Hello! Does anyone know a way that I can use a formula to convert a year to a decade? Forgive me if this is simple, I am new to formulas… Thanks!

Hi Trying to create a formula to show all records before an actual date but not say today, last week etc. Can see how to do if I want today etc but not an actual date Originally, wanted to created formula to show records that fall in my accounts year end so within date range of 1 April 2020 and 31 March 2021 = 20/21. And to use for every year. Going around in circles to find! Can anyone help please?

I run a fleet, and we log trips data with relevant info (date, driver and vehicle#). I’d like a way to count ‘how many days a person/vehicle is active’, in a given date range. Generally, we would know this with the count function. But in this case, we only get the trips count, and not the active days count. Within a given date range, I need a formula to calculate how many days a driver was active (has atleast 1 trip/day). how many days a vehicle was active (has atleast 1 trip/day). Just couldn’t find a solution to this simple requirement, however hard I try to find. Is there a way to do this? Any ideas are welcome. Cheers

I have created this formula that will set the duration when something is selected: SWITCH( {Select}, ‘Code Review’, 1200, ‘Design Review’, 1200, ‘Resume Review’, 1200, ‘Career Coaching’, 1800, ‘Team Coaching - Design’, 3600, ‘Team Coaching - Code’, 3600, 1200 ) It is then connected to another formula field to create and End Time: DATEADD({Time}, {Duration}, ‘seconds’) However, the time I get returned is 5 hours later not the minutes I have added. Anyone have a suggestions.

Hi Everyone, I’m currently working on what feels like it should be a relatively simple formula, but I’m consistently getting a #ERROR! result when I try to implement it. Context is: I have a table that lists students’ work experiences, their start dates and end dates. I want a filtered list of records where either the start date or end date was in the month before the previous month. e.g. if I was looking at it at the end of May, I’d want to see all work experience that started or ended in the month of April. This is the formula I’ve written: IF( OR( AND( {Start Date}>(DATEADD(TODAY(),-60,’days’)), {Start Date}<(DATEADD(TODAY(),-30,’days’)) )=1 , AND( {End Date}>(DATEADD(TODAY(),-60,’days’)), {End Date}<(DATEADD(TODAY(),-30,’days’)) )=1 ) =1,TRUE(),FALSE()) As I said, I’m getting a consistent error message on this formula. I am trying to prefill a form field from a long text field with rich text enabled. The rich text does not carry through to the form and is rendered as plain text. I have check boxes in the text that I would like to carry through to the form - is this possible? Help hugely appreciated!

I’m trying to us the example script, and keep getting: airtable recordid should be a string, not undefined I am using the script as is, except I changed the table name on line 2. I followed instructions on how to configure input variables using the left panel. I added recordID field to my table, using the recordID function in formula field. When that didn’t work, I changed to a short text field, preserving the generated record ID values, but I still got this error. I’m out of ideas. Can someone help? “TypeError: Invalid arguments passed to recordQueryResult.getRecord(recordId): • recordId should be a string, not undefined” TIA, Sharon

Is anyone experiencing odd problems with view controls (filters, sorting, etc.)? They’re suddenly not working correctly in my bases, and none of my records are appearing at all when any filter is applied. Only if a view is unfiltered can I see any records. I’ve recorded a Loom video and sent it to support, but I’m curious if this is isolated to my account, or if it’s something more widespread.

Newbie here. Are attachments/photos linked to the original place when they were attached? i.e. If I have a folder on my hard drive called XXX and that folder contains photos. I attach my photos to my table. Do I need to leave those photos in the folder on my hard drive?

Is there a way to embed an Airtable into a Mailchimp newsletter? I am trying to get rid of the “click here” in the newsletter and just have the table itself show up in the newsletter. Thanks!

Hi, I’ve been using Airtable to manage and automate registrations for events. I set automation to confirm the registration. The trigger was a “When a record is created”, i.e. when someone completed the registration form. After the event, I did not switch the automation off, and I inserted a new column into the same sheet to indicate who participated in the event (checkbox). Problem: Registered people who could not participate at the event complained about receiving my automated message confirming his/her registration after the event a second time. Previously, I assumed a record was when someone completed my form. Please help me to understand what happened. If the inserted new column was a new record/trigger, why only just a part of registered people received the automated? With thanks

Hello there, I have been using Airtable for a few years now and I absolutely love it. I am creating a basic HR system for a startup and I want to create a formula for the employees’ paid leaves. Basically, each employee should receive 2 days off for every month they work for. it should be added by the end of each month. How do I automatically make it add up in Airtable, using the joining date only? Is there a formula for that? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am using the CSV import app to update my airtbale base, but one of the values from the CSV keeps returning this message when trying to save the records “The following values won’t be imported”. The value is a percentage, and I tried to change the format in excel to number, general, percentages… but no matter what I do, the same message comes. Does anybody know why the value is not recognized?

Grades table is a junction table linking Classes and Students tables. For example, would it be possible to automatically feed the performance of the individual social media posts (on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest) back to the Airtable sheet? I am using Airtable to send data through to another platform (Formstack Docs aka Webmerge). My base has a main record with a number of linked records per main record. The use case is that each item from the linked records will be a new row on a document. In order to do that, I need to send the data through to the document in JSON. Is there a way that I can produce the JSON of the linked records with a script within Airtable? Ideally I could put that JSON into a long text field. Failing that, is using a code step in Zapier the only other option? Thanks Shaun

The situation: I’m setting up an attendance function on a sheet. Name, date, checkbox. Easy. I need other uses to be able to click that checkbox as well as myself. The problem: Any other user has to be promoted to the level of “Editor” to click the checkbox. We’re a really small non-profit and I just realized that promoting six people to editor so that they can check a box is gonna charge us … a lot. I’ve already emailed support to say “Whoops! Please don’t charge me for my idiocy.” The solution? Obviously, I could do this quickly in, say, Google Sheets. But my data in Airtable is synced, so the pool of possible attendees is live and could grow or shrink depending on data in another sheet. I can’t afford to promote 6 folks to editor for a few months while we are in-season. Is there a way around this? Is there a way to create a front-facing document where a user can click that checkbox without them being an editor? I feel like I could turn this into a form that has all the possibilitie

Hello! For a school assignment (Software Development and Design) I am creating a game and using airtable as the online highscores database. So far its been working really well, as soon as one of my friends completes a run a record is added to my records table and it can be sorted so that I can see who is ontop of the leaderboard. The only issue with my current setup is that it has become hard to see any of the other players becuase a few particular users have filled up the top 300 slots or so as shown in the image. (Please ignore my friends “creative” choice of usernames) So what I think would be a good solution would be to either 1) Have another view/table that only shows the best run for each username or 2) remove/hide all of the runs that are not the best run Thanks, Tom Howarth

how can i show linked records for a selected table record that changes dynamicly when i select/deselect rows? i can get selected row ids from cursor, but i am struggling to to select and show linked recods

I noticed three records missing from a table, which had been created via an API call. The API call response indicated success, including a response object containing the same number of records (and with recIDs) as had been POSTed in the call. However, these records do now not appear in Airtable. There is no record of manual deletion in the base trash, and the view is not filtered. I was wondering what could be going on and so decided to look at an automated Airtable snapshot taken on the same day. The records were not in the snapshot, but I did notice that the snapshot was taken at the exact same minute that the API record creation POST call was made for the missing three records. Is it possible that the snapshot process has interfered with the record creation call in some way (perhaps a DB transaction lock or similar), resulting in the Airtable API response to prematurely report successful creation?
