Hey all. I’ve searched a handful of times but can’t seem to find another example of what I’m trying to accomplish. I’m looking for some help with an automation or script that can automatically add the correct inquiry number. We do this manually and it’s slowing down our response time and ability to, well automate processes. Our inquiry numbers syntax: YY-NNN or an example: 21-846 The next inquiry would be 21-847. This being the two-digit current year as a prefix and then just an integer of the number of inquiries. As others have noted, the “Auto-Number” field is not sufficient. The field name is Number in Table RFQ where we’d like this new number to go automatically upon new record creation. Our inquiries mostly come from an airtable embedded form. Sometimes we manually enter them too.

I’m running a datediff formula but it’s not displaying the result I’m expecting. I would like the output to include the day itself. In other words if I’ve got a date range from 28 April to 30 April, for our purposes this is a 3 day event. DateDiff gives 2 days though. DATETIME_DIFF ({Date ended},{Date started}, ‘days’)&" days" Any thoughts?

I understand this is a known issue, but I’ve read several threads on the topic and tried a few solutions but still can’t figure out how to fix this. I have two fields of scores, one from a 2020 publication and one from an upcoming 2022 publication. I am trying to be able to show if the score is an improvement, worsening, or the same. The issue being that the score “0” is an acceptable input and the formula is recognizing 0 as blank instead. Hi, everyone. I have a question about Airtable API. As far as I know, Airtable API doesn’t allow direct image uploading and needs a public URL that images are stored. However, the images include very sensitive information in my case, so that they can’t be stored in public. In this case I guess I can use S3 presigned URL. My question is, can Airtable API retrieve images even if the URL is only temporarily available to public? Thanks, Ryo

My Airtable has purchase order data, and I need to be able to present a single page, multi line PO for records and vendors. I have an excel doc that will “make it pretty” for me, as long as the data is present. If I was the user I would just copy/paste, Save As and move on. The person who needs the PO is very computer illiterate, so I need a print button or similar to “make it go”. All I need is to copy the data from a specific view into the Excel doc (preferably a blank master doc) and then either have it automatically Save As or at least pop up the Excel program so Save As can be done manually. Since this is an instant trigger I don’t think I can use Zapier/Integromat for it. I know that there is a script on here for pulling data into a power query (sorry, am on mobile. link later), but that seems to be button in Excel doc, not button in Airtable. Is it possible/effective to try a script? Is there something else I don’t even know is an option? Thanks for the help.

I’m new to Airtable scripting but I have figured out quite a bit already. Using many different sources I have written a script that copies my task template into my task table bases on picking the name of the template you want to use. Now I’ve been asked to add some additional fields with different types and my script does not work anymore. I’m trying to write a simple IF statement in the CM Maturity Date column comparing the Policy Type field and outputting either a DATEADD function, if “Claims Made”, or a text string (“N/A”) if “Occurrence”: This is the formula that I currently have in CM Maturity Date that results in the above screen cap: IF({Policy Type} = ‘Claims Made’, DATEADD({Retro Date}, 5, ‘year’), “N/A”) For the Claims Made policy type, it should have added 5 years to the retro date. Hey all, Is anyone else having an issue with colors not showing on shared Gantt Chart views? This is an issue that just came up today that has not been an issue before. I have a Gantt Chart view showing a list of projects grouped and colored by their status (On Track=Green, Risk w/Mitigation=Yellow, etc). I have had this view shared for some time without issue, but today I was informed the bars in the Gantt chart are not showing color and are simply white… When I view the Gantt Chart view from my base, the bars are colored correctly in line with their status, but once I open the shared view link, the bars are white, not colored. I have changed the settings regarding the colors and have unshared/re-shared/generated a new link to no avail. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there any type of shortcut/hotkey to force a “sync now” in all tables in the base? I often find myself in a situation where I just updated a source base, and am now in the destination base waiting for another table to sync in that base. Thank you!

