I recently discovered the KasPer Lite Human Resources database, and it has been very helpful! One thing I did want to change about the settings was the “Leave Rules” tab. I basically want employees to accumulate personal days based on when they joined the company. For example, Dave joins the company on 9/30/21. I want him to have 30 days paid leave valid for use until 9/30/22. What I noticed in the “leave rules” tab was that everyone has a holiday year start and a holiday year end. I want the holiday year start and end to depend on when the employee joined the company. Is this doable?

Hi, I am in charge of a little neighborhood project. I’ve collected almost 700 vinyl record albums from neighbors who no longer want them. I want to distribute them to the 15-20 other neighbors who do want them. Because of the pandemic and for scheduling purposes, I don’t want to just put the albums out on a table and invite the neighbors over to pick through them. So I have entered them into an Access database. Since I am certain that there will be some albums chosen by more than 1 neighbor, I am developing an algorithm that will allow me to distribute them fairly. What I need now is a way for the neighbors to let me know which albums they want. I thought about just sending out a printed list and letting them mark the ones they want, but this has a couple of problems. It is messy and error prone both for them and for me. Hello, I’m trying to see whether it is possible to create a single select field that only shows “Products” from a column if they are a “Current” line to be used on a form. The single select field on my form shows all “Products”, regardless of whether they are “Old” or “Current”. Referencing the graphic below, is there any way to achieve this? It would essentially be: Single Select OF Products WHERE Products = Current Any support would be very appreciated. Thank you :slightly_smiling_face:

I have a base I’m using to formulate beauty products. Each ingredient in the product is in a row on the table and the resulting amounts need to be converted from weight to percentages. I’ve done so by creating a sum rollup in the parent relationship (not sure if that’s a term or not) and using the total to create the formula in the table. So far so good. It turns out there are at least two different subsets of products, each needing their own percentages in the same column of the same table. Is there a way to roll up these two different subsets in order to get separate percentages in the same column? I’ve tried creating a subcategory table to represent the two different subsets of products but now I’m stuck. It’s basically a rollup through two variables. Is it possible?

Hey all, wasn’t sure where to post this question in the community… I’m looking to order entries so that most recent entries show first. In the screenshot below, Airtable keeps the oldest entry at the top no matter what I do. How can I invert this? Thanks, Christopher

Does anyone know how if there is maximum limit on how many records from one table can be linked to a single record from another table. I know the maximum records that can exist in any one table (even on the enterprise plan) is 50,000. So, then, could I have a base with two tables where the first table has 49,000 records, all of which are linked to a single record in the second table? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello everyone. I am just in the beginning states of a big project (for me), which I hope will do the following. I have customers who fill out 5 different forms. Right now, after they are submitted, I go through the forms, and copy and paste entries into my Airtable. What I would like to do is have the forms update the initial entry with information. The flow would look like: Customer fills out form 1, creating the entry Customer fills out form 2, updating the entry Customer fills out form 3, updating the entry Etc. My first question before I get started is simple: is it possible for the content of other forms to be ADDED to cells in an entry, instead of OVERWRITING cells. I don’t want information that was submitted in a cell in Form 2, to be overwritten when the customer fills out some related information in Form 3. If this is possible, could someone kindly give me a keyword or a help article that explains how to do this? I am

Hi everyone, I desperately tried for 3 days to solve this problem, could you help me ? I have 2 forms I ask my clients to fill. each form fills a separated table in the same base. Form 1 and Form 2. to do the folllow up I would like to create a “follow up table” to see which companies filled form 1 and form 2, and to be able to send reminders to the companies that just filled form 1. I tried with automations ( find records based on the company name) but it did not work. I would like to have a " follow up table" with the name of all the companies that filled either form 1 and form 2, and being able to see in the fields Form 1 and Form 2, if they filled both. ( the ones that just filled 1 form would receive an automated email if I manage to create the automation :slightly_smiling_face: )Could you help me ? thanks a lot !

I hope this is the right place to ask this. I’m hoping to figure out an easier way to handle a data type in my base. Basically, a lot of the data we use has cities in our area for different purposes (Address for the student, parent address, school address, things like that). So basically we have 5 different fields that are basically of a “City” type. To import into our system, the city names have to exactly match what is in there, or they won’t import. To accommodate this, I made the city list a dropdown selection. We have a ton of cities we serve, and it seems every year we get new ones. Unfortunately, that involves updating the attributes for not only 5 fields, but due to confidential data regulations, those same 5 fields across multiple bases. Is there some way to sync the dropdown selections for those city fields to a master list somewhere? I usually set my primary field as a formula, a concatenation of the Record_ID() and another field of the table, let’s say Name. So if I have a table “Contact” with fields Name, Email, Status. I would use a concat of Name and record id as the primary field. This ensures that it’s unique. It also helps when I have a linked field to Contact from another table, as I am able to search based on Name. How do you design so that Primary Field can be unique as well as easily searchable in the Linked Field popup? Would love to hear from others.

