I’m new to Airtable and databases in general. My database will be used to organize a dance competition. I’m trying to construct a formula to calculate how many medals I will need for each competition. The number of medals needed depends on the type of dance and the number of competitors, a few of which are shown in the image below: My formula keeps returning an error (Sorry, there was a problem saving this field. Invalid formula. Please check your formula text.). I have been through many Airtable articles, tutorials, and forum posts, and still do not know what I have done wrong. Any help is much appreciated. I am trying to upload several jpgs to one record. I use ‘Gallery’ and drop files in bulk to the plus sign bottom right. They are pages from a book and therefore in a sequence. The files are numbered as jpgs in a numerical sequence. Why can I not have the viewed output remain in the correct sequence? Why is the output always reversed with the last item first? How can I fix this? Many thanks if anybody can help!

Hi - I have a column {Count of Amounts Paid of $250+} and I want to divide it by 9 because the number of scholarships available is determined at 1 after every 9 enrollments that are $250 and over. In an adjacent field - but because, for example, 51 divided by 9 is 5.6666666667 I want also want to ROUNDDOWN so that the scholarship fiel doesn’t display more scholarships than are actually available (only when it gets to numbers evenly divisible by 9. For the scholarshps field I tried: ROUNDDOWN({Count of Amounts Paid of $250+}/9) but I get an error message. I imagine my syntax is off in someway but I can’t figure it out. I’ve been pouring through the other IF threads, and still can’t find a solution that returns the correct results. Instead, I’m getting #ERROR. Here is what I want to do: I need to set a date in the “Next Update Due” field. It should be 35 days from “X” date. I need the {Item Start Date Manual Override} field to have priority over the others, unless {Item Start Date Manual Override} is blank. SO: If {Item Start Date Manual Override} is not blank, then i want to add 35 days to {Item Start Date Manual Override} otherwise If {Last Keyword Insertion Date} is not blank, then i want to add 35 days to {Last Keyword Insertion Date} otherwise i want to add 35 days to {Date Item Added to Air Table} Here are the two versions of the formula as I’ve written them, but it gives me an error unless there is a value in the {Item Start Date Manual Override} field IF( and( {Last Keyword Insertion Date} = BLANK(), {Item Start Date Manual Override} = BLANK() ), DATEADD( {Date Item Added to Air Table}, 35, ‘

Can anyone provide some input on how I would go about creating a rule between tables? In my situation, I am attempting to pair students to jobs available. I have the two tables linked, but would like to set a rule that once a student has been “assigned”/linked to a position on the other table, that the move from the “unassigned” column to the “completed” column. Another way that this may be able to work is if there is a way to limit the number of times each record can be linked. In this situation, we only want one student to be allowed to be linked to one job. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

I have a Table in which I track all my contacts of organizational partners. I log the date I contacted them, and them I have a frequency that I set for that partner (the frequency can change based on time of year or other circumstances so each record needs the frequency). There are 5 different cycles (3 Weeks, 6 Weeks, Quarterly, Bi-Annually, Annually) and there are three options that I need to return NOTHING in the formula. I believe this is a nested if statement, but the formula is throwing me off because of the date contacted column needing to have different amounts of days to return a specific date in the future. Any help would be appreciated. I’m happy to answer questions. I’ve included screenshot in case it helps at all.!

Hello, brand new user, here! :slightly_smiling_face: I see the ability to edit permissions of a field so that only specific users can edit a field; however, is there a way to set the permissions so that only specific users can see the field to begin with? We want to include some sensitive information in our database that can only be seen/accessed by certain employees. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

I would like to flag a new record if it arrives and the email address of the new record matches an email address of a record already in the base. I have gotten as far as lowercasing the email addresses to ensure the capitalization doesn’t throw it off, but I just want to have a visual flag immediately showing as an output in a field. We have the pro version, and the dedupe block, but we want to just be able to see quickly if a record exists before wasting time deduping it or outright ignoring the new record.

Hello Folks, I am totally new to Airtable, I work as a content planning manager, so I want to build a base that’s is collaborative and at the same time keeps sensitive info to their owners, For instance: I have 5 content owners, each is ingesting his data to his view and involuntary to the main base, however, they have some sensitive columns, they don’t want these to be visible to anyone.even if they changed their view to personal, other collaborators can’t see it but still can unhide the columns to the main base or to their own views. What’s the best practice to create such a thing, where everybody is ingesting all information to the same place and hide whatever they want to their own only? Could you please help me with that, thanks in advance to you all.

First time I’ve used airtable. It;s the free version. I have 2 tables Customers Assets There is a common unique ID in both tables - so I assume I can use this to link them. However when I try and change the ID by customize field type to link to another record the other table isn’t an option. Thanks for any assistance Phil

I am going to be using Airtable for project management. I have currently populated my records by importing a CSV file (containing all current projects with their fields), but I am trying to plan ahead for when new records are added. Is there a way to IMPORT a single record into an existing table? Or can I only input things into a table manually once it’s been created?

