Base Design

I have a script that I'm having difficulties with. The script is part of an automation block which is triggered by a new record being added to a table called Projects. This record in the projects field has some info about it, (how many episodes, series number, etc) but crucially, has a multi-select field. The automation is supposed to look at the trigger record, which has a field for how many 'episode' records it should create, and then makes the episode records and links them back to the project. It is supposed to also copy the multi-select entries that are in the triggering record and make them the same in the newly created 'episode' records. But it seems to be failing at that, and I'm getting an error: Error: Field "fldYr1BVOeRj2DLLz" cannot accept the provided value. at main on line 43 Can anyone see from the script what might be the issue. I have created a timeline that summarizes the data. Different ranges are colour coded based on conditions like less then 50 is light blue, between 100 and 200 is orange and anything above 200 is red. This means that values between 50 and 100 are not coloured.  The values are based on calculations in the grid view and sometimes they produce Infinity. This is desired as we want them to show as infinity instead of blank when people miss doing the data entry and we find the infinity makes this very obvious in the timeline view. Is there a way to define a condition that when the value is equal to infinity is become purple? 

I have an unusual filter requirement. So how I need this to work is: I only need to go into the view on Mondays and Tuesdays. The data will be imported in every Tuesday. Once that data is imported I need to see data from the previous week, For example I import the data on April 23, 2024. Then I need to only see this data between April 16th - April 22nd Then when I look at the view on April 22nd I still need to see the 16th-22nd of April. So if I import the data on April 30th I will need to see records between April 23rd - April 29th. If I look at the view on May 29th I see the 23rd - 29th. Is this even possible? Or what is the best way to achieve this?

I am trying to find a way to update my current record review layouts to use this new feature but can't seem to find a way. Is there a way to convert the old layouts? I have a student financial table named OTA Financial where the OTA number and other information is manually added. That is synced with the Financial workspace tab in the student table. Then the students are connected through the OTA number in the main student table to import information from the OTA Financial.  I have spent several hours setting this up and connecting the OTA's.  They were working. Then the next time I go into the table it is not updating the financial workspace tab with the information that is listed in the OTA financial.  It is not letting me just sync the tables and I can't keep going over this and resetting it up every time I add a new person.  What the heck is going on and why does it not work over a period of days?

Hi there,I tried to empty the data in a certain view however that deleted all the information from the original base also. I am unable to undo the action, and when I look in the trash the information is not there either. The base still recognises that are 87 applicants from my application form, however there is no information in the base. I have also created a snapshot from yesterday, however since then more people have submitted an application form and so there is some data missing stillThanks in advance for any helpThanks in advance

I have seen the same question asked elsewhere (link below) but it didn't really deal with another implication of combining a table and separating items by a type record.My question is, what is the best practice for setting up a contacts table in Airtable where those contacts could be clients or suppliers etc. If I was designing this in a traditional database my practice would be to make 1 contacts table and distinguish these by a field that indicates what type they are. The advantage is I dont need to maintain all of the different fields needed for a contact across multiple tables. The issue with doing this in airtable seems to be that I cannot easily create forms to add a contact or add a supplier (where the default values are hidden from the user) and as a result I cannot seem to trigger any automations from these actions. I dont want to spend time working on work arounds to achieve what I would like to do.So what do most developers do? My Production Schedule is synced to an external calendar subscription informing our entire cast and crew WHAT we're shooting - WHEN - but even though the physical address of WHERE we're shooting (i.e.: where they all need to be) - or even zoom hyperlinks (with the passwords embedded for virtual production meetings) - are detailed ON the customized labels, that doesn't transfer to the calendar subscription.All they get is an Airtable URL - and even if they click that link - it doesn't reveal the address - which is selected as an option for the customized label. What's the point of the customized label when it doesn't sync the info you select?How/where can I add LOCATION to my calendar subscriptions? 

Good morning. I would like your advice on how to handle my needs.I would like to create a CRM-like contact database called "Contacts".Then I would like to create a database "Event1" where people can submit a form and register for the event. Then in this database I would like to create other tables always referring to the event in question.I would like the contacts to be linked to event 1 if present in the CRM "Contacts" and, if not present, to create a new contact in "Contacts" with the data of the new subscriber.It would therefore be two linked databases. I am building a base for client follow up. When our clients are a couple, they are entered on the same row in our main table. I have the client name column as a look up field in our Client Birthday table, so it pulls the name from our main table. However, in the Client Birthday table we need them to be on separate rows. Is there a way to use an automation or script to split the client names into two rows?For example, if we enter John Doe and Karen Smith on one line in our main table, could we make them show up in two rows in our Client Birthday table?Thank you!

Hello, I've been using Airtable to create VFX shot lists for feature films and scripted TV series.I find it very useful to display general information (VFX name, Description, Status, etc.), as you can see in the example below:But in some productions, they need me to add specific info for every VFX plate that is part of a particular VFX shot (sometimes it's just one plate, but in some instances there are many). This is pretty easy to achieve using Spreadsheet software (see below):But I'm having a hard time to replicate this simple organisation and layout in Airtable.As you can see, some fields are common for all three plates (Thumbnail, VFX Shot Name, Description), but other fields are specific for each plate (Plate Name, Video track, Plate Duration, Source Clip Info, etc.)I've tried different options in Airtable, like Grouping records, linking records and Lookup fields, but I can't manage to accomplish what I want:Is there a way to create a main record in Airtable and add subrecords to

