Hello AT community! I have a question regarding creating formulas. In my base I have 2 tables: a recipe table with each ingredient in its own field, linked to my ingredient table. In the ingredients table I have several single select fields for each allergen that a particular ingredient contains. So let’s say I want to summarize the allergens in my recipe for lemon meringue pie. I’m using a frozen pie crust that contains dairy and wheat, allergens which are indicated as “yes” in their respective fields in my ingredient table, plus eggs (another allergen). Back in the recipe table, I would like to summarize all the allergens present in my recipe for lemon meringue pie, so I could easily look at the recipe and see that it contains eggs, dairy and wheat without having to go back to the ingredient table and look at each ingredient individually. Is it possible to create a formula to summarize all the allergens present in my recipe, within the recipe table? I’m an AT newbie so not entirely s

Hello, can I join three fields un one? I want to mix three fields in one automatically. Is that possible? I dont know wich rule I have to follow. In A I have different categories (A) which belong to another column (B); and I want to mix in a third field the categories which are the same. Is that possible? A: blue B=house; C= Carla=blue+ 13yearsold D: I want to mix in other names in C, the words that are the same. thank you Cristina

Hi all, this is my first post on the Airtable community. :slightly_smiling_face: I have a base that I use to track my FB groups activity. So I have a column with a checkbox to mark when I’ve completed something in that group. What I’d like to do is have those checkmarks automatically clear off at the beginning of each new week. Is that possible with a formula? If so, can someone point me in the right direction of where to get started? Thanks so much for any help! Valerie

Hi all, I’m quite new to Airtable and I’m trying to transition my logical thinking to relational databases from Excel but i’m struggling with something… I’ve recently imported an Excel worksheet into Airtable that contained form data and formulas on the same worksheet. In Airtable, I have been creating the tables I need and linking them to the main Data table where possible. In the Excel file, there is a form that I have also replicated in Airtable. The use case is that the form is filled out by a user and once submitted, a new line is entered into the Data table. The first 20 fields/columns within the Data table are for the inputted data from the form. The next 10 fields/columns are supposed to be calculations based on some of the data from the form and some data from other tables (vlookup from Excel). I am now trying to replicate the formulas that the Excel worksheet had (Vlookup) in Airtable but I don’t know how to use the value of another table in a formula of the current table. So

I run a pet relocation company and we have many clients who hold their pet files with us in case of a future move. We need a formula that red flags when a vaccination expiry date is imminent (e.g. in 14 days, in 28 days, etc). Really struggling with how we can incorporate this into airtable.

I have a scenario where I am mapping a Multi-Select Field in one Airtable Base to a Multi-Select Field in another Airtable Base using Integromat. The scenario requires the JSON Parse module in order to correctly parse the data to show up correctly in the 2nd Base. The Multi-Select Field can contain a variety of social media Channels, like Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc. The scenario works great unless I add in more fields beyond the ones that are being sent. For example, if I map it to where there are 6 potential Channels to choose from (Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tiktok, Snapchat) but only 3 are sent in the Scenario, those 3 extra fields will be sent as “null” and this causes an error in the Scenario. Is there any way to remove that null, so that the JSON produces THIS: {“Channel”:[“Twitter”,“Instagram”,“Youtube”]} instead of THIS: {“Channel”:[“Twitter”,“Instagram”,“Youtube”,null,null,null]} Thank you!

We’re making use of Airtable to help manage our delivery menu for bud.com. Airtable’s CSV Import Block helps to bring on new products for various regions into our overall catalog. Now we’re running into an issue with field mapping in the CSV Import Block: Airtable mixes up the fields to match as we import different spreadsheet, and there’s no way to quickly reset the import system. Details: We import a CSV of items from Sacramento using the Airtable CSV Import block. We have matching field names for the import data, so the fields show up matching immediately - hurray! We are importing fast. Then we go to import a CSV of items from Oakland. The Oakland fields are about 95% the same, but with a few different field names, and a different order to the fields. For this second CSV, even if they have many overlapping field names, AirTable will suggest non-matches - ignoring direct matches. So if we had matched these fields for a Sacramento CSV import: Published <= Published Weight (g) <

The formulas are calculating in real time, while I’m typing values in another field. Is there a way to set it to stop behaving like that and calculate only after I type Return?

Hi all, I am trying to format a field to show whether a deadline is “On Time” (before deadline due date), “At Risk” (same day as deadline due date) and “Late” (past deadline due date/time). Is this possible? I keep getting lost in my nested if statements and when I add another component, I am getting blank records. Thanks, Lauren

Hi all. I’m getting really happy about Airtable, but have one question I can’t seem to find an answer for (I’m sorry if it is actually obviously out there): I’m the owner of our workspace. Is there a way to temporarily “limit” my own permission to Editor? When I use the database for daily work, it would be good to know, that I can’t accidentally mess up the fields etc. I’ve used Knack previously and like the clear distinction between messing with the actual database and using it for work as intended. Hello Everyone, New to Airtable and enjoying it so far. I couldn’t find help on this and I am guessing there’s a better way to do this. Appreciate your help in advance. I want to followup in 10 days if a checkbox is checked, or 30 days if it isn’t. Here is an elaboration of the condition followed by the formula that gives an error: If the checkbox {A} is checked, {B} < 10 days “Looks Good” else “Needs Check In!”. However, if the checkbox is not checked, {B} < 30 days “Looks Good” else “Needs Check In!” Here is the formula that gives me an error: If ({A} = 1, IF(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), {B}, ‘days’) < 10, “Looks Good”, “Needs Check In!”), IF(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), {B}, ‘days’) < 30, “Looks Good”, “Needs Check In!”)) Thanks, Sunny

I am trying to retrieve all records from a table. The master view has filters on it that have to stay there for other business users, but I would like to retrieve all records without the filters with the API. More specifically, the table is filtered to records added in the last week, but I need all of the records from the beginning of the table. Is there a way to use the API to get all records even if the table in the browser has filters on it?

