so this is my current Formula - IF({Sold Platform}=“GOAT”,{Unit Sold Price}-({Unit Sold Price}*.095)-5,"") I am trying to have this result in a $dollar amount. I’ve looked through the community pages but I’m struggling to get the desired result. Can anyone help?

I have STARTTIME, DURATION,CALCULATEDENDTIME and ENDTIME fields. After entering values for STARTTIME and DURATION, the CALCULATEDENDTIME adds the two. My automation is setup to trigger when a value is entered into DURATION, and copy CALCULATEDENDTIME to ENDTIME . Here is the problem: automation does not read the complete data entry, just it’s first typed digit!!! The CALCULATEDENDTIME does the DATEADD with each digit I type- ONE DIGIT AT A TIME!!!, and automation thinks I’m done. Example-if my STARTTIME is 12:00 and DURATION is ‘60’ minutes: CALCULATEDENDTIME changes to 12:06 immediately upon typing the first digit of the DURATION (the ‘6’), the automation then triggers and assumes the CALCULATEDENDTIME is complete. I continue typing the DURATION (‘0’), but the trigger is already executed. Any suggestions to have it work with the complete entry?

Hi, guys! I couldn’t find a Roadmap for Airtable (I suppose it doesn’t exist) and I’d like to know if Airtable has plans to add financial formulas to the current list of formulas. I have a table where I collect some financial indicators and I’d like to do some basic calculations like standard deviation, variance, etc. I can’t do that in Airtable and I have to use Excel for that. I know Airtable isn’t a spreadsheet, but I hope developers could add more functionalities….

Howdy folks. I have a table I’ve pasted some data into. One of the fields is certainly text, but if I reference it with T(), it says it is not. If I select the cell, there are no other characters hidden or otherwise. If I delete the contents with backspace and retype exactly, it is magically text. Any thoughts?

Hi All - I’m stuck and could use a bit of guidance for my project management. I currently have a table with my projects, which is linked to my clients table. Once a project moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ I want to be able to select a workflow and then the tasks that are specific to each workflow would populate. I have my automations set up and while they are working, something is a bit ‘broken’ and I’m not sure how best to fix. To be a bit more granular, I have: Clients table Projects table Tasks table I’m wondering if it makes sense to have a junction table for the workflow and each workflow’s specific tasks? If so, suggestions on linking everything together? Because here’s where I am running into an issue and not sure how to best approach and fix – Let’s say Project A moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ and I select Workflow 1. My automation triggers and all of the tasks for Workflow 1 automatically populate. Then I realize that Workflow 2 is actually more appropriate for this

I previously used the Gantt app within a dashboard. The app allowed the user to click into a record on the Gantt app and edit the record. The user could also drag the bar on the app interface to set dates or duration for the record. After the Gantt app was changed to a view, we could no longer use the Gantt app. Instead we used the Embed app to make a Gantt view visible within a Dashboard. This works reasonable well with one exception. The user can click on the record and view the contents, just that no-one can edit the record nor drag the bar to change the dates. Is there a work around to make embedded view behave like the older Gantt app?

Hi, I am in need of some guidance on a formula. I have two columns that I am comparing against each other - basically determining the dollar difference between the two and then the % difference that amounts to. Once that is figured out, I want to grade the resulting % as pass or fail, but I want to do it as a range. Here is an example: A) Final Estimate: $10,000.00 B) Preliminary Estimate: $9,000.00 C) Difference in $: ($1,000.00) D) Difference in %: (10%) Here is where I need a formula: IF the result of D is within a range of 10% under to 10% over the Final Estimate then the grade would be “Pass”. IF the result is either more than 10% below or over 10% above the Final Estimate, then the result is “Fail”. So I want to allow a spread of 10% each way off of matching the numbers as allowable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey all, I’m trying to build a formula right now that generates copy based on various fields, specifically a date field. Some of these values have a date and others do not. Whenever I try to build the formula using DATETIME_FORMAT({Presale Start}, "ddd, M/D") values that don’t have a date show as #ERROR!. That being said, I tried using an IF statement but it won’t even save the formula. Can’t tell what I’m going wrong but this is the latest version I’ve tried to use: IF({Presale Start}=BLANK(), “0“, IF{Presale Start}!=BLANK(), DATETIME_FORMAT({Presale Start}, "ddd, M/D") Any help would be much appreciated!

