Description:I am looking to create a photo contest application in Airtable for a pageant where users can view contestant profiles, vote for their favorite contestants, and manage the entire contest flow. SetupContestant Profile Section: Each contestant can upload their photos, provide personal details (name, age, hometown, etc.), and add a bio. This section should display contestants’ information for voters to view.Voting System: A voting mechanism where users can cast their votes for their favorite contestant. Each user can vote once per day, and votes should be tracked and counted in real-time.Voting Results Dashboard: A dashboard for tracking and displaying current vote counts for each contestant, including graphs or charts for quick visualization.Admin Panel: A panel for managing contestant entries, approving photos, and monitoring votes. It should also allow the admin to disqualify contestants or flag suspicious voting activity.Voting Restrictions: Ensure that each user
Hello,We've got a destination base (called overview) with dozens of sync source bases and recently enabled two-way sync, mainly so we could assign projects from the overview base. When a user field is updated on the overview and the field is set to notify users when they are added, it seems that the email they receive has a link to the overview record and not the sync source record. Is this a setting that can be adjusted, or do I need to think about a workaround with automations? Most of our team will work in the source bases and not the overview, and there are fields that aren't synced which they use.I've also found that if I turn off the notification setting on the overview (but not the source base) the assigned user doesn't receive any email at all. Thanks
Hi all - I work on a team that manages contracts and all of our data lives in Airtable. We use Favro, however, to track cross-team work to resolve post-contract enrollment issues. I then create a new row in a "Post-Enrolled Issues" table of our base that is linked to the primary contract table so that we can maintain visibility on each contract's issues while also reporting on summaries in an interface view.Double data entry, however, is no bueno. I have played around with and considered transitioning from Favro to a kanban view in Airtable, but without going into detail, have decided not to pursue this further.I'm therefore wondering if anyone here has experience integrating Airtable and Favro? I did ask a colleague check it out and they said, "The biggest problem I’m having with Zapier is that it will only pull one field from Airtable and make a new card with that field as the card name, so it’s not any more efficient than doing it manually. I’m thinking we might have to get someone
Hi, I'm very new to Airtable, but I couldn't find a solution for my issue. Maybe there is one that would make my life so much sweeter :)) Let's say we have a product and this product has 2 options: Machine 1 or 2 which machine to choose depends on another single select field in another record, with options 1 or 2. now want to use an automation if 1 is 1 create new record with 1. but somehow string arrays can't be accessed in automations. I'm trying to solve everything no-code, maybe thats the issue. thank you so much for your help. Kind regards
Hello I was wondering if there is a way to automatically populate dropdown options from data in either the same or a different table. For Example, if I have a sheet that has 5 rows (apple, banana, orange, grapes, and lemons) in one column. Then if I want to automatically add (apple, banana, orange, grapes, and lemons) into the dropdown options in another table? Is this possible? Basically, I will be adding other options in the future and I want them to automatically add to the dropdown options if they are in another table in the same base. This is just an example, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
I've given my office manager shared access to a base as an editor. We both work from this same base throughout the day. I like to sort some of the tables in the base a certain way depending on what I'm working on, but she doesn't need them sorted that way and I don't want the table to suddenly look different on her end if she needs the table to be sorted the way it normally is. If I sort a table, will she see it sorted that way on her end too?
I am working on a seating chart for an event that has 150 tables of 10 and want to create a base that will help me assign people to tables, track how many open seats I have at a table etc. Any suggestions?
Hello. I'm brand new to airtable. Less than 2 days. I'm struggling a lot. I have a table with basic member info in it (member id, first name, last name, email, etc). Now, I want to create a form, let's call it "sign up for party". I want the results of this form to populate another table, but be linked to the data in the main members table. When I create a linked field in the form, it shows EVERYONE in the table!! That's a huge security issue!! I want people to enter their member id into the form and have that id validated that it exists on form submit. When they submit, the record should be created in the new 'signups' table, linked to the main table.how do I accomplish this? This seems fairly simple/common, yet I've spent 8hrs trying to figure it out.
Greeting ! Attached image explain the question, Thank for your support.
I recently saw that we can create Kanban views using LinkedIn fields and not just single-select options within that table. Question though—how do I change the order of these columns? They seems to be sorted automatically although it's unclear how it's being sorted. For what it's worth, I can't manually change the column order (which is what you could do for the single select fields)...
