I currently accept user submissions via a form into an Airtable base. I collect name (fname, lname), email, and Twitter profile and although I’ve created a view with just this data, I think it’d be useful to have a table of “People”. Is there a way to do this automatically? Is this advisable? Ultimately I would like to use these inbound submissions to populate a kind of basic CRM, and having a People table seems like it’d be useful to have as I build out my base.

Hello, If record is added under a given column, can it be automatically tagged? For example, If I add a “John” under a column titled “Founder” for the “Companies” table, can John be automatically tagged as a “Founder” under the “People” table (to which the “Companies” table is linked)? Is there a way to label unread items in Calendar view? Our planner is populated by a form and it’d be great to have a way to star or colour new items submitted by others outside of our team that haven’t yet been expanded. We’ve just started using Airtable a couple of days ago and so far it’s great. Appreciate any help you can give us :winking_face:

Can a form designed in Blocks be saved in Word? I find it difficult to work within the Blocks template and would like to import or export the document and then work with it in another program. Thanks!

I am wondering, if it is possible to create a form, where the fields are located in a 2nd or 3rd column? Instead of Firstname Lastname Birthday City Country I am looking for Firstname Lastname Birthday City Country

When I share my Form with people, I do NOT want them to see “airtable” in the URL. So, if I embed the Form into my website, will users still see “airtable” in the URL? Or will they only see my company name in the URL? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi! I am trying to do a summary table of the daily logs I have in another one. By week, I could potentially link to, and then select the 7 days I need to (see image), but it would become very burdensome for monthly, quarterly and yearly overviews. I am already using the group by week and other views, but I would need another table to add custom notes to the week without making the daily log rows dirty. I am sure there is a quicker way, but not sure where to take it from. Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey there, Wondering if you all can help me with a Timezone issue I’m having that’s driving me nuts! I think it’s to do with GMT/BST but I would like any help in solving this because I can’t get it right. Trying to pair a Mentee and Mentor with each other, and they will live in different timezones, I can get the calendar invites to work, as it’s all based off nice and simple ISO time, but I can’t for the life of me get the timezone conversion to work in Airtable for local time (which I need for numerous other reasons related to communication) I’m using this formula to convert the time as follows: IF({Event Date + Start time}, DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE(DATETIME_PARSE({Event Date + Start time}), {Mentor Timezone}), 'MM/DD/YYYY h:mm'),"") However, I’m getting a delta across Mentee and Mentor, as shown below in both tables: Can one of you kind folk help me work out what’s going on? We have an event table that keeps track of our client’s events around the globe. Each event takes place in a different time zone. But Airtable doesn’t allow us to attach a time zone to a date/time field. We need to view this time in 2 different ways: The “local time” of the event. This time should always remain the same in the system, since it is the “local time” of the event. The “translated time” to each user’s time zone when each user logs into the system, so they know what time the event takes place in their own time zone. How can we successfully use Airtable to accomplish this? Is this even possible in Airtable?

Hi, I have a small business selling my own embroidery kits. I want to produce a detailed list of the contents of each kit, so when i need to make up more kits, I know exactly what goes into each one. Each kits has multiple thread colours of differing amounts. I want to include the thread number and the amount of thread for that number, for example, colour 386, 2m, colour 000, 1m and so on. At the moment the kits have limited numbers of threads and so I could just add multiple columns (thread 1, thread 2 etc), but once I get past 5 or so colours this may become onerous and unwieldy. Is there an alternative anyone can suggest?

Hey Guys, I want to plot submission on a map. It is all working fine, however when you click ‘expand record’ it displays all the information from the record. We don’t want this. We have hidden fields and made a new view - and the set the block up from this view but we still get ALL the record info. Any thoughts on how best to get around this as we can t have customer info displaying?

I have added a formula IF({Töö sisu} = “Hooldus”, “17”,IF({Töö sisu} = “Transport”, “7”, “”)) and the result is not a number so I cant format it nor can I use sum function. I need the 7 to be 7€ so I can count the sum.

