Hi all, I may be missing something in which case apols! I have two fields: an integer field and checkbox field. I wish to set the checkbox field if the integer field is >x. I can see how to simulate this using a formula field formatted as text and a ‘tick emoji’, but this doesn’t work for me as I need to link my base to an external system that uses airtable checkbox fields to construct filters. Alternatively, would be nice to flag a feature request for the formatting option ‘Checkbox’ for formula fields where the output is boolean.

Is there a way at present to debug a custom block on my local while building it? It would be great if I can such debug error like these with better and more helpful build time error messages.

I am really new to the Airtable API and for some reason connecting the API this way did not work- at = airtable.Airtable('Base_Key', 'Airtable_Key') But I got it working this way - get_url = ‘https://api.airtable.com/v0/BASE_ID/TABLE_NAME’ get_headers = { ‘Authorization’: ‘Bearer API_KEY’ } Response = requests.get(get_url, headers=get_headers) Response_Table = Response.json() However, this fetches only the first 100 records and am reading about offset and pagination but I am unable to figure how to incorporate it into this code. I’m looking to use Airtable as a full project management solution for my company. But one of the requirements is that projects must adhere to a certain project numbering convention: XXXX-0000-X XXXX is a 4-letter code, specific to each of our clients (1000+) 0000 is a 4-digit number, which auto-increments starting at 0001 for each client (not globally, each client counts up) X is one letter, based on the project type Our current system generates this number automatically upon entering a new project. Let’s say that my client’s name is ABC Tool Company. They already have 96 projects in our system. I’m going to enter a graphic design job for them. The client’s unique client code is ABCT. The next project number would be 0097. The suffix for a graphic design project is G. We are an architectural and general contracting firm who is trying to set up an CRM base design using the different ‘Divisions’ (Electrical, Site, Roofing, Doors, etc.) used in building and construction. There are about 31 or so of them that we use and we would like to organize our Airtable so that each subcontractor is below the correct header (a roofer under roofing). I’m importing a google spreadsheet of workers and their trades. The sheet has over 11,000 rows (each worker = 1 row). There are 40 trades. Each trade has its own column, and there is an “X” if the worker is skilled in that trade. I converted each “X” into the name of the trade that it represents. I now want to combine all of the columns for each worker into 1 multiple select field so that each worker has one field where it lists all of his/her trades. Any ideas?

I will want to possibly create several different lists so that they can be choices for different drop down fields. Thank you.

I am creating a Master Calendar & Team Calendar system in Airtable, where each calendar update automatically updates/creates based on an update in the other calendar. I put together a system that created a “Unique Event ID”, which is a shared ID for the same event across both Bases. Everything is working great so far, except that I would like to delete records automatically in one Base if the corresponding record is not found in the other. There’s no Delete trigger in Integromat, so my workaround is: -The trigger is an existing “Update Record” automation After that automation completes, the automation will do a scan on both Airtable Bases. Is there any way to create a read-only table view that can be accessed anonymously via the API? I just want to be able to do a simple table lookup/mapping (with a filter formula) with a front-end Javascript call without exposing an API key (or having to host a back-end script on a 3rd-party server). Alternatively, is it reasonable to create a “collaborator” account with read-only access and expose that account’s API key?

I have recently configured the Map block on a few tables with a total of couple of hundred rows between them. A few days later I checked my Google Developers console to see how my geocoding API key was faring, and I was shocked to see ~18,000 requests for that key. If I open a Map block and the associated table simultaneously, I can see the geocoding cache column get updated repeatedly as I interact with the map — even though no data in those rows is changing. The gif below shows cell updates being triggered just while viewing/panning/zooming the map… Then, if I open up one of records in question, I can see a bunch of changelog entries of the form: “User X edited this record using Map block Y”… Can anyone explain what’s going on here? I’d like to keep using the Map block, but not if it’s going to blow up my API quotas simply by viewing the maps :frowning:

What am I doing wrong? How do I as the owner, make it so multiple users (<10) are able to view/update the database at the same time?

This may be outright impossible based on how Airtable is designed to be purely dynamic however, I would love to know if anyone has any solutions. Here’s the Problem: I am using Airtable as a Series Bible for my Fantasy Book series. It is a massive world with many plots and subplots, characters, themes etc. As I am writing the scenes and beats, I’m noticing Airtable is not persistent with the sorting of its records. In other words, I set up a series of scenes, then I filter and sort. When I remove the filter and sort, the scenes are no longer in the order they were created. This is maddening, effectively removing the usefulness of Airtable due to it resorting all records. Furthermore, I am aware of ‘Autonumbering’, however this isn’t much use when you decide to re-organize scenes or add a scene in between two existing scenes. The numbering immediately becomes irrelevant. How can I maintain the order of my scenes and still use sorting, but rest knowing it will be restored to the default

Hello, I am trying to gather information from my colleges on how they do specific tasks through out our building (some departments have the same tasks but are done differently, we are trying to accumulate all the data and compare). I have a grid view of all the tasks from all departments, but I am having trouble finding a way to track which department answers which questions and making sure that when a department does answer, the question can not be asked again (I do not want duplicate data if someone forgets that they already answered a previous question). Is there a conditional format I can use to accomplish this or will I need to find an external form builder? Thank you.

Hello everyone - Does anyone know how to send an email notification when an editable field within a record changes? I looked at Zapier and the only triggers are New Record or New Record In View. We have several scenarios where people want to be notified via email (not currently collaborators) when information changes. Many thanks for your insights and advice. Doug

Hello, I would like to be able to view various locations daily performance reports. Is it possible to have several different forms within one table and then create a view or report for each of the locations? I was thinking to create forms that can be completed for each location and then be able to view a report based on location or other criteria in the future.

Newbie trying to get my feet wet using a custom form to create new records. I am following the samples provided with the API documentation but the script completes before Airtable is able to finish it’s create function. I didn’t realize that was the problem until I threw in an alert() command to help me debug. That’s when the record would appear in my table. Looking forward to smacking my forehead when someone shows me some simple thing I am overlooking to stay in the script until Airtable is ready. Mahalo. I’m trying to roll up a bunch of different dates. I need them comma separated in an array, so I later can replace the comma with a line break to display them on top of each other. I’ve tried with ARRAYUNIQUE(DATETIME_FORMAT(values, ‘DD-MM-YYYY’)) in my roll-up field However this only works if there is only one date, but when there is more dates then they return ERROR. Is there a way around this?

Hello Airtable Community. I’m actually not sure if the subject is the right for this question but it’s the closest I could think of. I created a formula field to autofill out instagram.com prior to a profile name to save me re-typing it every time. (Thanks to Scottsworld for helping me with that) "https://www.instagram.com" & {profilename} Is there a way to only show instagram.com if a profilename is not empty? ie nothing will show in the formula field if profilename is empty. Hope this makes sense!

Is it possible to hide fields in the expanded view? Right now the expanded views is totally unusable. We have over 100 fields in our table, but only need to see 6-10 in the expanded view. Is that possible? Thank you!

I would like to lock the permissions of editing ‘duration field’ to creators and up (that is easy), but let editors to be able to include information there ONLY by using time tracker block. My goal is to lock to the possibility to change amount of time manually. So, I can use that time duration for billing purposes. However, the problem is: IF I set permission of editing for ‘creators and up’, Time Tracker block can’t be used by ‘editors’ (my general employees) IF I set permission of editing for ‘editors and up’, Time Tracker block can be used by ‘editors’ (my general employees), but they can ALSO change the amount of time of the duration field manually (non secure information). Does anyone know how to solve that situation?
