I’m still pretty new to Airtable, and I’ve searched for this info to no avail. I’m trying to understand the core reason(s) for using multiple workspaces. In our business, we have multiple clients with very different setups and data. I need to be sure those streams don’t cross. If we can share the bases within the workspace without granting access to everything, is there a reason why I couldn’t use one workspace and build out a base for each client?

Hey, can anyone tell me if features available to upgraded users (Plus, Pro, etc.) will be visible to non-upgraded users in a certain workspace? For example, If a certain base contains Gantt charts, a pro feature, will a “free” user who the base is shared with be able to see or interact with the gantt chart? Hello everyone, Tinkering with my garden automations and I have seasons on my mind. There’s a couple of items I’m working on and thinking about, and figured I may as well post my questions here to help advance my Airtable skills. Firstly, spending time with a Switch statement, is it possible to stack cases? I am looking at to build a system which will allow me to keep track of the walkthrough I do with my teachers as a school principal. I have one tab with all the teachers, one tab with all the standards we are looking at. My goal is when I start a walkthrough would be to: Select the teacher Upload medias Add notes in 3 boxes: description fo the observation, area of strengths, suggestions Rate the selected standards (probably 5 maximum for one walkthrough), and add a note next to the rating What would be the best way to design this ? My issue is on the standard as for ONE ENTRY (one walkthrough for one teacher), I can see how to deal with the medias and the three notes, however I don’t see how I can select the standards I want to rate and rate them. If you have done think kind of design or you know a template that could inspire me, I would love to see it.

I am trying to figure out how to translate the in-airtable-ui filters into a filterByFormula method in the request via fetch. I can’t seem to find any docs and some related questions kind of seem like people are figuring these out somehow so I feel like I’m missing something. For my exact example, I’m trying to replicate "where fieldName contains string" in the Airtable UI. I’ve seen some conflicting opinions between using FIND and SEARCH, but neither have worked for me yet. I’m hoping to find something that outlines those available options, similar to how there examples for CURL (and an unofficial CodePen for generating them)

I’m building a research project library and I’d like to create a multiselect “see also” column at the end of each record where we could select any of the other records (projects) in the base for people to reference. Whenever a new project is added to the library I’d love for that project title (from the title column) to appear as an option in this multiselect list. I’ve seen how to link records from another table, but wondering if something like this is possible within the same table. Thanks!

Hello! Airtable noob here, we are just integrating the software into our company’s workflow. Is there a way to track or view all the times someone has been tagged as a collaborator, across all tables in a base? We currently have one table for projects and a linked table for tasks. I would like to be able to create a view where I can see all the projects AND tasks that I’ve been tagged in. Is this possible? Thanks!

Dear ones, I need help. I’m using a filter on another system that searches the result based on a certain date. If I inform the filter as follows. Date = “2021-06-25”, The expectation is that I would return all the rows that appear on this date, however filtering this way I have no return. If I use the Date filter >=“2021-06-25”. it works, but it brings me back not only the lines corresponding to that date but all the other dates ahead. What is the right way to filter an exact date in the airtable?

Hello I would like to create a field where when data is imported into AirTable, that it would input the current month as written into a specific cell. like “7/1/2021”, for any entries entered in that month, I want this one cell to enter 7/1/2021, and not update any previously entered rows.

Hi, I currently have my IT-inventory in Airtable. I would like to upgrade this with a kind of lending/borrow system. Where the employee’s can scan a QR code and take the (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc…) device and I know who took it. And when they afterwards return the device and scan again, it shows in Airtable that it’s returned. Is this possible in Airtable or is there something that already exists?

I’m working on a base that makes some currency calculations and I’ve noticed that when you have an amount that ends in a 0, e.g. £10.50, the zero at the end won’t show up in markdown that I’m using in automations. It will show as £10.5 instead. For any other amount that doesn’t end in a zero, you will get the two decimal places. The same happens whether it’s a formula field, a number field or a currency field. I could probably correct this with something like IF(RIGHT, 2=".", {Number} & “0”), i.e. add a zero when the second from right character is a decimal point, but that seems like an ugly way of doing things. Any advice?

I see a form view to collect data from users. I see a few form-oriented addons, but they are for printing forms. Is there a way to create a form-oriented view of a table where users can update the table and add rows?

