It appears that I’ve merged some records accidentally and lost data. Is there a way to undo this? I’m looking at the record history and don’t see the old information, unfortunately. In this screenshot, this record should have more than one hour of history. (Edited to remove identifying information)

I was looking at some of the third party apps in Marketplace and am a bit concerned about the apparent lack of support for privacy. When clicking to add any of the apps, there is a standard phrasing, which includes the name of the app: “Your use of the app is subject to [app provider]'s terms and conditions and privacy policy” Given that many of the apps don’t have a website (so the support link is to Airtable support), there is no privacy policy or terms and conditions. Even where there is a website (eg for miniExtensions) the privacy policy and terms and conditions on the website relate only to the website, and not the app. Are all of the 3rd party apps at our own risk, as it were? What checks do Airtable do on apps before they are added to the Marketplace? I’m thinking that this means my organisation won’t be able to use any non-Airtable provided apps…

I’m pretty sure that in the past there was an info icon next to the view name, which showed the view description when you hovered over it. That has gone. 2 days ago I had no way to view the description at all, unless I edited it. Today I can see the descriptin when I hover over the view name (info icon still gone), but the formatting is lost (no paragraph spacing) and it’s truncated: This isn’t great, as I was using the view description to provide summary instructions for users, to reminde them what they should be doing there. (And so they don’t need to refer to our documentation constantly.) Apologies if I’ve missed a ticket on this. I did search but couldn’t see anything.

Hi - I created a column with an IF statement that pulls phone numbers entered from a survey into the field IF we haven’t recorded the phone number ourselves manually (the survey column is called Phone Number and the manual column is Phone # to differentiate). The formula is IF({Phone Number}, {Phone Number}, {Phone #}) When the numbers are pulled, some of the formats are in the form that the client filled out XXX.XXX.XXXX but we want it in (XXX) XXX-XXXX. Is there a way to add formatting to the formula to force the phone number to be in the format we want?

Hi! In my base I have 3 fields where various dates are entered, based on when a client was contacted. Basically a first, second, and third touch point in communication. I have a fourth field that currently pulls the most recent date based on what’s entered in the other 3 columns. If only the first contact field has a date, then the most recent outreach is that date. If the second contact point has a date, then it assumes that date is most recent. Same with the third contact date… if anything is entered into that field, it assumes it’s the most recent. My issue is that sometimes, 6 months to a year down the road, the contact points may start over, and that first date may become the most recent date. (But because there are still dates entered into the other two fields, the 4th field assumes they are still the most recent, when they aren’t) Is there a way for it to calculate within the system which of the three dates is actually the most recent date? I hope that makes sense!

Hi, I’ve been playing around with Airtable and Integromat via Webhooks, and I was wondering if there was a way for two Airtable bases to communicate via webhook and scripts. Here’s the use case: A webhook trigger is set up in Base 1 in an automation. A record is created in Base 2. This triggers an automation to run a script, which posts to the webhook URL from the trigger in Base 1. The automation in Base 1 is triggered by the incoming webhook, and updates a corresponding record. So I watched an excellent Youtube video and figured out how a user can edit table data with a form. However, I got the Record ID to prefill, but I can seem to get the others working. Let’s say I had 400 records and I create two grid views. Will that count as 800 records?

After searching here and looking at the nested ifs reference, I believe I’m close, but not quite there. I want the formula to look at values in two fields (likelihood of a problem; severity of a problem) and return a third value (combined level) depending on the combination. A sample of part of it is below. I’m pretty new to Airtable & formulas. Was hoping someone could help me find a solution to cleaning up data for a phone field. I’m pulling data from multiple sources and while most numbers are formatted consistently, there are a few outliers I want to be sure to account for. Most common format: Dirct: XXX-XXX-XXXX A decent number also have an extension on the end in the format of " ext. X" , which are always one character. Hello! I am using LEN({Long Text}) to count the number of characters in a text field. I also see how to use this to display a symbol depending on if its under or over: IF(LEN({Long Text})>280, “ :x: ”, “ :white_check_mark: ”) How do I combine these in one field? So it would show the character count, and also the symbol for over or under? Thanks for any help!

Hello! I’m looking to link my bases for an art history research project, and one of the ones that would be helpful is to make the life dates of the artists actual dates, instead of having them as a “Single Line of Text” category like I do now. The problem is I can’t figure out if it’s possible to include text like “ca.” (or “around”) to date fields. Do you have any suggestions? I suppose if someone lived in “the early 19th century,” I could put 1800–1850 as specific dates. The other issue is I just want years, not days and months. If I can figure out how to do all of this, I could make an interactive timeline showing the overlaps of artists’ lifetimes! That would be fantastic.

Hi All, I am trying to get a function to enter the current date when I change the status to done but I want the date to stay static and I cant figure out what date function to use for this. Here is what I have: IF(Status=“Done”, DATETIME_FORMAT(TODAY(),“DD/MM/YYYY”), BLANK()) Now when I changed one item to “Done” yesterday it put in yesterdays date but when I logged in today it had todays date instead. I figured this would happen but don’t know what to put where I have “TODAY()” to get this to work. Can anyone help me with this?

Hello there , Is there any way to create conditional select fields in airtable? I want to change select option values for one select field on the basis of another select field dynamically. For instance I have 3 dropdowns A, B and C . A has 10 values , If I select 1 value in A select field , B field should display content related to A field and similarly C field should display the content related to B field. Is it feasible in airtable .I have tried to use views to achieve this but there are a number of options related to each field , so it will be quite troublesome to create view for each possible combination. Is there any alternative that we can make use of to achieve the end result? Hi, I am planning to recommend Airtable to my client for the coming project. We have a few automation tasks which Airtable has been proved to be the best tool. While Airtable provides powerful automation/scripting abilities, I am wondering is it possible to access the webhook headers as well in addition to the body/payload. Thank you!

Hi there! I have an automation Where ‘Send Date’ is ‘Today’. It does not have a time field and currently sends at middnight. If it did have a Time Field, would it send at the time that is in that field, or would it still default to Midnight? I saw this solution, but I’m curious if adding a time resolves this.

Hi, I’m a new user here and trying to create a basic order creation and tracking system. I have a field called Clients and another called client orders as attached above. Basically every time a user enters client name in the order tracking form, I need to generate a new order id in the format of. CUSTOMERNAME/1 and so the next time his name is added on the client order list it generates CUSTOMERNAME/2. I created a field called Latest order Number in the Clients table to act as a counter. I was trying to figure out how to increment the counter corresponding to that client when that client name is selected in the Client Order page. I tried the automate feature on trigger, but it wont allow me to update a record in another table or apply any math formula on it. Is this possible to through a script? Appreciate any help on how to do this. Thanks.