Hi there! New AirTable user here and I am using this platform for my dissertation research. I created a beautiful form on the wrong base and I want to copy it to a new/correct one. The original form took me quite a while to get perfect, so I don’t want to re-do it. So, my question is, how can I copy a form from one base to another base? Hi all, I need some tips cause I would like to create a survey form but with “unique values”. Let me explain: Assuming we have a team, and we want to make a voting (es. a number from 1 till 5…) . I know that I can manage it by many types of fielad (rating, single select menu etc…). But for me is important that the value of vote is “unique” (like a bullet :laughing: :gun: ) so,for example if Tom uses the number 5 into a field he can’t use it anymore in the same record ( in this example Tom remains with 1, 2, 3, and 4 to use and so on…). Of course others people can use each one the 5 value but always one time only like Tom doing… Do you think it could be possible to manage this with a right use of Airtable? Thanks

I need to set a Due Date based off the meeting date which would all live in the same row. For example, if the event date is 7/29/21 and the task is due 10 days before the even I would need the due date for this task to auto-populate 7/19/21. I have tried using the DATE ADD function but this only allows the same number of days for the whole row. I would need a different formula used in each row since every task has different timelines.

Hello, i am trying to create a db, which contains recurring and unique events, similar to recurring events in facebook. could you, please share ideas how to implement such case? maybe there are some standard recommendations how to this event can recurre more then one time per week if event is recurring i wish to have opportunity to cancel one or more specific event also it some cases all events can be cancelled

I have a table for Users, the primary field is UID, I have email, name, created time. I have a table for Orders. It has Order IDs, email, final price, order place date. I have a table for Cancellations. It has cancellation ID, email, cancellation date. I have a table for User updates. This ha User ID, email, new email (if updated), new name (if updated). All tables are populated automatically from Zapier upon events in another system. I would like to show the SUM of all order placed for the specific User ID under Users, however I can’t seem to link this via UIDs? Does this mean I have to change the primary column in both places to Emails? I need a custom field under Cancellations, that looks up the last date an Order was placed and adds a month to it. However, Cancellations does not have user IDs… will I also have to use emails here? Last but not least,

Hi all. I’m a PhD student in history using Airtable to manage archival research for my dissertation. My research involves tracking individuals and family groupings through many different archives. At the moment, I have a table for “people” and I will eventually have multiple tabs for the different archives I do research in. The “people” table is my primary table, and then I link those people to specific archival records in the archives tables. The first goal is to be able to see at a glance and analyze all of the different archival records across multiple tabs that relate to that individual. The issue of course is that many archival records have more than one person represented, and every person has multiple archival records. So, I need to represent “many-to-many” relationships. For example, I have a collection of letters in which I want to show who the letter is from and who it is to. I’m wondering if I’ve designed this right, if I need any kind of junction table, and

Hi, i am trying to use airtable to store the results of multiple surveys, all that have slightly different questions. I also want to be able to generate reports and summaries of the responses to these surveys. The schema I came up with so far (the core of it) is: Client = (id, contact_email, name) Survey = (id, client, name, start_date, end_date) Category = (id, name, parent : Category | null) Question = (text, categories: Category) Response = (survey : Survey, email, question : Question, response) response could be agree/disagree/strongly agree/strongly disagree/neutral. I have 5 tables: A. invoices (many invoices from each vendor). B to E. Advance payments, packaging, and other amounts they should deduct from the total in A. I want to consolidate the total to pay, per vendor, after discounts (A-(B+C+D+E)), and have a detailed report for each vendor (invoices - deductions). This last action is my challenge, the report for each vendor should include invoice & debit numbers, and send it for each vendor. I could use Integromat to automate some processes, but I can’t get the detailed report per vendor yet. Any ideas? Thank you all in advance. JRM

Is it possible to have a linked record be filtered by using IS logic? When using the filtering tool and selecting the linked field, I’m only given the four text options and no IS option (see below). I’d like to have it be like this (see below).