Hey all, I’ve run into an interesting problem with AirTable. I have an automation script thats finds all records from today and emails those records with the “Render as HTML Grid” option. Some field values are truncated, and I couldn’t find a way to affect the row size or CSS rules that are causing this to happen. For example: For example, there’s a parent <div> that wraps the table enforcing a max-width of 1000px (and overflow-x: auto!) and inside of each <td> element, there’s rules for a max-width of 250px and overflow: hidden. Parent <div> of table: <td> rules: Since I can’t modify AirTable’s restrictive CSS, can anyone give me some recommendations on how to work around this with 3rd party apps or Zapier integrations to use for this specifically? The truncated table text is the only real problem I have here. :open_mouth:

Hopefully one of you amazing pros can help me resolve an issue with a nested IF Formula that isn’t quite doing what I hoped it would. I have four individual products (Line Item #1 through to Line Item #4) and if they are ‘Espresso Blend’ I’d then like their total weight {Total Coffee Weight (G)} to be added together to give me the total amount of Espresso Blend across all of the products combined. For reasons I can’t quite understand the below formula isn’t very happy when the Line Item isn’t Espresso Blend. Rather than throwing the desired ‘0’ into the calculation it is cancelling out everything but the first item to include Espresso Blend. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hi, I have an automation set up to post in slack when a new record is created. When I test the automation, it posts correctly, but when I set the automation live and manually create a new record it does not post. I updated the automation this morning to use the new Form Submitted feature (which is really what we wanted originally) but the same issue occurs: the testing posts, but it does not work when live and a User submits a form. Any thoughts?

Hello! I have a table tracking agent info and testing statuses, and I need to create a Current Status and a Current Date & Time field. Imagine a table where (among other things) you have 6 fields, 3 single-selects and 3 date & time fields. Each pair of single-selects & date & time fields represents a testing attempt. So we have 1st Attempt Status, 1st Attempt Date & Time, 2nd Attempt Status, 2nd Attempt Date & Time, 3rd Attempt Status, & 3rd Attempt Date & Time. I need a formula/automation that always shows the current status & date & time of the current attempt. Preferably into 2 fields, 1 for the current status and 1 for the current date & time. I am sending URL’s from Webflow which does not have URL validation easily integrated. I want to check and add the https:// to the beginning of the URL if it is not present when the field is created or updated. I have been looking through to forums but can’t seem to find an exact match. Would love some help with this please.

I’m finding unexpected behavior when sorting on a single select data lookup field. In the source table the HT Location is a single lookup field. I have the field values ordered in the “customize field type” control (note Dairy case in in blue before Bakery in green.): In the source table the sort behaves as expected (note Dairy case before Bakery.) The unexpected behavior is in the list table that references the source table. There’s a linked table field, and a lookup on the “HT Locations” field, which is then sorted. Here the order is different, with Bakery coming before Dairy case. I tried making a duplicate of the list table; it duplicated the odd sort behavior. I made a new table, added the same link and lookup fields, and it looked like this table sorts the look up field alphabetically – except for paper supplies – not the order of the look up fields Argh. Ideas?

Hi, I need to determine which of my projects were active in the previous month, and also active in the past 12 months. For the previous month, if we are now in June, I want to see which records were active in May (so I’m not looking for specific dates). For each record I’m looking at, I have a project start and project end which I can use to see when a project was active. So somehow I need to see if the previous month is within those project start and end dates. And ditto for the previous 12 months. I tried to find the answer here in the community and spent a lot of time looking at Airtable date functions, but I can’t seem to figure it out. Thanks in advance!

My use-case is that I want to send a slack message when a record is created. The reason I am not using the built-in Slack Message automation is that I want to customize the Slack Message using Attachments and Blocks features. I am wondering what is the best practice to get your SLACK_TOKEN from the Script itself. Is there a built-in variable that holds it? Should I use input variable or should I just assign the token to a variable? how safe it is? Thanks in advance!

I know locking the column will prevent users from editing/deleting data from a row - but will this also prevent someone from deleting the entire column?

I have a custom solution that automates adding a linked record and auto-filling some fields, and the app is wired to a button. Every time the button is pressed, the sidebar opens to the app. I imagine this is totally expected behavior, and desirable for most custom app implementations, but is there any way to get the app to run “in the background” without opening the sidebar? I’ve noticed, for instance, that if someone clicks the button from the expanded record view, rather than directly from the grid, the sidebar goes full screen and my user testing shows people are getting confused by this takeover and having trouble finding their way back to their original context. Can we just prevent the sidebar from opening somehow?

Hi. I’ve been racking my brain for hours with something that was supposed to be simple. I have a tab called “customers” with my customers’ name and phone number. on this tab there are two columns that are the registration and name of the last barber who attended them. The calls are registered in the “Schedules” tab I would like that with each new appointment, the registration and name of the last barber who made the service to be changed. The common key between the two tables is the customer’s phone number. Can someone help me ?

Help please! I created a ‘Create Record’ automation with the following trigger: When a record matches conditions in table 1, it creates a record in table 4. (Works Fine) The problem is with the record it CREATES in table 4. It’s doing exactly what I want when it runs the test, but when I create a NEW record in table 1 that matches the conditions (triggering the action of creating the record in table 4), it’s filling in the field in table 4 with ONLY the first letter of the word(s) it’s supposed to be inserting. I cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong :weary: Any help is so appreciated!!!

I think I already know the answer (tables aren’t the same as spreadsheets so you can’t copy cells, only records), but wanted to post in the off chance someone can suggest a possible work around. Trying to copy a formulated date from one table to another so I can produce a gantt for each record in my base.
