Good Morning Brilliant Friends! Is anyone aware of web based database tools that are ideal for data analysis and ongoing process capability analysis? Airtable is great for project management, but is extremely limited in it’s ability to crunch data. We could use Microsoft Access, but it’s not exactly intuitive and I am hoping to find a beautiful interface like Airtable, but focused on data analysis. Thank you! Paul Warren

As our business has grown over the last several months, we are finding a need to automate some redundant tasks. Is there a way that I could create a ROW in TABLE 2 when I add a ROW to TABLE 1 (When a certain field is VALID)? Furthermore, if this is possible - could I have the new linked row auto populate with fixed fields or information? Ex: Table 1 (Manual Input) ABC Liquors / 123 Boulevard / John Doe 123-456-7890 / … / Conditional Field that yields NEW ROW Ready to Launch? (Y/N) Table 2 (How do I add fixed fields in place, if possible) ABC Liquors / Ready To Launch / …general info… / (Y/N) / Fixed Fields / Anyone’s expertise is greatly appreciated!

I accidentally deleted my table when I was trying to delete a view. How can I recover this?

Hello, We use Airtable for confidential information. Is there a way to lock a view so that not only can our team not change the filter settings, but also not be able to duplicate the view? Also, is there a way to create a personal view, but for a group of people? Is there a way to keep people out of certain locked views? Something else that would be helpful is being able to customize the permissions of each user for each view. For example, I would like users to have editor permissions for Views A, B, and C but Read only permissions for Views D, E, and F. I know this can be solved by creating different bases, but because we can not link bases, copying and pasting records from one base to the other would allow the possibility of clients falling through the cracks.

Hello, I would really appreciate some help here. I have a big list of client birthdays, the majority of them are partial dates (DD/MM), but some are complete dates (DD/MM/YYYY). Hi all. Total AirTable newbie here, and I’m hoping someone can please point me in the right direction. I’ve started working with a charity that uses AirTable to track requests that members of the public file for COVID-related assistance. There are two tables involved specifically in what I’m trying to achieve: Requests and Requestors. The person making the request fills out a WordPress form with name, postcode, etc. which are fields in the Requestors table and details about what they’re requesting from the charity; these are fields in the Requests table. Within the Requests table, there is a field which is a link to the Requestors. We end up with a lot of duplicated rows in the Requestors table if people make multiple requests. What I’d like to be able to do is intercept the form when it’s submitted, check to see if there’s a criteria match in Requestors (say on name and postcode) and if so, assign it to the existing requestor. If there is no match, then it would create a new requestor

I just cloned the to-do list example to get familiar with blocks and it starts with a can not read primaryField of null when compiled. It’s a small fix with the code i found, this is just if anyone else finds it also for the airtable team to update their sample code. As I’m struggling to study and practice Script-Block and Custom-Block simultaneously while I’m supposed building an excellent airtable frontend, I don’t have an airtable frontend at the moment. In its current state, pory.io looks very attractive for a temporary airtable frontend for me before maybe one day I will find time to do much more with the same REACT needed for the Custom Block… But after a registration at 0$ to try it, I stopped: I can’t figure out who is pory.io at all. Do you know these Developers? I’m really not enthusiastic about giving my airtable API-Key to a site I can’t find the Owner, the office address, the phone, the company registration number… What does the CSO think about it ? Hi, I understand the idea of normalizing a database - and I see that I can create a column type for a drop down list. Why use a drop down list instead of a linked table? Is there a configuration/structural reason to do so, or is it just easier?

I have a table titled “BIO” where I’ve made records for each player on a football team. I also have a “REPORT CARD” table that includes a record for each player and a field for each player’s grade and a field for the players GPA dependent on their grades. This GPA is used as part of a disciplinary points system for the team. Points are stored in a separate “POINTS TRACKER” table. I’ve created a ZAP so that when a new record is added to the BIO table, a new record for that specific player is also added to the other tables. My problem is this: I used a linked field to connect the REPORT CARD and POINTS TRACKER tables. This allows me to pull that GPA score into the points tracker to be used to calculate a points system score for each player. However, when I add a new record, this linked field does not update the linkage for the new record. Any tips are appreciated!

