I’m trying to make an extension that generates a file using base data and then re-uploads that file back to Airtable. However, I’m not able to find any way to access the upload attachment HTTP endpoint from within the Blocks SDK. The API reference only shows examples of “uploading” attachments using public URLs.Is there any way to access this functionality (properly) from within a blocks extension? Or alternatively some sort of internal PAT or similar I can use to make the POST request without hardcoding something that will be exposed in the browser?

Airtable has two nice features:In Interfaces you can launch a “Create Record Form” from an existing record and it will pre-populate the “parent” record value in the appropriate field. Hi, I’m new to using Airtable. I create a Gantt view when I set up dependencies between some  milestones. I noticed  that in my Gantt view when I have  milestone that is dependent on another milestone, even if I move the first milestone it does not affect the milestone that is dependent on it. however, when a milestone is dependent on a task that has a duration, the change is reflected.Milestone 2 depends on Milestone 1  After moving Milestone1 one day later , Milestone 2 remains due for the 25th. I expected it to move 1 day later    

Hi Any idea when Airtable will update its markdown syntax to accept inline images? I love to send emails with Airtable automation, but I can’t find a way to integrate my signature to emails !

Has anyone seen this message before when trying to sync and emailed CSV file into the base?“Unable to sync this source. A field in this table has too many select options, so no new select options can be synced”.How do i fix this? 

I am building an app that will use the Airtable API to export and format data from many tables within our base. I am pushing my code to a public GitHub repository.I am obviously treating the API key(s) as secrets and not pushing them to my repo, should I also treat the base’s ID value as a secrets value? What about the table IDs?

We manage the complete supply chain and on site coordination. Building a detailed inventory of all items for the ship and keep track is one of our tasks. Now, we work with barcode tracking which means we have to assign a barcode to a record (primary field = barcode). This can be done by scanning the label (regret to say that, but the Airtable mobile app sucks!) , or manual input (risk of typos), or third party scanning integration. Hello! I’ve had this issue for some time now but finally have the time to sit down and really figure it out. Except I can’t figure it out. Base 1 has Table 1, which is synced to both Base 2 and 3. Base 2 and 3 are not allowed to create new records, I have to go back to Base 1 to add records in. Syncing is enabled for both (see below). I need to be able to edit Table 1 from all 3 bases and have the changes show up for each base. Base 1 settings: Base 2 settings (same as Base 3): Message when I try to add records to Base 2: 

Having trouble with another automation. I’m trying to make an automation that will send an email to an assigned care worker, when one of their assigned clients (global worker) has not had a touchpoint in more than two weeks. I’ve mapped it to send an email to their email ID from the linked table, but it’s saying “Invalid email address in the "to" field: fldoiK6gc9Jd7MMgy”. Hey all, I’ve got another (hopefully) easy question for y’all.IF({Rental Fee}="", "", {Rental Fee} / {Open Duration})Here’s what I’ve got. Open Duration is another equation where I used DATETIME_DIFF to calculate the number of months (success!). Rental Fee is a currency field where I plug in the numbers. What I really want to do is see how much the rental fee came out to per month.Cool thing is that the IF field is working well enough, I only get #ERROR! on the fields where the equation is applicable. Not cool thing is the whole #ERROR! message bit. 😂 If rental fee is $10,000 and duration is 10, then why am I not getting $1,000?I can’t figure out what I’ve done wrong. Any thoughts? Greetings, I’m new to Airtable.I want to run a script to delete field columns that contain the word (SS)I get this error:“deleteFieldAsync available: no⚠️ Your current environment/role does not support deleting fields via script.Please run this in Extensions → Scripting with a Creator role, or delete the fields manually.”I am the Owner of the base.I am in extensions → Scripts and running this script from there.Why is it not allowing me to delete if I am an Owner and I am running the script from extensions?Thanks!

I’ve been trying to make formula to proper clean person name, but the result is weird. It’s like the LOWER() function dominates the whole result even though I put it in the middle… is this a bug?if I remove the LOWER() it only works if you dont meet with the all capital names (Like “JOHN DOE WHITE” would stay the same)I even tinker with internal AI and Copilot with the same results.I basically just want to make start with Capital, clean all unnecesarry whitespacesCan somebody help me?   

