Hello, I have a simple question, I think. Apologies in advance if I have not explained this clearly. I am considering using AirTable for a specific application but don’t know if this is possible. I am trying to do a turn key system that will not require the manual step of setting up a user and sending a link for access. User clicks on an a URL to setup an account User receives email confirmation and logs into their account User enters information into a form Data is aggregated into master table User has the ability to go in at anytime and update their account information as well as any data they provided Thanks!
Hello, I have a large collection of community resources for trans and non-binary people, organized with several tags and categories. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to share this with the community at large. If I share a read-only link, it can be confusing for newcomers. Even with a base description pop-up that explains how to use it, that won’t help a return visitor who forgot what it said on their first visit. They may not visit very often. I would love to embed the airtable on my webpage (on Wix), but the frame for the embed is not nearly wide enough. At that point, there’s so much side-to-side scrolling that it’s obtuse and even more confusing to use. What’s the best way to make this base widely available AND easy to access? I know that’s not the assumed application of Airtable bases. Thanks for your help!
I work as a help desk tech support rep for a college. I answer phone calls and emails to help students, faculty and staff. I was looking for ways to build a wiki documentation and possibly a flowchart: (1) The wiki documentation would be for someone needing to know about the school help desk position if I wasn’t there to teach them. By the time they read up on the wiki documentation they would know everything possible to perform the job. Yes, I understand Airtable is more of a database but maybe the information it holds in teaching documentation could work to the viewer. (2) The college has many departments that are in charge of different things. For example, questions about software would go to a particular group on campus and so on. The flowchart would be for connecting these questions: "I have this problem, who do I go to for this or what’s the next step in accomplishing this?” Again, I have an understanding of what Airtable does but though it could work. Besides using a CRM applica
Hi - I run a subscription business in which members pay monthly based on 3-, 6-, or 12-month contracts, and each has a pay-in-full or monthly option. I’m looking to build a base that will track their payments by month so I can know how much future revenue is expected each month. I’d like to know the specific date the payment is due as well as the amount due and whether it’s been paid. Thank you!
I was surprised not find any documentation on how to move a table to another base in a workspace. Is this not a supported function? I realize I can export and reimport but that is clunky and I expected a built in option for this.
Hello Community! Happy New Year! I’m trying to build an inventory table and there’s just a small detail that I cannot figure out… It’s easy to use a rollout field to add and substract items, but we monthly manually count the inventory and update any differences… how would you do that? I have a form where staff inputs product sales and buys, including a checkbox to mark that the quantity is not to be added/substracted but it’s the current inventory level. Any clues? Thank you so much!!
Hi, I have a requirement that needed to be solve by using (as if a) store procedure. I going through list of app available and didn’t find any, the closes one is scripting but I aware the script only can be run manually. I need something like scripting but can be trigger by front end. Any suggestion will be really helpful, thanks in advance.
Hi folks! I have a table that lists some projects, with a field for the people working on that project. This is linked to a table of people. I’m trying to figure out how I could capture the work individual people do on individual projects (eg. Person 1 spends 50% of his time on Project A, and 50% on Project B, Person 2 spends 100% of her time on Project B). The project column in the people table shows all the projects on one line. Would appreciate any guidance you can offer. (I come from a SQL background but struggling to get my head around how to do this in Airtable. Thank you for being patient!)
@Bill.French , thanks for the recommendation on my last post. I am unable to reply to the thread I created so I am starting a new one. How could I get in touch with @openside Dan?
Hello, We now use Airtable for free to administer the articles for our magazine. However, we now intend to market the magazine electronically using airtable pro. After payment, a member or collaborator will receive a read-only invitation whereby he or she, depending on the membership, will be given the choice to access these topics and / or volumes for one or more subjects and / or one or more years. In other words, he or she can only access certain parts of the workspace. Can that be achieved with a Pro version?
Good afternoon, I am wondering if there is a way to copy all the fields from one table into multiple tables in the same project. For example: I have multiple stores in each state. So each state will be its own table. I want the fields (the top row) to be the same for each state. In a excel spread sheet I can copy the top row and past it into additional sheets in the workbook. Is there a way to do that in Airtable. I hope i explained that correctly. Thanks so much.
I’d like to make a filterByFormula API request within Airtable to return a list array of record IDs that match my query based on the field inputs in a record from a separate table. Ideas? It’s similar to the Vlookup discussion.
