Good morning, pretty new Airtable user, but liking it so far. I’m running into a challenge with this requirement: I need to take a list of sales managers, reference their staff, based upon multiple tiers, referencing the sales staff’s number of sales, and calculate a bonus amount for the sales managers. I’ve considered linked tables, scripts, and junction tables. I can’t SEARCH/FIND for this nor create an IF statement that’ll do it. I’m unsure how a Junction table would help, and haven’t really dug into the script block yet. Basically I need to find an employee ID in another record, as referenced in the “manager ID” field of the original record, and then pull data from another column (sales numbers). This would be trivial in a Google Sheet/Excel, but no go so far. Ideas would be much appreciated, with code examples if possible, thanks much!

Hello everyone, I am trying Airtable to prepare some reports. For this purpose, I need to create a graphs to represent month on month change in planned numbers as compared to actual numbers. For Exmaple, I have 5 projects, say - P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5. I have planned some hours on each project for May and June. I am also tracking my actual work hours on these. Hi everyone, This is my first post here. Hoping to get ideas that could solve my problem. Here’s my setup: I have a table where I upload CSV files to. Each row contains, among other information, a price and an attribution to both an item and a vendor. I decided to list the prices in rows and not in columns (as often seen in the forum). Existing records are merged by a unique value consisting of the vendor’s name and the item’s name. As you can imagine, there can be different prices for one item from different vendors. One item can “occupy” up to 5 rows. So although I only have 10’000 items, the limits of my base in PRO can easily be reached by this setup (by the way, if you have an idea how to set the whole thing up more effectively, please let me know :slightly_smiling_face: . To save space, I thought about only keeping the two lowest prices for each item. As for the more expensive prices, I want to create a view in which I can eas

From what I’ve read about the field permissions this isn’t possible, but I hope someone has found a workaround for this? Without Forms, preferably! On View 1 I’d like a field to be utilized by all. then as the workflow progresses and moves to view 2 this field is locked to prevent the user from making changes to the filed and so on.

I manage online content for multiple companies. I need a way to get feedback on content revisions from my client, but don’t want them to see any tables or data that is not specific to their company. For example: Company A has 12 items. I have a view in a table that is specific to this company’s items. I have edited two fields: 1. Title and 2. Description I need to give them visibility to these fields, in addition to about 6 others that are reference only and static, but I also want to give them the ability to give feedback in a “Client Comments” field. A shareable URL does not allow them to add “Client Comments”. I think I could do it in a form, but am not sure how to filter it such that the form is ONLY Client A and the items/fields/values that are displayed (Title and Description) are ONLY for Client A.

Hello, we have some inspectors out in the field and have recently upgraded their tablets and phones. Previously (on their older devices) the images they would upload were 1mb or less, wouldn’t take long to upload and wouldn’t use too much data. Now that we have upgraded (ipad mini’s and galaxy s10 for example) the photos are generally 5mb+ causing longer upload times and using all the data very quickly. Does anyone have ideas about how to make the photo quality lower? We don’t need high resolution photos. We have tried adjusting the resolution in the camera apps but they don’t go anywhere as small as the previous devices. I know there are ways to reduce the image size/quality after the photo is taken with other apps etc but that’s not really practical if they are taking 10-20 photos an hour and need to line the photos up with some other data when inputting into airtable. thank you in advance for any ideas.

I want to connect basic pageviews/unique pageviews from GA to our AirTable Editorial Calendar. The edit calendar has full URLs https://www.oursite.com/path. GA, of course, only has /path. How can I automate matching these records? Is there a way to bulk edit all URLs to insert or delete https://www.oursite.com? Something easier?

Hi - is it possible to color multiple columns using the conditional logic? For instance, we have 8 columns: Budget 1 Spend 1 Difference 1 Budget 2 Spend 2 Difference 2 When setting up the conditional logic, we’d love to be able to say “if the difference is less than x, make the field green.” If isn’t possible, are there any workarounds that you would suggest? I share different data with outside organizations. Should I setup a Base for each organization? If so, how would I track activity globally among all of the organizations in the same workspace?

I created a base for artists, all of whom will have multiple pieces of art listed. Each piece has an (attachment) image field, and 3 other text fields: price, dimensions, and medium associated with it. I need to link those fields (columns) together, but unique to each artist (listed in rows). (Otherwise, we won’t be able to match up the details to the art image, if not linked together). How do I do this?