New user here, though I'm getting some great experience so far, especially with help from this community!I come from an ERP background using Peoplesoft so I have a good understanding of traditional relational databases. One thing that is good about PS is that a field, such as "business_unit" is uniform across all the records on the definition side (though the tables could be built diffrently).A few "nice to have" suggestions I'd put forth regarding the field definitions include:When adding a field to a record, and if that field name matches another table in your base, you should be given the option to replicate the attributes (field type, defaults, etc) from the other table. If more than one table, let me select which one I want to duplicate. On field definition, it would be useful to define a form label and on the form allow a person select an option for field name, field label, or custom. I know we can change the label on the form, but it would be handy to do it at the definitio
hello, i’m new to this and i’m wondering what the best way to approach putting lists of songs in here! basically i have too many playlists on spotify and i don’t listen to all of them anyway, because it is more like categorising them. on spotify i have different folders and multiple playlists within them, e.g instruments: piano, guitar etc. i’d like to transfer that over to here and have the fields be the song names of those categories. what’s the best way i can make this without it getting too overwhelming? just for reference i have at least 100 playlists that i’d want to transfer, over like 15 folders. thanks!
Hi,I wonder if anyone else has had this use case and if they managed to solve it.My base has a collection of deals, and each deal will always be assigned a stage. I want to track time spent (in days) in the current stage and time spent in each subsequent stage as the transaction progresses through the deal lifecycle. I want to be able to report on this data. Some reports I would like to run include:how many deals are in stage A, in Augusthow many deals are in stage B in July vs August vs Septemberhow much time is spent in each stage? What are the averageshow much time is spent moving from stage A to B and C to D, and what are the averages over timeAnother similar use case: for these deals, I would like to count the number of deals captured each month and the average over time. I would also like to include the monthly financial position for these deals and track them over time, too.Any pearls of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
I have a base used to track conservation information about media in different formats. Each format has its own table. The tables are: Film, Video, and Computer Media.Across the tables, each record is an individual item. The fields for each table differ, as the conservation data in those fields is different depending on the media. (For example, Computer Media like a floppy disk does not have a film gauge of 35mm, 16mm, etc.)I want to create a fourth table that pulls in select records from all three tables. I want to pull in only records that have "reformatting candidate" checkbox field selected.I know this could possibly work by having all the records in a single table, but the amount of fields would grow quite large and would require multiple different views with various fields left empty and hidden. It is also more user friendly for us to have each table be delineated by media type. So, is there a way to pull select records from multiple tables into another table? Thank you!
Hi there,We have acquired another company that also uses Airtable. Both we and the new company have our own client lists in Airtable and we would like to combine these, as we have some shared clients already, without (at this stage) merging the Airtable bases in their entirety. We would like people from both sides of the business to see each other's clients in one place, so that:1. we can see which clients are shared2. we don't create records for clients that already exist in one of the basesNew clients added in one base should be updated in the other base too.Ideally, clients should be able to be created in the existing 2 bases and update across, rather than created in a new 3rd base, but if that's not possible then that's fine. The clients will be linked to other tables in the respective bases and these linked fields should be displayed (via plain text if needed) in all bases.Does anyone have any ideas how we can do this? We've come across some limitations with syncing (or we don't kno
Hi. I've a simple contact us form and that form also records date and time of a new entry. Is there a way for a new record to show up automatically on top of the base as opposed to bottom?
Hi guys, Just trying to achieve the following. No luck so far. It’s a way to reduce inventory numbers of products based on the available qty of the parts that make up that product. I’d like for this to be nested. So if we have a wheel that is made of [tyre, tube, rim] and a bike that is made of [2 x wheel,1 frame etc], if we increase the qty of tyres, we will increase the qty of the wheels which will increase the quantity of the bikes buildable.eg. Table 1. (Products) Tyre Tube Rim Wheel Frame Seat Handlebars Bike Table 2 (Bill of Materials) Wheel - 1 x tire, 1 x tube, 1 x rim. Bike - 2 x wheels, 1 x frame etc. I can get it to work with one level of BOM. So if I had it as Bike = 2 x tires, 2 x tubes, 2 x rims, 1 x frame etc it works well. I’ve tried countless things to try have it work with nesting but I haven’t solved it yet. Any tips of the method to use would be great. Obviously, it has to have the formula of MIN(values) as we can only build a bike if ALL the components are available.