Hello, I am pulling in data via json API and need to know where to go from here?  I have a table (sales team) that has the "salesrep id" and I need to map in the ytd sales data for each salesrep id. I am not sure what to do next to loop through the json object data and map them accordingly.  

Hi there, I’ve got a bookkeeping base I created and added an Auto-categorization feature that’s giving me some trouble. Basically, there is a Transactions Table, a Categories table, a Merchants table and a Rules table. In the rules table, you add the match terms you want the automation to look for, and a linked field with the category you want it to be. The way the automations works is this: record is created in Transactions, triggers automation automation looks to see if any match terms in the Rules table match up with the text in the transaction name if there’s a match, automation runs a script to fill in the category and some other fields (like “merchant”, which is a combo of the Vendor name that comes filled in from the bank plus the transaction year, and “payment type” etc) for the transaction in questionI confess I’m not adept at scripting and enlisted the help of ChatGPT to work this out. It seems that the number of lines that the view moves in a single "scroll-notch" from the mouse wheel is the same in any cell height.This feels very unnatural (scrolling the same distance is expected, not the same number of lines).With taller cell heights this means that the entirety of the lines that are visible are new lines after scrolling a single scroll-notch away, which leads to the worrying ambiguity of "what if I have scrolled past some of the lines" since you don't have any lines that are common to both positions that may serve as visual reference points.The only workaround is to click on the scroll bar and drag it, which is not as ergonomic as having a proper scroll.This has been somewhat mentioned in this other question from 2021 "Adjust Mouse Wheel Scroll Sensitivity?"  which doesn't have a single answer.

I have paid the invoice which failed yesterday. I had automatically been downgraded to free plan. However even after paying the invoice when I try to upgrade, it takes me to billing and then says we cant charge your card right now.

Hi all, I’m building an interface to help the tutors at our company guidance students in writing their supplemental essays for college. I have a base with two tables:Table 1: US Colleges (which has a list of US colleges and what they each look for in applicants; the primary field being the college name) Table 2: Supplemental Essays (which has the list of supplemental essays required for each college; the primary field being the essay prompt itself, and there’s a link record field to link each essay prompt to the relevant college in the US Colleges table)The interface I’m building is a Record Review, and I picked Table 1 (US Colleges) as the linked table so that the data can be organized by college.Everything works great when I’m editing the interface, but when I open the public view link, the records from Table 2 (Supplemental Essays) aren’t showing.  How do I fix this? Hi Everyone.  I have a reseller company selling my products.   I need to pay them rebates every month.I have drawn up a table to track sales as they are made.  It will then also pull through the rebate amount to each month’s column based on the contract start and finish date.I now want to create a dashboard that the reseller and I can view every month to see the total amount of resales for the month.  IE. I want a chart showing each month’s total rebate.  I would also like to setup seperate dashboards showing for example the number of active contracts, how much rebate is owed to each different sales person, etc….Can anyone please assist/guide me with this on how to get the information into a dashboard.  I have created the dashboard similar to this excel file but Just not sure how to pull over the data for insights as I am struggling to get all the months into one chart.

Hi everyone! I’m working on an automation that needs to create records based on two linked lists, for example: A list of projects A list of team membersQuestion 1:Is it possible to have an automation that loops over the projects list and, inside that loop, creates records for team members only if the record doesn’t already exist? In other words, can I add a condition inside a repeating loop to check for existing records before creating new ones? Question 2:Is it possible to have nested loops in Airtable automations? Or are there any workarounds to loop over both projects and team members together to automatically create every combination without hardcoding? Thanks so much for your help!

I can’t figure out how to make links between two tables work the way I need them. Here’s the situation:Table 1 contains a list of Companies. These Companies are differentiated by Type (multiselect) and split into multiple views based on that: Producers view and Architects view.Table 2 contains a list of Projects. Each Project has a Project Owner field (link to Companies, single record) and Project Participants field (link to Companies, multiple records).So far so good.
