I’m pretty new to Airtable & formulas. Was hoping someone could help me find a solution to cleaning up data for a phone field. I’m pulling data from multiple sources and while most numbers are formatted consistently, there are a few outliers I want to be sure to account for. Most common format: Dirct: XXX-XXX-XXXX A decent number also have an extension on the end in the format of " ext. X" , which are always one character. Some other formats that throw things off: There are just a few that are entered as (XXX) XXX-XXXX A handful of others that are Cell: XXX-XXX-XXXX And a small percentage that include multiple phone numbers as Dirct: XXX-XXX-XXXX, Dirct: XXX-XXX-XXXX My goal: If there are two phone numbers listed, I’d like to move the second one into a new column for an additional phone field. Hi, I want to know how to the change the avatar background color. As you can see in the attached screenshot, two of the collaborators have the same background color for their avatar icons. Apart from updating the picture, can I change the background color to differentiate them? Thank you. Victor

I have imported our Google Analytics data through AirFlow and would like to convert the Hour of Day to the correct format. The way GA has it formatted is “2021070100”, which is 7/1/2021 at 12:00 AM. Is there a formula I can use to get the desired outcome? Thanks!

Hello! I am using LEN({Long Text}) to count the number of characters in a text field. I also see how to use this to display a symbol depending on if its under or over: IF(LEN({Long Text})>280, “ :x: ”, “ :white_check_mark: ”) How do I combine these in one field? So it would show the character count, and also the symbol for over or under? Thanks for any help!

Hello! I’m looking to link my bases for an art history research project, and one of the ones that would be helpful is to make the life dates of the artists actual dates, instead of having them as a “Single Line of Text” category like I do now. The problem is I can’t figure out if it’s possible to include text like “ca.” (or “around”) to date fields. Do you have any suggestions? I suppose if someone lived in “the early 19th century,” I could put 1800–1850 as specific dates. The other issue is I just want years, not days and months. If I can figure out how to do all of this, I could make an interactive timeline showing the overlaps of artists’ lifetimes! That would be fantastic.

Hi All, I am trying to get a function to enter the current date when I change the status to done but I want the date to stay static and I cant figure out what date function to use for this. Here is what I have: IF(Status=“Done”, DATETIME_FORMAT(TODAY(),“DD/MM/YYYY”), BLANK()) Now when I changed one item to “Done” yesterday it put in yesterdays date but when I logged in today it had todays date instead. I figured this would happen but don’t know what to put where I have “TODAY()” to get this to work. Can anyone help me with this?

Hello there , Is there any way to create conditional select fields in airtable? I want to change select option values for one select field on the basis of another select field dynamically. For instance I have 3 dropdowns A, B and C . A has 10 values , If I select 1 value in A select field , B field should display content related to A field and similarly C field should display the content related to B field. Is it feasible in airtable .I have tried to use views to achieve this but there are a number of options related to each field , so it will be quite troublesome to create view for each possible combination. Is there any alternative that we can make use of to achieve the end result? Hi, I am planning to recommend Airtable to my client for the coming project. We have a few automation tasks which Airtable has been proved to be the best tool. While Airtable provides powerful automation/scripting abilities, I am wondering is it possible to access the webhook headers as well in addition to the body/payload. Thank you!

Hi there! I have an automation Where ‘Send Date’ is ‘Today’. It does not have a time field and currently sends at middnight. If it did have a Time Field, would it send at the time that is in that field, or would it still default to Midnight? I saw this solution, but I’m curious if adding a time resolves this.

Hi, I’m a new user here and trying to create a basic order creation and tracking system. I have a field called Clients and another called client orders as attached above. Basically every time a user enters client name in the order tracking form, I need to generate a new order id in the format of. CUSTOMERNAME/1 and so the next time his name is added on the client order list it generates CUSTOMERNAME/2. I created a field called Latest order Number in the Clients table to act as a counter. I was trying to figure out how to increment the counter corresponding to that client when that client name is selected in the Client Order page. I tried the automate feature on trigger, but it wont allow me to update a record in another table or apply any math formula on it. Is this possible to through a script? Appreciate any help on how to do this. Thanks.

I have 2 bases, one collects data from a form (Form DB) and one that I’d like to use as a master client database (Client DB) for individual companies we do business with. Since the form may be filled out multiple times by one company I’m trying to use an automation to review the Client DB when a form is submitted and if the company is not already there, to add it. Unfortunately companies are being added to the Client DB even though they are already on that list. The following is my set up. Are my conditions wrong? Is my understanding of how the sequence works incorrect? Trigger Type: When a form is submitted Table: Form DB Form: Reg Form Find Records Table: Client DB Find records based on: Condition Conditions *Where > Client Name > Is Not > Client Name (Step 1: Trigger) Create Record Table: Client DB Any help on why this might be creating the duplicates is appreciated.

Will there be any impact to our bases if we remove a billable collaborator who created and maintained said bases? If we remove a billable collaborator, will the system delete or alter some of the information tied to their account?

I am using GET to retrieve data from a table in a base. Rather than getting all the records, I would like to get the records filtered by a view. Despite having created a formula field to format my date, it is still sending this format to slack in automation message: 2021-07-31T10:00:00.000Z (which you can see in the screenshot is still the only selectable property in the automation wizard. The date format in my formula field displays correctly like Thursday, November 19, 2020 3:00 PM. What am I missing? My formula is configured as DATETIME_FORMAT(Start, ‘LLLL’)

I want to create a table to calculate my cost of goods, for products that I make. I have a table with the list of products and their RRP. Another table with a list of expenses, ie labour cost, packaging cost, materials cost etc I want to have a third table that takes (product RRP) - (total costs) = profit For example (candle $59) - (wax $2, vessel $5, packaging $3, labour $10) = $39 I’m very new to tables and formulas, so it may be easy and obvious. Unfortunately I configured the form from my personal account and it only gives me the option to have the email sent to me directly, but I want it sent to my organization email. Hello! I’m looking for a way to restrict a lookup to only the record with the max date in a date field. Context: Managing a vehicle fleet Bases: Registration VIN Desired outcome Only display the license plate that is associated with the registration record that has the max “license plate exp date” value. I’m not sure how to go about this. Seems like there may be a way to do so by creating a view in the registration base that only shows the records with the most recent restricting the lookup to that view but can’t figure out the first step there. Any help appreciated.

I am using airtable to coordinate events at a community space and I can’t figure out how to set up the front end with the survey for event booking requests that would go up on our website as the public portal to autofill into our back end. Right now I only have the back end spreadsheet aspect but want to survey portal for people to be able to request events space from the website. How do I set that up? Thank you!

Hi Everyone, I’ve been trying to script from the desktop Mac OS client. I believe it’s an electron app. Unfortunately, any time I try to open the scripting block, it just hangs there and continues showing the loading wheel. I can run scripts, but I cannot edit them, I only see the loading wheel. I saw this thread below: Scripting block does not work in Airtable Electron app Scripting app Running an example script from the Scripting block docs inside the Airtable Electron app (on Windows) generates an error. Running the same script in a browser view of Airtable (in my case: Firefox) works as expected. [Scripting Block Error] My issue is similar, but I don’t get an error at all. Any tips on how to fix this? Thank you!
