Good Morning Brilliant Friends! Is anyone aware of web based database tools that are ideal for data analysis and ongoing process capability analysis? Airtable is great for project management, but is extremely limited in it’s ability to crunch data. We could use Microsoft Access, but it’s not exactly intuitive and I am hoping to find a beautiful interface like Airtable, but focused on data analysis. Thank you! Paul Warren

As our business has grown over the last several months, we are finding a need to automate some redundant tasks. Is there a way that I could create a ROW in TABLE 2 when I add a ROW to TABLE 1 (When a certain field is VALID)? Furthermore, if this is possible - could I have the new linked row auto populate with fixed fields or information? Ex: Table 1 (Manual Input) ABC Liquors / 123 Boulevard / John Doe 123-456-7890 / … / Conditional Field that yields NEW ROW Ready to Launch? I accidentally deleted my table when I was trying to delete a view. How can I recover this?

Hello, We use Airtable for confidential information. Is there a way to lock a view so that not only can our team not change the filter settings, but also not be able to duplicate the view? Also, is there a way to create a personal view, but for a group of people? Is there a way to keep people out of certain locked views? Something else that would be helpful is being able to customize the permissions of each user for each view. For example, I would like users to have editor permissions for Views A, B, and C but Read only permissions for Views D, E, and F. I know this can be solved by creating different bases, but because we can not link bases, copying and pasting records from one base to the other would allow the possibility of clients falling through the cracks.

For simplicity, let’s say I have an “Orders” table and a “Contacts” table. There’s a linked field on the Orders table with the customer’s email address. This is linked to the Contacts table, which creates a parallel linked field on the Contacts table that links back to orders. How can I create a secondary field on the Contacts table that only shows orders that meet a certain condition, but also links to these records? I can’t do it with a lookup field, because it seems that once I add a condition to that, the items that populate in that field aren’t “live,” that is, you can’t get back to the target record, it’s just text separated via commas. I’ve tried changing the linked field on the Contacts table to limit selection to a view with the proper filters, but it ignores this entirely and still shows all orders.

If my base have two table that is Table1 & Table2,i want to do that when i upload a data in table1 through my app that data will automatic add in table2 …is it possible???if possible kindly help me @Bill.French add a solution image if possible

Is there a character limit in the Formula field type beyond which the formula no longer processes? It allows me to type in arbitrarily long formulas, but I notice that sometimes after a certain point the editor no long suggests auto-fill options when typing in the formula, and when I finish writing a long one, it seems like the end parts of the formula don’t process. Then when I go back to look at the formula, the end part of it is not present in the Formula box, even though I know I typed it in there. (A separate, but related issue - the thing I am trying to accomplish with this is converting a month number from a date field to the month name. So my hyper-long formula starts IF(MonthNum=1,"January",IF(MonthNum=2,"February",IF(... etc. If you know another way I can accomplish this that wouldn’t run into character limits, that’d be great too - thanks!

I need to find a way of creating multiple views of all data from a table. Ideally I would like to create a table and duplicate the table in a way that if I edit the data on either of the tables it will auto update on the other table and I can set up different views and filters for each of the linked tables. I may want to show all tasks for one team member on one table and all tasks for part of the project on another table but be referencing the same data on each of the table veiws. The columns would be the same on each table, better still if you edit the column properties on one column it will update on the other. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Greetings to the Airtable Community! In my SVCS/Tasks table I have two special views. One filters where items are coded as “Task”, the other where items are coded as “SVC” and a status of “SVC YES.” I link to the SVCS/Tasks table in my Events table, using the views above to “Limit record selection to a view.” One column to display the SVC items, the other the Tasks. This was working well, but now I’m seeing SVC items in the Task view and vice versa. I’ve attached some screen grabs to demonstrate the issue. Any assistance/guidance would be most appreciated.

Is there any way for a “Link” field to share the filter properties of a “multiple select” field? For example, when filtering a multiple select field, I have many options (e.g., has any of, has all of…) and I can toggle the selected options on/off. Seen in these 2 screenshots: However, when filtering a linked field, I have limited options and I have to type in the exact thing I’m looking for. I’m sharing a view of a table to a client, however, when I update the table, their view isn’t updated unless they refresh the tab. This makes it completely useless for me. I would add them as a collaborator but that would give them access to hidden data that I need to keep protected. Is there a setting or work-around for this? Thank you in advance

Hey! I’m trying to count the number of Mondays and Thursdays between two dates - does anyone have a formula or tip on how to achieve this?

I’m setting up a large base to track an entire industry. I will have several people adding info to the base. The “Employer” field in the “Worker” table will link to the “Employer” table and will track the employers of each worker. There are thousands of workers and dozens of employers, and many of the employers have different possible ways to write their name (e.g. MEC Consultants, M.E.C. Consultants, Inc., MEC, etc.). Is there any feature in Airtable that will protect against us creating multiple unique entries for the same company over and over, other than clear rules, thorough training and pro-active clean-up?

Here’s what I’m trying to do: In Table-1 I have records with a “Created At” field and “Status” field. I’d like to create a new Table where I could see total numbers of records from Table-1 where “Created At” is let’s say May and “Status Field” equals to Done. I’ve tried linking records from Table-1 to Table-2 and use Rollup filed but it only counts number of linked records, to look like this: Month - May Total Sales - 12 Amount - 120$ Any ideas?

Hi I have a project / task management base that works well, If i can find a solution to the following point I’d be a very happy man. I have tables for projects and tasks and link the two, in the task view i have a grid view where task are grouped by project. The top task under each project is the next action on it, i have a process (GTD ish) where I have a list of those next actions across all projects, I currently create the next actions with a tick box I manually set but its cumbersome. Any suggestions on how this could be automated would be appreciated, Regards Rob

I am creating a Master Calendar & Team Calendar system in Airtable, where each calendar update automatically updates/creates based on an update in the other calendar. I put together a system that created a “Unique Event ID”, which is a shared ID for the same event across both Bases. Everything is working great so far, except that I would like to delete records automatically in one Base if the corresponding record is not found in the other. There’s no Delete trigger in Integromat, so my workaround is: -The trigger is an existing “Update Record” automation After that automation completes, the automation will do a scan on both Airtable Bases. I’m trying to set up a hire system that tracks when an item is on loan or when it’s available. Is there a way to restrict selection of an item if it is ‘on loan’ for that date?

Is there any way to create a read-only table view that can be accessed anonymously via the API? I just want to be able to do a simple table lookup/mapping (with a filter formula) with a front-end Javascript call without exposing an API key (or having to host a back-end script on a 3rd-party server). Alternatively, is it reasonable to create a “collaborator” account with read-only access and expose that account’s API key?
