Base Design

I am working on a project for a service company. I have a table with clients and then a table of projects that are linked back to the client. Clients are assigned a rate based on different factors. The rate is carried through to any of the projects they are linked to via lookup field. However, I would like to override the lookup field should we have a promotional rate or a specific project needs to be billed at a different hourly rate. Any suggestions?

Is it possible to 2-Way Sync between a Business Workspace table and a table of a separate Team Workspace?Would it be setup from the Business Ws table?

Hi there,We're building a decision-making helper tool on Airtable to reduce the number of meetings at work. For each decision to make that requires the opinion of more than one person, we intend to have people use a dedicated Airtable interface. Someone will create the topic to be discussed on it and then add the relevant participants to the topic.But I'm having a hard time choosing the type of field for the `Participants` field on our database. I feel like it could be both a User field or a Linked Record field. In both cases, I managed to get a `Participants Count` field: in one case with a formula, in the other case with a Count field. I don't know which field type to pick because I don't have a clear overview of each choice's fallout.What seems the best approach according to you?Thanks.

Hello everyone,I'd like to have an informative main field in one of my tables but im blocked because of circular references. To be brief, I have a table Programme, that is referenced in Sessions, that is referenced in Half-days, that have begin & end dates.In Sessions, i have a cumulative field that defines which is the earliest half-day of the Session in the field {from} and the latest in the field {to}.Id Like for Sessions to have in their main field this formula:{from} {Code name of Programme (from Programme)}and I can't because it is causing a circular reference.Is there a workaround any of you can think of?or How can I get more information about the error to try and solve it?

Hi all,Can someone please assist me in linking my worklist with a reference table? Essentially what I'm trying to accomplish is to pull in information from a reference sheet into the main worklist whenever a couple conditions match.For example, if the "Region" listed on the worklist is AL-1 and the Insurance number is 4, it will search the reference table and pull in the 4th insurance plan from that specified region and import that plan name into the master list which will ultimately be displayed in the interface view.

Hello,I'm looking for a task list where I can set interval dates for a task and then have the base automation send an email reminder every so often to the individual to complete the task.  Or instead (in addition) have a dashboard where this data could be displayed in some capacity (perhaps filtered and sorted by job tasks that are overdue).I also want the user to be able to log in and check when they completed the task for a certain date.Let me know if you have any advice on this! Thank you!

Is there anyone here who can help on how best to map product availability?My use case is translation rights -  where a manuscript which can be sold across territories (~60), languages (~50) and formats (~5) e.g. 'BOOKTITLE' sold to North American ex Canada, English, Print or perhaps World-German-Audio. Can be re-sold on expiry.What is the best way to capture this without bloat? Hi there,I'm working on a Table where I input weekly sales figures and each Monday of every week. The columns are as follows: Sales > Shows (Linked Records to another Table) > Date.Ideally, I'd like an automation to run to create say 30 new records with the date and Shows populated. This format stays the same every week, it's just that I want to remove the need to copy and paste, creating these from scratch every Monday, so all I need to do is enter the sales figures.Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙂

I have a view of all the tasks assigned this week grouped by the main assignee. I have now added a another user field called support and I'm looking for a way to group by if the person is the main assignee or the support so I can see all the tasks they need to be working on, not just the ones they are the main POC on.Is there a way to do this? I figure it's with a formula but I can't figure it out. I know I could do this with individual views filtered by if assignee is X person OR support is X person, but I want to be able to see all the tasks for all the people in 1 view.

Hello, I am trying to collect two types of survey responses through Fillout parent & child form that are linked to two separate Airtable tables.1) I am using the record picker option on Fillout to let respondents create new records. Currently, only child form responses are updated on Airtable and the parent form responses do not get updated on Airtable even though they are integrated correctly. What could be the issue with this problem?2) Is there a way to set titles to the new records created by respondents? Currently the new selected record appears as a blank. 3) Even though I have integrated the respondent identifiers for both parent and child form, the unique link to log or identifier (name) columns do not get updated on Airtable. Is there a solution for this? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! 

Hi there,I am building a base with 2 tabs: the first one is for data entry and to be linked to the second tab which contains standardized data.  About 5-10% of the data in the second tab updates frequently and the data in tab 1 must reflect the data in tab 2 on the date of entry, meaning the data in tab 1 should maintain the old data and if new data is entered, it will show the most current data from tab 2.How do you counter this problem?  Any insights or help will be appreciated.  Thank you very much! 

