Fiscal Week Numbers commencing 1st April

Hi, I am new to Airtable, so please forgive if this question has been asked before. I am trying to autocalculate week numbers based on a created date. I need the week numbers to be: 01/04/2020 to 05/04/2020 = Wk 1 06/04/2020 to 12/04/2020 = Wk 2 13/04/2020 to 19/04/2020 = Wk 3 etc etc Currently I can only get the week numbers to calculate based on a calendar year and therefore all my weeks are out by 13 weeks or so. Any help you can give, will be greatly appreciated

Importing and linking 3 different tables

Hi all, Apologies in advance if this was posted elsewhere - my use-case is slightly different from what I was seeing and I can’t seem to figure out how to get the results that I’m looking for - was hoping the community had some advice! I imported 3 tables into Airtable: Apartment Listings (Primary field is address, secondary field has a unique ID for each apartment) Brokers (Primary field is the broker’s name, secondary field has a unique ID for each broker) Broker Assignments (Primary field is the Apartment Listing ID from above, secondary field is the corresponding Broker ID from above) Most of the spaces have several brokers listed on them, so on the Broker Assignments table, the same space is often listed 2-3 times with the corresponding broker. Similarly, there are brokers who are assigned to multiple apartment listings and if you sort by Broker ID, there could be 5-10 spaces that line up with them. Recent change to default date format?

I am by no means new to Airtable, and very few things have left me stumped in my 2+ years building Airtable bases. However, I’ve noticed recently that in my “Friendly” date columns, the date is being displayed as follows: 6 January, 2020 Instead of how it used to display: January 6, 2020 Is this a setting that I’ve unknowingly changed or has Airtable updated the format to this setting in the Date column options?

Autofill checkbox using Zapier

Hello everyone! This being my first posted question, please let me know if I haven’t provided enough information / context, or if this question is being asked in the wrong Category. This will help improve the way I phrase the question as well as where to address it. I am looking into Zapier, using it to automatically create a record, and when creating this record automatically filling in some of the data. Most of it is pretty straightforward, but I can’t figure out yet how to instruct Zapier to automatically check some of the checkboxes in the row / record. If anyone either knows the answer, or knows where I can find the answer, that would be great! If this question has been asked previously, I checked for an answer but I could have missed it, I will remove this question so that things will stay organised. Thanks in advance, Gunnar

Hi I’m doing more and more with Airtable and now could not imagine working without it. Trying to do something but not sure it’s possible. I basically aggregated a list of interesting links. I have different columns with the Title, Sumary/note, groups and I would like to find a way to add the main image for a link in order to get a gallery view. Something like Pinterest mosaic. Is there a way to make this automatically happening from the main link? Thanks, O.

Envelope Budgeting System

Hi, We’re trying to setup a simple Envelope Budgeting System The idea is to write your expense in the right category, so for example, if you pay $5 for a milk it should be reduced from the ‘grocery’ column, and if you take $20 for a night out in the club it should be taken from the ‘going out’ column. Each column should have a monthly budget in advance, so, for example, the ‘going out’ category should have in advance $500 and the ‘grocery’ category should have a $800. Each expense per the corresponding category should reduce the starting amount, the idea is that you can “withdraw” money but when the category reaches zero you can’t withdraw anymore from it, categories that you didn’t take money from are accumulating more money for the month after. That’s it. I spend on it so many hours and I couldn’t figure it out, each formula that I’m doing is working on the specific row and there’s no way to have an amount for different categories, I’m sure I’m not planning it right and I’ll be happy

Tracking Budgets

Good Afternoon, I’ve just started having a look at airtable to see if it’s suitable for my needs. I’d like to keep track of many different budgets for a variety of expenditure in our business. I currently have a base with two tables. The first is a site table detailing all of the sites we currently provide a service for. This table includes an annual materials budget. The second table documents each instance of expenditure, which is linked to the corresponding site. What I would like to do is to have a running tally of the expenditure for each site (which I’ve done by grouping by site which shows a sum at the top of the group). I then need to compare this expenditure to the budget from the sites table. Is there a formula for this? I’ve tried a few things but I’m not getting the correct result. Ideally I’d also like to track this over the course of the year. So each instance of spending has a corresponding date and so airtable keeps track of the spending for each year and compares that

Hello all, I am looking for suggestions on how to manage the following I have a multi-year (lets say 4 years) funding program, in which there are many individual projects, each with their allotted expenses. For example I created a table along the following lines: Year Equipment Materials Fees Travel Labor Total Project 1 Y1 1000 500 2000 2000 10000 15500 Project 1 Y2 0 0 0 1000 5000 6000 Project 2 Y2 1000 500 2000 2000 10000 15500 Project 2 Y3 1000 1000 2000 2000 10000 15500 Project 3 Y2 1000 0 0 0 15000 16000 . . . Project n Y1… etc… I can also create a similar table for Expenditures against those budgets Is this a workable way to go about it? Can I set up a variance table that calculates the difference?