I am creating a base that has 4 different tables. ‘Books,’ ‘Authors,’ ‘Themes,’ and ‘Quotes.’ I want all of these tables to be linked. My current issue is with the ‘Quote’ and ‘Theme’ table. When I enter a new quote, I enter the book, author, and theme. When I go to the ‘theme’ table, it shows the quote but is not linking with the ‘Book’ and ‘Author’ tables, meaning that I have to go in and manually add the book and author in the ‘Theme’ table. Why does this information not transfer from the initial entry on the quote table? Thanks in advance for the assistance! -Erin
Hi Airtable community, I have a basic table for my content calendar base. In the simple table, I am categorizing each article we publish by Genre using the Single Select feature. I need to figure out a percentage formula that breaks down the total number of articles by genre and reflected in a percentage breakdown. In other words, I’d like a column that list, for example, 20% Rock Articles, 50% Rap Articles, 20% Pop articles. Here’s how I have my table set up now. Any suggestions now how I should begin this?
Does AIRTABLE allow for pausing a form and going back to complete? I found a comment from 2017 but wanted to check in now for status of change on this ask. Need some forms to be programmable to pause and return. thanks, M. Trigueros
Hi there We have a two-step job application process via two forms. Is there a simple way to merge them together once they have both been submitted? Thanks Neil
HI there, I am trying to set up a music library and would like to use the standardised music ontology that exists: (musicontology.com / https://github.com/motools) Is there a way of using an existing schema and importing it in to airtable to create the relational database without having to recreate it by hand?
Hello community! I may be in over my head but so far I love the way Airtable organizes things but can’t get it to work for me yet. I am a producer and have an ecommerce website and sell about a dozen items online using Webflow. I am trying to set up a base to help me track my sales and inventory and because some of my products come in different sizes and colors and I am having a real hard time extracting the pertinent information from my imported orders CSV file and organizing it so that I can use it. Here is a screenshot of my imported table, maybe I just need the right formula? Thanks in advance.
I am a newbie and would LOVE to learn from your journey. I got to the first “try this” in the user documentation and I struck a brick stop sign. If you are in a generous mood, please contact me. Thanks!
I’d like to have a colorful to do list. Something like Cool Memo & To Do Tasks Colourful Reminder Notes - Apps on Google Play except the ability to color the background of each field as well as all the other stuff. I’ve done some research and cannot find an app or a Windows program like this. Sometimes black text on a white background is too harsh on the eyes. Excel has very nice fill colors, for example. Thanks!
I am trying to set up a base for customs declarations one field is customs category which is a single select field. I would like the adjoining field which is customs code to automatically populate with the appropriate code based on which customs category is selected. It appears some sort of linked field/lookup is required but I am a novice and cant figure it out
Whereas I am happy to create a nice overview by “gallery” view, I struggle now to show everything I would like to see there: with a link field - multiple records allowed - the gallery view shows only one line and not all content. How can I enforce the display of the whole content in the gallery view (and not only after double click on one card)?
I’m developing a real estate website focused on condo buildings in the Washington, DC metro area. I’m housing the data in AirTable and via Zapier, it will create/update pages in WordPress. Two of the tables I have are for [condo] Buildings and Metro [stations]. The Metro is the subway system in Washington, DC. There are roughly 2500 condo Buildings and 100 different Metro stations. A Building will be near zero or several Metro stations. In the Building table, there are 3 fields that contain the names of Metro stations that are: Field 1 - within a 1/4 mile Field 2 - between 1/4 to 1/2 mile Field 3 - between 1/2 to 1 mile Each of the fields can have 0 to several Metro station names. An example would this abbreviated record for the building Turnberry Tower: Building Name: Turnberry Tower Field 1: Rosslyn Field 2: Courthouse, Pentagon, Virginia Square Field 3: Metro Center, L’Enfant Plaza I would like to relate each Metro station name to the corresponding record in the Metro table. Do I ne
So I am trying to make a table where we have all the different products we sell on a weekly basis. At the end of the week I want to input the number of each product sold under that products field. That’s the easy part I think. But how do I enter new numbers each week while not erasing the old ones while simultaneously adding the numbers I put in every week to a master table that just shows the number of products sold by each rep.
Hi, I’m building out a base to track plant inventory in a nursery. The way it should work is I receive plant material, and assign values to several fields in a Table called “Receiving” Once the material is added to the system, an automation adds it to my main “Nursery Inventory” Table Here’s where I’m stuck. Let’s say I order 500 seeds, I plant 100 of them, 98 of them sprout. then they go into “hardening” phase. while in that phase 5 of them get sick and need to be quarantined, another phase. In the end we sell 97 of the original 100. I want to record the receipt of the 500 seeds, subtract 100 from that, hold them in a phase/location for a period of time, subtract 5 from that and move them to a “sick phase”, move the remaining 95 to a third location/phase, add 2 back to the 100 in the 3rd phase, and then ultimately record that we sold 94 of the 100. Then with the remaining 400 seeds, I want to do it all over again. Basically, I need a way to track my inventory through a series of phase
