Hello, in a form, i ask people to select some items of a multiselect field. them i would like to create a new field with the complementary -> all items except the selected ones). do you know if there is a way to do that ?

Hi all,I've been searching a solution for creating (adding) an automation to table that is created via API call.Simplified process would be: 1. User adds a new project (to another system) [OK]2. This invokes process that creates AT table (to existing base) with all the needed colums etc. [OK]3. Turn automation on (via API), that sends data to another system when a "Status" field is set to "DONE".I know that I can achive this using a webhook, that listens field changed, but.. As the automations are already there, it would be more elegant process from maintaining perspective.Anyone countered the same, or found some other way to achive this?- EW

Does anyone know if it’s possible to access a list of a bases Automations (and corresponding steps) via Airtable API? If not now - does anyone know if it’s on their roadmap? Desperate for it :pleading_face:

All:I have imported data from an excel into an existing table in a base.  The existing table is called "Income Account Transactions."  There is another table called "Profit & Loss" that links to Income Account Transactions table. It  calculates data from the table.  The imported data is not calculating into the Profit & Loss Table.  What am I doing wrong?

Hello!I am appreciative of any help on this one! I have spend way to many hours of Youtube trying to figure this out. Problem: Cannot import a CSV file to a synced tableScenario: I have a new table that is synced to another base (that part is working perfectly!), but when I try to build out the new table it will not allow me to upload a CSV because the table is being synced. I have 450 columns (fields) that I need to add that have already been mapped out in an excel file. I would LOVE to save hours of manually creating each field and have it upload into the synced file. I'm not worried about it updating the records (rows), I really just don't want to have to manually add each column. Is there any other workaround I can try?!

i'm trying to make a formula to pull out the last name from a field that sometimes has full names in it & sometimes does not. i found this formula in a very helpful Airtable blog:TRIM(MID(SUBSTITUTE(Employer," ",REPT(" ",LEN(Employer))), (3-1)*LEN(Employer)+1, LEN(Employer)))this worked for me when i was parsing a field that always had "Title First Last" as the number of words. however, my new field sometimes has a middle initial. i changed the formula to (4-1) to account for the middle initial, but it doesn't work for names without a middle initial.i'm guessing there's a way to tell the formula to look for the word that is the right-most word separated by a space, but honestly i don't even fully understand this formula, so i'm not sure how to modify it.Here's an example of data in the original field & the output:

I have a table of 100 members of our makerspace. There's a ROLE field that is multiselect that has Lead, Board Member, Officer, etc.  9 of the members of the "Member" table have "Board Member" and I have a subsequent view called "Board Members" that filters to show all board members (and that have an active status).I want to have an automation on another table (Applications) that would send a gmail to each of the 9 members in the "Board Members" view/grid. Does anyone have an example of this?  FWIW, I want to include a url of a fillout form including the RECORD_ID() of the application record as well as a parameter of the email address to pre-fill the board members identifying information so when they approve/comment on the form we can identify the source board member.Thanks in advanceJeffPS: I know that on the free plan there are limits on sendmail to non-airtable emails, but that gmail might work instead.

Can someone give me some advice on how to update the yellow columns as shown in the example below?I have a fillout form that the approvers can update the approval status of the applicant. On saving and the record gets updated, I'd like the counts updated.  Would I do this on an automation of a record update of the member approval table?  

Hello to you all !! I’m facing an issue. I’m totally new on airtab and I’m trying to create a data base. I have a table where I will put a name of a project and a mutiple select fied with the companies that are in the project. I would like to create a data base for those companies and to be able to do so, i need to find a way to create an automation thats is going to take every company from the multiple select field and create one independant record for each one of them in my database table. I'm working on a tracking system for a coral restoration project. To report coral bleaching to my Bleaching Report table, a user selects a date and all structures where bleaching was observed (linked to my Structures table) like so:Bleaching Report table:I would like to add a new record for each structure along with the corresponding date to a different table, like so:Structure Bleaching table:I tried setting up an automation which triggers when a new record is created in Bleaching Report to create a new record in Structure Bleaching for every linked item in the Structures field, but it seems only 1 record is being created even when there are multiple structures linked in the field. I'd like to buy a book (or 2) on Amazon (or other) that I can use as a decent reference for scripts, formulas and other advanced topics and would love some suggestions. Given the ever changing nature of products such as Airtable, I want to make sure I buy something that is relatively recent that would have the newest features, or at least most of them.The basic stuff (field types, etc) are self explanatory to me, so hopefully a book that has more solutions than the core fundamentals of which I've mostly been able to learn with vids and the like. I know that the basics will be covered in any book, I just want to make sure the back part of the book with the advanced stuff is relatively deep in content, if that makes sense.

