Hi. I find it helps to think of this as similar to updating the number of available stock-items after an order. 😊I have a 'claims' table where each record is a tutor claim - per student. Each claim contains a 'number of hours claimed' field. I then have an update record automation which passes that value to a 'hours last session' field in my 'student' table.Now, in my 'student' table I need a new automation to run each time my 'hours last session' field is updated, to take that value and add it to a 'total hours used' field, Essentially, a running total.It seems simple but I just can't seem to find a way of doing this!Any help would be very much appreciated! Hi! I am working on building a database to build donor records from donation records, and I'm trying to build an automation that updates any donor's name and contact information to match their most recent donation.The automation is triggered when the Last Donation Date field of a donor record is updated. Next, a find operation retrieves the donation record associated with that date and donor, but working with the donation record from that point consistently produces the following error messages:"Fields" could not be converted to a stringReceived invalid inputsFor example, I try to update the Name field (string) of the donor record with the Donor Name field (formula) of the donation record. I only want to do so if the Donor Name field is not empty. When I check for emptiness in the find operation, it is successful, but if I check for emptiness with a Conditional logic group, it triggers the "Received invalid inputs error."

I manage a team of project managers and one of the things I'd like to use Airtable for is notifying our accounting department of when certain billing landmarks are reached so they can invoice. Currently I'm able to set up multiple automations per project for each landmark but have run out of automations. I tried to consolidate by adding multiple project numbers to the same automation or multiple landmarks that would need to be reached to the same project number but need the ability to use "and" as well as "or" in an automation. Right now, it seems I can only use one or the other.For example, I need to be able to set the condition to be as follows so an email is sent when either of the following is met:When 'Project Number' is 'A405' OR 'A406'and 'MLR status' is 'MLR 1'orWhen 'Project Number' is 'A405'and 'MLR status' is 'MLR 1' OR 'Status' is 'Live'Is this something that Airtable supports? Can anyone think of any workaround if this isn'

Hi. My real-world application uses an 'update record' automation to pass the last date and number of hours of a client session to my 'client' table as 'last session'.I need a new automation to run each time that field changes. I want it to look at my 'number of hours allocated' field (each client is allowed a fixed number of hours), and deduct the new 'last session hours' from it, to show 'hours remaining'.It seems simple but I just can't seem to find an elegant way of doing this. Originally I thought it might be possible in a formula, but of course I can't reference the field the formula is in.(I'm thinking of this as similar to keeping track of number of available stock items)

Hello!I'm new here and new to Airtable, but I was looking for some help if it's possible 🙂I have a table with bookings and I want to run an automation at the beginning of every week that groups all the upcoming bookings that are relevant to each individual person in the bookings, to send them an email with an overview of all their upcoming appointments.It's easy enough if I do it for each booking individually, but then one person might receive 3 emails with each booking which I am trying to avoid.I have been playing around with the Find Records function in the automation, where I can create an array of all the upcoming appointments for the week but I don't know how to dynamically find and group the records based on the persons name. At the moment, I just have a list of all the bookings.Is this something that is possible in Airtable? and how can I go about it?Thanks for your time!

Hi, I am having issues with my script (screenshot attached)... can someone help me understand why it cannot find the record? My intent is to have a table record update every field that is a record in the in another table with the content field.

I have an automation set up to find linked records from another table. The problem is, it won't run! It just says in progress. What am I doing wrong? If this is a rate limit issue (I have 458 records), how can it be avoided? 

Hi there - I am having trouble creating automations to change the status of a single select field based on start and end dates.Example 1 - I need the status to change from "Scheduled" to "Live" once a start date has passed. As in, if a class has a start date of 1/5/24, then this record would switch from "Scheduled" to "Live" once 1/5/24 begins.Example 2 - I need the status to change from "Live" to "Completed" once the end date of the class has passed. I set the automation trigger for "When a record matches conditions" If END DATE is before today. The action step is "Update record" but this is where I believe I'm having trouble getting the automation to read the entire table and make all applicable changes.Attaching screenshots of what I tried based on END Date, but it did not work. Any help is appreciated.

