Hi! Scope: New Hire Form Add New Hire DetailsUpdate New Hire DetailsDescription:Want to create a new hire form where new hires are able to fill out their details, and a copy of the form can be sent to them. The form should have an editable link (similar to Google Form edit response function), so that they are able to modify different parts of the fields.I've only seen prefill forms in usage of simple database, or for reservation purposes, not so much as complex as an employee database where multiple fields can be modified. Thanks so much!
We've been relying on view naming conventions to monitor syncs, but is there is a reporting feature or another data-driven solution that lists all of the sync activity coming out of a base? - List of Views that are synced to another base.- List of Tables that contain a synced View.- List of external destination tables synced from a given source table. (this is currently possible for any single view through reviewing the sync settings, but looking for a consolidated view) The specific use case is consolidating bases that have been built by various users. One goal is to eliminate having multiple sync views coming out of one table, but also to develop a roadmap to optimize tables across all of the bases once we're in the same workspace.thanks!
Hi everyone,I’m exploring ways to use Airtable for managing and updating menu content. I run a site that lists different drink menus (https://brewmenuus.com/), and I’m curious if anyone here has tried structuring this type of data in Airtable. The challenge is keeping items organized with details like categories, nutrition info, and updates without it becoming messy. Do you suggest using linked tables, automations, or maybe a custom form setup for easier updates?Any suggestions or examples from your experience would be really helpful.
Hello, I apologize in advance, airtable is very new to me. I am coming from an MS Access world so trying to figure out the best approach to our setup. We currently have a spreadsheet with 10+ tabs. Basic information (Contact) on one tab then the other 10 tabs relate to this contact tab. Various relationships from Investment returns for various years and fees to budgeting. My thought is to create a base. A table for the Contact information. Then a table for each of the other (tabs). I know I can link them using the link feature. But I’m thinking forward to any reporting or interfaces that I build. To be able to report on the contact info from one table, the investment return from another and the budget from another how is this done?I’m used to using a primary key and joins in access to link these together. In airtable do I have to link every table to each other and then create a table pulling various links in? Seems like a crazy amount of work to join various tables together. Am I
Hi I’m having trouble figuring out how to properly set up a kanban. This is for contractor scheduling. I have the kaban connected to a table source called Repair Jobs. It’s then stacking fields by Assigned Contractor, with some visible fields, coloured and sorted by status. The purpose is to have an “empty” column where jobs can be dragged to contractor columns, and assigned to those contractors. I want to be able to have a drop down select for different days of the week, or a date picker. That way the admin can select “Monday”, see all the unassigned jobs, and fill up a contractors current day. In 80% of situations they would be looking at it in the context of “today”, but would also want to move forward in time to check future days. The problem with this one, is that if I use the drop down filters for “Monday”, not only is it not correctly filtering to Mondays but it makes all the columns disappear. I have “Hide empty stacks” deselected because we want all the stacks to remain visible
Hi All,I want to create a tennis league and publish it on my webstite which I created in Webflow. The database is to be dynamic, information will be added using a airtable form. There will be 16 players in the league and they will play each others. The goal is to get the current league table and ranking. On the page I want to display the results of all the players' matches (example - 6:2 3:6 7:5), the current position and the amount of points collected so far. Has anyone had a chance to do something similar? Thanks for any help and have a nice day 🙂
I have a form for my team that includes an attachment field for images. Every so often, someone uploads an unnecessarily large image and it triggers out-of-memory errors in my Pipedream workflows that run when the form is submitted. It would be wonderful if I could add limits to how big attachments can be. I see that this has been requested before and I’m assuming it’s still not possible, but if anyone has suggestions for how to deal with this issue, please let me know!
