I have destination table set up to sync all new fields created in source table but it is not happening. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi there – not new to Airtable, but new to scripting. I’d like to add a new row to a table (table:“Daily”) and set the primary field (column:“Date”) with tomorrow’s date, and run it every day. Simple, right? I suspect the best way to do this is set up a scheduled automation to, say, run each day at 7am, that creates a new row with tomorrow’s date. This would require declaring today’s date and tomorrow’s date in the correct format, either in the script or as an input config. I’ve poured through the documentation and these boards to find a simple way to do this, but am coming up short and appealing for the first time to the pros here for a little assistance. I’ve also tried to set this up as a simpler scheduled automation using the “Create record” action, but you can’t use a formula to declare the field value, either in the automation or as a computed field (e.g. declaring “Tomorrow” as a computed field in the row) Any advice on how to go about this seemingly simple task? Hi! I created an automation that, once a Single Select cell is updated, it will tag a Collaborator in another cell. However, I have to create one automation for each record. Is that right? Is there an easier way to do that? Thanks in advance!

Is it possible to fetch all records from the entire base without needing to pick a single table? I’m creating a To-Do list app that’s pretty much like the example provided by Airtable. We have multiple tables organized by “Offices” like for example “Development”, “Design”, “Marketing” and so on. Each record is a Task. Our goal is to simply display all Records in the App that are not marked as Completed so our manager can easily go through those tasks in one place. The useRecords method requires a Table to be passed as an argument so I thought of maybe looping through all tables and then fetching those records but then I figured that this would make the app not reactive… So… Is this possible? If not, do you have any suggestions of how I could accomplish this? We sure don’t want our manager to have to select which table he’ll be working on since that’s irrelevant to him… Thanks for your help!

Hello ! I am trying to calculate my margins on my projects. All my costs appear in the “Costs” box. I would like to add up all these costs in the next cell “total costs”. I have Table 1 with thousands of records. In Table 2, I want to summarize the data by linking the records and then using lookup fields to get specific info from each record all in a single cell. I’ve linked Table 1 to a field in Table 2, but to get all the records, I’d need to manually select each of the thousands of records to add them to the linked cell. Is there an easier way to do this? I made a dummy database and screen recording to illustrate what I’m trying to do, but instead of 4 records per “company,” imagine thousands. Thanks for any help.

When I first set up my base, I established one field, mistakenly, as single line text instead of a number. I recognized it with 100+ records in, and have lived with it ever since. Now I want to change the field type for this field from single line text to number, without losing the entries. I could probably sort the records by that field and add a new field as I want it, then add in all the new field entries, and last delete the old ones. Is there a faster or base-wide way to accomplish this? Many thanks.

Hi! I need assistance if possible! I have a table where I’m tracking information about a wave of people (table 1). I have another table where I have the names and individual information for those people. (table 2) I have a linked field connecting the names from table 2, to the wave on table 1. Part of the information on table 2 is a formula that rolls up from another table with possibilities of 0-51. I have a look up field bringing the numbers for each person into table 1 separated by commas and I can use Average() to get an average. BUT if there is no one linked, there are no numbers to average and it returns NaN. I would like it to either return 0 or stay blank. I have read previous articles but they mostly seem to focus on dates and I am using integers.

The view is shown as “Shared”. Every time I try to add a filter, I get warned that synced tables/bases will be affected. I want to find all the synced tables so I can change them to a different view that is specifically built for sharing. How do I find all the places a shared view is use? (If I rename the view, it gets reflected in all the other bases that sync it, but how do I find them all?)

Hey everyone! I have a database of customer feedback that I’ve compiled and categorized by theme. I’d like to extract the top 5 themes and show them as a bar graph. Additionally, I’d like to have an option to change the week # and the bar graph will adjust the top 5 themes accordingly. Is this possible on Airtable?