Hello!I am appreciative of any help on this one! I have spend way to many hours of Youtube trying to figure this out. Problem: Cannot import a CSV file to a synced tableScenario: I have a new table that is synced to another base (that part is working perfectly!), but when I try to build out the new table it will not allow me to upload a CSV because the table is being synced. I have 450 columns (fields) that I need to add that have already been mapped out in an excel file. I would LOVE to save hours of manually creating each field and have it upload into the synced file. I'm not worried about it updating the records (rows), I really just don't want to have to manually add each column. Is there any other workaround I can try?!
Hi All,I'm fishing for some ideas on how to structure my Project Tracking Base. Here's what I'm trying to do:I have Projects in a table, with a Project Manager, and Team members assigned from my People table. I do want to keep track of the role of each person on each project. This role can be different for each project they are working on, so assigning them to Departments or Roles in the People Table does not work.I'm hoping to not have to create another table (let's call it Roles for now), since it I think it will complicate the Interface. I want people to simply add team members to the Project in pre-defined roles. The other way of doing it (easier interface) means having a field in the Projects table for each role. Trouble with this approach is that new roles keep on being added (as needed on projects), and I can't be editing fields, forms, interfaces, etc. each time a new role is needed.Any suggestions on a better way to structure my base to accommodate that?
Hi. I've got a base in AirTable which I need to be able others to update through a form in fillout. I only want specific fields to be updated by the form. In the case as shown in the screenshot I only want people to change the status and no other fields. When I chose to limit who can edit fields such as name, email etc to nobody but leave the status field as editable by anyone the form doesn't update that field. I only manage to update the status field when all other fields are editable but then it will obviously create an issue that will allow people to edit the base. The idea is that people would report status updates by the form and they would need to see certain fields of the form. Could anyone point me to some resources on how to accomplish that? Thank you.
Hi everyone,I’m looking for some guidance on creating conditional forms in Airtable. Let me explain:I’ve set up a base for project management where each project has different tasks based on the program type (and there are multiple programs). Ideally, I want to create a form with a predefined task list, allowing Project Managers to fill in details such as start date, assignee, end date, status, etc., without having to manually enter each task name.Is this possible with Airtable’s Teams plan? Any insights or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, I have some set of records that need to be duplicated. At my surprise, there’s no option to “Duplicate” when more than two records are selected. I cannot duplicate by hand because the base is quite heavy, there’s too many records to duplicate and it could cause a lot of errors. Is there a way to do that (a block, a script, an integromat scenario…) ? Thank you
I have the following tables within a base:ProjectsTimesheets, with each record linked to a single project and a single task type (single select field)Estimates, each linked to a single project and a single task type (single select field)I'd like to be able to compare, ideally in a table and chart (multi series line chart?) in an interface, the amount of hours spent on a particular task type versus the amount estimated for that task type. There may be time spent on a task type that did not have any hours estimated for that task type. What is the most efficient way to do that?I could create conditional rollup fields in the Projects table for each task type, but then I'd be on the hook for creating new conditional rollup fields if I ever create new task types. This is the kind of scaling limitation I'd like to avoid, if it is even possible to avoid it. Any ideas?Thank you!
Hi thereI'm trying to set up a base to record relationships between several data sets, specifically: Segment (eg academia, corporate)Sub-segments (eg lecturers, library, researchers) Use cases (eg data management, author screening)Use case groups (eg planning research, managing research)Products (eg Pear Software, Banana Software)I'm not sure how best to set up the base to show their interconnected relationships. For instance the sub-segment of Lecturers, which is part of the Academia segment, uses Pear Software and Banana Software when they have use case of Author Screening, which is part of the use case group Planning Research. Another sub-segment might use Pear Software and Banana Software for different use cases, or they might have the same use case but Peach Software and Grape Software are better for them. Each segment and sub-segment will only have certain use cases and products that apply to them from the overall list.Once I've set up the base, the next step is to get someone to
I wish to use a series of icons to represent the status of a record in a base. How best to do this? If I add a small image in an attachments field it works, but the image becomes a clickable link and opens the image file - not what I want. The icon must be a static element. If I use a "Single Select" field I cannot import my icons.I would appreciate any guidance.