I guess I just don't understand how/why Airtable is set up this way.If I have a Pro account.And another has a Pro account.Why can't they just SHARE one of their workspaces and/or bases with me - with edit access - without my having to pay a 3rd time?! To be a Pro user on "their" account?!That makes zero sense to me. ;-/ 

I have a table that has a column, lets call it Food. I want to create datasheets for the drop down options I have set up for the food column and I am looking for a way to cater a page set up based off what drop down option is selected. For example: There are two drop down options. Option one is Soda and option two is Carrot. Some important information about soda would be sugar content, manufacturer, calories, etc... and some important information about Carrots would be, pesticide use, region grown, etc... I have all of these bits of information created in my table and I now want to be able to print of datasheets showing the information. The problem I have is that I don't want to display the same information for both Soda and Carrots because only certain fields apply to each. So my question is, is it possible to create separate page designer layouts for specific field values in a table? If not is there a clever workaround I am missing to make it possible. Thank you in adv

Hi All,I'm trying to set up a resource tracker using the summarise function within the timeline view.In short, I want to be able take the days associated with a task and spread these across the length of the task. So if a task takes 20 hours and the task length is a week, then the summarise function would say 4 hours for each day and would group accordingly dependent on the scale we were looking at. I'll be grouping by individual, so want to be able to get this value summed across multiple tasks. This must be what the system is doing under the utilisation function, as it'll this to compare the available days to create the percentage, but I don't seem to be able to get it to work. When I go to summarise, and go to sum, it just shows me the total number of hours and doesn't spread the amount across the days. Crucially I don't want the percentage of available time used, I just want the number of hours themselves.  Thanks in advance!  

Does anyone have any ideas on how to label relationships in this CRM we are building? We have multiple relationships we want to label such as spouses, siblings, advisors, parent-child. We also want it to work in the inverse so it shows that Sally is the child of Tom and Tom is the parent of Sally. 

I’m an Executive Director for a non-profit who uses airtable as an additional layer for grants and program budgeting.The primary piece of data/source of truth is our transaction details exported from quickbooks. There are linked tables for many things but specifically I’m looking for support on building out functionality for our Chart of Accounts related to our Programs and Staff tables.From Transactions Details all transactions are linked to the tables: -Chart of accounts (i.e. Wages, Taxes, Benefits etc…)-Programs (i.e. Events, Residencies)-Staff (i.e. Joe Shmo, Jimmy John)Specifically to figure out the budget for a program we need to take Staff - within the Staff table, and assign a percentage of time to a program (i.e. Joe Shmo spends 50% of their FTE on Events). Because we have many programs it's easier to sum Wages, Taxes, and Benefits and then multiple them by the relative FTE %. However, an issue comes into play if two Staff members work different FTE % on a program.

Hi - I'm looking for help building a tracker for customers that sign-up for beta programs. I have a table for Customers. And I have a table with a list of Beta Programs.For each beta program, they will have a google form where customers can be nominated. Then I want it to the feed into Airtable. Each customer nomination needs to go through a process so their status can move from Nominated > Pending > Confirmed. Is it possible to have one table per beta program, then one table that has a list of all beta programs that gives a count of who many customers are confirmed?

I just created a budget table, and three fields(cost, products, and source) are integrated with the product table  (pulling the cost field from the product table when I choose a particular product from the budget table). if the cost field is empty or 0 in the product table, the integrated cost field in the budget table should be editable. But I have no idea since the cost field type is lookup or rollup. Is that possible?

Hello everyone. I have a question here and would like to get your answer to it. If we have many bases in one particular workspace, and some are synced bases and some are source bases, let's say A is a source base and B is a synced base whose data is synced from Base "A". Again, all of them live in the same workspace. If we want to create a new workspace and move Bases "A" and "B" to that new workspace, will this workflow or configuration affect the current data synchronization from Base "A" (source base) to Base "B" (synced base)? Hi all, I'm a fairly proficient AT user but I just can't wrap my brain around this current project. I make and sell jewelry pieces. I do a combination of "stock" items and custom items. For stock items I'll make 5-10 identical pieces that I sell as-is. But then there's the custom work. I want to create a comprehensive system that calculates MSRP for both stock and custom pieces, tracks orders and inventory, and tells me what stock I have currently on-hand. I can't for the life of me figure out how to structure the base to be able to handle both stock items and custom orders. Stock items would record details like size, color choices, weight, etc. But they are set per item. Each record will have all the details for each act, and then I'll create interfaces for each relevant team member (stage manager, sound board operator, host) that has the information they need for each act, in the order that each act will be going on stage.The most important thing is that the producers need to be able to rapidly change the order of acts in the show, if performers drop out at the last minute or something like that. Hi guys!Is it possible to have URL in primary field? So that the URL is hidden behind some text (rich text formatting). Like you can do in other fields:So now I have this:One field is brand and the other is model (here I added URL). Primary field is brand + model. When I embed this view into my blog post, reader needs to click on the primary field and from that it opens up window where he needs to find it and click on URL one more time. I don't want that additional step (click) and honestly I think that reader won't find it quickly. Or it can be confusing.Is there a way to add rich text formatting in primary field?Thanks!

Hi! I'm a flower farmer, trying to teach myself Airtable.I wanted to keep track of my tulips from year to year and set up a base. I need suggestions on how to organize this better!  Each type of tulip might have a different harvest date from year to year, and its possible I might buy it from a different source from year to year. Maybe I like one company's bulb over another, etc.   I think I'll add a price per bulb as well, which will change from year to year.   Should I set up a new table for every year and then bring that data together?
