Is there a way to solve a simplex algorithm in airtable? Similar to solver in excel?

I have a table in which I track each time I contact a client. I also have a formula that uses the date contacted and cycle frequency to determine the next date to connect with the client. I also have a view that filters the view to only show future “next contact date.” I would like to create a way to show in this view only the clients I need to contact within the current 7 DAY week. I can’t come up with a formula, and the filter options for the view don’t provide a way to do this. I was thinking a separate column with a formula that would only populate if the “next contact date” column had a date for the current 7 DAY week. Maybe a checkmark and the view can be filtered if a record has a checkmark. I’m stumped and would love some thoughts.

I wrote a formula that converts options chosen from a multi-select list into a string and appends the responses when “other” is selected. I want to take the resulting comma separated string and convert them into links to connect to other records. Is there any way to do that without disrupting the formula? Or is there a way to continually copy the contents of column A into column B while being able to link column B to other records?

Hi, New to AirTable. I’ve got tables that look like: Courses (links to Units) Units (links to Modules) Modules (have a field called Video) A Unit will have one or more Modules. I know how to show Videos for a given Unit via lookup of all the Modules for a Unit. A Course will have one or more Units. What’s the best way in AirTable to show the Videos for a Course? Hello! I have 2 tables - “product” and “supplier” These tables are related: in the table “product” I see the supplier, in the table “supplier” I see what goods he has. When I am in the “supplier” table and click delete product, only the relationship between the tables is deleted. There are no changes to the “product” table. How to make it possible to remove goods from the table “supplier”? To remove not only the relationship between the tables, but also goods from the “product” table.

In my database of garden plants I use the field WETENSCHAPPELIJKE NAAM, it has two or three strings, the genus, the species and/or the variety of the plant. the variety always between apostrophe’s. I like to create a formula-field which automatically creates a CODE, the first character of each string in the field WETENSCHAPPELIJKE NAAM, without the apostroph. I tried but without the result, can somebody help?

I am creating an IF formula in the Primary field so I know which apartment my maintenance manager was in, doing what, on what date. I have a table that breaks it down by per suite so it is organized. I have this as my formula: Suite & “: " & Comments & " - " & IF({Date Completed}, " (” & DATETIME_FORMAT({Date Completed}, ‘ll’) & “)”) I copied and pasted it from a sample but it puts the date in brackets. I don’t want brackets around the date. I cannot figure out which parenthesis to eliminate. I have tried different ones but then I cannot save it due to errors in the formula. Is there a way to do this formula so the date is not in (bracketed)?

Anyone have any suggestions as to why I am not receiving a notification email when a form is submitted to airtable? After a form is submitted, a record does get created, it’s only the notification I don’t get. Also: I do have the “email me at xx@xxx.com” selected on the form, and I have checked my spam folder, but nothing there. Any advice?

Hi all, I created a survey in the form version and send out the links for those to complete. As with other surveys I’ve made, I should see the responses coming in in the Grid version however this isn’t occurring. I am not sure what troubleshooting I could do to get these responses visible. I completed the form, as a test, and that response is also not appearing. Any support or direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Samantha

I’m new to Airtable and databases in general. My database will be used to organize a dance competition. I’m trying to construct a formula to calculate how many medals I will need for each competition. I am trying to upload several jpgs to one record. I use ‘Gallery’ and drop files in bulk to the plus sign bottom right. They are pages from a book and therefore in a sequence. The files are numbered as jpgs in a numerical sequence. Why can I not have the viewed output remain in the correct sequence? Why is the output always reversed with the last item first? Hi - I have a column {Count of Amounts Paid of $250+} and I want to divide it by 9 because the number of scholarships available is determined at 1 after every 9 enrollments that are $250 and over. In an adjacent field - but because, for example, 51 divided by 9 is 5.6666666667 I want also want to ROUNDDOWN so that the scholarship fiel doesn’t display more scholarships than are actually available (only when it gets to numbers evenly divisible by 9. For the scholarshps field I tried: ROUNDDOWN({Count of Amounts Paid of $250+}/9) but I get an error message. I imagine my syntax is off in someway but I can’t figure it out. I’ve been pouring through the other IF threads, and still can’t find a solution that returns the correct results. Instead, I’m getting #ERROR. Here is what I want to do: I need to set a date in the “Next Update Due” field. It should be 35 days from “X” date. I need the {Item Start Date Manual Override} field to have priority over the others, unless {Item Start Date Manual Override} is blank. SO: If {Item Start Date Manual Override} is not blank, then i want to add 35 days to {Item Start Date Manual Override} otherwise If {Last Keyword Insertion Date} is not blank, then i want to add 35 days to {Last Keyword Insertion Date} otherwise i want to add 35 days to {Date Item Added to Air Table} Here are the two versions of the formula as I’ve written them, but it gives me an error unless there is a value in the {Item Start Date Manual Override} field IF( and( {Last Keyword Insertion Date} = BLANK(), {Item Start Date Manual Override} = BLANK() ), DATEADD( {Date Item Added to Air Table}, 35, ‘

Can anyone provide some input on how I would go about creating a rule between tables? In my situation, I am attempting to pair students to jobs available. I have the two tables linked, but would like to set a rule that once a student has been “assigned”/linked to a position on the other table, that the move from the “unassigned” column to the “completed” column. Another way that this may be able to work is if there is a way to limit the number of times each record can be linked. In this situation, we only want one student to be allowed to be linked to one job. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

I have a Table in which I track all my contacts of organizational partners. I log the date I contacted them, and them I have a frequency that I set for that partner (the frequency can change based on time of year or other circumstances so each record needs the frequency). There are 5 different cycles (3 Weeks, 6 Weeks, Quarterly, Bi-Annually, Annually) and there are three options that I need to return NOTHING in the formula. I believe this is a nested if statement, but the formula is throwing me off because of the date contacted column needing to have different amounts of days to return a specific date in the future. Any help would be appreciated. I’m happy to answer questions. I’ve included screenshot in case it helps at all.!

Hello, brand new user, here! :slightly_smiling_face: I see the ability to edit permissions of a field so that only specific users can edit a field; however, is there a way to set the permissions so that only specific users can see the field to begin with? We want to include some sensitive information in our database that can only be seen/accessed by certain employees. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I would like to flag a new record if it arrives and the email address of the new record matches an email address of a record already in the base. I have gotten as far as lowercasing the email addresses to ensure the capitalization doesn’t throw it off, but I just want to have a visual flag immediately showing as an output in a field. We have the pro version, and the dedupe block, but we want to just be able to see quickly if a record exists before wasting time deduping it or outright ignoring the new record.

Hello Folks, I am totally new to Airtable, I work as a content planning manager, so I want to build a base that’s is collaborative and at the same time keeps sensitive info to their owners, For instance: I have 5 content owners, each is ingesting his data to his view and involuntary to the main base, however, they have some sensitive columns, they don’t want these to be visible to anyone.even if they changed their view to personal, other collaborators can’t see it but still can unhide the columns to the main base or to their own views. What’s the best practice to create such a thing, where everybody is ingesting all information to the same place and hide whatever they want to their own only? Could you please help me with that, thanks in advance to you all.

First time I’ve used airtable. It;s the free version. I have 2 tables Customers Assets There is a common unique ID in both tables - so I assume I can use this to link them. However when I try and change the ID by customize field type to link to another record the other table isn’t an option. Thanks for any assistance Phil

I am going to be using Airtable for project management. I have currently populated my records by importing a CSV file (containing all current projects with their fields), but I am trying to plan ahead for when new records are added. Is there a way to IMPORT a single record into an existing table? Or can I only input things into a table manually once it’s been created?
