I am working with a new company that has five main areas I would like to manage using Airtable. These five areas operate independently but collaborate on the same projects, each contributing different inputs.Here is my question:Which is better: to have five different bases that sync (one-way) to a main base, or to have all five areas work in a shared base with individual tables and permissions?

Because automations are so limited in formatting options for email messages, I'm stuck having to create a bunch of extra fields solely to copy specifically formatted other fields and change them to flat text so they'll appear correctly when emails are sent.Because of this, I'm currently hung up trying to get currency to format properly. I have a formula field that outputs values as a currency into a field that we'll call "Dollar Total", including thousands and decimal separators. I was able to use a concat formula to get the basic copying done, including adding the $ manually at the start, but it doesn't handle decimals properly which then further complicates trying to get a formula to manually insert the thousands separator commas.For instance, if a value is "$14,500.00" it'll output as "$14,500" but if it's $14,500.80" all I get is "14,500.8". It'll go out as far as I do with numbers after a decimal, but if it's only zeroes it drops them, and then that breaks the man

Is there any way to archive a chart in airtable?I created some graphs using the airtable interfaces, the point is that one of these graphs represents how much I spent on each category in the current year until the current moment, so when the year turns, this graph is reset.I would like to be able to archive it or "freeze" it within the airtable itself, so I would have a year-by-year history to analyze in which categories I spent the most in that particular year.If it were possible, I would like an automation to copy this graph and archive this copy on December 31st, since on the first day the information will be reset. If this function doesn't exist yet, please think about implementing it, it would really be very useful. 

Hi all, Can one base be the central CRM and the content editable in all other bases? For example, one central base could hold the organizations (companies, etc.) and their contacts, while the other bases could be used by different team members. The central information would be in each base and could be changed.I've created an image and each square represents a base.  

When creating a form, we can limit the options the submitters can select. Is there a way to do a similar set up at the user level?I was thinking maybe, at the interface level, we'd be able to limit the selection of a single select field. But that doesn't seem to be an option. Maybe there's another way to do this? Here's my scenario:I have a dropdown that my users can edit, but I don't want to give them all the options. Maybe I split the options and connect them with formulas?I have an Inventory Table with a drop-down where users can change the status. This connector method exposed the PAT in cleartext. If I share the Excel spreadsheet, the user can discover my PAT and query other company tables. They would need to know different table and base IDs. If my computer storage gets compromised, the hacker will get access to this PAT. Hi all,I have a question about exactly when an 'update' change type notification would be sent via Airtable new Webhooks API.For example, say I'm writing some text into a 'Single Line Text' or 'Long Text' field, will my webhook subscription for 'update' notifications be called multiple times as the text is being entered, or will it debounce and wait some x number of seconds after I've stopped typing?In the documentation for webhook notification delivery, it states:If multiple changes occur in rapid succession, then we may generate only a single notification for them.Does typing text into a field, at a normal typing speed, fall into the category of 'rapid succession'?

HiWe are trying to build a form with the new Interface. We noticed an issue when adding a new Number field from the interface. The field will eventually be created in the base, but once we click on "Done" or Published, this is what will pop up in the form. The fields initially created in the Base will eventually disappear too, which is really annoying. Any ideas about what the potential issue might be? Thanks! 

From January 25th, 2022, we are rolling out a small change to the URL format for Airtable tables, views and records used by Automations triggers and actions. The change is that the base ID (appXXXXXXXXXXXXXX) will appear at the start of the URL. This change coincides with the recent decision to include base IDs in Airtable URLs throughout the rest of the product. The change in the record URL format will occurs in these places: The url property of a record output by a trigger/action. Hi. I want to create an agreement form to sign. The form will be made in fillout. There will be fields for name, email address etc to fill in in the form, however I'd like the legal agreement text to be automatically in one field in AirTable that will also show up in the Fillout form. Is there some way to do it or am I going about it a wrong way?

I have been looking for a solution to the issue of creating multiple-page quotations in Airtable. I have a quotation that is 6 pages long. I tried hacking the page designer by using custom-sized pages and dropping page size images as backround to create the various pages. It just doesn’t look right and never will. Also, you can’t email the quote directly from airtable which is an extra pain. I have been trying to evaluate Formstack as a solution. I have followed all the instructions in the videos but when I open the output document or save it in an attachment field in airtable the documents are black. I have tried to get help from formstack but they are taking an age to get back to me and I can’t go through what I am doing so that they can help me identify why it is not working. Has anybody else had this problem or offer any possible solutions? Thanks in advance Sean

Apologies - it's hard to write a subject line in what I need help with. I am trying to make a shotlist for a photoshoot, pulling product information from a non-editable base. Some products will be in multiple shots. Meaning product A could be in shot 1 (solo), shot 2 with Product B, and Product C. I am trying to figure out how to have Product A filter to be shown in Shot 1 and Shot 2. is this at all possible? 

When the lookup value is a field with multiple records, is there a way to filter the returned linked records and extract one field from it?For simplicity's sake, suppose that I have the following 4 tables1. Products - generic information about products2. Vendors - info about vendors3. vendor_products - products that vendors carry (i.e. vendor pricing), linked fields to products and vendors4. invoice line items - columns to select product, vendor, lookup field with vendor_products from vendorOn the invoice line item, I would like to be able to also filter the vendor_product by the selected product and then extract the price for it.  Is this possible?    

I am using LIST records API to retrieve data from the table.I am needing to get all the records every time. This is acceptable, but no ideal.My client's table has no field that mark when a row is created or edited/updated. Does this of function already exist? Many departments in my workplace heavily rely on automations. Towards the end of month, we sometimes reach a limit of around 30,000 and it's a hassle linking records manually.Earlier I just changed a filter and triggered 17,000 automation runs before I could disable the bad automation, which sends emails when a record is created in a synced view.... It's only the beginning of the month. I'm stressing out. I had optimized and sacrificed many automations; I undid all that work in an instant.What should I do to prevent automations from entirely stopping in two weeks?

I have a simple automation set up to send an email when a record is updated. The email includes a link to a Google doc for that particular record. The automation works most of the time, but I've run into situations where the URL for the Google Doc in Airtable gets modified when it comes through in email. For some reason, the underscores in the link get removed. See arrows in attached screenshot. The top URL is the correct one in Airtable, the bottom URL is what comes through in the email. I have other records in Airtable that also have underscores in the google doc URL and those comes through fine. It just seems to be random docs that this is happening with.Any ideas how to fix?

For the life of me can't figure this out...Imagine a non-human resource scheduling system (ie hotel rooms - not really, but close enough). We would like to be able to use timeline view to list all 'rooms' in the building, so that 'booking agents' can distribute incoming guests among available rooms.What we've done is create a table called 'rooms' and create a table called 'bookings', with bookings table having a timeline view, with records being grouped by 'room' on the Y axis and booking duration on X axis.The problem is that airtable timeline view only shows rooms that have bookings assigned to them. If a room has 0 bookings, it does not show us on the Y axis. How can we make it so that resources show up on the Y axis of the timeline, regardless of whether they have bookings on them? lack of this feature is the only thing holding us back from migrating from a 20 year old ERP system. the reason we can't use calendar or grid view for this i

 How can I make it 2024-08-31 6:30 PM PDT like how the record is in my airtable base? I don't want that T or Z at the end and the seconds and the decimal to be shown either.

I am working with make + airtable but when i try to write the date + time in my airtable with the data from make the date applies correctly but not the hour. It always insert 00:00 time. What is wrong here? thanks in advance.