Hi All,I'm fishing for some ideas on how to structure my Project Tracking Base. Here's what I'm trying to do:I have Projects in a table, with a Project Manager, and Team members assigned from my People table. I do want to keep track of the role of each person on each project. This role can be different for each project they are working on, so assigning them to Departments or Roles in the People Table does not work.I'm hoping to not have to create another table (let's call it Roles for now), since it I think it will complicate the Interface. I want people to simply add team members to the Project in pre-defined roles.The other way of doing it (easier interface) means having a field in the Projects table for each role. Trouble with this approach is that new roles keep on being added (as needed on projects), and I can't be editing fields, forms, interfaces, etc. each time a new role is needed.Any suggestions on a better way to structure my base to acc

I'm building a task tracking app within airtable to use with Glide. I would like to do a rollup of total hours spent on each task bucket (four in total) for the current month, week and day. I cannot figure out how to do a sum of each task for those time frames as a numeric value and hours spent on each task. Any help appreciated.

I am attempting to create an automation when a record is created in a specific table that will see if that record exists in another table and if it does, update the record that was just created with a date out of the other record. I'm not sure at what point the automation is suppose to run for the new record being created, but it seems as though it is running too soon and not waiting for the piece of data it will use to look up the record in the other table. I hope that makes sense. If anyone has any ideas, i would appreciate it.

Hello everyone. I’m still new with Airtable but I’m trying to learn. I am integrated in a sports club, volleyball club. I’m trying with Airtable to make a table that updates results of games. The idea is that each team director can enter the results of a game in a simple way, and then get the complete list of results. Is there any template that does something similar? If you guys can help me I’d appreciate it.

Hi. I've got a base in AirTable which I need to be able others to update through a form in fillout. I only want specific fields to be updated by the form. In the case as shown in the screenshot I only want people to change the status and no other fields. When I chose to limit who can edit fields such as name, email etc to nobody but leave the status field as editable by anyone the form doesn't update that field. I only manage to update the status field when all other fields are editable but then it will obviously create an issue that will allow people to edit the base. The idea is that people would report status updates by the form and they would need to see certain fields of the form.  Could anyone point me to some resources on how to accomplish that? Thank you.

I have a base with different tables, each one linked to other bases. Is is possible to edit an attachment field? I am able to edit other type of fields, as for example, checkboxes, but not the attachment ones...

Hi there, I've started to play with AI features (love it!) but I'm experiencing issues with the AI field allowing to generate text.I want the AI to analyse text within attachments and return structured data. It works pretty well when analysing PDFs but it doesn't seem to work with HTML or TXT files. While field HTML is properly filled with a document (HTML in that case), the AI keeps asking to fill out the field.This also occurs when using TXT files but it works with PDF. Are you aware of such limitation or can it be considered as a bug? If that's a limitation, can someone think about a convenient way to store HTML data as plain text? When converting my HTML to PDF before upload, I'm losing the HTML as text since it's rendered as webpage within my PDF. I'm using Make (ex-Integromat) for that purpose.Thanks a lot for you help!

ciao,i'm having an issue which seems rather crude to me but i can neither work it out, nor find exactly relatable posts on here:i'm having a sales base for artworks, in which there is a field that links to a client-record from another base (contacts base which includes clients as well as artists). this i add manually when i set up a new sales-record. there is a second field which links to the artist of the sold work, which i of course also add manually.now i'd like for the link to go both ways, so that in the contacts base there is a field that automatically shows all the artists of who they've bought works in a clients record drawn from the sales base as well as a field that shows in an artists record, which clients have bought works by them.i hope i'm not being super redundant here, thanks heaps!

Hello Airtable Community, We have an Airtable list with our internal communications.Now we have some communications that take place at regular intervals (X weeks).I just can't manage to build an automation that creates a new record for each of them.For example, every 14 days for the next year a record with start, end date & name. Any ideas on how to do this? Many thanks and best regardsMirko

In Langchain, it can use chains like SQLDatabaseChain to utilise the power of NLP and convert the user input into SQL query code (JS or Python) then execute the code to retrieve what is needed from SQL database such as PostgreSQL.Does airtable support such query and would possibly be supported by Langchain in the near future?I guess if the script can be made and executed at the back end for each customised query, that would also work, is that feasible? Hi Airtable community, I am looking for AI tools with which I can query our team's Airtable database with. It's a massive database with about 5000 entries, and each record contains a vast amount of information. The idea is that we can query the Airtable with questions regarding the data.I worry that existing AI add-ons will not be able to handle that amount of information. Does anyone have thoughts or recommendations on what an appropriate tech setup would be for this?

Let me explain:I’ve set up a base for project management where each project has different tasks based on the program type (and there are multiple programs). Ideally, I want to create a form with a predefined task list, allowing Project Managers to fill in details such as start date, assignee, end date, status, etc., without having to manually enter each task name.Is this possible with Airtable’s Teams plan?