Hello everyone, I am new to Airtable although not to databases. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. I am trying to embed a View of a grid table on a web page. The table gives information about traditional fiddle tunes (name, key, etc.). I had no problem following the instructions and getting the iFrame code. I modified the code slightly to change the width from the default 533 to 1200. My website is being built with RapidWeaver 8.8.3 using Stacks 4.2.2 and Foundation 6.8.4. Everything went well, and when I published the page the View was there and all the controls worked. However, when I looked at the web inspector (using Safari on a Mac running Big Sur), there were some error messages (details shortly). I tried embedding the View on other pages, decreasing third-party involvement until finally I just uploaded an index.html page created in a text editor. The result was always the same: the View functioned just fine but there were error messages, always about the same.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to run an if() formula for a keyword in a lookup field. (see screenshots below) Im looking to return a ‘true’ or ‘false’ if it contains the word “Floorplan” however i believe that the lookup fields are not considered searchable by the formula as it is returning ‘false’ even when the parameters are meet? Can anyone confirm if my suspicions are true and if so how can i go about making the lookup field compatible so it returns the correct answer in my if() formula Thanks in advance

Hi there, I’m read lots of topics here on updating single select fields in Airtable, but none through Airtable Automations. My input is a formula that generates a status (UPCOMING, IN PROGRESS, SENT) and the desired output is to copy this value in a single select field (UPCOMING, IN PROGRESS, SENT). I’ve tried to run this via Airtable Automations with different triggers (When a record matches condition, when a record is created and when a record is updated) but none seems to work effectively even though the run history tells me the run was successful. Seems fairly easy and yet do not understand what does not work in my automation. Anyone out there has already done this?

please help me. I have 2 tables, one for sales and the other for stock. The inventory table receives data (customer id and product) that is informed via a bot every time the customer goes through a certain flow. however, I need this product to be counted only if the sale is made. In the sales table you will find the customer’s id. and this table is only fed if the customer makes the purchase. So basically I need a column in the inventory table that asks the following question: if the sales table has an ID equal to the inventory table then 1 if not 0.

Hi, all. I have a field (Original PD…which stands for Original Plant Date) and I want to add or subtract the “Adjustment” field to arrive at the calculated “Actual PD”. In the Actual PD field, I used a formula: DateAdd(Original PD, Adjustments, ‘Days’) and I get the resulting “Actual PD” field. The problem is the math is not adding/subtracting right. For example in the first record “BR14A”. I have an Original PD of 12/12/2020, an “Adjustment” of 3…which should give me 12/15/2020. Yet the formula is kicking out 12/16/2020. Any thoughts on jaw to get this right? Thanks for any help. Paul

I have a contact list where one of the fields is “Referred to…” to show how I got into contact with someone. What I want is a two-way link for “Referred to/by”, like so: Name | Referred To | Referred By --------------------------------------- Jim | Amy | Amy | | Jim Bob | | For example, if we have three names in the table, eg. Jim Amy Bob Jim introduced me to Amy, so have it as Jim | Amy Amy Bob The problem is, when I link Jim to Amy, I want another column that shows that same relationship in reverse, a “referred by…” field. So it would look like: Name | Referred To | Referred By --------------------------------------- Jim | Amy | Amy | | Jim Bob | | So far, I’ve been unsuccessful at doing this. I’ve tried using Lookup but it only finds itself. Any ideas?

I have a scenario where i lookup a list of values for an item in a google sheet and want to add them as complementary values in one multiselect field for the item in airtable. in the shown example these are 12 category values coming from gsheet, which should all be added in a multiselect field for the user in airtable. The lookup in google sheets and the JSON creation and parsing work as expected - I get a JSON with the categories like the one in the screenshot below: The update in airtable works as well - as long as I have the JSON list elements mapped individually as single entries for the multiselect field, like indicated here: The problem with this approach is, that if my Gsheet Lookup and resulting JSON send less list elements to airtable than I have specified in the integromat flow, the extra fields will be sent as “null” and this causes an error in the Scenario. Hi! I am building some QA into my Base, and have x4 date columns that I want to check all equal each other. To ensure the first x3 dates equal each other I have used: IF(AND({Date 1}={Date 2},{Date 2}={Date 3}),“Match”,“Not match”) I think that is right and seems to work well. This all works fine, but the issue I have is that the {Date 4} column doesn’t always have a value (intentionally), and hence I want to ignore it in the date comparison if not populated. i.e. if {date 1}={date 2}={date 3} but {date 4} is empty, the formula should still return “Match” to signify that all dates match. I’m sure this is very simple, but I’ve tried multiple different IF statements and quite simply can’t get it to work! Any help would be greatly appreciated :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks.

E.g. the combination of “Password” Object and its connection to “Write” and “Restore” Actions should create records with the fields “Write Password” and “Restore Password” in another table.
