Base Design

Hi, new to airtable. I have several databases related to various types of inventories. I just want a simple interface to be able to select, for instance, a product. Then have the database properites for that product presented so I can edit them. For instance, adjust quanties. From the little bit of googling I have done it doesn't seem possible with airtable's built in tools. 3rd party tool implentations seems like a house of cards. I have tried this in Notion and it quickly becomes too complicated to be reliable. Are there any other ideas out there? Thanks 

Hi all, I’ve been reading through a ton of different conversations about Airtable and recipe managers. and have found some amazing info on here. I’m currently a little blocked so maybe someone has more info on the following topic. Overall, I’m trying to create a database that has recipes where I can understand both the cost per recipe and the macronutrient breakdown for each recipe. Where I’m getting stuck is breaking down the nutritional values because some ingredients are in cups and others in tbsp. I’m trying to convert measures to grams but am having trouble connecting the conversion info to the recipe info. Hi,I am new to using Airtable, and I want to utilize multiple forms. The idea is to have a first form where, upon clicking a picture, it will transition to a second form, allowing the customer to input all the necessary information. Upon pressing a button on the second form, it should move to the third form, displaying quotations for the woods, including the pricing and quantity. These forms are intended for quotations of the product that the user can request.My question is: Is this functionality possible with Airtable? I am uncertain if a clickable image is feasible, so I need clarification on whether Airtable can support multiple forms, as described above.

Hey there, We are building a complicated form and we are wondering if it would be possible to break up the questionnaire into multiple pages so that we can offer the questions in smaller chunks? Do you have any insights into this?

Hi,As the subject line states, I am looking for a function within airtable forms that can allow me to change the available inputs based on the condition of a previous answer.The purpose of this, is to submit an attendance form of such.I am using a table consolidate all of the different departments as an individual record, and within that record, each employee is linked to their respective department.My intent is to use the form to submit a list of attendees, based on which department is involved.For example, I had a meeting today with Marketing, Finance, and Operations.On the form, there will be a linking field, where I input these three departments.Then I have an Attendee field, where I can link the individual attendees, based on the above selected departments.Is this possible? Is there a way around this?

Why do forms have to be only one column? I need to develop forms that are more complex than all the fields in one column. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to put the fields side by side? Like this… First Name _________ Last Name ________ instead of… First Name Last Name Also, is there a way to make the boxes next to each field smaller? They are really long (like above) Thank you for your help!! Robin

Good day We are looking to incorporate our finance weekly tasks and monthly tasks in airtable for the 52 weeks of the year. Every day there are deliverables. We report our meetings weekly on our output. How do we go about incorporating this into Airtable? I have tried the project management tool available but the problem is once the month is finished I need to edit the deliverable dates every month.

Hi there,I need to create 3 forms that are pretty much exactly the same, but the link for each is inserted into a different flyer which is going to three different groups of people - each form is then linked to an automation which will catagorise the respondent for us so we know which form they have filled out. The problem is the 3 forms need to have exactly the same display name, but I want to differentiate them by name in my base view, which I am unable to do at present. Does anyone have a solution?Thanks!

I have a base that has multiple tables for planning our annual conference. We collected proposals using a form view (Call for Proposals table), which includes fields for speakers (Speaker 1 Name, Speaker 1 Email, Speaker 2 Name, Speaker 2 Email, etc).    I am using FillOut for outside folks to update their submission. I am trying to pull the data for all speakers (Name and Email) into one streamlined table (Speaker Management). So how do I get Amy, Jessica, Miranda, Kristy all in one field with their email in another in a new table called Speaker Management? It should automatically update if changes are made to the original fields in Call for Proposals. This was there is always an up to date list of who our speaker contacts are. Hi. Thanks in advance for any help.I am importing a  CSV file out of another application that exports a field in a currency format. ($X,XXX.XX). I've created a currency field in Airtable to import it into, but AT always ignores it.So, I ended up exporting to Excel, changing that field to a number without a dollar sign and that allowed me to import it into the AT currency field.  However, I'd like to avoid this step and go directly from the exported CSV into AT without messing with Excel.I assumed this meant that Airtable wasn't recognizing it as a currency or number and wouldn't move it into the currency field. So, I thought I'd create a text field to import it into, then create a formula field to make it what I need it to be, but it won't import it into a text file either.Not sure why this is so difficult for me.  Any ideas welcome. Well, as a certain happens as my business grows in my system grows, I'm realizing that I need to do some tweaks and I'm wondering what you would recommend here. I'm sure everybody has run into the situation. I've created two separate linked fields in one table and I wanna narrow it down to just linking one and looking up the other so now that I've got data in it. I am working on a project for a service company. I have a table with clients and then a table of projects that are linked back to the client. Clients are assigned a rate based on different factors. The rate is carried through to any of the projects they are linked to via lookup field. However, I would like to override the lookup field should we have a promotional rate or a specific project needs to be billed at a different hourly rate. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to 2-Way Sync between a Business Workspace table and a table of a separate Team Workspace?Would it be setup from the Business Ws table?