Table of budget category totals

I am sure this is simple, but I’m struggling to adapt to the Airtable way of thinking! I have a table of budget entries for my month, for example: 1 May $100 Clothes 2 May $50 Food 5 May $20 Clothes “Food” and “Clothes” are single selects. Budgets? can i do actual budgets in airtable?

My guess is maybe NO because the topics that come up on searching “budget” have essentially NO responses… I looked at a template base called Event Planning & Budgeting…which i thought would help… but i’m simply not following… I’ve experimented with rollups and things, but it seems like it’s more work and time to do it in airtable if i have to do double entry to get the view i need - eg.enter an expense with its various attributes in one table, and then go and add that expense to the corresponding rollup field in another table… am i doing it wrong? is there not a way to automatically aggregate based on an IF statement? surely i’m missing something… my vision is this: One table for overall budget one table for expenses one table for revenues budget table would aggregate from the other two, with a select field “type” column of revenue or expense which would then be used for the grid view… budget table would have the high level DEPTs in each type… then the revenue and expense tables wo

Update a Record with Zapier and Webooks

So, I know enough to ask this question, but not enough to know if it’s possible or even makes sense. So I’m hoping someone can set me straight. Use Case I’m creating task lists on a company intranet with embedded tables. I want my employees to be able to mark the task done without logging into airtable and editing it directly. I know there are some ways to use external forms like Typeform and zapier to update a record, but is there a way to use a URL/Webhooks to trigger a zap to update a record. For example, could I create a URL formula that when clicked, would trigger a zap and pass the record ID so that it updates that specific record check box to “done”? Is this possible or am I thinking of this Webhook thing all wrong?

Booking Items - Check availability

Hey community, I am working on a booking system for bikes. Bike Booking To make it simple for my team, I would like to use the Airtable forms as a booking form. (See “Bookings” -> “Bookings-Munich” form) When a customer calls to book one or more bikes, we want to use this form and fill name, start-date, end-date. (I use “Munich” as a default location on this form, as logic jumps aren´t supported in airtable forms…) With “Bike-Selection” (linked record to BIKES table) i set "limit records selection to view "Bookable-Munich). Then i get a list of bikes. The problem i have, how to avoid bookings on the same day(s). Using the form, set start-& end date, i have no clue how to filter/show only bikes which are available (location Munich) on or between that specifics date(s)… Any ideas? Is it possible with a airtable form at all? Or do i have to use a a special formula? Any help would be great! Thanks Yosh

Summarising 12 monthly expense tables into one total table

Hi I would like to create a summary total table of expenses from 12 monthly tables. Each monthly table has an expense category(single select) field which have been grouped. Other fields are values, date, and a short description which is the primary field. On the summary table I would like to show monthly totals for each expense category, cumulating to a yearly total. e.g January, Pension, 300, Feb, Pension, 300 etc with a rolling total at the end. Then Jan, mortgage, 1000, Feb, Mortgage, 100 etc…

Pasting multiple records from Excel or text file

Ok this seems like it should be simple but I can’t figure out how to just cut and paste multiple records. It always overwrites the existing data rather than creating new records. Super frustrating considering how tedious it is to enter data manually into Airtable! What am I doing wrong?

Using a form to update two different tables

I was able to use successfully the zap to update a record in a table. But… I want to have a way to get info from a potential client which his answers should be separated to two different tables. 1 is info about an asset, the 2nd is about contact. What should I do? Thanks

The confusion of linking tables

For newbies to Airtable, one of the biggest confusions when creating a “link to another record” from table #1 to table #2 is that Airtable automatically creates a “reverse link” in table #2 (linking back to table #1). This is actually fantastic & expected & a wonderful help to everyone — except for one thing: If you have previously hidden any fields inside table #2, Airtable oddly decides to HIDE the new linked record field instead of SHOWING the new field. This causes so much confusion, because unless you realize that this brand new field has been created & then hidden by Airtable, you might try to create your own “reverse link” in table #2 to point back to the records that you have already linked to in table #1, but of course, it won’t work the way that you would expect it to work — because the field you’re trying to create ALREADY EXISTS but it is just HIDDEN. To eliminate all confusion, it would be really fantastic if Airtable ALWAYS SHOWED this new field in the 2nd tab

Changing sort order of grouped items by another field

I have a view which is grouped by project name in order to show total time spent per project. My options for sorting the groups are alphabetical. I would prefer to sort this group by a date field so that it shows the most recent project at the top of the screen. Is this possible? I was able to create a formula “Date” & “Project” field which was successful, but it’s not a particularly clean way to go about it. Thanks!
