Base Design

I have a multi-select field called “Trades”. A contact can do multiple “Trades”. I want to group by trades, but I don’t want the contacts with multiple trades grouped into their own unique multi-trade grouping, I want them to appear once in each trade grouping. Ex: list of trades is: demo, grading, hauloff. I want a contractor that does demo and hauloff to appear once under the demo grouping and also under hauloff, and I want the only groupings to be demo, grading, hauloff. I do NOT want a Grouping of demo & hauloff combined. How do I achieve this. It seems like it would be a frequent issue.

How can I configure the calendar or Gannt block to show each assigned team for a project if they share the same job#? Example: I need to allow each assigned team member to see their schedule - The calendar shows the record number which is only internally used and links the project under both - and the lack of information shown on the calendar doesn’t provide other users with any information on the project. The Gannt block shows pretty much the same thing in minimal information. Ideally - I’m looking for a way to have each user (4G and Apex) see more details such as:

Hi everyone! I work for a small nonprofit tool-lending library and makerspace in Baltimore, MD. We offer a service called Open Shop, which is a time for the community to come use our equipment and workspace for woodworking, home repair, metalworking, or crafting projects. Due to the pandemic, we’re moving to an appointment-based system for Open Shop and are trying to figure out how to best do that through Airtable. The biggest issue I’ve been struggling with is how to balance capacity limits and flexible scheduling. Ideally, we’d like people to book either 1-hour or 2-hour appointments that can start on the half-hour. We’d like the system to reserve a maximum of 4 overlapping appointments (aka people in the space) at any one time. For example, if there are 4 people with appointments from 5:00 pm to 6:00 and a fifth person tries to book from 5:30 to 6:30, the system should block that appointment because it would exceed the capacity limit of 4 people. Hi, i’m having an issue, i have a base with around 80 new lines, with a date and time. I tried to organise it manually by days and hours, but it seems that it gets messy all the time, maybe when i’m looking for an information using a filter. Is there a way to lock the place of each line based on the date ? Right now i have to sort it “1-9” in order to have then reorganized, but i don’t understand it doesn’t stay like i wanted it ordered… can you help me please ?

Hi friends I have a difficult problem on creating many to many database, As a event manager, I have (for example) 10 events a month (120 events a year) , so I create a table name: EVENTS Our company has about 200 freelance employees , and a part of them may join to organize our events , So I create a table name: EMPLOYEES In that case (many to many relation) I have to create a new table name: EVENT DETAILS And so, if 100 employee organize each event, so the table EVENT DETAILS may have 100*100 = 10.000 rows , and I think it is too many rows … And the other way, I may create a new table for each event include many field: employee, salary, vendor, client, … but in that case, I have to create 120 table a year … I think it’s not good idea … So, My question: is that right solution of that problem and can we have the better solution for that Thank you all in advance !

So I am trying to create a somewhat all encompassing purchasing, inventory, and installation/delivery base to track some material for a specific work scope on a construction site. Essentially we issue purchase orders that have various line items for materials on them (say 10" pipe, 12" valves, 6"x1/2" bolts, 1/2" nuts, etc etc) and they go out to lots of different vendors. I want to log in all the stuff we’ve bought and what vendor it’s from, the purchase or number, etc etc. Next, I want to log in what we have received into inventory. For example I may do a PO to a vendor and I request to purchase 100ea 6" bolts, 100ea 1/2" nuts, and 100ea 1/2" washers. This may not all come in the same shipment. I would like to log that I received 30 bolts, 50 nuts, and 50 washers on 7/31. Then I would log receiving another 30 bolts, 50 nuts, and 50 washers on 8/3, for example, then the balance of the 40 bolts remaining out of 100 on 8/15 (very basically example). The stuff coming in