Hi all!Maybe someone has solved a similar problem.I'm making a kind of task tracker, but I can't solve the following problem.If a task (record) is created with several responsible people, I need the automation to work and split one record for each responsible person separately, that is, for 1 record to have 1 responsible person, but initially the ability to create a record for several people remains.The resulting flow is as follows:1) A record is created through an interface with several responsible persons2) Automation creates similar records by alternately assigning one responsible person to each record until the number of responsible persons ends3) The first task created through the interface is either deleted or the first responsible person is assigned to itHow can such a problem be solved?

Hello All!I'm trying to make the Airtable search function in Make/Intergromat say "IF a google drive file name contains an Airtable content id, then show me that record" so I can then add the files web view link to the record.  So the finished automation would be: WHEN "finished file" is uploaded to "finished folder" THEN add the google drive link to the records Finished URL field The current formula im using us IF(FIND("{{1.name}}", {Title}&""), "yes", "no")It's "working" but the results are unrelated to the file name... see screenshot What forumla should I use to tell Make/Intergromat to search for the record?

I want to make absolutely sure that the automation will never run again on that record under any circumstances, - even if I accidentally change a field and the record records a new modified date/time.Is this possible please?

I'm fairly new to Airtable and have a question as I'm building my database.I've found it helpful for me to assign "focus times" for tasks independently from their due date in previous systems, so I added a Single Select field named "Status" that has several options: Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Backlog, Completed, and On Hold. I have attached a screenshot of how that looks.Is there a way to create an automation that (at midnight) automatically updates anything with the Tomorrow status to have a Today status instead? I was able to create an automation to change a singular record, but I failed to find a method to update them all. Hello all, I have a question, and hopefully there's some type of solution to this issue. I managed 3 properties, but for now - we can just focus on 1. Property A has a total of 100+ units. When an end user fills out the form - they type in the unit number - and this is how I have my automation set up:As you can see from the above image, I have a find record and it will update that record for it's respective tenant. Example: The concern here I'm facing is, because Property A has 100+ units, is there a simpler way of creating automations to find records for each unit?Here's a view of the configuration for Property A, finding the "101" integer:

Hey y'all, hoping you can help me solve a thorny issue. We use Airtable in a big way across all of our teams, and we've built a Daily Duties board to give ownership and sightline to the must-happen daily needs of the business. Individual team leads assign their team members to the tasks weekly.The issue I'm having is in maintenance - currently we are duplicating the empty records weekly which is cumbersome and time intensive. I'm sure there is a way to do this via automations, but the issue I run into is date/time fields - running an automation to create records at a date/time, but neither configuration for start/end time - static or dynamic - is getting me what I'm looking for. We have both a start and end time so that it can be easily shown in a calendar view like the attached image. Any advice? I've bopped around here on the boards for a bit now but haven't found a particular case that matches what I'm looking to solve. Thanks!

I am working to automate a process that feels like I should be able to script but have been struggling. Admittedly I am new to scripting so I may not be understanding how to structure this, I have asked around, tried to get an assist from Chat GPT, and poked and prodded this along but the final outcome has eluded me. Let me break down the intended function and drop the code in. Any help is greatly appreciated.  Intended function:The automation is initiated when a record enters the "Meetings" view of the "Connections" table, there is a text field called "Attendee Emails" where a formula has collected and concatenated emails using ", " as a delimiter. We are passing that through to the script as an input variable called "attendeeemails". What we need is for the automation to go through the string stored in "attendeeemails" and pull each email out one by one, and check each individual email against the "Email" field in the "Full view" in the "People"

HiI would like to create a number field "recall" that each time the record is update make something like that: recall = recall +1.I used the automation with the update record filter and I try to apply formula on the recall filed by used a formula like tahs: SUM({recall}, 1) but it is returned an error about the format of the value.Do you have idea how to increment the value?For the moment I fixed by add string +1 and the result is "+1+1+1+1+1" for each time the update is execute.Thanks
