Hi I am a complete newbie. I was so pleased when I got by base looking and working exactly as I wanted. I started the base with a csv import from my website which shows the date as June 7 2020 as a single line text. I changed it to the friendly date 7 June 2020 and completely forgot about it. I carried on and created order renewal dates etc and was very pleased with the results. I then updated the table with another CSV from my website orders. It added the orders perfectly but has now knocked everything out of may date field and calendar completely. The problem, I am assuming is with the slight difference in the datetime format, I can’t undo the import and can’t change the date format to match. Please HELP!!! TIA Andy

Hi all, I have tried for over 2 hours to get this to work, but can’t seem to. I am trying to update a barcode primary key field. but the closest I got was this error message: Type ‘string’ is not assignable to type ‘{ text: string; type?: string; }’.(2322)

Is there any way of moving completed records to a different table so that I can remove finished jobs but still be able to access them for invoicing reasons? A previous recommendation was to filter to exclude certain records but I can’t for the life of me see how to do this! TIA

HI, I have a crowdfunding campaign that just started. I need to track what’s happening with rewards—who gets one, did I send it, did I tell someone else to send it, what date sent. That part is easy to set up. The part that has me puzzled… The platform will allow me to download into an excel file each donation’s entire record, with 32 fields - many of them blank. Because I will be adding to the table every day, I don’t want to mess with that format, so I can easily cut and paste. So far I have called that table “Raw Data”. The primary column is “Time Pledged.” I’m unclear about how I get to having my rewards info in a useful way for me. Create another table and use a lookup to collect info about rewards from the Raw Data? Would I use “Time Pledged” as my primary column? Can I pull the info I want from the Raw Data using formulas? Or is it as simple as adding columns to Raw data for the info I want to track and build a view that lets me see only the data I need? Is that clear? Am I mi

Hi Everyone, There are infnite examples of being able to post updates to the table into slack, but I was wondering if there were any date-driven event notifiers that are possible. For example, if I had a field of important dates, is there any way to have some sort of scripting block/zapier/iftts integration that will push a notification on that date to slack without the need of a server accessing the record everyday. Hi ! I supposed it might be a Google Drive support question too but I wished to give it a try here first. I followed this example : https://www.onlinedatabase.expert/post/creating-qr---bar-codes-in-airtable-with-integromat in order to create QR codes, store them to Google Drive and upgrade attachment fields in my Airtable database. Everything is working fine except in Airtable where the attachment are not visible. The png file is correctly generated and stored in Google Drive. Here’s a screenshot of what I get in Airtable: Surprisingly, the download is working fine in Airtable. So there’s a link. For information, with the Google Drive API, I use Web Content Link as the URL to the image. Because the key in use in the tutorial doesn’t appear on my integration. Thanks for any help !

Is it possible in Airtable to create some kind of company hierarchy such as: Company 1 (parent) Company A (child) Company B (child) Company C (child) Company 2 (parent) Company A (child) Company B (child) Company C (child) To try and help you understand what I have and what I want to achieve, I have simplified my base as follows: I have an Accounts table: I have a Projects table: I have a Tasks table: What would I need to do to find out (link) which projects/tasks Company 1 (parent company) are working on? As a start, in the Accounts table, I created a ‘Parent Company’ field that is linked to the Accounts table (I’m not sure if this is right or not) but I can’t figure out the next steps. In the Project Tracker template is a field Subtasks. with a list of items and checkboxes. I’d like to create a subtask field from scratch. Unfortunately, it’s not clear, at least not to me, how to do that? Tia

Hi, I have issues with a checkbox that doesn’t work proper with my IF AND formula. Or more correctly, when checkbox =“1” formula works fine, but when checkbox =“0” it doesn’t. As far as I can tell, an empty checkbox is supposed to be =“0”, right? Formula looks like this: IF(AND({Win}=‘Yes’, {EW}=“1”), (({Stake} / 2) * {Odds}) + (({Stake} / 2) * {EW Odds}), IF(AND({Win}=‘Yes’, {EW}=“0”), {Stake} * {Odds}, IF(AND({Win}=‘EP’, {EW}=“1”), {Stake} / 2 * {EW Odds}, {Stake} * 0))) Works like a charm as long as the checkbox is marked, but when it’s not the 2nd Row of the formula is not working and instead the ELSE thing at the end of Row 3 kicks in. It would be great to be able to select the deliminator type for single and multiple select fields. For example if I’m pasting in a list of items that I want to be options and some contain commas it currently breaks those into separate listings. Whereas if I could set the deliminator type to only new lines or semicolons it would maintain the list items as I would like to use them.

