I have a Search block that’s set to check three tables in our base. Two are formatted similarly (both are a kind of inventory), while the third tracks duplicates between the other two. What determines which fields (other than the name) show up in these preview cards in the search block when multiple tables are being queried? The fields shown do not match the order of the fields in the tables queried, and they’re not in alphabetical order. Hi all, I read a number of articles on the forum regarding the linking of fields across tables, but cannot figure out how to handle the following situation efficiently. I have an Excel file containing data collected over a long period of time, about the various components and subcomponents found in a given system. After importing the file into Airtable, I have two tables: Table 1 lists all components in the system Table 2 lists all subcomponents in the system and shows what component they’re associated with. Note that each component can be associated with 0, 1, or multiple subcomponents. Subcomponents are associated with only one component. I’m trying to add a “Subcomponents” column in Table 1 where, for each component, the cell would show all the associated subcomponents (if any). Hi folks, I’m trying to find a numerical value from the “Title” field and have it appear in the “amount” (e.g. 27.21) I’ve used this formula from looking at a few post’s but it only copies the values before the decimal: MID( {Title}, FIND( “For”, {Title} ) 6, 50 ) Another formula I found only copies the values before the decimal: IF({Title}, VALUE(RIGHT({Title}, LEN({Title})- FIND(“0”,“1”,“2”,“3”,“4”,“5”,“6”,“7”,“8”,“9”, {Title}))), 0) What formula do I need to get the full total which in this example is 27.21? Hi, I would like to return all rows that contain a specific term. For example, I have rows that have two terms, [Default, Bar]. Using AND(term='Bar') will not work, but using FIND('Bar',term) will work. Except that it will also return results that have the term “Barber” as well. Is there a way to select rows that contain a term? Like FIND([Bar], term) for example? Thanks

Hey all, wasn’t sure where to post this question in the community… I’m looking to order entries so that most recent entries show first. In the screenshot below, Airtable keeps the oldest entry at the top no matter what I do. How can I invert this? Thanks, Christopher

I’m a little bit lost on this one and hoping for some help from the community. I’ve been using this automation without issue for months, but recently something changed and now it’s throwing me an error. (I’m guessing something updated on Airtables end). I have an automation which runs whenever a customers record is updated (which includes a rollup field of their orders). I then run a script to take the customers linked order records and sort them, so that newest orders show at the top. Up until this point, everything is working as expected, and the output of the script is a sorted list of the linked record ‘names’ (which in this case are Order ID’s, like 12345). The next step, ‘Update a record’ is where I’m now getting the error everytime this automation runs. It should (as before) take the output of the script and update the linked ‘Orders’ field in the customer record that changed, triggering the automation. Hey everyone! Today we had an issue where a few of our automations started failing due to all of our “Link to _” fields breaking. We have been using these fields as a main link between tables, and they have all started failing with the same error: Field “_ ID” cannot accept the provided value: Cannot modify a computed field. Does anybody have any idea what might have happened? This all started happening around 1:30pm EDT today, and it is not just one table, but at least 4 or 5 tables. Any insight into what might have happened would be very much appreciated. It is a very big workflow issue for our company as this drives a lot of what we work on a daily basis. Thank you!

Hello! I am trying to make a formula to calculate X number of days before a Launch Date. I do not want to exclude weekends, however if the Due Date happens to fall on a weekend, I want to make it that Friday instead. I know about the DATEADD({Launch Date},-7,‘days) formula, and I’ve seen the WORKDAY function but not exactly sure how to make this work. So when calculating the total days before launch I DO want to include any weekends, but if the Due date falls on a weekend, it should add an extra day or two to make it that Friday… Thanks!

Hi, I need to calculate the age of a Deceased. I assume a formula is needed. I have Date of Birth and Date of Death to work with and I need the know the age in Years, Months and Days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I desperately tried for 3 days to solve this problem, could you help me ? I have 2 forms I ask my clients to fill. each form fills a separated table in the same base. Form 1 and Form 2. to do the folllow up I would like to create a “follow up table” to see which companies filled form 1 and form 2, and to be able to send reminders to the companies that just filled form 1. I tried with automations ( find records based on the company name) but it did not work. I would like to have a " follow up table" with the name of all the companies that filled either form 1 and form 2, and being able to see in the fields Form 1 and Form 2, if they filled both. Hi guys, Recently, I ran into some weird cases while trying to copy-paste a formula field cell values. When I’m pasting the content, I’m getting the string with quotation marks at the beginning and the ending of the text, while in the field itself I’m not seeing them. Example: You can see there are no quotation marks in the cell itself, but when trying to paste the cell value, I’m getting: “Text text text” Any idea on how to avoid these quotation marks?

I hope this is the right place to ask this. I’m hoping to figure out an easier way to handle a data type in my base. Basically, a lot of the data we use has cities in our area for different purposes (Address for the student, parent address, school address, things like that). So basically we have 5 different fields that are basically of a “City” type. To import into our system, the city names have to exactly match what is in there, or they won’t import. To accommodate this, I made the city list a dropdown selection. We have a ton of cities we serve, and it seems every year we get new ones. Unfortunately, that involves updating the attributes for not only 5 fields, but due to confidential data regulations, those same 5 fields across multiple bases. Is there some way to sync the dropdown selections for those city fields to a master list somewhere? This way, if a new city pops up, we can push it out to all of the bases for our customers, or if we find out someone put in a city name and spe

I’m trying to have a central calendar of sorts fed from a few different sources, and while I’ve used sync to great effect to make that calendar, my one hangup is in entering new events/dates into that calendar. To illustrate, let’s say I have an “Events” calendar and a few other misc calendars. For example a “Holiday” calendar. They are all synced into a “Master” calendar. What I would ultimately like to be able to do is add a new event while referencing the “Master” view. Say, for example, I am looking to schedule an event but want to make sure it isn’t going to fall on a holiday. I’d ideally like to be able to schedule right on the “Master” calendar. But it seems like that isn’t possible, and instead what I would have to do is go back to the “Events” calendar and add the event after referencing the “Master” calendar. Am I missing anything?

I would like to make it so members filling in a form can select their name or their organization’s name from a list in the database using “+add”. But I only want them to see an alphabetical list of member names and not information in any of the other columns. So I created a “member name only alphabetical” view in the database. Then on the form, I selected ‘limit record selection to a view’ and chose “member name only alphabetical”. But all the hidden fields are still showing up. I only wanted the alphabetical names to show. What am I doing wrong?

Here is the backstory and the info that accompanies the screen shot I have attached: I have a field that the user chooses for a month called “S1 Month – Choose”. I then have a field next to it called “S1 Month Shown”. I’m guessing if it was possible it would have something to do with using typescript but I have not been able to figure it out. I did download node and tried to install the airtable npm but kept getting a “connect EBADF” error. Not sure if any of this is actually gets me closer to my desired goal but this was just me attempting things.