I’m thinking about using Airtable for my business. But I’m not sure if it will work. I was hoping someone in the community can tell me whether what I’m trying to do is possible. I’m a life coach. I’ve accumulated a large library of information over the past few years. And I want to organize it. That way when I’m coaching people and I remember something I want to share, I can easily find it in Airtable. For example, let’s say there’s a meditation tip I’ve learned I’d like to be able to add the tip but also categorize it in some way to make it easy to find. And maybe even give it a star rating so when I pull up all meditation tips, by category (if that’s possible), I can see which ones are the most effective, based on the star rating. The second thing I want to do is create a CRM to keep track of my clients. I know I can do that. But what I don’t know is whether it’s possible to create meeting notes. I have a “Trade” field that I share between Contacts and companies. The issue I have is when a contact or company does multiple Trades ( ex- demolition and excavation ). I want to be able to use the same list of “Trades” on individual Bids they are submitting on each job, but I don’t know how to carry over just the appropriate Trade label for each bid. I was thinking us setting up a separate table of “Trades”, but not sure exactly how that would work either.

Hi! Is there a way to track completion of forms that are sent to a contact list in one of the tables? We want to send a form to everyone and then see who has or has not completed it yet. Furthermore, some people may need to complete the feedback form multiple times (about a different person/experience each time) so ideally we can see their completion status by the person/experience they are providing feedback on. Is it possible to change what is able to be viewed on a card as the card moves through different phases of the pipeline in Kan ban view? For example, if my stage is ‘Intake’ only a few fields are displayed, but when the card moves to ‘Due Diligence’ more fields are automatically displayed.

I’m setting up a dashboard for a travel agent with 5k+ carried out in 3 different currencies. The set-up I have right now works, but I’m wondering if anyone can suggest improvements or more enhanced approaches to this case. In the main table I’m extracting the ‘day’, ‘month’ and ‘year’ from the transaction date with formulas, then I get the user to link each ‘day’, ‘month’ and ‘year’ to the relevant Day, Month and Year tables where I can summarize the data accordingly. This is working fine but if you can think of a more elegant way to do it, I’d love to hear. The main issue I’m facing is that: I also need to convert transactions to a unique currency, so I prepared a different table with FX daily values - which I link to the main table (where all transactions are recorded) to pull the relevant exchange rate. Project Summary: We need a system of managing, requesting, and distributing resources to students for the 20-21 school year. We are starting by creating a “Drive-Thru Library” A book catalog will be created using QR codes taped to the back of each book- I am hoping to use airtable to start with this inventory. I need for families to be able to scroll through the catalog of available books created with the QR codes and easily make a request - is that possible through airtable? I currently work in an office setting where we have supplies in multiple locations throughout the building. I have built an excel database to manage it all and I have been trying to figure out if it’s something that I could do in Airtable instead. I watched various tutorials, how to’s, and looked through what information I could find and unfortunately none of seems to help me. I have 12 different locations in which various supplies are stored. People within the office have access to those locations and can take supplies to use whenever they need to. What I have to do once a week is go through and count what is at each location, and also add or remove items to the locations to redistribute the supplies as needed. What I need to have an ability to add the weekly counts of each item at each location, so that it updates a master list on-hand total which can be flagged so that when it reaches a certain amount the office manager knows to reorder it. Is it possible to display a different field than table’s primary field in the Calendar View?

Hello Everyone. I am new to Airtable and so far i’m loving it. I work at a law firm and we are creating a database that shows the settlement amount for cases for our attorneys as reference. I have 2 columns that I want to work in tandem. One column is designed Surgeries, for the amount of surgeries that person involved in the case had. The next column is Injuries. This shows which body parts were injured during the accident. I have color coded the Surgeries section. Let’s say if someone had 4 surgeries, that number would appear in orange. Can I then, in the following injuries column, have all 4 of the injuries appear in the same color to denote, each one of these body parts were surgically operated on? Also, if someone had 1 surgery but 3 body parts were injured, can I somehow color in just the body part that was operated on to match the color designed for 1 surgery? I have an attachments column in Table A with a bunch of photos for each record. Table B has records that link back to Table A – and actually there are probably 2 or 3 records on Table B linking back to each record on Table A. Is it possible to have a column in Table B that shows just selected attachments from the linked record’s attachments column in Table A? So, like, if on record in Table A has 10 photos in the Attachments column, then each record in Table B that links to that record could show one or two of those photos? Thanks for the help!
