Airtable mobile Android app not letting me take picture and upload attachment on new Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. When I push the camera icon on a record nothing happens. It used to bring up my camera. I could then link that picture to the asset record. I inventory assets. I need this to work. I have also reinstalled the mobile android app 3 times and gone through permissions 3 times. Same thing every time, I push the camera button and nothing happens. The work around is to take a picture with my camera, then link the record. I don’t want to waste time on that work around. What am I missing here???

Ok, I am pretty sure I posted this before but let me try again to explain an issue I have that is impacting my web page. I created a gallery of News items with pictures. The Primary key in a date field Airtable defaults to sort oldest first I set sort to oldest last because when folks get to this table I want the newest items displayed first. All this works but here is the issue: 5. Each time I go to input a new record Airtable always starts at the bottom with the oldest posts and I have to scroll to the top to see latest posts. Not much of an issue because it is only me and the scrolling to get back to the top is not a big deal. 6. The issue is that on my WIX website the same happens to customers. It shows them the latest posts and to complicate the issue the scroll bar to the top is not very easy to find because there is a window scroll and a table scroll. I’ve found a few threads on (the lack of) bidirectional links and the use of junction tables, but I still can’t find the right answer for the following use case, which I’ll describe two ways. Example 1: I have a list of kids in a class, with the names in Column 1. I want to say that Abby is friends with Billy and Charlie (perhaps in Column 2), and want Billy’s row to automatically update to show that Billy is friends with Abby and Charlie (and have Charlie’s row to update showing he’s friends with Abby and Billy). As of now, I can create Column 2 to reference Column 1, but I have to manually ensure consistency of the relationship in each direction. Example 2: I am putting together competitive landscaping “clusters” to show orgs that are in competition with one another. For example, Apple competes with Google and Facebook. If the companies are all in Column A, I’d like to say Apple competes with Google and Facebook, then have it populate for the other two companies. Bonus ques

I am new to Airtable and this is what I am trying to create: I have a list of different projects that have 6 to-do’s (all the same to-do’s) that I need to keep track of as to when they get completed for those particular projects. I created two tables (Projects (table 1) and Tasks (table 2)). I figured out how to link to another record, but I can’t figure out how to add checkboxes to the list of to-do’s for each project so I can check them off as they get completed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’m trying to make a database of art competition entries. What i have so far is in the first table, the names being the shows, then having a linked table to the paintings. Then a column for dates. The only thing is, I’m trying to add a field for if each painting was accepted to each show. Up to 5 paintings can be entered into 1 show, and they can be entered into multiple shows. Each painting can have a different response (being accepted or denied), and the response for each show for each painting can be different. Does anyone have any ideas on how to set this up?

Hi, I am trying to prefill a linked field in a form but I don’t want the user to be able to modify it. I try to things: I hide the field using a never accomplish condition and using prefill_ on the iframe url but the field is not sent it to the table I remove the field from the form and try sent it via prefill_ on the iframe, but the same result. Today I logged in and my database was back to the way it was about 4 months ago. Many records and record changes were gone. I can’t figure out why this has happened. My only guess was it had something to do with clearing my browsers cache. However, I opened airtable in a different browser, and the lost changes were still lost there. I have a free account, so only 2 weeks of history from airtable, but when I went into history, it said there were no changes in the past two weeks and that the last sign in was like 6 months ago. That is definitely incorrect. Where has my data gone?

Hi, I’d like to use airtable for a Chat messaging app but when i see the pricing page and it says 5000 records per base i am wondering how to set up the base and tables to ensure i don’t go beyond the limit. As chat messaging between members will be very frequent it will keep adding the comments as rows. Is there any way to insert the new comments/chats in a more optimal way to ensure we don’t hit the limit soon? Any tutorial link for Chat/message oriented app? Anothr question i have is if we use a filter date (say records > 30 days), the filtered table shows lesser number of records. So, does Airtable treat the current records after the filter is applied or will it consider the unfiltered records?

