Base Design

Hi all,I am stumped but I feel like the answer is staring me in the face!  Hoping yall can help!I have a membership tracking base set up as follows:TablesPeopleEventsAttendancePeople and events are stand-alone tables.  The Attendance table basically links them with a field for People and a field for the Event.What I need is a total number of events (within a date range) to be used in calculating a minimum attendance requirement per person.Anyone have an idea how to accomplish this?  TIA!EDIT:  I know how to calculate how many events each person has attended.  What I need is the total number of events so I can do a formula something like {# Attended} / {Total Events} = % of Events Attended.  Thanks!

That's a bizarrely framed title, but I'm unsure how to surmise..Here's what I'm trying to do:I run a garden. We have 3 different nutrition programs, that use a different mix of ingredients, and share some ingredients. The amount to make depends on how many m2 are to be treated (or how many L of water are used to drench seedlings).These programs are:Foliar 1 (mixed for m2)Foliar 2 (mixed for m2)Transplant Drench (mixed to vol of water used for seedling drench).I need to keep records for our organics certification on what inputs are used, and when and where they are used.So I want the user to be able to select "Foliar 1," input how many m2 of garden they are treating (or how many L of water they are using to drench seedlings). Hello, I'm trying to create a view that is tasks stacked by owner in Airtable as a kanban but it keeps creating cards with deactivated users in them but there's no way to delete or hide those users. I think this will be irritating for my team because it's more people to sift through. Any ideas?Thanks,Emilia 

I'm building a Project tracker with the following tables:Projects / Tasks  / Sub TasksI'd like to add a list view on the Projects table which would show the Projects > Tasks  > Sub Tasks in that order. But it looks like I have to put the List view on the Sub Tasks table? I'm not sure my users will get that.Am I doing something wrong when setting up the List View? If I try to make a List View in the Projects table Airtable tries to put the Projects at the bottom and work up to Sub Tasks.

I manage a large media plan with multiple users. As due dates approach in the following increments, 60, 30, and 15 days, I want to trigger an email that will inform that user if they have not provided the necessary information to deploy the ads. I have set the first trigger up at 60 days however it is sending per record, not per user. Is there a way to consolidate all the records into one email?Thank you in advance!

Hello,I would like to share a base with collaborators in read only or comment only, but I would like them to be able to edite view, specially the filtering field to be able to search throu records more efficiently.So far i'm only able to share in editor mode for them to have acces to the filtering button, but then they can chage the data 😞

Hi all! I have a base in which we create and track educational programs that we put together. I have a date and time field that shows when the program starts, and a date field that shows when the program ends. Some of our programs are mutli session or span throughout a long period of weeks. For example, a program may have 3 sessions on non-consecutive days, let's say 9/22, 9/25 and 9/27 (9/27 being the end date) and each runs from 9am-2pm. Sometimes the times are different for each of the sessions too.I want to show that each one of those sessions are from 9am-2pm but the start date field will only show 9am. I can't use the end date field to show that it ends at 2pm if the time is different for each session. Is there a way to easily show a range of time? (i.e 9/22 from 9am-2pm)

Is it possible to limit the number of records syncing from one table to another?For example "Table A" has 15000 records and I want records 1-100 to populate "Table B", 100-200 in "Table C" etc.

trying to create a standard column names to be in multiple tables acroess a data base- the data below differes so I don't want to link the WHOLE column - just the top field names- anyone know how to do this? 

Hello!I run a grant application processing Airtable base that needs to seamlessly take titles of records, notably the name of the organization, and link it to other facets of my database. However, when some records to linked to other tables, it contains quotation marks around the linked record. My system does not change the record name by any means such that it is crucial that the names stay the same since my automations require to search records in other tables to grab information. Help would be appreciated! Here is a picture of what is happening to a linked record. I suspect that the ",Inc." might freak out Airtable to quote the text. 

Hello,I cannot figure out why I have a field which has multiple records linked to it even though I have not selected 'Allow linking to multiple records'.My tables are 'Materials' and 'Inventory by Location'. The top photo is 'Inventory by Location' table showing the linked field to the Materials. Preferably, if materials are linked to a storage location a new record would be created instead of linking multiple materials to one inventory record because I have not selected 'Allow linking to multiple records', or if I need to make an automation for that to happen then airtable would block linking of multiple records instead of what has happened in the photo. Also, I would like to know why, in the bottom photo, there are repeated links to the same storage locations. Thanks for any advice/clarification!

I'm working on a project wherein I'm trying to display the diversity characteristics of several universities (50+). I have an existing base with a list of all the universities I'm studying with various facets as fields across (location, size, focus, student life comments, admission criteria etc), but I also wanted to include information on the demographic makeup of each school. Ex: X University is 25% White, 15% Black, 10% Latino, and so on. What's the most efficient way to go about this so that this is also able to be displayed as pie chart via the Charts extension? I started by making an additional base, but as a beginner user I stumbled trying to find a usable format that allowed for readability and reporting. 