Hello! I work in higher ed, and am trying to set up a highly automated CRM base. We’ve used Zapier for ages to create and update records in Google Sheets, and are shifting our process over to Airtable to allow more users access to the data. The primary challenge I’m encountering is in logging interactions. I have a Contacts table (with Email as the unique identifier), and an Interactions table (with things like General Web Form, Event Registration, etc.). So if a candidate fills out the General Web Form, I can have a unique Zap with the text ‘General Web Form’ dropping into the linked records --> Interactions field and it works like a charm. The challenge is at the second point of conversion: let’s say Event Registration. Zapier can locate the record, and then updated it – but If I use the same trick, the integration will overwrite the existing data in the linked records field, so I lose the General Web Form conversion. Hello and thank you in advance for taking a look at my question! I would like to have a formula that analyzes two columns of data to return a specific amount, or 0. Column 1: # Nights Column 2: Cabin Name If # Nights is greater than or equal to 7, AND Cabin Name is “299” then $1800, if not then $0 If # Nights is greater than or equal to 7, AND Cabin Name is “514” then $1850, if not then $0 I am struggling with the logic of whether the IF statement for cabin name comes first or the # of nights comes first. Also struggling with the IF(AND…) formula - or perhaps I should be using a different formula altogether? Please help! Heather

Adding records is simple, but is there a way to have the blank row with the plus symbol appear at the top of the table instead of at the bottom? My users are complaining that they have to scroll to the bottom in order to add a new record.

Hello, i’ve create a database with ingredients, recipes and meal plan tables. I’ve linked my recipe with a list of all ingredients inside this meal plan table, then my goal is to add a multiplier field in the meal plan table to adjust quantity of each ingredients of the list. Is it possible to have a lookup field with a liste of values (number and text) and multiply these values (only numbers) ? Thank you for your help Best Regards Brian

@Kasra - In reference to this, from the AMA session AMA Custom Blocks Contest Edition #1 - Getting Started with the Airtable Product Team (Live on Wednesday 6/10) There isn’t an API for getting this information at the moment, but I’ll note your +1 for it! Out of curiosity, what are you hoping to build with it? One thing I could imagine being potentially useful is a Custom Block that can stream updates to particular records or a particular table, along with the source of those updates - it could provide a useful place to keep an eye on changes to critical records/tables within a base while working in a different part of the base. I think opening up an API to record revision history in the SDK could be potentially useful for that kind of thing.

Hello! I have two tables “Episodes” and “Team/Dates”. “Episodes” has a single select field called “Status” with 20 non-alphabetically listed options. When I create a linked lookup field in “Team/Dates” to the “Status” column in “Episodes”, it imports the field as text. Is it possible to import it as a single-select field? Or to somehow retain the sorting order from the “Episodes” single select field? The two workarounds I’ve found so far are adding a numerical prefix to each status (e.g., 01 Script, 02 Storyboards, 03 Edit) or using a formula in the second table with an emoji in front to do sorting. Hi! I’ve been looking around the forum and Reddit for a solution to copy records from one base to another using the scripting block. I just want to know if this is possible and maybe see an example to use as a reference. The idea is to get all the records from Base A Table 1 and copy them to Base B Table 1, without deleting existing ones. I need to have different bases so the data and permission management is easier. When importing a ics file with recurrence I am loosing information I want to include namely which day of the week is used (See RRULE field). How can I get this information pulled in? Hey, guys. I have an issue with an integration of mine. I’m extracting a time from a string from Google sheets and then putting that time into Airtable. I want to put it into the duration field, but it will not accept it. Does anyone have any idea of how to format this correctly or work around the duration field paramaters? Thank you!