Hi all! I’m developing a script that triggers when a new row is added to a table (it makes HTTP call to retrieve more data, and add to the missing columns). I’m currently using “When record is created” as a trigger, and it works well in cases where the entire row is added to the table at the same time through other automations, or copy-paste. My problem is with written inputs. So if a user writes the data manually, the script triggers too soon, before all the columns are filled in, thus with only partial inputs to my HTTP call. What’s the best way to overcome this? Intuitive I thought the trigger would work so that when a user is adding the row, it fires only when the focus goes away from the added row. so this is my current Formula - IF({Sold Platform}=“GOAT”,{Unit Sold Price}-({Unit Sold Price}*.095)-5,"") I am trying to have this result in a $dollar amount. I’ve looked through the community pages but I’m struggling to get the desired result. Can anyone help?

I have STARTTIME, DURATION,CALCULATEDENDTIME and ENDTIME fields. After entering values for STARTTIME and DURATION, the CALCULATEDENDTIME adds the two. My automation is setup to trigger when a value is entered into DURATION, and copy CALCULATEDENDTIME to ENDTIME . Here is the problem: automation does not read the complete data entry, just it’s first typed digit!!! The CALCULATEDENDTIME does the DATEADD with each digit I type- ONE DIGIT AT A TIME!!!, and automation thinks I’m done. Example-if my STARTTIME is 12:00 and DURATION is ‘60’ minutes: CALCULATEDENDTIME changes to 12:06 immediately upon typing the first digit of the DURATION (the ‘6’), the automation then triggers and assumes the CALCULATEDENDTIME is complete. I continue typing the DURATION (‘0’), but the trigger is already executed. Any suggestions to have it work with the complete entry?

Hi, guys! I couldn’t find a Roadmap for Airtable (I suppose it doesn’t exist) and I’d like to know if Airtable has plans to add financial formulas to the current list of formulas. I have a table where I collect some financial indicators and I’d like to do some basic calculations like standard deviation, variance, etc. I can’t do that in Airtable and I have to use Excel for that. I know Airtable isn’t a spreadsheet, but I hope developers could add more functionalities….

Howdy folks. I have a table I’ve pasted some data into. One of the fields is certainly text, but if I reference it with T(), it says it is not. If I select the cell, there are no other characters hidden or otherwise. If I delete the contents with backspace and retype exactly, it is magically text. Any thoughts?

Hi All - I’m stuck and could use a bit of guidance for my project management. I currently have a table with my projects, which is linked to my clients table. Once a project moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ I want to be able to select a workflow and then the tasks that are specific to each workflow would populate. I have my automations set up and while they are working, something is a bit ‘broken’ and I’m not sure how best to fix. To be a bit more granular, I have: Clients table Projects table Tasks table I’m wondering if it makes sense to have a junction table for the workflow and each workflow’s specific tasks? If so, suggestions on linking everything together? Because here’s where I am running into an issue and not sure how to best approach and fix – Let’s say Project A moves from a ‘lead’ to ‘in process’ and I select Workflow 1. My automation triggers and all of the tasks for Workflow 1 automatically populate. Then I realize that Workflow 2 is actually more appropriate for this

I previously used the Gantt app within a dashboard. The app allowed the user to click into a record on the Gantt app and edit the record. The user could also drag the bar on the app interface to set dates or duration for the record. After the Gantt app was changed to a view, we could no longer use the Gantt app. Instead we used the Embed app to make a Gantt view visible within a Dashboard. This works reasonable well with one exception. The user can click on the record and view the contents, just that no-one can edit the record nor drag the bar to change the dates. Is there a work around to make embedded view behave like the older Gantt app?

Hi, I am in need of some guidance on a formula. I have two columns that I am comparing against each other - basically determining the dollar difference between the two and then the % difference that amounts to. Once that is figured out, I want to grade the resulting % as pass or fail, but I want to do it as a range. Here is an example: A) Final Estimate: $10,000.00 B) Preliminary Estimate: $9,000.00 C) Difference in $: ($1,000.00) D) Difference in %: (10%) Here is where I need a formula: IF the result of D is within a range of 10% under to 10% over the Final Estimate then the grade would be “Pass”. IF the result is either more than 10% below or over 10% above the Final Estimate, then the result is “Fail”. So I want to allow a spread of 10% each way off of matching the numbers as allowable. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey all, I’m trying to build a formula right now that generates copy based on various fields, specifically a date field. Some of these values have a date and others do not. Whenever I try to build the formula using DATETIME_FORMAT({Presale Start}, "ddd, M/D") values that don’t have a date show as #ERROR!. That being said, I tried using an IF statement but it won’t even save the formula. Can’t tell what I’m going wrong but this is the latest version I’ve tried to use: IF({Presale Start}=BLANK(), “0“, IF{Presale Start}!=BLANK(), DATETIME_FORMAT({Presale Start}, "ddd, M/D") Any help would be much appreciated!