Hello AT community,I am seeking advice, general or specific, on achieving frictionless label printing for employees using our base. Our current setup is fully functional, but the process is clunky for users. We have Dymo LabelWriter 4XL's set up at various stations, and we have labels designed in Page Designer. Our receiving station, for example, has a Receiving Interface, and labels need to be created for everything we receive. To print a label, the user has to click a button in the grid element of the interface for the line just received, which redirects them to the record in the underlying base (already a bad situation), then click a button that takes them to page designer, then click 'print' 3 or 4 times to get a label to come out.My background is in warehouse distribution, where our purpose-built warehouse management software would simply print a label as soon as something is received, that is the level of functionality we want to mimic, or come close to.So we are looking at 3rd par
H! I’d like to use AirTable to help prioritize a set of ~50 project ideas, soliciting input from 10-15 stakeholders.I’d like to let users rank the projects in terms of Customer Value and Strategic Alignment (fit to our organization) using a simple semantic scale (very low, low, medium, high, very high).A very efficient way to do this is through Airtable’s Kanban views, where they can drag each idea into a column representing that attribute, going once through the list for Customer Value, and again for Strategic Alignment.I’ve looked at examples of how to do group voting in AirTable through the templates and discussions in this forum, but they all seem to suggest using forms to capture input, sometimes one candidate at a time. This would require voters to open and submit 50 different form submissions. Is there a way to provide each voter their own Kanban view of the projects that allow them to drag projects around and have those actions save out voter-specific Customer Value and Strategi
I am trying to figure out how to build a workflow that would allow multiple user to approve a creative asset before status changes to approved.Right now I'm using a user column to assign an approver. Then the record viewer interface to approve using a button tied to a status change automation. Ideally I would like to be able to assign multiple approvers and somehow only use the automation, once ALL approvers have approved. Thank you in advance
Bit of a messy title, I couldn’t think of a good way to phrase this question…I have a table that stores inventory items, each item can have one of three status’ “Available”, “Gifted” or “Sold”. I’m trying to create a view that only returns the name of an item where there are none with a status of Available. So for example the view shouldn’t return this item:But it should return this one Is this possible to achieve and if so, how?
Hello!I’m working on moving our team into an interface for a better UI experience (and for more control on what is seen and editable). We currently have our work split among two tables (actually there is also a need to connect a completely separate base, but one problem at a time). Is there a way for me to have dates from both tables in one single calendar view that I could have as an interface page? The tables have a parent (projects) and child (tasks) relationship where the tasks are linked to the project record. However, not every project has a connected task. Can I build this with lookup tables and formulas and automations?
Hi everyone, Table A is meant to be just an overview of the project. The start dates, deadline given, and date returned will be entered manually as they change often. Here is a screenshot of the relevant part of Table A.Table A Now I’m creating Table B. In Table B I want to keep track of how long it took the team to finish each phase and each stage. Here is a screenshot of what I have so far:You can see in Table B I will list each stage of a phase and I want to track the start and end dates for each stage. Ie it’s more detailed than Table A. I’m wondering if there is a way to capture the dates in Table A and put them in Table B. In Table A the “Phase” and “Stage” columns are Single or Multiple Select and will change as we progress through the phases. In Table B the “Phase” and “Stage” columns will not change because I want to capture the timeline for each stage in each phase. So I want “Real Start Date” in Table B to capture the “Start Date” in Table A if it matches the same Phase and
I've only been using Airtable for a short time, and coming from RDBMS, I admit I'm struggling a bit.Right now, I'd just like to get the equivalent of a “select distinct ... from...” and I can't seem to do it.I have a table with a column called category. How can I create a view containing one row per distinct category?I want to use it in n8n...Thank you for your help.
Hi all, I’m pretty new to both Airtable and Make, and I’m helping a friend in the construction business (mainly renovations), set up an Airtable system for his workflow. I’m stuck on the best way to create Quote Request records for subcontractors. Here’s the setup:Jobs table – All jobs for each project (linked to Projects table). Each Job is allocated a Trade (Electrics, Carpentry, Plumbing, etc.). After reviewing all Jobs for a project, my friend allocates specific Subcontractors (multi-select linked to Subcontractors table) who should receive quote requests. This is done by Trade. He has Subcontractors that could cover more than one Trade. He does not want to auto-allocate subcontractors by trade, as he may not ask all subcontractors in a trade to quote. However, not sure whether auto-allocating and then removing subcontractors not wanting to send quote requests to, may somehow be a better option - thinking about time consumption in deciding and allocating subcontractors in compari
Hii have a table with fields, where we can upload pictures. I need to make sure, that there is only one picture pe field alowed… how can i do this?At the mament its possible to upload more than on picture.ThxChristian
Hi all. I am pretty new to working with AirTable but have managed to figure out most of what I need to know thanks to the documentation and this community! I have one question by which I am flummoxed, however: linked record filtering. We have a base with a bunch of different tables in it, including one for Team Members and one for Tasks. In the Tasks table we have a field for Status, which is a single-select field with four options: Not Started, In Progress, Completed, and Deferred. Tasks also has a field that allows them to be linked to particular team members. In the Team Members table we have a field that pulls in all of the tasks associated with a team member. I’d like that field to be filtered by task status, so that only tasks that are not completed are shown. I’d think that turning on “Filter record selection by a condition” and using a static filter like this would work:Filter record selection by a condition, connected to task statusIt isn’t actually filtering, though; all tasks
I’ve spent weeks trying to understand how to properly manage linked record fields in my base, and I’m still stuck. No thanks to ChatGPT - total waste of time. I should have come here a lot earlier. Here’s what I’m struggling with: I have one main Entities table that contains artists, labels, distributors, producers, etc. In other tables (like Songs and Releases), I need to link to Entities in multiple ways (for example: Artist, Featured Artist, Label, Distributor, Producer). Every time I create a separate link field for each role (e.g., “Artist Name,” “Label”), Airtable automatically creates a new reciprocal field in Entities, which results in multiple “Songs” or “Releases” columns there. This clutters the Entities table and makes it impossible to keep clean. When I delete these extra reciprocal fields in Entities, it turns my original link fields in Songs or Releases into single line text, breaking everything. What I want to understand is: How can I set this up so I can have di
Hello! I’ve had this issue for some time now but finally have the time to sit down and really figure it out. Except I can’t figure it out. Base 1 has Table 1, which is synced to both Base 2 and 3. Base 2 and 3 are not allowed to create new records, I have to go back to Base 1 to add records in. Syncing is enabled for both (see below). I need to be able to edit Table 1 from all 3 bases and have the changes show up for each base. Base 1 settings: Base 2 settings (same as Base 3): Message when I try to add records to Base 2: I have a feeling I’m just not understanding some simple little thing about how AirTable’s synced tables work, advice anyone?