I am very much a novice, so please forgive me if this is an obvious question. I am not even sure if I am asking the question in the right way. I have a product database that contains thousands of listings and about 50 columns of data per listing. Visualize that these products fall into a variety of different ‘brand names’ that are specified in a column. I want to use the Translate Block to translate some of my product descriptions into several different languages, but I don’t want to translate all of them. It seems like I would create a duplicate of my main base and somehow just include the brands that I want to translate into that base and then add the translate block to that base. Is that correct? The reasoning behind this is because the Google Translate API charges for translation based on character count and it could get very pricey for me to translate a lot of products to multiple languages if I do not need to. Any advice on how I should approach this and what the process might be

We have a database and a call center of everyone who wants to support people who need assistance during our protests in Belarus. Some people need medical or psychological assistance after the brutal police behavior during the protests, someone needs lawyer advice, some need financial support during strikes. The team is currently working on the website using Wordpress engine, but it takes ages to build quite a simple thing – a list of all providers with the ability to filter by a category, subcategory, and region. I keep an eye on Airtable and always wanted to try out this tool. Is it possible to duplicate a table and it’s views (in my case the form created from the table) into a separate base? I have an airtable base set up for the program I manage and one of the tabs is an application to our program. It took me quite a bit of time to set up the table and then the form, because it involves many conditional questions. My colleague has a seperate base for her program but would like to use the application I created. I tried to download the csv for my table and then have her import it into a new table in her base but all of the field customization I created did not carry over. Many of the fields were single/multi select (with many options) and when she imported the csv they all appear to be ‘single line text’ field types. Is there a different way to accomplish copying a table and it’s views from one base to another or is it just not possible yet in airtable?

Hello. I am trying to send out a survey and have the data (responses) input into a table. I created the table and thought I could share the form view to get data inputed into airtable, but now I am concerned that would make my data available for everyone I share the link with to see. How can I send out a survey just to collect data that only I can view? Thanks.

Form question: I’m trying to create a “Donation Report” form for a volunteer to complete when they’ve received a gift or pledge from someone for a charity. The donor is almost always going to have an existing record in the “Prospects” table; gifts are entered into the “Donations” table, which is where this form resides. The “Donor - linked” allows the volunteer to lookup people, but it shows only the unique Member ID - not names. Is there a way I can let the volunteer choose the donor from a list of names, instead? I don’t want the volunteer to enter a first and last name for donors because it would duplicate information that lives on their record in the Prospects table. Confusing, but … any thoughts?

I have an existing simple database that holds items collected to be used in a in person silent and live auction for a non profit fundraiser. As with everything else the fundraiser was canceled due to covid-19. We have numerous items in the database and I was thinking about a virtual auction. How and what do I need to do to add the ability for people to link to the database to look at and bid in the items as well as capturing the bidder information for payment? Can this be done? I developed a base that I think can be simplified, and would appreciate feedback on the set-up - and suggestions for how to improve it. I think I have unnecessary tables and manual tasks. Here is the basic info (I am new to this community so not sure what is helpful vs excessive) The base is to manage participants in a large community program. People signup on a rolling basis. We use the forms for this. Some of those people then join groups. They either tell us the group they want to be in when they sign up, or we decide later and assign them. They also either tell us the role they want - “group leader” or “group member” - or they say “IDK” and we fill that in later. Here’s where it gets funky: This program has multiple public events, so people wind up signing up more than once, not aware or caring that they already signed up a few months ago. I have a few columns in my base that are basically date fields that use a formula to automatically enter a date based on a previous column. I have a screenshot below. The example code is DATEADD({NoA Date},6,‘months’). This base tracks Appeal Cases for my law firm. Most things trickle off a previous column. When the NoA date has been set, the Perfection date is due 6 months later. What happens sometimes is the Perfection date would need to be changed because an extension was granted by the court. Once the column is set to a function, can I change manually change that date while leaving the NoA date alone? @ScottWorld Thank you very much for your time!

Hi everyone, I’m new to Airtable. I’m hoping I’m missing something really obvious here! When linking to a record in another table, AT gives you the option select multiple records. However, it doesn’t let you chose the same record twice. Why is this, and is there any easy way around it? For context, I’m trying to set up a base for a non-profit diaper bank. Diapers come in about 8 sizes. Sometimes, families have two or more children who wear the identical size of diaper (e.g. twins). Currently, the base will let me use a single field [“Diaper Bundles”] to indicate that a family received size 1 diapers and size 5 diapers, for example. But if I want to indicate that they received multiple qualities of size 1 diapers, as well as size 5 diapers, things get complicated in a hurry! Any suggestions here? I’d love some advice!