Hi there,We're building a decision-making helper tool on Airtable to reduce the number of meetings at work. For each decision to make that requires the opinion of more than one person, we intend to have people use a dedicated Airtable interface. Someone will create the topic to be discussed on it and then add the relevant participants to the topic.But I'm having a hard time choosing the type of field for the `Participants` field on our database. I feel like it could be both a User field or a Linked Record field. In both cases, I managed to get a `Participants Count` field: in one case with a formula, in the other case with a Count field. I don't know which field type to pick because I don't have a clear overview of each choice's fallout.What seems the best approach according to you?Thanks.

Hello everyone,I'd like to have an informative main field in one of my tables but im blocked because of circular references. To be brief, I have a table Programme, that is referenced in Sessions, that is referenced in Half-days, that have begin & end dates.In Sessions, i have a cumulative field that defines which is the earliest half-day of the Session in the field {from} and the latest in the field {to}.Id Like for Sessions to have in their main field this formula:{from} {Code name of Programme (from Programme)}and I can't because it is causing a circular reference.Is there a workaround any of you can think of?or How can I get more information about the error to try and solve it?

Hi all,Can someone please assist me in linking my worklist with a reference table? Essentially what I'm trying to accomplish is to pull in information from a reference sheet into the main worklist whenever a couple conditions match.For example, if the "Region" listed on the worklist is AL-1 and the Insurance number is 4, it will search the reference table and pull in the 4th insurance plan from that specified region and import that plan name into the master list which will ultimately be displayed in the interface view.

Hello,I'm looking for a task list where I can set interval dates for a task and then have the base automation send an email reminder every so often to the individual to complete the task.  Or instead (in addition) have a dashboard where this data could be displayed in some capacity (perhaps filtered and sorted by job tasks that are overdue).I also want the user to be able to log in and check when they completed the task for a certain date.Let me know if you have any advice on this! Thank you!

Is there anyone here who can help on how best to map product availability?My use case is translation rights -  where a manuscript which can be sold across territories (~60), languages (~50) and formats (~5) e.g. 'BOOKTITLE' sold to North American ex Canada, English, Print or perhaps World-German-Audio. Can be re-sold on expiry.What is the best way to capture this without bloat? Hi there,I'm working on a Table where I input weekly sales figures and each Monday of every week. The columns are as follows: Sales > Shows (Linked Records to another Table) > Date.Ideally, I'd like an automation to run to create say 30 new records with the date and Shows populated. This format stays the same every week, it's just that I want to remove the need to copy and paste, creating these from scratch every Monday, so all I need to do is enter the sales figures.Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I have a view of all the tasks assigned this week grouped by the main assignee. I have now added a another user field called support and I'm looking for a way to group by if the person is the main assignee or the support so I can see all the tasks they need to be working on, not just the ones they are the main POC on.Is there a way to do this? I figure it's with a formula but I can't figure it out. I know I could do this with individual views filtered by if assignee is X person OR support is X person, but I want to be able to see all the tasks for all the people in 1 view.

Hello, I am trying to collect two types of survey responses through Fillout parent & child form that are linked to two separate Airtable tables.1) I am using the record picker option on Fillout to let respondents create new records. Currently, only child form responses are updated on Airtable and the parent form responses do not get updated on Airtable even though they are integrated correctly. What could be the issue with this problem?2) Is there a way to set titles to the new records created by respondents? Currently the new selected record appears as a blank. 3) Even though I have integrated the respondent identifiers for both parent and child form, the unique link to log or identifier (name) columns do not get updated on Airtable. Is there a solution for this? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! 

Hi there,I am building a base with 2 tabs: the first one is for data entry and to be linked to the second tab which contains standardized data.  About 5-10% of the data in the second tab updates frequently and the data in tab 1 must reflect the data in tab 2 on the date of entry, meaning the data in tab 1 should maintain the old data and if new data is entered, it will show the most current data from tab 2.How do you counter this problem?  Any insights or help will be appreciated.  Thank you very much!