I’m trying to upload a set of data using the CSV import block - wondering if when you get the warning of ‘2 cell values couldn’t be mapped’ there’s any way to see which cells that is referring to. Does anyone know?

Hello, I use this formula to compute the projected funding date for a borrower. the Funding date is usually 3 days after the borrower signs the final documents. This formula does it just fine, but I need to exclude Saturdays and Sundays from the formula. for example, if a borrower signs on Monday the 15th, then he should be funded on Thursday the 18th. However if the borrower signs on Saturday the 20th then he should be funded on Wednesday the 24th. Please note, signings can be done on saturdays, but funding can not. existing formula. I have data in a pipeline and I am using lookup to pull it into my base. They are connected by the Company name field which is linked. The problem is that we have multiple customers with the same name. (They are churches). Each record is unique but when the lookup runs it pulls in multiples. The example below shows Trinity UMC. This is one specific record but the lookup pulled data from every Trinity UMC we have. How can I get it to look at each instance of Trinity UMC as a unique record? Do I need to connect the two with a different field such as ID#? That would be unique on all 22000 records.

Hello, Is there any body facing the same issue as me? Since June all my tables automatically shows “all views” column as long as I open one and it’s annoying. Might have set up something by accident but didn’t know how to fix it.

Record history is good - but I need it to display the actual dates that events have occurred for each recond. My history column for an expanded record shows things like ‘3 mo’ to indicate that a record update or change was made about 3 months ago. I need the actual date. How can I see that?

I am new to Airtable and am sure I am missing something very basic here. I have a base with a table of clients. I am trying to work with and better understand how to sort my table, but am clearly missing something. I have reviewed the posts I’ve found related to this topic and have not yet resolved my issue. Following the API docs, I have modified my codes as follows. let table = base.getTable(‘Client Appointments’); let result = await table.selectRecordsAsync({ sorts: [ {field: “Client Name”, direction: “desc”}, ] }) All I am trying to do is simply sort my client table by the name column in des order, but the table never changes. If I update my code to include output.table(result.records), then the output displayed following script execution in shows the outputted table with the sort order as defined in my code. However, the actual table remains unchanged. What am I missing that is resulting in the table not sorting as expected? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Bo

Hi, hopefully I can explain what I am looking for. I have several tables - “In the News”; “Events” and “Projects”. Each of those tables has detailed information (date, description, etc.) on each individual event / project / news item. I also have a field in each of those tables that links to a “Topics” table, so I can tag specific topics (e.g. coworking, consulting, affordable housing, etc.) that each news article, event or project could relate to. The problem that I am having is that I want to be able to see the detailed view of Events, sorted by topic. If I sort in the Events table by grouping topics, then events with multiple topics get put in their own separate category (ie if an Event is tagged “coworking” and “consulting” it will show up as its own category, rather than showing twice, once in the “coworking” category and once in the “consulting” category which is what I want). I have only 2 numbers 15% 161.80 I have to get after the deal is done $161.80 and the the other guy have to get 15% of the deal. So the total deal will be $190.35 - (161.8 is a 15% decrease of 190.35.) How can I get to this number ($190.35) in Airtable, when I have only the 2 other numbers (1. 15% 2. 161.80) In Excel I will make this as follows =161.8 / (1-15%) but I can not make this work in Airtable Thanks in Advance

I have a base of events where I am tracking event updates. I am trying to write a conditional formula that will display up to 3 different possible date fields based on 11 outcomes using data from fields already existing in each record. I have tried nested IF formulas using IF( AND( as well as IF( OR( and have not been able to correctly solve the problem. I am either getting a formula that produces a date that is not 100% reflective of all criteria or an error message. Hello–I have a simple question that I am struggling to solve. I am trying to calculate the difference between two dates but I need it to count full days. For example in the first record Start date of 1/2 and end date of 1/3 needs to equal 2 and not 1. The same with the 3 record–I need a formula that will calculate this to be 5 and not 4. Hello, I am the Office Manager of an apartment building with 100+ suites. I have been moving the company into the 21st Century with Airtable and eliminating some paper that is being used. However, I have multiple bases and some items are becoming redundant. I am wondering if it is possible to have one base that not only shows tenant information (phone number, name, suite number, parking, storage locker etc.) but also the condition of each unit and the renos that are being completed. In other words, I want to see a “portrait” view (big picture of everything) of the suites as well as a snap shot (brief glance of what suites have new flooring, which need complete renos when vacant, when was paint done, new installations of sinks / taps / tubs / toilets). My one base contains the tables for tenants and the snap shot, and I have another base (Facilities Management) for the big picture with maintenance and facilities tables.