I need to find a way of creating multiple views of all data from a table. Ideally I would like to create a table and duplicate the table in a way that if I edit the data on either of the tables it will auto update on the other table and I can set up different views and filters for each of the linked tables. I may want to show all tasks for one team member on one table and all tasks for part of the project on another table but be referencing the same data on each of the table veiws. The columns would be the same on each table, better still if you edit the column properties on one column it will update on the other. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Is there any way for a “Link” field to share the filter properties of a “multiple select” field? For example, when filtering a multiple select field, I have many options (e.g., has any of, has all of…) and I can toggle the selected options on/off. Seen in these 2 screenshots: However, when filtering a linked field, I have limited options and I have to type in the exact thing I’m looking for. Seen here: Is there anyway to get the link field to act like a multiple select field? I don’t suspect there is. But wondering what the roadblock is to making this happen. Can that be programmed? My current solution is suboptimal. Every so often I copy the multiple select field column and paste it into a column designated as a linked field. It works but require a lot of ongoing maintenance and if I change the name in one place, I have to remember to change it in the other field. It’s a hassle. I would love a way to allow Link fields filterable similar to multiple select fields. Any advice

Hi, maybe I its to obvious and I don’t get it - but how can I work with the outcome of a formula field? Every time I build formulas with which I want to “work further” with the outcome of another formula field there is no output (blank). Any idea how to make that possible? Thanks in advance Onur

I’m sharing a view of a table to a client, however, when I update the table, their view isn’t updated unless they refresh the tab. This makes it completely useless for me. I would add them as a collaborator but that would give them access to hidden data that I need to keep protected. Is there a setting or work-around for this? Thank you in advance

I would like to be able to automatically import contacts with the status “closed-won” into a sales tracking table. Example: I have a travel agency, so when a prospect goes into “closed-won” status, I have to do a different follow-up (hotel reservations, excursions, etc). I’d like the contact to be automatically transferred to the customer follow-up file when it is in the prospect file. I’m a novice on the platform, thank you very much for your help. Beautiful day. Hi all, I may be missing something in which case apols! I have two fields: an integer field and checkbox field. I wish to set the checkbox field if the integer field is >x. I can see how to simulate this using a formula field formatted as text and a ‘tick emoji’, but this doesn’t work for me as I need to link my base to an external system that uses airtable checkbox fields to construct filters. Alternatively, would be nice to flag a feature request for the formatting option ‘Checkbox’ for formula fields where the output is boolean.

Is there a way at present to debug a custom block on my local while building it? It would be great if I can such debug error like these with better and more helpful build time error messages.

But one of the requirements is that projects must adhere to a certain project numbering convention: XXXX-0000-X XXXX is a 4-letter code, specific to each of our clients (1000+) 0000 is a 4-digit number, which auto-increments starting at 0001 for each client (not globally, each client counts up) X is one letter, based on the project type Our current system generates this number automatically upon entering a new project. Let’s say that my client’s name is ABC Tool Company. They already have 96 projects in our system. I’m going to enter a graphic design job for them. The client’s unique client code is ABCT. The next project number would be 0097. The suffix for a graphic design project is G. All I have to enter on my project request form is the client’s name and the project type, and the system would automatically generate this code: ABCT-0097-G I’ve searched everywhere to figure out how to get Airtabl

We are an architectural and general contracting firm who is trying to set up an CRM base design using the different ‘Divisions’ (Electrical, Site, Roofing, Doors, etc.) used in building and construction. There are about 31 or so of them that we use and we would like to organize our Airtable so that each subcontractor is below the correct header (a roofer under roofing). CSI Standards What is the best way to set that up?