I try to use Max, but the result is zero… I used this formula : MAX({Starting date (from Activity journal)}) (first colum is Starting date, last colum is used for the formula) Data in “starting” column look OK, since is able to calculate the MinDate in the summary… Any idea ? Hi, I am trying to make a Button that will open a Gmail compose message screen that has the To, CC, BCC, and Subject fields pre-filled. The CC and BCC are static; To and Subject change depending on the record. Hi Trying to create a formula to show all records before an actual date but not say today, last week etc. Can see how to do if I want today etc but not an actual date Originally, wanted to created formula to show records that fall in my accounts year end so within date range of 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021 = 20/21. And to use for every year. Going around in circles to find! Can anyone help please?

I run a fleet, and we log trips data with relevant info (date, driver and vehicle#). I’d like a way to count ‘how many days a person/vehicle is active’, in a given date range. Generally, we would know this with the count function. But in this case, we only get the trips count, and not the active days count. Within a given date range, I need a formula to calculate how many days a driver was active (has atleast 1 trip/day). how many days a vehicle was active (has atleast 1 trip/day). Just couldn’t find a solution to this simple requirement, however hard I try to find. Is there a way to do this? Any ideas are welcome. Cheers

I have created this formula that will set the duration when something is selected: SWITCH( {Select}, ‘Code Review’, 1200, ‘Design Review’, 1200, ‘Resume Review’, 1200, ‘Career Coaching’, 1800, ‘Team Coaching - Design’, 3600, ‘Team Coaching - Code’, 3600, 1200 ) It is then connected to another formula field to create and End Time: DATEADD({Time}, {Duration}, ‘seconds’) However, the time I get returned is 5 hours later not the minutes I have added. Anyone have a suggestions.

Hi Everyone, I’m currently working on what feels like it should be a relatively simple formula, but I’m consistently getting a #ERROR! result when I try to implement it. Context is: I have a table that lists students’ work experiences, their start dates and end dates. I want a filtered list of records where either the start date or end date was in the month before the previous month. e.g. if I was looking at it at the end of May, I’d want to see all work experience that started or ended in the month of April. I am trying to prefill a form field from a long text field with rich text enabled. The rich text does not carry through to the form and is rendered as plain text. I have check boxes in the text that I would like to carry through to the form - is this possible? Help hugely appreciated!

I’m trying to us the example script, and keep getting: airtable recordid should be a string, not undefined I am using the script as is, except I changed the table name on line 2. I followed instructions on how to configure input variables using the left panel. I added recordID field to my table, using the recordID function in formula field. When that didn’t work, I changed to a short text field, preserving the generated record ID values, but I still got this error. I’m out of ideas. Is anyone experiencing odd problems with view controls (filters, sorting, etc.)? They’re suddenly not working correctly in my bases, and none of my records are appearing at all when any filter is applied. Only if a view is unfiltered can I see any records. I’ve recorded a Loom video and sent it to support, but I’m curious if this is isolated to my account, or if it’s something more widespread.

Newbie here. Are attachments/photos linked to the original place when they were attached? i.e. If I have a folder on my hard drive called XXX and that folder contains photos. I attach my photos to my table. Do I need to leave those photos in the folder on my hard drive?

Hi, I’ve been using Airtable to manage and automate registrations for events. I set automation to confirm the registration. The trigger was a “When a record is created”, i.e. when someone completed the registration form. After the event, I did not switch the automation off, and I inserted a new column into the same sheet to indicate who participated in the event (checkbox). Problem: Registered people who could not participate at the event complained about receiving my automated message confirming his/her registration after the event a second time. Previously, I assumed a record was when someone completed my form. Please help me to understand what happened. If the inserted new column was a new record/trigger, why only just a part of registered people received the automated? With thanks

Hello there, I have been using Airtable for a few years now and I absolutely love it. I am creating a basic HR system for a startup and I want to create a formula for the employees’ paid leaves. Basically, each employee should receive 2 days off for every month they work for. it should be added by the end of each month. How do I automatically make it add up in Airtable, using the joining date only? Is there a formula for that? Thanks in advance.
