Hey all, I am trying to generate a date in a formula field by using the data from two other fields. -I need the formula to read the datum in the {End Date (Current)} field, determine if it’s blank and then if it is not. want it to then calculate the date based off ANOTHER field {Days Notice to Cancel}. And if it is blank I want it to say “1”. So far I feel like the below formulas need to communicate but I am not sure how to combine them to make them talk properly. (however, any suggestions are helpful, even a whole other formula combination). IF({End Date (Current)}, “field is not empty” DATEADD({End Date (Current)},-{Days Notice to Cancel},‘days’) IF({End Date (Current)}, “field is empty”, “1” TYIA!

Hello wonderful Airtable community, I am working on an email automation that will report on student progress through a variety of courses. I have each course listed as a single-select field, then the possible grades listed as the options to select. I want to send an email report that shows these grades: Class 1: {GRADE} Class 2: {GRADE} My problem is that no matter what options I select when building the automation, the GRADE field shows up blank. I maxed out 500 fields. It’s disappointing cause I didn’t know about it or I missed it wherever it’s mentioned. At least the Account overview should warn me earlier I am maxing out the number of fields. It doesn’t say anything about that. Now I have to spent days and days to redesign the table, maybe weeks… I have lots of fields primarily because of many complex formulas I have. I rather do multiple steps with formulas so that it’s easier to fix them or update them, given how unhelpful the formula editor is in Airtable. Now I will have to fold many of these fields together to free some space. I have alone 30 fields taken up with formula to generate separate URLs for attachments in the attachment fields (Yes I know there is an addon)… and so on. If I sound a bit frustrated, yes I am. That’s SILLY this 500 fields limit. If it was 1000, fine. But I would have thought maybe 5000 or unlimited. I have lots of formulas and dozens of automations… It will take me weeks to fix this. I feel like I’m close with this one, but it’s not quite working. I want to show quarters of the year, so if a column equals “January 2021”,“February 2021”, “March 2021”, I want it to show “January - April 2021”, and so on for each quarter. I’ve attempted it with IF(OR), but it’s not working. Appreciate any tips here. I am trying to create a view based on rooms and multiple items within that room. Is there a way for me to just output the room number once at the top and then the related records for that room beneath? Currently, i have it grouped by room in view, and the records just show up in rows with the room number on each. Hello everyone! I’ve got several cols (days of the week) that have a time that I wasted in doing a task in minutes (ex: 120). All that I’m trying to do is a SUM of this minutes but in a h:mm format. Example: The task is “Book Design” and the minutes I’ve spent in doing that task are (120, 120, 60, 60, 30). The SUM of that minutes is 390… that’s 6:30 hours. All I want to have is this number 6 and I don’t know how to get it. Thanks in advance!

Hopefully this is a simple one and I explain this correctly: I have a table of products containing several fields, including: unique product ID and price. (Let’s call this the primary table) I am using the Data Fetcher Airtable app to pull updated product information from an API into a separate table in the same base. (Let’s call this the secondary table). This also contains a unique product ID and price I want to fetch the price in the secondary table and update the relevant price field in the primary table, using the product ID to ensure the correct item is updated. If these were two tabs in Excel, I would just use a vlookup to look up the id and return the price. However I can’t figure out how to get this to work in Airtable. Any advice much appreciated. For info - the two tables do have a name field, containing the name of the product, however the names in the primary & secondary tables don’t always match, so I cannot use this field to match an item. I have one table - ‘Feedback’ - where each row is a bit of customer feedback, and each bit of feedback has a column for ‘Insight’ (i.e. what type of problem it is) and another column for ‘CSAT score’ (ranging from 1-5). I have another table - ‘Insights’ - which lists all the insights from the feedback table in the first column (these are linked). What I want to do is calculate the average CSAT score for each insight. I have managed to create a new column in the insights table entitled ‘CSAT Score (from Feedback)’ which looks up the CSAT scores from the other table and presents them for each insight, separated by a comma. What I then want to do is create another column which averages these scores. However, when I used the formula average({CSAT Score (from Feedback)}, I get the error message shown below. I’m running a scripting app that loops through all the records in my Airtable using await table.updateRecordAsync() in a few fields, including a single-select field. Every once in a while, through human error or something else, we’ll wind up passing something to the script that makes it try to update the single-select field with some value that isn’t one of the options for that field. Right now what that does is cause the script to throw an error and abort entirely. What I’d like to do is have it throw an error message and continue on to the next record in the table. What’s the best way to go about this? I’ve created a simple table to inventory my card supplies. After creating I decided to make changes and combine two columns into one, then I deleted the no longer need rows. I now realize that I should not have deleted the rows but should have left them empty for reuse. My question is…when I want to create a new row is there any way that I can re-use a deleted row ID?