Hi, I have a subscription startup and we are using airtable as our backbone. In one table I have all the information of my customers with the usual information: name, address, email, phone number, etc. A couple of weeks ago we did a digital marketing campaign using Instagram where we gave a present to the health professionals to celebrate them and thank thank them for their service in this pandemic. In another table I have the instagram user name, name, phone number and address. Some of them turn to customers and now I do not have a simple way to check who are the new customers that decided to purchase a subscription. Is there any way to cross check both tables and find those that received a gift and are now customers? Adding a label or anything to identify them? Thanks in advance. Hope someone can help me.

First of all I would like to say thank you for everyone contributing to the Airtable Community, I have been saved hundreds of time by the ideas and solutions posted here. Now, I would like to pose a problem I’ve been dealing with: I’m creating a data base to keep record of project ideas pitched by a team. I want to be able to prioritize ideas from people who have already suggested something before AND had their idea chosen for further development. I managed to indicate all people that already submitted an idea thanks to this: Can I find unique values and put them in a column? Now I would like to have a field indicating if that person has had an idea picked for developement before, but I’m stuck and can’t find a solution. I have an array with all the people who have submitted an idea before, now I need to know the status of these ideas. I believe the way to do this is create an array for each recurrent user with all values from the idea status column so I could verify if any status is ‘

I’m an old Oracle DBA. My first day using Airtable and I like it already. Here’s my issue. I’ve been building my base creating tables and demo data to test my design. When linking tables I included the fields that would provide context in helping me select the right record to link. Looking back, I should have included a few more link fields to give my grids/views better context as well. How can I add these now without dropping/recreating these links and all my data? Any help would be much appreciated. Mike P.

I have 2 tables. One is for form submissions where people attending trainings enter their information and the numeric ID of the training they attended. The second table is key value pairs matching a training ID to its name. I need to look for the ID that matches the number the user entered and if found display the training name. If not found flag the record for followup. I will not have the people filling out the form select from the list of trainings as it will eventually be thousands of lines long.

I am wanting to know if there is a formula that can make a record use ALL CAPS like the picture. Ideally I would like for my First Name and Last Name inputs not to be in ALL CAPS, but would would like to have a formulas that mimics this style for the records. Hello, I have a field that based on a closing date of a sale, converts the closing date to the ‘dddd’ so as i can see which day of the week i sell most. If I have not closed the status of a product it shows #error in the value. I’d like tobe empty. DATETIME_FORMAT({Closed Date},‘dddd’)

Greetings! I’ve looked everywhere, but can’t find a way to jump from one letter to another in a column. I’ve just started a large research project, and have 1,110 entries, based upon LAST NAME. It would be fantastic if I could easily jump from where I am in the table to the beginning of the letter a new entry begins with, since I need to check for duplicate entries (not simply based on the last name…it’s more complicated than that). I’m familiar with the search function, of course, but that takes FAR too much time. I can use the keyboard shortcuts to get to the top or bottom of the chart in a flash, but that doesn’t help me much when I have to look up and see what I have (if anything) for Molly Mergatroyd! My team is using a base to hold client info for meeting attendees. We are all collaborators on this base. We each have our own sheets for our own projects (meetings) in the base (the first sheet is the database). We have a form in the database that we all send to potential attendees to fill out as a “registration form.” We have been using it for a couple of weeks and all has been going well, but just a few days ago, the form submission email (that we check at the bottom of the form) now goes to random team members and not the team member who sent the form. We have done several tests and have verified that we are logged in as ourselves and that the email at the bottom of the form is correct. As an example…my team member Katie sent the form to potential meeting attendees and she checked the box at the bottom of the form to receive an email when someone submits a form. Hi everyone, I am trying to import an airtable calendar into Outlook using an ics file. However, it appears that the owner of the calendar has everything coded as UTC when it should be in EST. Thus, when I import into Outlook, it tries to adjust into my local time and everything ends up in the middle of the night. I don’t have any ability to change the calendar itself, only viewing and downloading an ICS or CSV file. Is there any way I can edit the ics file itself so that outlook thinks the times are in EST? Though it may not be the place, this leads me to two other quick questions: If I import the calendar, will it automatically update if changes are made on airtable, or is it static from the moment I import it? Also, is there any way I could import only certain events after applying a filter? I can apply the filter I want on the airtable interface, but I’m wondering if I can basically apply that filter to an exported ics. Thanks so much!

Dear wizards of Airtable, We run a program for kids this summer. Within a timespan of 4 weeks they can choose which day they’d like to join us. On their last day, they get a “good bye gift”. Unfortunatly this is easily forgotten. Since we run our registration and administration thru airtable I was hoping for you guys might now a solution for this. I’m looking for a formula that kinda goes like this: IF: only on the last [sign up date] equals [today] status should change to, “good bye gift” For example: Johny is with us on monday, 4th, 5th and 6th of July. Only on July the 6th his status should change (not the other 2 days). The “sign up date” field is a multiple-select field. I need a formula (and probably a little detour) that understands which date is the latest date in the sequence. Thanks in advance!