I love the idea behind editing field permissions but I think I’m missing the concept. I hope someone can answer a few questions or give me an example of how they are using this new feature. Thanks in advance. Is there a way to allow someone to fill in the “blocked” field? Preferably without using forms. I see potential in the field restriction for an issue we currently have. When a team member inputs project details to send to a 3rd party vendor to price - they are going back and editing these details AFTER they submit the form to the vendor. This is a huge no, as it could cause problems later since the quote will not match the original details. The only way I can think to avoid this and use the field editing restrictions is by using a form to write up the initial project details then prevent a change on the actual table. Ideas or suggestions? If a field is restricted what keeps a blocked user from deleting the record? Am I missi

Hi Airtable! I created an iOS shortcut to have Notes sent to Mail and GMail as emails snd then added to my Airtable base. I have most of it setup. I just have a few questions. When I run the shortcut I keep getting previews, for each Note and email message and I have to tap “okay” each time, for both. Is there a way that I could eliminate these previews? I am trying to get the first line of each Note to also appear in the Subject line for each email. Is there a way to have all new Notes automatically get sent to Mail and Gmail, a day or so after the Note has been created? Thank you, Mary Kay

Hi All, In my base there are several fields which I’d like to appear in the form but not be editable. Whichever combination I use to secure these Field’s permissions results in the information in these fields blank when the form is sent out. The only way to display the Field’s content is to set the permissions either to Editors and above or Creators and above. If the field is set to specific users or nobody, then the field is blank in the form. How can this be fixed? Important caveat: the form is sent out using miniExtensions’ “Edit Existing Records with Airtable Form” so I can insert information in a specific record and send out a link to a form to other people in my organization to insert data (in only specific fields that I’d like, while the others are restricted to them). I’m dismayed that Airtable doesn’t yet have the option to Send Record… As Form Link. Thanks, all suggestions are highly welcome.

I have a list of projects (~25) and a list of mentors (~5). Each project has a couple mentors on it who meet with the team for mentor sessions and want to track notes. Is there an easy way to include a field that associates notes with a specific mentor for that project? To be clear, one mentor can be the mentor for multiple projects.

I’m struggling with working out a few thinks with the Gantt block. The problem I’m having with the Gantt is that it runs off a start date and an end date, which so far are manual entry. So the current plan is laid out roughly right, but it’s based on my own working out, which is going to be full of human error type issues. The next step is to automatically generate the end date based on the epic estimates, which is what I’m trying to figure out now but would appreciate some pointers and help from the community. Then I want to cross reference the launch date of my product on the Gantt with the date in the “releases” sheet to ensure they’re the same. At the moment they are not. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I’m trying to figure out if I can create x number of new records based on input from a numerical field of another record. So for example, if a customer fills in a form for 7 cakes, this will trigger the creation of 7 new cake records in another table. I’ve been trying to figure this out with Paths on Zapier, but to no avail. I have a feeling this might be doable using Code by Zapier, but coding is very much outside of my current skill level (although willing to learn if someone can point me in the right direction!). Hi guys, I upgraded to the pro account so I could send my customers to a custom URL after they complete my form. However, in every browser I try, the re-direct isn’t working and the page is being blocked. Obviously I am not happy with this as it was the main reason I upgraded and it is important that the re-direct works correctly, so the customer gets the closing information required. I’ve seen this question asked for 4 years. Has it been addressed? Is there a way to restrict editors from seeing certain business sensitive columns … e.g. employees don’t need to see profit and loss columns but do need to edit other data.

Hello. I am new to Airtable and am trying to “convert” an existing capacity planning & forecast spreadsheet into the Airtable platform. At this time, I have two main data sets that I must integrate. First: I have an employee work capacity (hrs/day) that I need to have the capability to dynamically update with expected attrition, holidays, new hires, reductions in hours due to school schedules, etc. with an outlook over the next year. Second: I also have a large database of projects that contains the expected work requirement (hrs/project) for each project with defined delivery dates. Separately, each of these seem to be possible to create and manage in Airtable. However, my challenge starts with the integration. I need the capability to start at Day X (let’s say it is June 1st), pull the projects that are due around that time, pull the daily work capacity around that time, work back from the delivery date of the project to determine the start date base