I’m building a database to track uniform assignments for the local high school marching band. I have one table for students, another for the jackets, another for the pants, and so on. In the Students table, I have a field using the link to another record option linking to a jacket. I’ve been careful to make sure to not Allow linking to multiple records. I’ve then gone into the Jackets table, and made sure to not Allow linking to multiple records. What I can still do, however, is assign the same jacket to multiple students. And when I go to the Jackets table, I can see that the same jacket is assigned to two people. I would love to have this set up in such a way so that once a jacket is assigned to one student, it is not allowed to be assigned to a second one. Is there a way to do this?

Hi, I want to write a formula that will return ‘Yes’ if a record has been modified before a specific time of day. I have my team ticking a checkbox, which if checked before a certain time will mean a yes result. If the tick box is ticked after that time the result is no. I’m using the ‘last modified time’ field type as the time stamp to use in the formula I tried Is_Before with TimeSTR but not sure about how to specify the deadline time. Any thoughts?

I’m running issues when running block release to deploy my Airtable app. I’m using npm workspaces as I develop my Custom Airtable App since I’m using a monorepo to make code management and sharing convenient. Here’s the basic folder structure for my project: project_root/ packages/ - houses workspaces common/ contains code shared by airtable_app and server workspaces package name: @shoptable/common airtable_app/ - contains the airtable block app server/ - another workspace Here are the steps I take before running block release: npm i from project_root cd packages/airtable_app block release I run into the following error: building copying package.json file copying package-lock.json file ❌ Error: package-lock.json does not exist! Failed to build the block code! There’s only a package-lock.json generated at the project_root level. How can I get around this issue with my development environment? Current Workaround The only way I’ve found that works is to run npm pack

I have an if statement that adds 2 different types of fields together (Lookup and Currency). I cannot format the lookup field to become a currency field and I think that because of that, I cannot do any mathematical operations between the 2 fields. Is there a work around to this? I’ve tried concat-ing a “$” in to the Lookup but no such luck. Thanks

There are two linked tables: Posts (ie. an index of blog posts, with dates) Companies (a list of companies who author blog posts) Companies already has a Count field column to display the total Posts by given Company. However, I’d like also to count the posts by Company within the last seven days. One view of Posts is filtered to show records with dates within the last week. But how do I utilise this or similar on the Companies table? Thanks.

I’ve seen a couple of postings that sort of sound similar so apologies if this is elsewhere and I couldn’t find it! I have a table, “Requests”, that is filled in by a form. When a new record comes in, an admin will review the submission and then check a box to trigger a welcome email. I’d like to be able to attach a PDF (always the same PDF) in the welcome email. I don’t want to pull this PDF from each record because that will eat away at our space (and because it’s always the same PDF), so I’ve placed this PDF in another table (called “Resources”) in the same base. I’ve set up an automation that: Triggers when an admin checks the “Send Welcome Email” box in the “Requests” table Does a “Find Records” on the “Resources” table to find the attachment I want But I think this method is failing because it sees it purely as a reference and not as the actual PDF. I wrote the codes as below: IF({Priority of task} = OR("Emergency","Important","Urgent"), SWITCH({Days until deadline},3,"3️⃣",2,"2️⃣",1,"1️⃣",0,"‼️"),"This is not an important task") But the result is that all tasks shows “This is not an important task” even the priority is emergency. I wonder is it due to the misuse of OR() in the formula? Can OR() be used like IF(… = OR(…, …, …) , … , … ) this way? Thanks.

Hi, I’d like the date/time to be recorded based on the result of a formula but can’t seem to make this work. My formula basically compares two quantities (both numbers of course) and evaluates to “LOW” or “OK” depending the threshold I’ve set. I want another column to capture the date/time only if the formula results to LOW, but can’t seem to make this work. Things I’ve tried. Had the second column evaluate to NOW() if the the previous column formula result is “LOW”. This doesn’t help because as long as the prev. column stays as “LOW”, the date/time column keeps updating the timestamp based on NOW(). I only want a static timestamp of when the formula evaluated that to low. I tried to use the LAST_MODIFIED_TIME(), but that cannot work on fields that are automatically calculated such as a formula field. How would I accomplish this? Thank you.