Hey there, please pass this to the support team - passing on feedback - the new look is driving me crazy, not being able to collapse/reduce the left hand nav is frustrating, it takes up 25% of my screen with information i reference infrequently compared with the data in the table. arrgggghhhhh! anyhoo, love airtable thanks and have a great week
TWO TABLES MTO AND CATALOGUE. MTO HAS MANY RECORDS - EACH HAS {XQTY} AGAINST A LOOKUP FIELD CALLED LINE_MATERIAL (WHICH IS LOOKING UP THE PRIME_ID ON CATALOGUE).THERE MAY BE 10 RECORDS ON MTO WITH DIFFERENT XQTY VALUES ALL FOR THE SAME LINE_MATERIAL.I WANT TO SUM THE XQTY - GROUPING BY LINE_MATERIAL - AND UPDATE THAT TOTAL TO THE MATCHING RECORD (LINE_MATERIAL = ID) ON THE CATALOGU TO DATAFIELD SUM_1.I HAVE TRIED JAVASCRIPT, AUTOMATION AND OMNI AND CLAUDE - AND SO FAR NOTHNG WORKS. USING JAVASCRIPT IS THE PREFERRED WAY LINKING TO AN ACTION BUTTON BUT THEN YOU HAVE TO ACCOUNT THAT THE VISIBLE VALUES IN AIRTABLE ARE NOT REALLY THERE BUT RECORD_ID IS….TRIED EVEN TO ACCOUNT FOR THAT BUT NOT MADE IT WORK EVERY TIME SO FAR !!!!THANKS FOR THE HELP GANG…...MIKE IN LONDON
I can’t figure out how to make links between two tables work the way I need them. Here’s the situation:Table 1 contains a list of Companies. These Companies are differentiated by Type (multiselect) and split into multiple views based on that: Producers view and Architects view.Table 2 contains a list of Projects. Each Project has a Project Owner field (link to Companies, single record) and Project Participants field (link to Companies, multiple records). So far so good. Back to Table 1, for each Company I need it to show the following fields:Projects (Participant) - Link to Projects and show all Projects where a Company is referenced as the Project Participant Projects (Own) - Link to Projects and show all Projects where a Company is referenced as the Project OwnerThis is where I get stuck: When creating a link to the Projects table (2) from the Companies Table (1), I’m only able to get the Projects (Particpant) field working, and have no way of differentiating the Project (Own) field f
Previous year i joined pro plan and connect my bank account. In June pro period ends iam going to stop pro plan. But i don’t know why it happens airtable automatically withdrawn my money.I lost 16,450 Ruppies ,I don’t want it please help me
Hello! I’m new to this community and hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I need to create a base that can match college students with alumni for 1-on-1 meetings, based on career interests. Each person will have up to 3 career interests, but meeting pairs only need to match on one of those interests. Each student must be matched with only 2 alums Each alum should not have more than 2 students (but can have fewer)I created a base with 3 tables - Students, Alums, Career Interests - and linked the Student table to the Alumni table so I can see all of the matching alums for each student. I just cannot figure out how to limit the matches to just 2 for each person. Is this possible in Airtable or do I have a lot of manual work ahead of me?Thank you for any help you can offer.
I've never been fussy about colors, but the new options for base themes are a big step backwards for me. The old bright, bold, cheery, energetic & fun colors that made the Airtable experience feel enjoyable and different from your average boring, serious database, have been replaced by: A) a dark, dreary version (my green base now looks exactly like Excel - uugh) or a mushy pastel version (were people asking for more 'washed out' low contrast header options?).The fun bright colors were part of Airtable's experience (and brand) for me. Is there a way to bring them back for my workspace?