I have a list of schools and I'm trying to track demographics I have about the schools:raceincome levelsgendersI have reports with the aggregate data, not the individual student records. Therefore I'm not able to do rollups but tracking each demographic for an individual students in a linked table.What would be the best way to store the aggregate values, so that I can generate charts per school or across all schools? These categories have different amounts of choices too.

Hello! I'm having trouble allowing our AirTable users to add a new option to a single-select field. Also, any changes that happen to that field break an interface where that field is included both in a grid and also as a filter option. The field is only letting me add new options -- I am the one who created the field/changed up the format of how it was. Not sure why that's happening, please let me know if you have any ideas on how fix it. 

Hi! I'm working on a project for collating legal contracts and their details. The contract covers different territories, so I need a good way to represent territory data in an airtable column.Our contracts sometimes combine different countries into different groupings such as 'Latin America' or 'Caribbean Islands', etc. While I don't need to get too granular, I would like to at least divide the territories based on Continent for easy data entry. Ideally selecting a continent will select all the countries in that continent as well. What I want essentially looks something like the below screenshot, but I am not sure if this can be implemented on Airtable directly or not.I wonder if I could integrate airtable with some other software? or add some extension? or if there is some creative script or formula that could implement this?Any advice is apprec

Is there a way to identify how a field was created if it was not created by a person? There is a field that was created but can not identify how it was created. Not sure if a person created it or it was created through an automation erroneously. 

Good Morning!I had a question about moving my projects within the table itself.  I have a main "Ready For Install" section and below are two other sections, one for each install team.  What I want to know and if I am able to, is how do I make it so when I want to assign a job from the main "ready to install" section to a team, if that job line will move out of the main section and into the appropriate one.  Also, i want to link install team 1 and install team 2 to separate calendar views, so whatever job is assigned to team 1, only team 1 can see, and same with team 2.  any help is greatly appricated.

I have a table called 'jira tickets' with a single select column called 'status' with options like new, in progress, done, closed etc.The options in the single select are ordered appropriately within the field definition and so if I group by the status field within the jira tickets table, the groups are correctly ordered.But I have another table called 'work items' that links to the 'jira tickets' table and has a lookup field on the 'status' column.  Now when I group by the status lookup (in the context of the 'work items' table), the groups are unsorted by the original configuration.  And you can't override this on the level of the work items table because when you edit the lookup field, you don't see the options to be able to sort them.Is it possible to enforce the original order of the lookup field when grouping from a linked table?  I understand perhaps I could achieve this using a rollup, but it's so much less aesthetically pleasing I'm reall

HiWhen designing Leave Form Request, I have made a new form, however, there is no Submit button as default.  How to input that button in the form with automation that once the button is clicked, it will send notification?The "submit button' is shown in the Form view derived from Grid view, however, this setup wouldn't allow new linked elements right?How to set automation, when a form is submitted, the status field in Grid view is "pending approval".  When it is approved, the status changed to "approved".  I can only do it when I chose pending approval in status field in the form before submission, but it is weird.How to import "Adobe Signature" in the Approved by field?Grateful if anyone can help.  As a beginner, I read many useful solutions however no clues on the above.   

Hi, I'm building out a base to track overlapping magazine production cycles over the course of a year. Each record represents a task, and I'm wanting to duplicate records for tasks that recur each production cycle. I'm wondering how I might duplicate multiple records at a time. It doesn't appear that this is an option, but are there any work arounds? Thank you!

I am perplexed as to why there is a Date field type however it can only be sorted by 1-9 which puts the month of October ahead of January. Or another table of mine, it will sort January first for a few records, then start over. I don't know. Sorting by date seems really basic yet it is not working correctly in any of my tables. These dates sort fine in FileMaker, Excel, and Google Sheets. I'm stumped. Anyone have any suggestions? These tables were imported via CSV.

I'm working on an employee directory and the context I'm trying to optimize for is when an organization is downscaling.My base has these tablesIn short what I'm trying to achieve is that when an employee is matched with a New Org Role a new record is automatically created in Assessments where I list the employee, the role and the manager that is reponsible for assessing that employee for the role. Hello all,I have a table with 3 fields (columns). First is for names,Second for passwords,and the 3rd one is a concatenation of the 2 first ones.This table is filled up from a form. (this step is working)On the next table, I have 2 fields, the first one (primary one) is empty, and I want to have in the 2nd field the information from the 3rd field of the FIRST TABLE. (still following? )But no matter if I use 'link to' or 'look up', nothing happen in the 2nd column of the 2nd Table.   

HelloI have a table that is effectively a Risk Register Which has been scored by probability (1-5) and Impact (1-5). What I want to be able to see how many risks score 5 and 5, how many score 4 and 3, show on a typical risk matrix/heatmap like the attached jpg. I'm sure it must be possible but I can't figure a way.Thanks!Andrew