Is there a way to write a formula that inserts the date when a change is made to a record? I would like to automatically show the date when I change a single select item from one selection to another. (I am changing from “in progress” to “closed” and I’d like to see the date I closed the record without having to remember to add that in a separate field).

I have a base that I’m using to track contractors, the projects they are working on, & all of the tickets they submit for payment. I have the project, contractor, and invoice tables all linked and that seems to be working fine. Each contractor will have multiple tickets per day that will be combined to generate one invoice at the end of the week. Would it be better for me to add a field for tickets and link it somehow or add a table for ticket information and then link that however?

How can I capture selected text using CSS selectors. The use case is that I want to capture some interesting lines/quotes from articles that I am reading. I tried using the ::selection however it does not seem to work. I am selecting the text manually myself so, it’s not that difficult to make a copy and do a paste after opening the extension. But having the selection populate automatically would be cool.

I’m wondering if anyone knows of a way to link information in an Airtable base to a clickable festival map? I help coordinate a fairly large science festival with several exhibitors, performers, and activities. We are hosting a virtual event this fall and would like to crate a “map” where people could click on a square/circle/whatever on the map, to lead them back to an Airtable base. Would the 3D block work or one of the integrations? Thanks in advance for any ideas/help you can offer!

I struggled with the title of this, so some clarification: We are an animal shelter that has switched from in-person applicant processing to entirely digital applicant processing for people interested in adopting animals from our care (due to COVID). We just started using AirTable for this purpose, and have a table filled with records of Applicants (that automatically creates a record upon a Google Form submission [Zapier integration]). We have another table filled with records of Animals in our care. Basically, we are placing people in virtual “lines” for specific animals they are interested in. Right now, we link these two types of records with three separate fields labeled First In-Line, Second In-Line, and Wait List. Example: If Dave wants Bella, and no one else is in line for Bella, Dave’s record is assigned “First In-Line” to Bella’s record. Then, if Jeff submits an application for Bella, and Dave is still first, Jeff’s record is assigned “Second In-Line” to Bell

Hi. I’m looking to replace Trello with Airtable, but I’m struggling with Link (URL) attachments. Firstly, I cannot drag web pages onto a card to create a link attachment, like I can in Trello. Secondly, and most importantly, when I create link attachments manually, there’s no way to follow the link. Clicking on the attachment just attempts to preview the link. There’s no option to follow the link from the preview either. What am I doing wrong?

I am looking for a developer to help build out an Airtable environment to use to manage our small group initiative at a synagogue. Key functions: Sign up/Request groups that have limited numbers of participants in each (or perphaps ranking choices and then assigning to the group) Assign people to small groups Allow group leaders to see who is in their group to communicate, track attendance, etc. Can you help?

Hello… I’m new to airtable. I have an app that’s synching my shopify inventory with airtable. I have exactly 50,000 products currently so I bought the pro plan allowing 50,000 records per base. However, it has stopped at 24,031. I was on the free promo plan so moved forward and entered my card for billing. But its still locked. Then I checked usage, and it shows me at 48,178 records. But my table only shows 24,031. Can someone enlighten me on what I’m missing and how to correct it? Thanks in advance for any insight. Dave

Hi! I am interested in feedback on how to achieve this use-case. People (Clients, with relationship fields like “Executive” or “Administrator”) Subsidiaries Parent Accounts Subsidiaries are linked to Parent Accounts. People are currently linked to Subsidiaries. For People records, a Lookup field automatically populates the Parent Account based on link between Parent Account and Subsidiary. Goal: I would like to be able to see a list of all my “Executive” People that roll up to a Parent Account. (I could manually link People to Parent Accounts, but it seems redundant since we already have them linked to the Subsidiary). Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Hi. I want to develop a Zap that will update me on a user progress based on their username. I have a table that tells me which user belongs to which group by name, and I have a table of info for each group. What I would like to do is search (in Zapier or Airtable) for the relevant table based on the user’s username and then update the record. Is there a way for me to do so? Or should I create a dedicated zap for each case? Thanks.

In my first table, I have Projects: A, B, C. They are single select tagged as Locations 1, 2, 3. They are tagged with Persons (a Linked Table). In my second (Linked) table, Persons. All the Projects are automatically combined into one column. Users will input data in the first table. In the second table, I need each Location to be a column header, so that each Project is parsed across those location columns. In short, I need the tags in the first table to be the column headers in the second table. Help would be appreciated!
