “tasks” table in my base. The projects table is configured so when I add a task to that project it adds it in the tasks table to be tracked. However, if I add that same task to multiple projects it tracks it in the tasks table as one record. Therefore, I can’t individually track the same tasks for several projects. Basically, I want to select the same tasks for several projects and then track those tasks separately. Example:Project A tasks:-solicit bids (complete)-draft contract (in process)-hire sub (on hold)Project B tasks: -solicit bids (in process)-draft contract (on hold)-hire sub (on hold) Thank you so much in advance!! I am perplexed by the labeling in Airtable Calendars.  In the attached screen grab, I have two projects in a single calendar, separated by color.  Great. However, it does not show the label of the fields I have associated with dates, even though it seems like there is ample room. So great, let me enable the labels I want.  Except it doesn’t show the labels, it shows the date, but instead of just including the date on the specific entry, it puts it on ALL entries.  Very perplexing.  Why would I want to show the date of one entry on a completely different entry that falls on a different date? This makes no sense and can not imagine a case where this would be useful.  Why won’t just show me the label that is already there on a specific date? Is there away to show the whole label on a given entry? In both the Interface and Calendar view I see this and can see know way to show the entire label.

Hello all,So I have been uploading attachments to a field through a google share link and have made sure to make the file and folder public but for some reason when i click on the attachment it just comes up as a blank screen and says loading but never loads. The share link is fine as when I put it in the url bar it works perfectly. Im unsure what is causing this??

Hi everyone, I’m setting up a project management base with dependencies between tasks. I have two questions: In some cases, task 2 can begin before task 1 ends, but the completion of task 2 does depend on the completion of task 1. There will simply be some overlap in when both start (e.g. parts of task 2 can be started before task 1 begin, however until task 1 is completed, task 2 cannot be fully done). I have set up the dependency as Task 1 → depends on → task 2. However, this then shows up as an error: Task 1 begins before Task 2 ends. Is there a way around this? What happens when you have some dependencies in the same table that are predecessors and some that are successors? Thanks a lot in advance!