Hello there,I am trying to automatically delete records after 1 week. As I am in free plan, I can't run scripts (currently I don't want to upgrade). I set up a field which tags every opportunity with a delete text. Can someone tell me how to solve that with the Search Step in Make (formerly Integromat). The following delete step is not the problem, I guess. Somehow, I just don't find the right formula.Thanks in advance!

Hi there,I've created a base where I track all of the marketing activity for a number of shows, and now wish to track the weekly sales and present them in a line graph, similar to how you would in Excel.At the moment, I have a column in a table called 'Revenue To-Date' where I update the figure. However, this is replacing the data each time rather than tracking it in order to show trends. I'm open to using an app or building out another table but would love a simple way to update this via the interface I have built out.The data itself comes through via an email each day as an Excel spreadsheet, so if there was a way for this to be automated, too, I'd love to learn the best way to configure.Thanks in advance!

I don’t yet want to put them in the form. Is there a way for me to add a sort of note-to-self in a form view to remind that, “hey, here are a couple of additional questions you might want to consider?” If I was looking at a grid view, I’d just type those in a cell.

Among other things, the form must specify how the project affects our strategic goals. So we have 6 fields with strategic objectives where the user can rate 1-10. “Strategic Objective A”, ‘Strategic Objective B’ etc.Now these strategic objectives can change from year to year. However, I would like to know for each project on the basis of which objectives we defined the prioritization at the start of the project.I would therefore create another table where the objectives are recorded annually and the prioritization of the objectives is recorded in another field.Now I would like my interface (project overview) to display the objectives/priorities for each project that were defined at the start of the project, even if our general strategic objectives have changed in the meantime. How

Hi Airtable Community!Problem: I'm having trouble adding a linked record to multiple records without erasing the data that is already in the cell.ContextI've got one table of studies, and another table of people. Each person can be linked to any number of studies in a "Contacted" field. Sometimes that field is empty, if that person hasn't been contacted yet, and sometimes it has a few linked records (studies) in there already.If I contact 50 people, I want to add the study I contacted them for to their record. If I copy/paste the study to the cell, this overwrites the existing data , so if there were 3 studies in there to start, I'll erase them if I paste in the new study. What I triedI made a field that concatenates the study name I'm adding with the study names already in the "contacted" field, and it comes out as text. Hey all, So, I’m trying to create a good poker league base, to track our friendly poker club results. I’m the only editor and I’m thinking about creating forms to allow other to enlist themselves to tournaments, I’ll create. So far, the base structure is: Players - personal info about the players in the club, such as name, phone number etc… Tournaments - list of the tournaments with date, properties etc… Leaderboard - as the name suggests, a leaderboard. who earned the most Balance - supposed to be a running balance. deposits by players and money sent to winners Results - Name of a tournament and the winners. Hello, I want to send a form to users to sign up to an activity so the user can provide their contact information and their acknowledgement to have read certain conditions. I know how to configure the basic personal information, but what’s the best way to do the section for reading and acknowledging the conditions? I don’t have a place on the web to put the text to read so I can’t send the reader to an external link. Is there a way to link to a separate field in a base, with very long text ? I would have to do this for three conditions. I was thinking: One of the field has to be a long text “X” to read. The next field would be a single check box “I have read X” Any suggestions? I have a contest that has 3 rounds that are dependent on each other to start and stop. Each Customer's contest could have different durations for each of the round. They usually define a start date and a duration.For each contest record I define: Name of contestNominationsStartDuration EndRound 1StartDurationEndRound 2StartDurationEndI would like to use date dependencies to link the three rounds, so if I change the start date or duration of any round, the next rounds dates will shift. I have tried to configure the date dependencies but it looks like I can only set one configuration per record.  Is there any way around this that I am missing? Thanks in advance

Wondering if anybody has the same challenge, or has thought of a solution/workaround to help monitor Interfaces across multiple Bases?My team manages many similar projects that we run for multiple clients, and for confidentiality reasons the data for each project should be stored in its own individual Base. In each Base, we have data to report on overall project status which we currently present in an Interface.Now, our project managers find themselves needing to understand holistically the status of 20+ projects, but now must manually locate and open 20+ Interfaces to view each one. This is something they must do on a daily basis.Does anybody have a solution to bring all the Interfaces one would like to continuously monitor into one singular location? 

Would be great to have a better to navigate across tables - i have a base with more than 50 tables that is difficult to manage
